My lasting memory of him will for some reason be that time he was on Big Break and his punch shot off the glass tile came back and hit him.

Chi Chi was fun to watch

As a kid i started with some flea market chi chi irons hitting a tennis ball around the yard. My dad cut them short. I remember he boiled grips to make them loose enough to fit the cut down irons (this was pre internet days, and we didnt know better).

I saw him do some kind of sword fighting move with his putter when i was a kid. I can’t remember what exactly he did but it looked cool so i did something like it the next time i played.

Sad, I played his course in Clearwater a ton, I think it helped disadvantaged kids. He was a philanthropist. Tough tight course.
Rip – chi chi was one of the guys that made golf look fun and helped get me into the game when I was a kid
Gramps loved this guy – used to mimic the sword play. He had some serious swag, RIP to a legend.
