  1. I’ve got myself down from 14 to 11 this season but I’m still loosing 7-8 strokes a round off the tee , all my other game is in a good place , I stand on tee with driver and can only guess where it’s going to go
My club pro gave me a lesson and was basically saying the same thing as you get the hands dropped down faster and less body rotation
I’m getting there but getting the occasional big duck hook which he said would happen so now it’s just trying to neutralise it

  2. So when I tend to hook, does that mean I’m likely not rotating my chest enough towards target ? 😅

  3. i have seen you mention this concept in a couple of videos now, and whilst I cant say i have perfected it I have noticed through recording myself that this is exactly my biggest issue and one that seems to be missed by other golf instructors. It makes perfect sense to my tiny brain and when i get it right I can see it helps cure a number of issues such as a small chicken wing after impact, hands not really ahead of the ball at impact and my right elbow being closer to my right side during the downswing/turn. Seems a logical idea when i see it explained and I am lost why i havent seen anyone else mention this. Thanks for the videos!

  4. Great video, I predict a lot of light bulbs turning on.
When fine-tuning forearm rotation, which arm do you recommend should dominate those tweaks? lead or trail?

  5. Rotate the forearms… Omg we going back to the 1970s? How about use left wrist flexion or right rist extension instead. This a tip a lot about early extending and flipping the club.

  6. I wish you told us what you told your brother, in 30 seconds to a minute, instead of 10 minutes.

  7. This is the best tip I've had. It really makes me feel dumb. Like how have I not thought of this sooner 🎉. Thanks 🙏 so much

  8. It would be much easier to teach your brother-in-law how the golf club works instead of trying to get him to use it properly by accident.

  9. The motion this man is trying to explain is what was holding my swing back for many many years. I was a perpetual slicer for turning my body way too early, trying muscle through the shot. finally I figured out you almost feel like you are not turning and whip/snap the club at the ball then let the club carry your body around after impact.

  10. This has to be the absolute best drill I have came across. Warmed up with this drill before my round and didn’t hit the ball to the right/slice off the tee all round! Thank you awesome video.

  11. This reallllly helped me out Chris Ryan. Your explanation makes so much sense. Such a common fault , and yet haven’t seen much about this particular issue. Not trying to oversell it here, but I was making such solid contact and hitting so straight in my 9 hole league after work. Thank you again!

  12. So many teachers omit to mention how the swing should feel. Thanks Chris for including this essential detail for we amateurs

  13. I'm in the same category as the rest, over the top, poor contact on heel and toe with wipe outs far right or hard, straight left with the driver. Perfect explanation and instruction for practice drills to get the feels. This is definitely the best explanation of how most amateur golfers hit the driver. We have it backwards in the downswing. I saw another instructor talking about the same thing the other day, but most do not tell it like you have. Thanks Chris

  14. Great lesson as always Chris. My son is 14 and just made the high school golf team. He's been watching a bunch of your videos, however he's not been working on these specific drills which I believe are key to understanding how important technique is in this game.

  15. Been pushing/slicing lately. This sounds workable to me. Looking forward to giving it a go later today. Thanks.

  16. I just got off the course a few hours ago and I KNOW I am still swinging a little out to in. I make adjustments to combat this, however I will take your drills to the range tomorrow to work on this stubborn part of my game!
Thanks as always for the best video golf instruction out there.
