This is the Pelz golf teacher pointer putting training aid
.
At first it didn’t look like it would be very practical.. the impact zone target sits quite high on the face and you’d think that it would make for a very weird strike
.
But after trying it I was quite surprised with how well it worked
.
It comes off the face pretty good still and the line is a great visual to be able to check where your putter is pointing through the whole stroke
.
It would be better if the tape was better or if it was made with a clip of some sort that didn’t rely on a sticky square for attaching it in place
.
Even after the first use the tape wasn’t the best at sticking to the face and they do recommend only using on metal faces..
.
Once you have taken it on and off it does become very difficult to keep it in place and for £20-£30 it seems quite expensive for minimal use
.
Overall I really like the idea but I think the face impact zone could be lower and the tape definitely needs looking at.. putting a couple of elastic bands around it to hold it in place could actually do the trick but it depends on the shape of your putter as to whether it allow you to do that or not
.
Alignment is the most important thing in putting but there are better ways for getting it dialled in in my opinion so I’d give this a 5/10 not the best especially at quite an expensive price for what it is but by no means is it the worst I’ve seen
