  1. Key position players should be top priority. Lack of key forward and key defender depth. Geelong have a better recruiting/scouting department than us tbh.

  2. I really want one of the Whitlock brothers tho it be so handy especially Tassie are coming in teams will be trying their hardest to lock in important players till 2030 so then it’s extremely hard to them and other clubs to poach like if we’re still looking for key defenders and forwards the likes of Sam Taylor the king brothers Oscar Allen Sam dekoning and others are gonna be locked up which will force us to go and pick a couple up from the draft

  3. Why haven't we done well with our draft picks the last few years? Is it because Collingwood makes bad choices in the draft. Or is it just that these kids dont live up to their potential? Or are these young players not being developed to their full potential??? Curious what you think, Swoop.

  4. Hey Lukey we bring in Perryman and get pick 12 for Nobes and possibly bring in Houston OMG we have done well and then pick up a diamond in th rough in the draft because it does bat deep watch out and id LOVE it if we could somehow bring in Lord. Fingers Crossed we get that pick 12 for Nobes 🤞🤞🤞

  5. I agree with the coach we need ready made players also you don't want to stay down the bottom when you have nick daicos we can't waste his career.

  6. Luke, what are your thoughts on this. Ollie lord to collingwood for pick 33, pick up Perryman, noble to gold Coast for pick 12, and, very unlikely, use pick 12 and a future first for smithy

  7. Must be heartbreaking for the recruiters who attend games looking at talent that they know they wont have the draft capital to select the gun players. Hoping Allan , Jiath , Di Mattia, Ryan, Smit and Long take a big step up next year .

  8. anyone who thinks we will get pick 12 for Noble is dreaming (he is good but not that good), we will most likely get 20, Also Thomas McGuane is predicated to go top 5 (maybe even top 3). As for topping up with players over drafting is fraught with danger, yes Geelong has done it successfully (but is starting to look at more draft players now), Hawthorn, West Coast, North Melbourne and St Kilda all tried it and looked what happened to them, trading away 1st round picks especially on good draft years i think is a bad move unless you are getting superstar players not players that are mediocre to good (and yes i am talking about Schultz so not worth a first and second round pick, maybe 2 second round picks at best), First round picks should only be traded if you are getting a Jeremy Cameron type of star (a player that you can build a team around) or future first if you have father/sons coming through and you are not in a rebuilding phase.

  9. Let’s pump the brakes on the pick 12 for Ollie Lord idea! He’s a pick #49 from a few years ago who has played one legitimately good game. Pick 12 is in the ballpark of what Geelong will end up paying for Bailey Smith. He might be a promising prospect, but you can’t give up a pick like that for someone who hasn’t shown they can be a consistent performer yet

  10. Ive been saying for 20 years picks are no good. Get a ready made player, not spend 3-4 years developing a player who also takes up a spot on the list. That said unless you have a top 5 pick and can get a harley reid.
