Reducing the radius of the golf swing

We all seem to intuitively understand that when a radius is reduced rotational speed increases. Most people reduce the radius when they take the club away instead of lengthening it.

When the radius is reduced first it forces the body to prematurely re-lengthen it (casting from the top) then prematurely shrinking again too early and prior to impact which causes early extension.

We want the swing radius to expand ONCE, and then shrink ONCE prior to impact. If it happens more than once consistency is very hard to achieve.

When you understand that you can reduce is by simply lowering the arms as you turn, the left arm stays very straight and release of the club is smooth and natural.

Many people who have a hard time squaring the clubface are performing this move one and a half times which puts the club in the wrong place doing the wrong thing. The golf club is an incredible tool. If you let it, it will do what it’s supposed to without your help.
