Watching the reel last night that somebody posted of Fred couples swing over the years, and my wife asked why I don’t swing more like that guy. Tried explaining to her the years of practice and mastery he has, and she said it just sounded like excuses.

Freddy has gone through back injuries that cursed his career for a long time. That probably better explains why one simply does not swing like him.

There were days when I was younger and a better player that I’d feel like I was swinging as smooth as Freddy or Ernie. Unfortunately it rarely lasted more than one round.
Your wife tells me I look stiff all the time too

This sounds to me like a greenlight to hit the course and range as much as you want. If she tells you to stop and pay attention to your family and start working again you can blame her for your swing not looking like Freddy Couples.
