KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii — The No. 4 Texas women’s golf team closed the fall season with a third place finish at the Nanea Invitational on Wednesday.

The Longhorns finished in third place as one of four teams that shot under par for the tournament. Stanford won the event, followed by Arizona State in second place. Texas shot rounds of 290-279-296 (-11).

Sophomore Farah O’Keefe continued her strong play as she finished T3 at the Stanford Intercollegiate and followed it up with a T2 this week at the Nanea Invitational. O’Keefe finished with an even par final round and 8-under for the tournament. O’Keefe birdied the 18th hole to move into a tie for second place and was one shot back of individual winner Megha Ganne of Stanford.

Cindy Hsu and Lauren Kim both finished at 6-under for the tournament and T6 on the individual leaderboard. Hsu shot even par in the final round and Kim was 1-over for the final 18 holes.

The Lineup

Sophomore Farah O’Keefe recorded her second straight top-3 finish with a T2 showing at the Nanea Invitational. O’Keefe posted a score of 8-under-par for the tournament.

Junior Cindy Hsu shot even-par in the final round and finished with a score of 6-under par and T6 on the individual leaderboard.

Sophomore Lauren Kim made a pair of birdies in the final round and finished the tournament at 6-under and T6 on the individual leaderboard.

Junior Angela Heo recorded two birdies in her final round and shot a 5-over 78.

Head Coach Laura Ianello

“I was very proud of the ladies effort this week. We sadly came up a few short and didn’t have our best day today. Farah O’Keefe finishing second and Lauren Kim and Cindy Hsu finishing sixth were great performances. There are many things to work on this offseason, but overall a very successful first fall under the Ianello and Ash coaching regime. I think finishing fourth, two wins and two thirds in five tournament is very respectable. This team is hungry and we have a lot to work on in the offseason to hopefully get some more victories.”
