go after Tommy Fleetwood to kick us off in the outright Market at 22 to1 we know of fleetwood’s uh curse quote unquote on American soil of not being able uh being able to secure that elusive PJ to her Victory but that has not been the case case in Europe he’s a seven time winner over there when he was on the European tour and me I mean even though he’s not captured that PGA Tour title there’s still no denying that flew is in the upper echelon of top tier golfers in the world he also enters this week in great form with 10 straight weekend appearances including a third place finish at the Masters um only Scotty and ludvig beat him out that week and Scotty won’t be team it up this week at the Renaissance Club speaking of which flew also finished six here last year and fourth the year prior and then two years before that he lost playoff here in 2020 so clearly course fits not an issue for him and I just think it would also be kind of fitting for fleetwood’s first PJ tour Victory to occur in Europe and I think at 22 to1 it’s worth a wager this week yeah I’m glad you mentioned him he just uh he just missed my outright betting card I’m going to go with Victor hin 22 to1 enhanced win on bet 365 I just love Victor’s fit on Lynx golf courses and four appearances at the Open Championship he’s got four top 15s um I think there’s a number of reason why he plays better golf across the Palm but I like these golf courses where he doesn’t have to chip as much I think a lot of the time on Link’s golf coures we saw him do it at St Andrews um I believe he’ll be able to implement a somewhat similar strategy this week at the Renaissance Club where he’s actually a really really great lag Putter and um a lot of the time on lyns golf courses you’ll be able to putt from off the green instead of Chip which has been jain’s problem All Season uh I love the power that he still possesses off the te he’s coming off a top 20 finish at The Travelers Championship where he gained over five Strokes off the te one of the biggest things I’m looking for this week is that combination of lag putting Elite putting and power off the te that has been a very solid formula in the past at the Renaissance Club particularly under the easier scoring conditions that I think we’re going to see this week so I’m going to go with Victor hin 22 to1 enhanced on bet 365 I love it my next out right is going be Hideki matama at 30 to1 um this would be a second not that there’s any correlation between two other than sponsorship but this could be a second win this year with the Genesis sponsorship he won at the Invitational earlier this year but the reason I bring that up more so is because he has not missed a cut a cut since that win and he’s got five top 12 finishes over the eight tournaments following that win um one of those outings included a six Place uh sixth place finish at the US open at Pinehurst and I just think if if you’re capable of flirting with winning at Pin against that Us open field then there’s nothing stopping him from competing this week um that I mean that’s really at 30 to1 former Masters winner good form he’s been on fire I just like that number a lot on matama I’m gonna go with Windam Clark 55 to1 enhanced win I brought up the combination of power off the tea and putting that is something that Windam Clark has in Spades uh he’s coming off another Strong finish himself at The Travelers Championship he just finished ninth gained over three 3.5 Strokes an approach that was incredibly encouraging to see because the approach play with Windham Clark has been pretty shaky the last couple of months so it’s great to see his irons turn around and start to get better that’s an area of his game that’s been severely lacking um I think the combination of the power that he possesses uh he’s putted he’s always been putting very well recently this year too we know we can count on that area of his game we know that we can count on his ability to bomb the ball off the te this is a golf course with a very low Miss Fairway penalty that iron play was really just the lone piece that was missing with Windham Clark’s game over the last couple of months it seems like that’s starting to get figured out and it’s trending in the right direction again after that performance at The Travelers so I’m G to go with Windam Clark 55 to one to pick up his second victory of the season I like in Iron plays a good transition because my next outright guy is going to be Cory Connor at 45 to1 um especially Scotty lless field he is one of the best ball Strikers um that we will see this week and just on that alone I almost feel like 451 is too good to pass up but it’s also just Conor is because of how good his approach approach game is and his iron play is his floor is so high he’s made the weekend 25 straight tournaments 13 top 25 finishes over that stretch so at the minimum he’s going to be at least probably around on the weekend and maybe towards the top and that’s enough for me to justify 45 to1 and I also like that uh he’s improved year-over-year here he made his first appear in 2022 and he finished 61st but then last year he finished 19 so he got the first four rounds under his belt showed a marked improvement and then so if we’re going to build upon how good he is or has been this year I think that’s just reste for further Improvement and if we’re getting to the top 10 then that makes that 45 to one number very live so that’s uh my third outright winner in Corey Connors I’m gonna finish up our outright section for me with Thomas dietre 90 to1 enhanced on bet 365 I mentioned that driver putter combo that I’m really looking for this week um those are the two areas of the game that Thomas D true really excels he’s got a ton of power off the te uh he’s a great putter as well he’s played well at this golf course in the past uh and you look at some of the other golf courses that dri’s played well at one of them that comes to mind is Memorial Park which is actually uh the only other golf course on the PGA tour that they see regularly that Tom do has designed Thomas diet finished top five at Memorial Park this year in Houston uh in his debut appearance there and that was another Golf Course where you know lower Miss Fairway penalty bomb it out there off the tea make a bunch of putts one of the Staples of Tom do golf course is uh he gives you a fair amount of space off the te and then creates these really interesting and subtle uh Contours on his greens and I think that that’s why that combination that we see at Houston everywhere that we see at the Genesis Scottish open every year that combination of a lot of power off the tea and great putting um just seems to always work well at these Tom do golf courses and I think it’s going to work well for Thomas dri once again absolutely I think so too because I have him top 10 at plus 700 um at bet 365 so dri just to build a little bit on what you’re saying he spent years on the European tour before joining the PGA Tour full-time in 2023 so he has a ton of experience at this course and good experience like you said finished runner up following a three-man playoff here in 21 he followed that up with a top 10 finish in 2022 um and that was the first year that this tournament actually became co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour um so he can prove that he can play at this um venue competitively competitively both when it was just European tour and now with the PGA Tour guys coming over um and then also just he finished fourth at the PGA Championship this year so you know he can handle these tougher fields and yeah no sheffler but this is still a tough field this week and um I just think there’s a lot of upside there for at seven to one for top 10 for D3 love that play I’m going to go to the top 10 Market as well and go with Brian Harmon plus 425 top 10 uh we know that he loves Lynx golf he is our defending Champion golfer of the year when he won that Open championship at Royal Liverpool by five Strokes I think he will be sufficiently inspired once again to come back to some Lynx Golf and play some golf across the pond I know that he doesn’t have the requisite power to dominate this golf course off the tea but Brian Haron is still a great driver of the ball he is coming off a finish a top 10 finish at The Travelers Championship where he gained over five Strokes off the T and he’s Elite he’s an elite lag putter as well right he’s one of the better lag Putters in this field we’ve seen him gain nine Strokes putting before on these slower Fescue base greens he looked incredible I mean the main reason why he was able to win that Open championship last year by so many strokes is because he led the field in putting I would expect him to become to come close to Leading the field in putting once again and I think if we can get anything close to that similar putting performance that we saw last time Brian Harman was on F skew greens coupled with some strong iron play um and that off the tea game that has been working for him all season I think Brian Haron is a very safe bet to finish in the top 10 this week at plus 425 love it I have to go back to the outright Winter Market one last time and that’s Max hom at 60 to1 this is one of my favorite BYO numbers I’ve seen for any golf for this season that’s just kind of 61 for a guy like homo for his ceiling I think it’s kind of ridiculous he’s a six-time tour winner and he just finished third at the Masters a couple months ago to put it in perspective um at this tournament last year he was 30 to one and that field had Scotty in it so the reason that the odds are double this year is because since the Masters he has struggled he’s only finished inside the top 25 once over his past five tournaments however that’s only a five tournament uh sample size these swings can happen to any golfer the ceiling is still there yes he’s towards his floor right now but he just needs one boom week and he can absolutely contend with anyone in this field so then for in my eyes in the long run he’s far closer to being a 30 to1 golfer than he is a 60 to1 golfer so I mean if you’re giving me 61 at I’m taking that every every week yeah I love that play I’m gonna go with another player that I I don’t really know if I have the uh the confidence him to win the actual golf tournament but I would call him for sure a bwell candidate as well and that’s Jordan spe plus 475 top 10 uh we saw some flashes with spe last week at the John de classic he shot that eight under 63 on Saturday it seemed like all aspects of his games were working for him then he came back to Earth a little bit on Sunday fell 20 spots down the leaderboard into a tie for 26 still relatively speaking one of his better finishes of the season one of his better ball striking performances of the Season spe gained over 2.5 off the te and 2.5 on approach and we know that this is a player that has consistently been inspired by Lynx golf that has consistently raised his Baseline on length golf lengths golf has traditionally brought out the best in Jordan spe that creativity unquantifiable aspect that has worked well so well for spe in the past why he was able to win an Open championship in 2017 the same reason why he is finished top 25 and six straight open championships dating back to his win at Royal burkdale in 2017 17 I saw just enough from him from a ball striking perspective where the driver looked good again he was making some putts I think the fact that speed’s driver has been the most reliable aspect of his game this is a golf course that I really do believe that you can take advantage off the te and we if we can just get anything close to a reasonable putting performance from spe um he’s puted incredible well on these slow Fescue Greens in the past I I think we might be starting to see a little bit of a weight season turnaround for Jordan spe yeah I would absolutely love to see that as well um so I’m going to go after Matthew pav um Pavone in the top 10 Market at plus 850 at bet 365 so I’m going to reference the US Open again because I was talking about that earlier if a player finishes fifth at Pinehurst against SE field then I think that’s something they can do this week and that’s what Pavone did um and plus 850 on his top 10 prop to me is just too big of a number to pass up he’s hit he’s cashed the top 10 in nine of his past 23 tournaments between the PGA and European tour obviously competition is not as stiff over in Europe but it’s still good and a similar result could absolutely occur this week he finished 36 here in 2022 and he’s far and a way a better golfer now than he was two years ago so I could see an elevated performance from that number this week and at plus 850 I would waiter that he finishes inside the top 10 love that I’m going to go uh with a couple more long shots into the top 20 Market with Robert McIntyre top 20 plus 220 uh no surprise that Bobby Ma has had a lot of success on Link’s golf courses over the course of his career he was the runner-up finisher last year here to Rory mooy he has also had two top 10 finishes in four appearances at the Open Championship and I think you know part of the reason why he plays so well on lyx golf courses it’s not necessarily just because he’s from Scotland but you know I think that combination of driver putter on slower greens plays beautifully here for Bobby Mack I mean that was the formula last year as well right like Bobby Mack is another player that hits the ball an incredibly long way off the te and we know that he has that Spike ability that upside with his putter we saw him win a tournament earlier this season at Hamilton Golf Club where he gained over seven strokes putting um I think his power is going to play here once again I love guys that are super super familiar on Lynx golf courses and have played a lot on Lynx golf course in the past it looks like we’re going to get a fair amount of rain over the next two days and I just don’t know how many practice rounds these guys are going to get on this golf course so give me the guy that has recorded a second place finish year last year that has two other top 20s at the Renaissance club I’m going with Bobby Mack I thought this was an incredible number plus 220 just to finish top 20 I absolutely love that he actually he should have won last year too that was a crazy uh comeback by Rory at the on the back but um I’m gonna go to the first round leader market and go after Xander schle at 22 to1 so this play is just a way for me to be financially tied to one of the tournament favorites at a much more generous payout that outright odds of plus 850 that number is a little too short for my liking regardless of how well he profiles for this event he won here in 2022 and he’s obviously only improved sense and he’s now a major Champion he in my opinion he’s the second I think I think most people’s opinions as well he’s the second best player on tour right now behind Scotty and as mentioned earlier uh Scotty will not be there this week um speaking of which Scotty is the only player on tour this season to have a lower average first round score than Xander which is another reason why I prefer him in this market at 22 to1 rather than his outright one at plus 850 love that uh I think Xander is uh always a threat as well so I’m glad that you were able to include him in the show I’m going to go with Eric Van Ruan plus 320 top 20 uh EVR is coming off a sixth place finish at the rocket mortgage where he gained over 3.5 Strokes off the T and 3.5 Strokes with his putter he has that Elite combination of driver upside and putting UPS side that I talked about with Thomas dietre he actually has a very similar skill set to your Tommy dri’s your Bobby Max um he has that power off the te that I’m looking for and we know that he has the upside with his putter to gain over five six Strokes with this putter he may not need to do all that much with this putter to finish in the top 20 that’s why I thought plus 320 was such an appetizing number on him but he’s got a surprisingly really strong Lynx resume as well this is another guy as you mentioned that has some DP World Tour experience um he’s played a lot of golf uh across the pwn he actually played here both in 2020 and 2021 when this was still a DP World Tour event finished six and 14th and he’s also got two top 20 finishes at the Open Championship as well so Eric van ran just has a really really underrated links resume um he’s playing great golf at the moment right now both with the Putter and with the drive and I just thought plus 320 was a pretty big number on his top 20 price I’m glad you keep mentioning the driver because that’s a perfect transition for my next first round leader play and that’s minwu Lee at 45 to1 at bet 365 so I mentioned earlier how dri um lost in a playoff here in 2021 back when this tournament was only European tour well mostly European tour guys um the guy who won that tournament was MMI so clearly corfit is not a concern he’s a three times a three-time European tour winner and he’s now starting to Peak on the PJ tour as well he hasn’t finished lower than 26 in six straight tournaments and that culminated in a runnerup performance um in his last outing uh during the racket mortgage classic uh Lee has gained true total Strokes in each of his each of those six tournaments while also substantially gaining distance off the te over the field um we keep talking about drivers so last season three of the top five finishers here ranked in the top seven them on the field in both driving distance and strokes gained off the te the only two stats or metrics where such a dominating trend developed here last year Lee ranks third on tour this season and average driving distance we know we know he can pound the hell out of the ball off the te and I think that’ll set him off set him up nice this week the reason I’m doing him first round leader Market instead of the outright one is because he’s still pretty young in his Tour Journey so far and I just I’d be scared if I enter Sunday and it’s like him and then it’s like Rory and Xander right like final pairings or whatever that would concern me of being able to close those guys out but I think there’s less pressure on Thursday and they’ll uh benefit Lee more so that’s why I like him in that Market at 45 to one I’m gonna go with a another great driver of the ball in Nikolai Hoggard plus 200 in the top 30 Market uh Hoggard you know is a former Ryder CER he’s a great driver of the ball he’s got that putting upside as well he finished sixth at this golf course last year uh he’s got a lot of success and experience playing across the pond he’s been a DP World Tour member in the past he’s started to tr translate that over to some bigger events in the US he was in the mix for at the Masters for a while this year before fading on Sunday but you want to talk about that same skill set that I’ve been uh waxing poetically on about at this point that Eric Van R has that Robert ma Robert McIntyre has that uh Thomas dietry and wendham Clark has as well um Nikolai Hoggard has that at a far discounted price and I think there’s a lot more volatility to his game as well but that’s why you’re getting two to one on him to just finish in the top 30 Market love it my final first round leader play is going to be Aaron Ry at 55 to one so I know this kind of just goes every against everything we’ve both been saying with the last couple guys with the bombing off the te but it’s just at at this number 55 to1 seems to me is just too long on a guy despite his uh lack of distance off the te because ry’s peing at the right time he’s uh I mean he’s won this event before so we know he can still win here regardless of his lack of distance off the te so I need to get that out of the way first won in 2020 back when he’s on the European tour but also like Lee R rise peing at the right time he’s made the weekend eight straight tournaments three top seven finishes in the process um so I think I just think that’s a good flyer to take and he also ranks fifth among this field in first round scoring average on tour this season and so again that’s just why I like him in the first- round leader Market at a price of 55 to one which is a pretty big payout I’m gonna join you in the first round lader market for my final play with bayang hung on he is a third third place finisher at this event last year and you know as we talked about the minwu Lee formula uh the Robert McIntyre formula he was fairly dominant off the tea in his third place finish here last year he kind of came up just short of that Robert McIntyre Rory mooy duel down the stretch um but again third in Strokes gain off the te third in driving distance minw Le is one of the best drivers of the ball on the PGA tour he’s one of the longest drivers of the ball on the PGA Tour the reason why I don’t know if I have as much confidence in him for a super highend finish a top five finish or an outright or a top 10 finish is I don’t know if he can make make enough putts to to keep up in this tournament from start to finish I know that he can do it with the flat stick for one round he’s had some incredible putting rounds this season he’s had some good Spike putting performances this season but there’s still a lot of volatility involved with this putter I thought 60 to won in the first round later Market was a great number on a player that I know has the upside to really compete at this golf course that’s why he shown us he could do it there last year um and that’ll do it for our Best Bets episode for the Scottish open before we get out of
