[Music] now watch second to right clava will she do the usual Blast Off CL kmar looks like she’s gone off quickly too and the red and white they’re third from right at delate chasing hard nice and steady with those long Irish legs and also going well at the moment is neelson she’s committed well through the first 150 m k m possibly leading she’s up and clava who seems to have judged this one better is she’s saving something for the second half look at adake closing up gradually eating to the gap between herself and they pole K being passed Now by this is the battle for goal down the Home Street the rest of them swimming behind clava coming through for third place but this is the battle K has the years legs the strength and the experience and she Nails it there but look at the Gap behind them 48.9 H for CME it’s a massive personal best exactly half a second than she’s ever run before cat M of Poland makes it gold for her Nation a proud proud Nation who are so so experienced at 400 met running and training the lot of knowledge there a deli a brilliant silver for Ireland through everything at it couldn’t quite have the strength on this occasion through the last 50 m 5 two years ago second today what will she do in a couple of years time the men’s 400 meter final so Roar goes out CER of Italy moving nicely but Dobson of Great Britain and Northern Ireland moving down the back straight secure of Belgium has pulled back a little bit of a stagger on the British athlete of Hungary moving nicely in Lane number three Sito the Italian in seven moving nicely as well round the top Bend this is where you work a 400 m between two and 300 M Doom of Belgium in Lane number eight is the Belgium going to swing into the straight with a lead yes he is Doom leads Sito in second Charlie Dobson of Britain pushing in Lane number six is between Dobson and doom and the gold medal is going to go to Alexander Doom 44.6 seconds out of Lane number eight the world indor champion has smashed his lifetime best brilliant the championship record has gone by nearly half a second Doom strikes gold Dobson 4438 for a lifetime best for Silvera and Bonnie vasia wow brilliant running by Alexander Doom a championship record uh the main goals to get in the final uh that was the the main goal in the beginning of the Season okay we W gold uh at the world in Championship with the the goal stayed the same to to get in the final and see what will happen and uh yeah it was a goal today well they’re away cleanly this time Tor to running extremely well he’s quick out of blocked as befits a sub 10 100 meter man and it’s toru coming into the bend ahead now desulo pushing hard Reese as well having an absolutely fantastic race but Tor two accelerating on the outside M to has come through like an absolute train over the final 80 M unbelievable for M tala he a personal best by almost one1 of a second I don’t think the others in the middle desulo Mato and toru had any idea he was moving so quick they had the beating of him round the bend and it’s going to be mumala confirmed at 2028 Delight for Switzerland toru 2041 and it’s two Swiss men on the podium with William Reese taking the bronze that was a bit like weird I would say because I was really is isolated in in the on the outside Lane uh however I felt like everything was was there for for for a nice time in a nice place and uh and I’ve been able to execute well so I’m just glad I get a a gold medal for my first European championships so that’s nice I have no idea so isace twice but I still don’t know what happened uh I just saw that his name popped up real quick so I knew he won but somehow I didn’t see a lot of uh people in my sight so I know maybe it could be something uh yeah I’m super happy and glad that uh yeah also got a medal few Nations having Str strength in depth we’ll see whether that plays out again in any particular way whether there’s tactics or just focus on individual races here well it all depends as I say on what kind of race we’re going to see Phil Mitchell but this pack is running more and more in single file rert looking more in control as he edges into second place all the Frenchmen together though and suddenly like a swarm of bees they’re closing up ever more onami hitting the Bell 716 into this race now more momentum off the barrier rer in the gold best of Germany running the long way round but it’s arcade right up on the shoulder doesn’t quite go past just yet so glamy still holding on and now trying to fight for space as we saw with J Miki in the 1500 final it was taken over by Kiera McAn in the latter sages and suddenly M who has so little experience in this event he’s out front for France who of course won so many consecutive titles in this event with that mcki benad dominating this event for years at a European level oh it’s so often been France against Spain Germany trying to fight their way through late arrivals to the party here though is Bond off one more barrier to go M against bedani Great spin off the final barrier a French one two M and bedani with Babor closing there well he was nowhere to be seen really with 400 to go but Alexis M the heat with his fourth steeple chase race ever extraordinary how he’s come in and done that 81401 when we were on for 821 Pace similar as you said what Ron and did two years ago he was well beaten not at his best but that was Sensational from Alexis M to reclaim the steeple chase title for France when nitzky of Poland took the lead won the goal made it seem oh so easy loga so what would be a good Mark for her well 6931 already top five are over 70 M and uh Jacobson of Denmark is in that particular place can see trailing the hammer along the ground picking it up you need some bravery you might say to attempt these tricky events like the hammer like the P such incredible confidence in ability that’s needed wow 7268 Rose loger unexpectedly goes to the top of the standings here that’s extraordinary so a good series but by her so high standards as we see the hammer appearing toh touch the cage there did it once again wildly swinging such as the speed that she produces really is Incredible strength that she makes such good use of and I thought that hammer initially might be going out of bounds but now I think it’s an improvement what is this measurement for Lara 7292 her best this year which we said she would have to produce Phil Mitchell in order to try and improve and she goes for now to the top of the standings needed a lot of notes to write down all of achievements here is fantini though again a wild swing there bit of over rotation but still looks incredible oh wow this is ridiculous how many changes of lead are we going to see here fanini was in front then she was pushed down but the Italian crowd loving that here that’s uh one of the loudest noises of the night for fanti improving through the series she absolutely loves it and the speed she produced 7418 you always want that rotational acceleration right through the turns Bravery here to really go for it 74 18 big gap now in front of lario and that is something more than amazing because the stadium here is amazing I don’t want to leave tonight definitely and uh the crowd was incredible all my teammates uh were amazing and I’m pretty sure that in the next days they will be amazing again so it’s incredible being here uh I have a very a good shape but my technique is not perfect so we have to work on it I’m very happy of this results because I didn’t expect it but uh uh this is very encouraging for me also for the technique part and we will see what happen this athlete Karina Stephan is defying the age barrier first attempt at 473 this for the lead again oh and she gets it strengthen the lead I should say boy oh boy that’s a season’s best from Stephan at the age of 34 and she has already now guaranteed herself a fifth medal in succession at a European Championship she was European champion in 2016 in 2018 Silvers from 2014 and last time in Munich in 22 Cordy now has the pressure on second time Clarence of 468 she is in second she’s guaranteed a medal too second time clearance now for her at 473 good speed good ball beautiful ball but she’s playing catch up all the time and still Stephan has the lead the Britain needs to keep focused she needs the next heght 478 Stephan clear scorecard from 4 M and 43 all the way through to that clearance at 473 that could be crucial in terms of where this gold medal is going to go because cord’s had two failures at a first attempt at 68 and 73 well mosa here has had a failure at 473 she’s saving her further attempts at 478 oh and Nails One Nails one my word Stephan has had control throughout the evening hasn’t had a failure but mosa just cannot be underestimated just brilliant from the uh Swiss athlete goodness me this may be consolation for that fourth place at the world endorsed she’s guaranteed a medal we knew she was in great form she won the Marakesh Diamond League a month or so back in 473 that is 478 from mosa and she slaps Down The Gauntlet at the feet of Stephan and cordrey the only other two left in it they’re all three of them guaranteed a medal each and that equals the National Record for mosa uh well if I would have jumped 73 in in third second or third attempt it wouldn’t have helped me uh to to get a better medal like uh the other girls they already jumped it so uh I had to pass because that was the only chance to to like go further and uh so we took that risk and and it paid up third set of decathletes in this 100 meters was very much focusing in on Walter there made sure he was a little bit careful glty going well on the in inside stry coming through in the white and itle also glti does hold on 1055 well that is a fantastic time to open up in a decathlon for mcken STI a personal best 963 points maybe doesn’t have some of the incredible strengths in some individual events it doesn’t necessarily need to now let’s have a look at this this looks like a massive jump once again already with with 779 they look very very close there with the foot placement so Marcus rub what has he done here 8 m and 1 cm well in these circumstances with no sim on ahammer that is a massive jump and lifts him up the standings into second ahead of his teammates underscore time Z frany yeah that’s the the French name for it yes but we’re not French oh but I think you can give it it’s a it’s official name given that it is French speaking well I’m not I speak a bit of French but it’s the frankophone games to me whatever I’m being uh precious mackenson glti moves to the top of the standings at this early stage with their 1627 worth 868 points from one Norwegian to another absolutely great link there scottin if he can clear 217 this would be massive for his competition just maybe now he will really believe that he can win gold and it feels ridiculous saying that part of the way through day one of two in the decathlon but that is Sensational from the 22y old 963 points for that Idol root Carl scottin wter ER guo and Tes the Dutchman on the outside here so guo in the r of Switzerland with a good getaway there up on that Dutch vest Scot through the center then with the flopping hair with a bit of work to do as Balter in front of him but he’s not really competing with vter overall and as ever the different levels in these Heats meaning that your eyes have to be all over the place to see athletes really spread and strong out but M of Estonia The Tall Man there in Lane seven is he going to lead them home Scot I’m gritting his teeth R just behind now and scote on for a really good score behind johannna IR now what’s the time here 4682 showing track side and he will absolutely take that well Johannes um well personal best there and Scott time also does the Same by just over one tenth of a second well what will iner britson do here because he’s not a naturally fast runner he’s jogged off over the first few meters Goodness Me way behind the resting of Brits and he’s seven or eight meters down after 100 what is he playing at this is utterly bizarre this is smart running from The rxman Balter there in second fog losing his position at the moment badly as they go through the bail he back in about Ninth Place and it looks like there’s a fall there and there is and th four men have gone down oh that’s disastrous that is disastrous and the swed I think is really suffering there it looks like he’s hurting it’s pillstrom who’s on the ground the rest of them though easing through and fog back at about Ninth Place now just doesn’t look to have the legs it’s the first six remember who go through by right iner Briton moov moving up towards the top six easing past the pole now badera into fifth place round the outside into fourth very impressive last 300 this fromer britz and he had it under control all the time didn’t he rea the Italian down the home straight in front iner Brits and down the outside and fog run right out of this one bit of a disas this for the Britain as the Rea is just passed by iner Briton there as they cross the line 337 much quicker than the first race but what a shame one done tidy messy race and there will of course be reviews Gore of that big instant just after the Bell where four men went down second semi-final now underway and athletes off on one lap of the track with these barriers to negotiate and FAL like we’ve said for Carson vhol and yakob inab Brit and key hoskinson shouldn’t have to work too hard though of course this is a semifinal so that’s normally where the competition really steps up but such is the talent that B has that she can go through at her own pace really she was given such a tall order to close down the top three in the mixed relay final coming through for a medal but this is the big event for her sometimes it’s hard to say what her her best event is given how good she is over the 400 met flat yika coming through incredibly well for that second spot 5417 comes up on the clock for uh femal here so as expected she’s through to the final but on the international stage she always looks at home and always goes out really hard to making up ground on lamb brugi and going past Nick Schmidt also in the orange Fest making a good getaway through the first half this race baham motoring into this top bend very much Deja Vu if you’ve watched a number of his races over the years and Schmidt edging into contention for that second automatic spot with Tom Spar and with bonvan in the red of Switzerland now Bol in a different postco to the rest of the athletes he’s halfway to Milan and Schmid and bar very close on the line the Dutchman just looked to have got it there and here is Mondo detis first of all 560 this should be a formality and it is yeah momentum to spare in bucket loads as he eases Over the Bar there for the world record holder the Olympic champion the world champion the European Champion too bad he can’t add the Commonwealth to his title but sadly Sweden as yet not in the Commonwealth certainly for a two-lap runner mainly the best of 5292 over the one laap coo was seventh at the European indoor championships in Istanbul last year Well key hodkin just with that one race over 800 so far this year that was at the pre meting ugene on the diamond League circuit 15578 no absolutely she’s super consistent ke I think she’s probably getting a bit fed up with silver medals in major Champion she’ll want to retain her gold here but go to Paris and get a gold as well I saw her in Eugene a couple of weeks back she was a fabulous running 155 looked pretty easy Alex and she should qualify easily from from this one although 6251 is super slow I think we can be 100% sure only the first three will go through from this one key also has a 400 meter personal best 5161 in sabona this year she’s got her her eyes flicking towards the big screen but mainly concentrated on the track ahead of her as well she’s been talking about the fact that it’s a privilege really to be coming in to this season with big big hopes of taking another European title and also maybe Olympic gold as well to be one of the British athletes Tau across all sports ahead of the Paras Olympic games but uh focusing on the job in hand here bouran having a very good race quo battling boyed on by the Home crowd Matias trying to chase for Luxembourg as well who did so well with Vander vacon last night getting into the women’s 100 final the first female track athlete from Luxembourg to ever do so in the history of this competition as I said times won’t matter 20246 easy in the end for hodkinson Bourgeois doing what she needed to do just behind hodkinson trying to stick to her for as long as long as possible and Matias the other automatic qualifier so just pushing out eloisa COO of Italy Tim

  1. Why the hell would you give the result of a race at the beginning of the video/event? Talking about the women’s 800 m semifinal. I don’t understand people that do this, they clearly have no concept of watching sport and drama, just computer geeks!

  2. To think the Swedish man Erik Erlandsson wasn’t going to be allowed to run in the final even though he qualified for it, and he ended up 4th. Imaginge what he may have done with a better track. And he’s only 20 years old and this being his championships debut, that’s insane.

  3. Soooooo happy and proud to see these brown people running from these European countries 🎉❤

  4. 400m W 48.98 – 3rd time in the world this year. Natalia Kaczmarek from Poland PL. Najlepsza teraz, a za chwilę igrzyska <3 (she's the best for now, and IO is coming). Let 48:98 come to Paulino 🙂

  5. poor coverage – where is heat 1 of the 1550m and the heat 1 of Women's 800m? Very Poor and the commentator, Tim Hutching, is useless and clueless when it comes to knowing athletics which is strange for an ex-runner. He seems to be more interested in blow his own trumpet than observing what is going on.

  6. Femke Bol is beating yt girls in Europe & she has the National record over there. Paulina & McLaughlin have better records. College runner's can beat Femke Bol.

  7. Let's remember to enjoy the performance of every competitor and not obsess about who 'wins'. Thanks EA for posting these highlights. Greetings from Canada.

  8. @7:14 min. THIS discipline, the hammer throw, I find amazing. So, you're rotating at a crazy speed, swinging a heavy weight — and then you need to decide when to RELEASE it into that small window that you can't even see when it flashes by your eyes.

  9. What a dope performance…but europeans will never get caught because they are whyte…all the ingrebristens, warholms, femke, doom…all the lot , are on something

  10. 3000m steeplechase French speciality since 1938 , 8 gold medals for the men in European championship. And this year 1 for the woman Alice Finot.

  11. Whoever came up with GBR colours and the people who passed this… should be ashamed of themselves, they are terrible and barely look like its the UK.

  12. The stadium looks empty, that's sad. I remember watching the World Cups and European Championships with my dad and grandpa religiously. Nowadays nobody gives a shit…
