Evnroll Zero Putters: Better Than L.A.B Putter?

The Evnroll Zero putters are designed with Face Forward technology that balances them like a L.A.B putter, with the toe up. Evnroll says the Zero putters keep the face square to your stroke path more effectively, so you can get putts rolling down your intended line more often. So, are Evnroll Zero putters better than L.A.B putters. In this video I go into that debate and try to help you decide.

  1. Do you remember when we said $300 putters were crazy expensive? Now we are up to $450 & $500 putters! They are out of their minds! I know there are R & D costs, but if they make the price more reasonable, the costs will be recouped in volume.

Another issue I have is that there is no way to test a putter in a short session on artificial turf. Only real-world testing out on the course in different situations will determine if the putter is a keeper or not. Manufacturers have got to come up with a program to allow true testing. Why not offer a rental situation and if you buy the putter, the rental fees are deducted from the price.

  2. Smart move by EVNROLL. Several years ago i had an ER2 with a 285 g head. played with it for about 3 years which was an eternity for me. The issue i had was it and you touched on it, center struck putts just don't roll out as far as a smooth faced putter. the tech works; off center strikes do go as far as center strikes. have to give them credit for that.
Over this past summer i was remotely fit for a DF3, 72 deg. lie angle, Counter balanced & heavier head options, 36 inches. NN head alignment marking and 17 in SS grip. awesome putter and feels very natural with my slight arcing stroke. no manipulation is needed to keep the face square at impact. Key to all of this is too put these zero putters in that tool that LAB has and see if the putter stays square through the stroke. I saw the the PXG Allen putter doesn't stay square when its stroked in that LAB tool. its close but not like the DF3

  3. Hey DAVID! Really love the way you are covering the Torque revolution. Let me know if you would ever like to discuss the finer points. I know these folks are advertising the technology as being competitive with our but I would love to chat with you sometime about the differences since so many people are going to start getting into it now.

  4. Great video as always. I have been playing with the DF3 for about 4 months. Historically a pretty good putter (Scotty Newport 2.5 ), there was a learning curve of about 2 weeks. I make significantly more putts from longer distances than before. inside 6 feet, near impossible to miss. So, know I watch the video and will acquire the Z5s. I'll text back after I've run it through the gamut. Btw, I did buy the PXG Allan. Didn't care for it at all. Only reason fior the potential change, despite. the results, it is still a bit bizarre shape wise, although better than the DF2.

  5. I am so glad there is so many options available now! LAB is awesome for starting this, but I am worried about the look and the forward press built in!

  6. Nice Video! Evnroll make excellent products. You made a great point about the ball feel off the face. Its one of the best.

  7. This is not a popular warning I give now with all the hype, but do not fall for all the marketing BS: I love LAB as a company. Innovative and sympathetic. I've bought and played Mezz Max and Link 1 for both 1 season. It does not do what is advertised. If you like m, feel looks, etc, go ahead, but distance control and feel is (much) less and it takes out the intuative feel part of putting trusting only adress and line and straight take stroke. Link is better than the Max in that regard.
Made less shsorter puts, made more 3 puts on longer puts. Went back to Rossie and all better now. Why? Dunno. But I'm out of $1200 with nothing to show for it.

  8. After watching your previous review on PXG Allan, i bought and loved it, compared to LAB golf (can't get used to the shape looking down).

  9. Looking forward to trying out the Evnroll Z2s Blade, I owned the Link.1 but always had some speed control issues with it.
