  1. The pieces are all lining up now…
Jack was offered $900m, Tiger was offered $900m I cant see Rory being offered $1000m
I do agree, he could go though and especially if he gets his own franchise
    Time will tell…

  2. I don't think LIV and the PGA Tour are going to come together. Not in their respective current forms. Players on LIV anyway have made the comment they don't want to play as much. Well if LIV requires 14 tournaments and the PGA Tour requires 14 well that's 28 and 4 majors. That's 32 tournaments. Will there be some co-sanctioned events? Maybe. How would that look? The 54 holes and no cut is also a problem, along with the team portion that runs inside an individual tournament. We have already seen players on LIV change strategy coming down the stretch in a tournament to preserve the team score. That doesn't bode well for world ranking points and competition in general. I think LIV will have to make some serious concessions in order for them to work cohesively. Changing the PGA Tour product may violate their tv and sponsorship contracts they already have in place. I can't see them throwing away that amount of money to hop in bed with the Saudis. As far as Rory. I could see him going to LIV if and only if the merger is a done deal. Without it. No chance. I think he values the legacy of winning tournaments the great players of yesterday won. The same tournaments with their respective names on the trophies. LIV has no legacy. It's all money and time. I don't think Rory really cares too much about money at this point in time. I think he makes enough off the course and will continue to do so with or without LIV. I think legacy is more important to him. Winning at Colonial for instance. Whatever title sponsor is on the tournament is irrelevant. That trophy will have Ben Hogans' name all over it. The same goes for a lot of the tournaments on the PGA Tour.

  3. How can you possibly tell if he had a “grudge” against the PGA or not? Couldn’t he just be someone who’s innovative, driven and a true professional that wanted to give the initial change he sought another go! I get it’s just an opinion but I don’t get how people can say what other people are thinking, particularly if it’s aggressive or negative! He’s set it up and may just want to move on? I think the PGA are being left in the dust of LIV and need to catch up. As for Rory M… well nothing positive to say so won’t comment.

  4. I think you have a great theory. Rory has clearly been tinkering with the idea of joining LIV, but also very clear that “Greg needs to go.” One of the few reasons I could see Greg stepping aside is to clear the way for Rory to join. Plus this Match is coming up and LIV is using Rory and Scottie’s picture in their promo. Hmmm….

  5. Liv isn’t getting tv viewing figures because the major tv companies have blackballed them! Maybe this will change if a deal with TNT comes off!

Two majors and Two Senior majors for Liv so far.

  6. Can’t find any reference to GN moving up or out at LIV, either on their website or app. But then, I live in your future (GMT+10 ha ha in Normanland… sorry Queensland)

As an expat I would welcome an Irish team. Young Feherty even speaks their lingo, so he does, so he could translate if a few fecks ventured into Live Mic. Forget the billion idea. Not that they couldn’t afford it but he doesn’t need the money by his own admission. Give them a few bottles of Bushmills and a case or two of Guinness and they’ll be right, mate. I’m sure Leish will share some of his Lager and Anser a bit of Tequila. Then it’s party time. Add an Irish venue to the roster by dropping one from the US. I’m happy with your three names maybe adding young McKibben as the 4th. I’ve seen every round of LIV since it’s inception. It’s great and at 72 I am well above the demographic. My Mum told me in the 60’s that no one will ever remember the Beatles and their music. Change is tough, bring it on!

  7. Rory has wanted to ease back and this was made worse with his schedule and his marriage. Getting a bag and still being able to be a husband and dad is certainly appealing.

  8. Rory will not sign for liv if it means leaving the PGA, in my opinion at least.
There's been a bit of talk about the team side of liv becoming more prominent in the future and I think we will see the 2 tours being scheduled alongside each other.
I think the PGA tour will allow the top liv players into the signature events and liv will let the top PGA players into the team/franchise side of it. The lower liv players and the lower PGA tour players will go back into the regular tour events and the dp world tour will merge with the international series.
It's the only way I can see all the big knobs being satisfied.
