spot to Justin Rose and Stenson were at the first so tricky Chip Shot to come it’s a delicate Chip he’s only got to just about get it on the green the slope will do the rest very quick big right to left i’ imagine he’s going to start there somewhere near the the marker of the USA the green n beautifully played beautifully played get for one [Applause] down won the Houston open and April to qual qualify for the Masters a top 10 in the WGC bridon but that’s his only top 10 since early June so he’s not been in great form PS coming into this Rider cup and they took a while to decide there Rory and Ian poter but they they saw sense in the end on the perfect greens here at Parish National and told the told the boys to pick it up and move on one to the Americans at the first hle it’s a wicked lie here for PTZ in the r Mark no green to work with I tell you what that is absolutely world world class that shot that’s almost equivalent to a half plug ball bua Watson up the slope web Simpson the ball left but I’ve been amazed at how sometimes these fellas have been able to gouge the ball out of this thick stuff especially coming down the wind looks like he’s got the grass a little bit on his favor oh no didn’t gouge it too well now pter Bubba’s already played from Left Right rough just short he’s had a great lie here he’s got lucky taking advantage come on release release [Applause] excellent long birdy Pap for webson Simpson they’ve both teams hacked their way up the up this hole oh wow web Simpson well they a terrible t- shot a terrible layup ma maroy for the half this would be a hurtful loss and let’s go USA hey nice nice two down after three gory just needs he needs something to happen for [Applause] him bber the fourth second shot up the hill okay please not miss that in a bad spot a pretty straightforward Chip Shot and there’s a birdies for good yeah quick putt down the slope for Rory first to play although the Americans are off the green they are closer this looks good oh [Applause] [Music] Rory now Simpson second to the fifth a two up the right hand drawing back as he always likes to oh it was a it was right at it a little short Rory from the semi rough have to be very careful here the pin’s located in the back of the green and it really does get narrow back there the bunker on the left just waiting to catch a shot that’s anything more than a couple of yards left at the pin and yeah you see Rory just just taking a few yards off the the total distance there just to play a bit safer into the green no damage done from there well he’s got an outside chance here fellas but it’s at least 30 ft here certainly a double borrow starts off going left to right but I’m sure at the hole it might have a chance of going the other way [Music] [Applause] bang on line for him and P a lovely [Applause] [Music] P well for the left hander right to left breaking pup but not by much doesn’t need to really leave the hole given it a good run for Pace lovely effort from Baba Watson does a heck of a lot for his local community Bubba R an article about all the stuff he does kid built a child’s hospital I mean he just does so much for local football teams I saw that for was fantastic wasn’t it so nice to see that yeah unlike the Europeans not giving him this but it’s pretty mean isn’t it drivable Six coming up the RO his t-shot he can definitely reach certainly did and Michel Roy can definitely reach this back pin he’s do something to happen for him is the line good me give me a PS and flew it on the green fantastic fantastic well I think Mr maroy is going to get his first birthday of the day between them class is forever well bub was about 70 yards away nearly 30 yards up the green and that you’ve got to say for a Topline player is a pretty poor shot was a wide a wide for buba Watson such a short shot back over to the sixth eagle part four Ian poter just outside the left Edge got two chances really with the Americans so far away but this is the man you want to have a pup for an eagle tremendous t- shot from Rory it’s got to go though oh that is that’s a shocker from Pon maybe that’s the worst part he’s hit all year yeah which you don’t really see too often do you with a a pter of polter’s caliber he looked utterly mystified spoke to Rory yesterday about his putting he’s elected to trust the line on the ball as well similar to Tommy Fleetwood he said once he gets the line of the ball he just tries to focus on the speed and he’s done a magnificent job there fired up first birdie of the day lovely they played a practice round together yesterday and PTZ was actually giving Rory a bit of help with his cutting they were having long chats in the padag green he was having a close look at Rory’s stroke and only a matter of time before somebody loses an eye and we don’t want to be having that maoy 38 hang hang straight over the flag yeah lovely shot from Rory [Applause] there Simpson on eight really just been outside it’s really blowy just now tough tough conditions for these people St there come back into the bunker oh it’s a little bit lucky difficult bunker shot from there but an easy chip it’s a very tight lie here they’ve got the cut to make that mini scoreboard you see there in the corner of your screen go all blue for the first time at this 2018 Rider Cup this this could be a great moment for mroy turn his whole rer cup around brilliant marar pter now go one up after been two down three holes ago three in a row for the Europeans and we’re up in four I volter has managed to find the middle of the Fairway at the ninth the par five funny play from Bubba Watson electing to it an iron on a five he’s miscued as well with the iron into the rough so that will be a definite layup [Applause] Simpson fourth shot at nine and if it doesn’t go in then Sergio will have a putt to win uh sorry Rory will have a putt to win another hole did marai to double their lead two out America still 5 ft for par it’s got turn left [Applause] B here’s that 5 foot P that you were talking about Sam left for the half of Bubba Watson on the ninth to stay one [Music] down another one slid by for the USA just like that they r four holes on the spin and go from two down to two up it’s a funny old [Applause] game Rory’s already played at 10 straight down the middle web Simpson with the US response another one finding the right rough on 10 it’s really not the place to be [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] or no wind is it much windier this afternoon oh it’s a lot windier this afternoon where we are here on 10 this is probably at its strongest probably a club and a half wind out here right now so for polter coming up the hill to a very tight flag wants to make sure he’s a little long wind off the left well that is a really poor shot that super short sding himself say [Applause] [Music] something he like that one buba but it’s left a difficult got one down the green you just get this one a little sharp and you can knock it off the green the other side got the blade wide open here’s obviously going for some high shot very it’s not a bad play but left a quick PU well you got one of the best bunker players here having a go but again tough shot at least it’s a little bit into the wind off the left he’s got more bunker to carry than there was green to work with if they can get up and down they’ve still got a chance for a half brilliant brilli he said a know mo say said if he actually holds this if he win the [Applause] big part here they’ve just had three Bogies running the Americans just to win the hole and stop the bleeding really missed it Miss it that’s a great half the should have won the whole year but it’s a good half in the end angry there pull to middle of the Fairway they were dangerous to get ahead of yourself but there’s obviously now a possibility of the session being won 40 the USA have done it six times previously Europe have done it twice that was an 87 and 89 massive crowds here I mean there’s twice as many people this afternoon this morning it’s hard to believe this is a beauty War this is right on it great return wonderful response from bbba Watson they need it they gave it to them [Applause] I’m just having a look at the scores here doie the American team this afternoon have only managed to post one birdie between the whole all the four matches Bubba Watson and web Simpson and that was a 40ft putt that went in we need this Rory come on come on no no right [Applause] not short birdie P for web Simpson to knck one back they back to run down very much in this game match number two is on a knife [Applause] edge so the pendulum swings a little bit [Music] got it we can hear here imp p a chat with caddy Terry there just trying to confirm whether the wind was straight from the right hand side or helping from the right hand side so Ian electing to play to the right half of the green and turn it a little come on shot if you go any further left there with that second shot towards that pin that’s cut on the left you’re just it’s silly it’s poor course management so where he’s hit it there pin ey on the right he can’t ask for any more than that I just noted Bub’s shoes a little opportunity here for them wonderful shot for pter lying on his tiptoes aiming almost towards that jumbo screen out to the right hand side of the green [Applause] again slight down slope here for web Simpson we just saw extends and play this it’s very difficult to stop it by the hole bu of 18 ft [Applause] remember Rory for the win at 12 after Ian P’s lovely iron shot him from the semi to here just a little low that part has been a bit cold for RI today a bit cold he’s struggling to read the greens I think doie he seems to get the pace of the cuts pretty good but they’re all just slightly out online power for Bubba Watson [Applause] [Music] [Applause] which will leave Ian poter with about three footer to win this hole pts to get back to in front yeah Sol it was a rock oh the first little fist pump of the chest they’ll get stronger and stronger though he’s probably pack the tube of arer in there in case he gets him bruising on on that chest cuz he really does give it a [Applause] lash first to play at the 13th Ian palter out with the iron crucial to hit the Fairway on this hole as well Walter all the way down the right hand side Club 12’s a bit of an indication that that one is perfect well Club 12 for one that ends up that close to a hazard big surprise [Music] right oh I think he likes it that’s a beautiful line shot for web [Applause] Simpson bit of a an eye open for Des shamba but let’s get to Rory first this is this is not easy he looks like he’s aiming at the green I think he’s taken that on and that’s a very aggressive play well that’s the shot of the day there you go shot of the day no questions asked better than the chipping from Rose better than some of the pups we’ve seen that was unbelievable [Applause] doie yeah really is I mean been a lot of surprises this afternoon Baba yeah it’s it’s a bit of a mystery isn’t it really M how how things have swun around we know how superb and capable this American team are but it’s almost like I don’t know was there something in their lunch cuz they’ve come out as I mean it’s like their twin brothers have come out who haven’t played a lot of golf in the past been a bit bizarre guys I’ve got to disagree with you that shot from maroy shot of the week unbelievable to give P of this birdie pot and it’s makeable and he will just reel to not miss in what a birdie that is there we go there’s the chest [Applause] beating I mean that is just an astonishing birdie astonishing look at even Bubba even Bubba is taking a back and congratulating them what an effort that is great sportsmanship Bubba well done Rory out with the driver on this PA five wind off the right which will suit Rory can start this right up the right side of the Fairway there we go the wind’s going to help it is it going to help it enough to catch the Fairway just about yeah nice bounce and that’ll be a long way up Rory still one of the longest hitters in in the European team if not the longest come on ask to hold its [Music] line oh man the instant you miss these Fairways you have [Music] problems second shot the 14th from position a after the kind little bounce to the left from Rory’s drive only had 230 eight to go after Rory’s 306 yd drive it’s over to web Simpson at 14 third shot however he really doesn’t like this club got stuck which means the club face stayed Way open on him through him hence the ball going out to the right hand side B beautifully played I think if you ask B how he played that he probably doesn’t know he’s just got such a natural Talent he sees it he feels [Applause] it Michael Roy third shot the 14th up and down to win the hole so will have that to go another one in front it’s the truth yeah you can’t relax and say well we’ve got this one not Li with this all of the next strange things happen in this game pter to win 14 though oh oh you little rascal here yeah complete horseshoe that was more than the full 360 that [Music] [Applause] [Music] well it’s gifted the Americans a chance to half the hole on full team but they pop that in and still stay three down with four to play so bang up against it in that match number two and say head to the 15th t [Applause] punching this one in trying to keep it a little bit under the [Music] wind perfect shot that’ll do really aggressive t- shot from Bubba forced the ball a long way up this Fairway so he’s staring the flag down here Simpson just 42 and he has to go at the flag which does bring that water in on that right hand side and the wind up by the green keeps flipping around it comes from the right one minute and then straight into them come on PA come on [Music] right to left put for pulse downhill from there hasn’t quite hit it how far short is that I wonder very hard babba Watson for the birdie pup be a little bit further away than he expected after he hit such a good t- shot that put taking a couple of little Bubbles and it just took enough Pace out of it to to threaten the hole I think he a good enough P to threaten the hole Rory picking up the ball to concede and they’re great buddies they really are they live close together and Florida spent a lot of time together with their wives meloy for the half and and it goes and they are to [Applause] ADI and the pin positions this week have been decided by both the European and the US referees 177 for Rory really wants to hit it 175 you don’t want to go long I’ve just been informed that Tiger Woods has been out on the golf calls this afternoon which is good to hear means that he’s not struggling too badly which is an excellent IR shot from Rory foring the Americans now to have to make two to keep this game alive there’s no chance will I put any pressure on Rory for after the next shot it’ll be in for a two or very close for a conceded three I would imagine think the 80 flight yeah and it’s not the easiest of shots either to get it all the way up there it’s a very narrow section there’s not great deal of whip at that part of the green you know just short of the flag you’re hitting right into an UPS slope so you want to car it all the way there if you can somewhere around your low 80s effort yeah they’ve worked out the wind they’ve worked out the elevation they’ve worked out the club the temperature think he likes [Music] this right [Music] [Applause] I don’t be I don’t wouldn’t be surprised to see BBA Watson play this fairly aggressively he needs to go in to keep the game alive I [Applause] think yep it’s been ConEd it’s another point on the boards for Europe and Rory maroy and Ian bter see off Bubba Watson and web Simpson four and two the match score now all square three matches each with two more for them still to be completed good win for the European pair they were actually two
