I walked 18 holes with Fred in his first tournament after turning pro at El Dorado CC in Long Beach Ca. I didnt even know who he was. No galleries etc. Fred was doing the same thing with his driver….kicking up a tuft of grass and then hitting his driver off that. corey Pavin was his playing partner.
Fred could make anything look relaxing and enjoyable.
Fred is the King of Cool with the most beautiful golf swing I’ve ever seen.

Last time I played in this tournament with Olin Browne Sr. and his son Olin Browne Jr., OBJ shot an eagle on #8. 2 Iron off the tee, 2 Iron into the hole. It was amazing!

Golf channel needs to do a documentary about Fred. His level of play for 40 years is absolutely incredible. He didn’t win a ton, but he’s the best pure striker of the ball in his generation.
