The final leg of the three-event FedExCup Playoffs series arrives as a restored East Lake Golf Club hosts the TOUR Championship. A field of 30 players battles it out in this no-cut finale for the biggest prize on TOUR. Scottie Scheffler once again heads to East Lake ranked No. 1 in the FedExCup Standings after a fabulous 2024 campaign that includes six TOUR victories and a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. This is the third straight year Scheffler enters the season finale ranked No. 1, and he’ll start two shots ahead of the pack heading into the first round. Xander Schauffele has also had a great season, claiming two major titles. The American finished T2 and T5 in recent years at East Lake and sits two shots back of Scheffler. Hideki Matsuyama also eyes his chances in Georgia this week. He won the first Playoffs event at the FedEx St. Jude Championship but withdrew from the BMW Championship last week due to a back injury. He claimed the bronze medal at the Olympics, as well as victory at The Genesis Invitational earlier this year. Others to look out for are Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg and Viktor Hovland.

Used to love this event, love Bobby Jones. Was the top 30 golfers playing, now probably about 10 of the best can’t play, won’t even watch, no interest, it’s a shame

This format is all sorts of dumb. It's the exact opposite of the handicap system, giving an advantage to the 'best' players.
The course seems too easy for Collin and Scottie.

Yeah, giving scottie shots against anyone is a gosh darn crime lol
For those saying the greens are too easy, players have always shot stupid low at east lake. Look at 2007, Zach Johnson and tired woods scores were in the 20s without a -10 head start
These scores are too low, they gotta make it tougher even for the fans watching, Like soccer it's amazing when there's a goal, If every hole is a birdy it's not that great.
Boring, boring, boring. I love golf, but this last Fedex tournament with the strokes advantage ruins the entire season (IMO). Imagine if other major sports decided to go with this kind of BS.
