Best golf news I have seen in about three years. He is so easy to despise.
There was ZERO chance any deal with PGA was going to include this asshole.

Good enough for the old skelator. For a multi-millilnaire, what a miserable looking (and sounding) man.

Bryson for CEO!!!

Probably a good idea. Used to love Greg as a player, and he was awesome to me as a little kid – called me out of the crowd and let me walk a hole with him in a practice round. How cool!
But his feud with/attitude towards the PGA has been a heel turn for his persona. If there’s going to be a truce between PGA and LIV I think they are going to need a different frontman

Norman has always been king of the fragile egos. He was never a good pick for an actual leadership role.

He was a good choice when they wanted to posture as a legitimate competitor to the PGA Tour but the worst possible choice if they want to try to make a deal between each other work.

He’s nothing but a total asshole. There is actually nothing good about him.

Good, the dude is a clown and any chance of the PGA and LIV coming to an agreement would be fucked into the ground because of him.

I once heard one of Norman’s former caddie compare him to Tom Watson, who he had also caddied for. He described how each would approach discovering their perfect drive ended up in a divot. Norman would bitch and moan about his bad luck, Watson would turn to him, relishing the challenge and say “Watch this.”

are they gonna give him a golden parachute or dismantle him with a saw?

I agree. If accurate, this is the best decision possible for LIV at this time. I loved Greg as a player but more than once he has displayed arrogance at an astonishing level. I get that being one of the most visible and accomplished players in the history of the game offers a platform but using said platform for what could easily be determined as, or at the very least, peppered with selfish reasons, will dash a reputation it took decades to build. (I am talking to you as well, Phil). Yes, there have been a few missteps by the game’s greats. Arnold had his cringe moment when it came to different rules for competitive play vs casual participation in the game, Jack has soapboxed his equipment rollback for more than 20 years and Tiger allowed his personal indiscretions to grow to a level that impacted the very golf world itself but at no point did I ever get the impression that they thought they were bigger than the tour itself much less this game we all love. Greg has had a bone to pick with the tour since, arguably, they ‘stole’ his idea about the WGC model. I get that there was Greg’s side and the tour’s side of the situation but Greg seemed to allow that situation to impact him deeply and ultimately poison him toward the organization that gave him the platform to achieve everything in his life. Apparently he felt his reputation in the game was worthy of mortgaging if it meant sticking it to the tour and Phil seemed to place his hands on that same flagpole being waved by Greg. The golfers who migrated to LIV, largely, simply did so from a financial perspective and although I found that a bit sour to swallow, that motivation is a simple one to dissect and set aside. Greg’s motivations seem to be layered and just plain nasty. Even when he is speaking about LIV and nothing overt about the PGA Tour is being mentioned, his comments remind me of a jilted lover who talks about his new girlfriend in such a way as to compare her to the old, lesser one. I feel a layer of build up in my ears when he speaks. Anywho…my two cents.

Norman is the type of guy who believes the PGA should stop existing after he retires because in his mind he was whole show to begin with
GeoPutters
I can see both sides. Greg’s feud goes back 30 years when they basically stole his idea that became the WGC. And yes the Tour should have addressed players $$ 20 plus years ago. But that’s the past.

Can they replace their on screen graphics while they’re at it?

I simply cannot fathom what sort of enormous asshole you must be to [have this in your house](https://ftw.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2015/06/gregnorman.jpg?w=640)
