No trading away JJ McCarthy for a DL, even if Darnold wins a Super Bowl. Why?
First, remember Montana and Young. Ten years difference in age, both won Super Bowls for the 49ers.
Second, knees: They get injured. McCarthy already had one repair, and Darnold is wearing a sleeve from a single hit. Within reason, a team should try to keep two promising quarterbacks. This situation is ideal, for at least two years.
Third, the team has a couple pretty promising guys right now, LDR and Taimani. Try them for a few games before bringing in a new guy.
Fourth, if you really need a new guy, trade the first rounder in 2025, which you were gonna use on a DL anyway.

The close games weren’t all Kirk, they were close more because of zimmer for the first 5 years (u literally touched on it) and the shell defense in 2022. In 2023 we were in position for a deep run with Flores on D and Kirk playing like an mvp with Jefferson coming back from injury. We all know what happened there.
4 games of darnold and you already have him as a better qb than Kirk. I give you guys a bad game and a half before you turn on him, remove the gold jacket from him and place it on McCarthy who has barely practiced with the first team but who you have already anointed a super star. 🤡
Kirk was 15-7 with KOC, that with zimmer’s embarrassing tell all interview proves where the problems during the Kirk era really lied. I already knew this but the interview cemented it. Should have fired zimmer in year two when he was still pissing and moaning about the decision to pay a qb. He wasn’t on the same page and never got there.

Man even if kirk is a better QB than darnold, the amount of pieces we were able to aquire in the off-season more than makes up for the loss of Kirk
Just so you know when you have that gene you don't feel caffeine the same as other people. I took a DNA test and it told me that I have that gene. But it also matches my experience of not feeling the extra shot of expresso . Or being able to sleep after late in the day coffee. It's cause I metabolize it so fast
