There are a million different ways to go about putting the ball, but one thing all great putters have in common is distance control. Great distance control comes down to two things: counting and paying attention.
Understanding that the rhythm of your stroke should be consistent regardless of distance and that you need to take a mental picture of the path and destination you want your ball to roll on will help you to dial in consistent distance control.
