  1. Watching this video together, my boyfriend asked: "Can we do it the same way?" I laughed and replied, "Only if we don't break the bed!🍒

  2. If I got paid for every minute I spent on YouTube, I'd have bought myself an island by now and named it Laughter🍓

  3. A friend of mine has the 101T's and they are def a fun club to hit, what you said about them is pretty spot on. They are fun to hit, pretty long and semi-easy to work the ball. The price is CRAZY for what you get with the 101T's, is hard to not get them over the 770's and the 770's don't seem to offer that much more for the price difference.

    Great review!

  4. Can anyone tell why Taylor made took only Kirkland to court, as all these new clubs seem to look very similar 🤔

  5. I haven't hit any Takomo clubs, but if they're half as good as everyone on YouTube makes them sound, that would definitely be the direction I'd be going. £600 would pay for a lot of lessons!

  6. Our chief 2 weapons are Forgiveness and Distance. And Accuracy. Our 3 chief weapons are…. 😂

  7. What’s the long term wear on the Takomos? I can’t really find any info on that. Will they last 3-4 seasons if you play 2-3 times a month 6 month out of the year.

  8. The initial saving is good, however as always consider the residual value, if you change your clubs every 3 years as i do, the trade in or resale value is important. Takomo do not hold their price, TaylorMade P770 and 790 do, so actually can prove cheaper over the duration of ownership. I sold my old P790 2.5 years old for 70% of what in paid for them. Think hard before you jump for Direct to consumer

  9. I believe you said the 101T,s are a little stronger lofted so they will go a little longer but feel is a very important part of club interaction bottom line you get what you pay for! great video

  10. Hi James. The spin rates for both clubs were appropriate for their lofts. Back in the old days, our 6 iron blades were expected to spin at 6000 rpms. Nearly every OEM's 6 iron was 36* degrees of loft. The number on the sole of today's irons, only designate the place of any iron in a set. In the early days of moving away from blades and any semblance of uniformity, OEMs would basically erase the 6 on the sole and replace it with a 7. Look, this year's model is one club longer than our previous model. It happened enough times that the gap wedge was born. In defense of today's clubs, they are gradually returning to the old 24/38 rule and the heads are engineered to produce the appropriate launch. So those 8 irons are your 6 iron with launch boost. I hope that one day, some daring OEM will erase the number on the soles of the irons and call a 24ish* degree lofted iron, a 3 iron at 38" in length.

  11. Hi James or anyone. Would the takomos be an upgrade from Mizuno JPX 825 pro irons? I’ve been looking at these since last year and been wondering if I should make the switch. Been playing about 3 yrs and still learning. Thank you

  12. I wonder how the Mcgregor Macspds match up to the Takomos. The Mcgregors are about 489 with recoil graphite shaft. But you can customize the shafts and the grips.

  13. Takomo deserves so much credit. They’ve done an amazing job with their brand. They are a budget iron that nobody considers a budget iron. I guess it helps to have a great product as well. Good for them. They’ve forced the big brands hands a little. Clubs play as well look at least as good if not better than the big brands and they are a cool club to be seen playing.

  14. I Got caught up in the takomo hoopla. Purchased the 101t’s and had a horrible time with them. May have been my setup, 125g stiff kbs shaft, mid size grip and standard loft, lie, shaft length.
Very unforgiving on low strikes. center, heel or toe. Also lost 10-20 yards on every club (Went from 175 yard 7 iron to praying my 7 iron went 155 yards). Local store fitters wouldn’t touch them fearing they might break during an adjustment.

Months of frustration with them I had enough and gave them away. Got fitted a few weeks ago and ironically enough fit perfect into p770s and what a huge difference. Got my yardages back and accuracy. Solid on low strikes of center strikes as well. I got fitted for s300 shafts, standard length and lie also +4 standard grip.

I’m not bashing takomo at all. I’m saying be careful what you wish for. If you know all your specs and want a cheaper option they might be good for you. Find out if a fitter with fix them if they need fixing.

  15. You can also custom your irons for Takomo, went for a fitting today and the Taylormades came out on top, im now going to use the exact same build for some Takomos and save £600!

  16. I used to be a brand snob but after watching your channel for as long as I can remember and listening to your honesty I’m loving the DTC idea and I will definitely be going that way moving forward

  17. I play takomo and I love them. I also understand that a better golfer would want clubs fitted and a bit softer.
