  1. The folding the arm seems like you can practice anywhere anytime without a club in hand! I’ve never really looked into this aspect of the swing but I’m not hitting it as far as I would like to move back a set of tees

  2. I do a 3/4 swing and I get plenty of distance…. I find if i go any further that 3/4 in my backswing if affects my club face orientation, or leads to more thins or fats.

My 3/4 driver swing sure aint pretty vs someone like Rory but it stays in play more, so i dont really care about the aesthetics.

  3. I love it Tom. No need for super flexibility just good rotation, aggressive trail arm movement and shaft lean. The compression on the ball will still be amped up with a shorter backswing.

  4. This is my natural swing. Im built kinda like Jon Rahm and have had a bad back since I was a teenager so Im not very flexible. Developed a power fade with a minimal backswing and now Im crushing the ball and with more control than Ive ever had.

  5. Very much a stack and tilt look, with that short backswing and weight forward. I've seen a guy at my driving range absolutely crush it with that short backswing using stack and tilt. It was an eye-opener for sure.

  6. I too just love the way tom teaches. My wife is a college professor and she has always said to keep things simple, just the way Tom teaches. You've changed my golf swing big time Tom; and for the much much better.

  7. Tom, I was deep in thought about what moves first ("trigger," if you will) in the swing you teach, which I have struggled with figuring out. In watching your swing on all your videos it appears to that your trial legs straightens almost immediately near the Strat of the backswing, which I think would work as a "first move" swing-thought since it has to happen anyway. But then I thought if that's the case, why not just set up with the trail leg "pre"-straightened at address to begin with, and use this as your "post" as you say?

  8. I’ve been doing a version of this to fix chicken wing, 68 yrs old been golfing a year and a half. I call it full ass – half swing

  9. I think one of the main advantages to a short backswing is that there is less time in the swing for something to go wrong if that makes sense.

  10. I’ve been having a little trouble likely getting too steep and hitting straight pulls. This lesson got my attention because it obviously keeps the swing plane down. I played today after a short warmup with this method and it made a huge improvement in accuracy. More fairways hit and some pretty crisp iron strikes. I still have a little work to do to fine tune it but I’m liking it so far.

  11. I was trying this move that you are advocating in this video yesterday Tom, but it seems that I was hitting a number of "fat shots." I was also working on a "zonal" ball position that may have been a cause. Any suggestions? Thanks Tom! Always look forward to viewing your lessons! I've archived this video!

  12. Hey Tom how would i find a in person coach that has the same swing philosophy as you? Is there maybe a name for this type of setup and swing?

  13. Thanks Tom, I will most definitely check out the videos. I have hit a ton of balls where you film your videos as I live just down the street!
