Rail Talk Episode 57: (Don’t) Hold Your Horses
This week on Rail Talk! Joe Bianca and Jon Green welcome jockey Dylan Davis, who’s enjoying a breakout season at Saratoga. Fresh off a huge Grade I win in the Saratoga Derby aboard West Point Thoroughbreds’ Carson’s Run, Dylan talks about his upbringing as the son of ultra-talented jockey Robbie Davis, the years of work he’s put in riding the harsh winters at Aqueduct and how he communicates with his horse and fellow riders during a race.
Elsewhere on the show, Joe and Jon look forward to a massive Travers Day highlighted by a classic renewal of the ‘Midsummer Derby’, and Joe rants about an injustice he saw from the Del Mar stewards when a horse was unfairly held up in the gate yet still declared a starter.
