It’s concerning that the horse owner who I presume is the lady videoing the session (and laughing in the background) has waited until now to release the same. Ergo I would presume that this is more vengeful than anything else. This does not excuse the excessive use of force which is not acceptable. It’s such a shame that a glittering dressage star’s career is now in tatters especially with what looks to be a vengeful attempt to destroy someone’s career

Looks like she is angry. And just whipping the horse..even the horse is kicking back. I believe you just give them a little tick to keep engaged but not that way and I hope other big trainers do not do it..maybe?
You will find many of these horses are abused. You just don't see it.
Animal and child abuse
Everybody is forgetting that she was a young girl ,and taken under Carl Hester he tought
her everything she knows so she was obviously been taught that , she was young in that video .Carl at the beginning was proud off how she has come along at the start of her career.
Can we please start taking animal abuse more seriously if you abuse an animal you shouldn’t be allowed to have an animal again. She shouldn’t be allowed to compete again let alone ride or keep an animal again. We need to treat animals with respect.

The whole culture is rotten to the core. The judging. The cruel owners. Makes me mad. Horse abusers don't go to heaven.
"Error of judgment" be damned! As a horsewoman, I cannot figure just what she was trying to achieve. The horse was clearly winded, breathing in the manner of racehorses at work, where they learn to breathe with each stride. This alone means the horse had been hacked about the arena much longer than necessary, many times. She, and most others, are riding with their horses over-bent, the face should not be behind the vertical. This is called rollkur, a forced way of collection. Elevation comes from behind, few horses are truly fit enough to maintain elevation. She was never going to get that horse's hocks under him doing that. Someone tell me, if anyone knows, how is that horse now? Ruined is my guess.

Dignity or choices I dislike any abuse towards humans , animals , is a character flaw that has always been in humans since beginning of time wrong yes , we have learned so much how to treat each other n animals but we fall short in all regards . Learn from mistakes is how we can evolve. Hopefully she is truly sorry only time will tell !!

Who filmed this and was recorded laughing? Disgraceful and disgusting! One of the most disturbing, of the many, videos out there.
Charlotte should not be allowed to keep horses she is a disgrace . That poor horse will be traumatised and nervous and possibly be damaged . There is never an excuse for animal cruelty she should suffer consequences for her actions.

This decision damages more the horse than the rider. Those animals live extremely well. It is very expensive to mantain them. Now Who is going to pay for the care and supervision of the horse, the animalist? That technique used in the video does not heart or damages the horse at all. They are extremely strong. It just bothers a little the horse While learning. If the sport is taken out of the games will extremely damage the lifes of thousands of horses. Who will pay for that? The amimalists? Their ignorance just spreads more ignorance, anger and really affects the horses.
It's obviously she's very comfortable in the practice of abusing her horses. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been so bold to do this in public. The horse has NO idea why he's being randomly whipped. Is it a show of power and control on Charlotte's part? To induce fear in the animal? I think that she forgets she owes these magnificent animals a debt of gratitude as she'd be nothing without them-no gold medals, world championships and a fantastic lifestyle. Think about that, Charlotte. So sorry her horse(s) have had to endure this abusive behaviour❤
WTH! She needs to be charged with felony animal abuse as well as who ever filmed that and did nothing 😡
