Title kind of speaks for itself (but I’m there are some weirdos who chuckled immediately like I did as I was typing) , but let’s see some pictures of iconic holes at your home course, the picture below is hole 17, at Purgatory golf course in Noblesville, Indiana, it’s called “hell’s half acre”

I don’t have an actual photo of it, but the green is tiered like 5 times. Plays 130-205 depending on the tees and each tier plays like its own small green.

I lived in Fishers, IN and remember hearing about Purgatory but never got a chance to play it. Looks awesome!
General Old, Riverside, CA. The 17th hole where the best tee shots go between the two palms.
I wish I played a course nice enough that anything on it could merit being called “iconic”.
Sir, that’s a desert.

Hole 12, 391 par 4. This photo doesn’t really do it justice; I stole it from the website. But, in the fall when the leaves start to turn, it’s the most beautiful spot on the course. I have hundreds of dollars of balls in that pond.

Harbor Shores #7! Could argue hole #10 as that was Jack’s ~100ft “let me show you how to putt this,” moment. But #7 has the best view!
Hole 7 is a par three with a bunker in the middle of the green.

Ping me for a round here when you visit Tokyo!
I guess #9, where they keep moving the tee box & the fungus on the green gets a little worse every year.
Thought I recognized Purgatory! Great track.

Crimson Ridge – 18th (par 5)
Played this one many times living 20min away. This place is sand upon sand. Fun course though!

Not the signature hole per se, but I just like finishing on 18 and sitting on the clubhouse terrace drinking cider.
The 19th, our club house is gonna crumble any day 😂
My ex wife’s…
too many honestly. very fortunate

From the tee its a dog leg left but this is what you see after hitting a 220ish shot. You get a nice audience if the weather is decent but theres a pond in front of the green left and a bunker right so most people lay up and although Ive seen people come close, no one has injured anyone with a skulled wedge.
This picture is the day before they actually opened the club house. I moved here while they were building it and did skull a shot into the orange construction fence…
That´s the set movie set of Dune
There’s a hole at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA that’s referred to as the Eisenhower hole, because he had a quote that went something like “If I die and wake up on the tee box at White 7, then I’ll know I’m in hell.”
I triple bogeyed it this past Monday.

“Iconic” is certainly a stretch as my home course isn’t anything special, but out of all the holes there I think 9 is the most inspired. Longish par 5 with water the whooooole way down on the right. And then the hole hooks pretty severely to the right, right at the green.
https://preview.redd.it/ct8abbe1k0kd1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39bc35114f2bb16e846016571f62ce4cb850e4ee
So your third shot into the green is basically cutting the corner over the water. It’s really rewarding to have a strategy and execute it how you want on that hole. Haven’t been playing there long but I’ve never had a chance to go for it in 2, not sure I ever will haha
My home course is in Newark, NJ… so instead of that I’ll just post one I played last week (druids glen, outside of Dublin):

the infamous 8th hole. 125yd par 3. don’t let the distance fool you, this is one of the hardest holes on the course. the green is elevated, and a creek with a ton of vegetation separates it from the tee box. if you do anything other than hit it straight, it’s nearly impossible to find your ball. if you zoom in, i made a white mark where the flag is.
Purgatory! Bear Slide is my “home course” but this is my second home.

Hole 8 – Postage Stamp 😁
Played this hole at an outing for the first hole of the day. Stuck it to about 5 feet and won closest to the pin. Only shot that was used the rest of the day.

Sentryworld Flower hole 16.
The lady on 13 who tans naked by her pool.
I love this course, but it doesn’t really have a stellar “signature hole.” It’s just pretty solid throughout. Here’s [18](https://www.michigan.org/sites/default/files/uploads/2018/orchards-golf-club-washington.jpg).
https://preview.redd.it/i51svew0q0kd1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66e3822f495e943bcf1ec9eae5f9af16ef7be1e7
I was like PURGATORY!!!! Need to get out there before the season ends. The hole names get me every time.
The Fort hole 4. Narrow, curving slopes down, then a blind uphill shot into a ridiculously undulated green complex. I’m normally in the trees off the tee, but she’s stunning. In the fall, there isn’t a prettier hole in the state.
It depends on the day, but everyone knows the 15th. I love 15-18.

“The signature hole of Northbridge, a small green targeted from an elevated tee. Left is a bunker and right and the rear of the green is a challenge. Avoid over clubbing, better to play short. The white disc at the rear of the green is your point of alignment. Sighting a wayward ball is difficult from the tee.”
Played purgatory once. Tipped it out bc I was 25 and stupid but somehow shot 80.
