Birdwood Golf Course Review (Part 1/3) || Blitz Golf
For this on-course review we’ll be exploring one of the best yet still somehow relatively unheard of golf courses in the Charlottesville area – Birdwood Golf Course.
While being the home course of the UVA Cavaliers, Birdwood has built a reputation as one of the top public courses in the Appalachian foothills – it features elevation changes, well manicured fairways/greens/bunkers, beautiful scenery and speedy greens.
This Lindsay Irvin design just west of Charlottesville, VA plays slightly under 7,000 yards from the tips but still provides a formidable challenge to even the most experienced golfer.
Another perk of Birdwood is the affordable pricing (especially to residents/college students) and the multitude of packages when it comes to the resort (Birdwood is actually part of the “Boar’s Head Inn – a small resort with mountainside cottages)
Overall I would highly reckoned checking out this hidden gem nestled along the mountains if you’re passing through the area – We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the round!
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3 to see the rest of the course/the final ratings
