I don't get the 'give a crap' about Kuchar's move.
If you step back and think about it, he's playing for more than an average salary depending on if he gets a birdie, par or bogey there. Its beyond dark and he played 36 holes. So your clueless to think it may not have changed his outcome.
And its the worker's JOB to come back the next day. Its not like it was some tough assignment to show up the next day for a couple hours? It was always a possibility whether its one guy or several…
Kooch did not know he would be the only one, also he was asked to make a decision he did not request an accommodation. In addition, he needed a rules official to gain relief from an obstruction. If Tiger did this he would applauded for how smart and serious he takes every shot. Koooooooooooch!!!
Disagree with riggs, how are shot put or javelin any more dynamic or entertaining than long drive? They are all just "one thing" and they are in the Olympics
One of my favorite events that isn’t around anymore was the Dell match play. I think the Olympics should take the place of that. Match play bracket.
When cart path only I like to not be guy driving and will pull my bag off the back of the cart and walk certain holes when not convenient from the path. Then meet back up at the green and can ride to the next tee.
I see both sides on this. Yes it was a bit crazy to be the only guy to not finish and forcing people to show up the next day for it. But realistically, they only probably needed to cut and roll the 18th green, which they would probably do anyway even if the tournament was over, and obviously have some officials there from the tour. But to Kuchar's defense, it was a $65k difference in prize money by making par on 18 over making bogey. Although he is well off, I'm sure that that amount of money isn't life or death for him. $65k is still a significant enough amount to wait a day to give yourself the best chance to make par. Not to mention the extra money his caddie gets for that additional $65k in prize money as well.
