The DP World Tour heads to Golfclub München Eichenried for the BMW International Open, the final event of the European Swing, the fourth of five Global Swings on the 2024 Race to Dubai. There’s plenty at stake at the sixth and final counting event of the Swing, with a spot at the Genesis Scottish Open up for grabs to the Swing Champion as well as places in The 152nd Open at Royal Troon for the top five players not otherwise exempt on the Race to Dubai. Current Swing leader Guido Migliozzi will be teeing up this week hoping to retain his position at the top above Nacho Elvira, while Thriston Lawrence returns to defend the title he won last year and last week’s champion Marcel Siem is among a number of German stars that will be hoping to impress on home soil. Away from the top of the rankings, one of the biggest focuses of the week will be on Bernhard Langer, the most successful German golfer of all time, who is set to make his 513th and final appearance on the DP World Tour. Ryan Fox will also make his third appearance in a regular DP World Tour event this season as he begins a three-week stretch in Europe and he is joined by 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, who won his maiden DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in 2012 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof Cologne.

Tom Lewis is just looking to cement his place on the DP World Tour and he’s doing his best to go about that such a good player multiple winner won a couple of times in Portugal back in the day he’s a Mercurial player isn’t he he sort of disappears for a while and then when he’s good he is really great third at nine for Chelly back right flag today uh he’s found it lovely approach shot oh this is the same part that Patrick Reed missed to the left didn’t see the break from the right that’s a better line setting off this is a good putt this is a great putt that is a magnificent Eagle wow what a move from Matthew Southgate that really does get him going and the dream of his first win now is fully alive oh Beauty oh in you go oh the delayed spin there I thought was going to take that right into the center of the hole oh this is hugely necessary and does yeah yeah that’s really good you got a start somewhere you’ve got to put the break on be intered to see what this fell does today I like his game swings it beautifully but like an absolute World beat up he’s a hole or two ahead you might see him make a charge It’s just tough to make a charge in these conditions South African Thomas Akin first time we’ve seen him today par part on five and he’s made it very nice three wins in the DP world I last one of those coming 10 years ago in the Africa open you saw he wedge on the last 129 this is a lot shorter he should have bured the last but didn’t look at that no spin at all little dead arm shot that’s clever you yeah almost exactly the same length as he missed at the last hole so he’s given him chances now gently downhill slightly out of the right beautiful stroke brilliant great reply from Y and Ferguson just as he’s joined at the top he makes a birdie of his own Tom Lewis this for aart at nine oh he’s got it Peter’s up ahead on the golf course [Applause] yes very good told he’s the man for a charge he’s got absolutely no fear at all [Applause] Peters yeah he carries a three and a five with the get there yeah absolutely can I mean this guy been he should be top 50 in the world he should be at the master every year think it is the hardest thing in the world to do in golfing terms but it just has to be done correct stay in the present do not think ahead Thomas bjor putting yes well [Applause] [Music] done all right go on in you go thank you very much up and down move on son always look like a a yeah well there you go little bit of skid a little bit of check and a little bit of release back in the starts he’s pretty clever around this area yeah very tidy wasn’t [Applause] it slow one up the green left to right might straighten oh goodness man out of the top drawer for m it backto back Bobbies and all of a sudden he’s G themselves have a sniff right see if we can take the spin off that [Music] one beautiful [Applause] wow every chance is it quite flat on this top at that just just what I said beautiful number 270 can he get it on that back step ooh this this is not ugly oh [Applause] wow they r a cup bodess well for us two proper players battling it out coming home this is going to be a fun afternoon on this back n down to biry P know things are happenening U you fany Marcel with nine holes left to play um y reachable off the T yeah you see there 273 it is today to get to this flag oh my goodness me what a response Conor sign back to Ferguson here off a serious UPS slope so very difficult what about this shot what about that shot of the day shot of the week a shot of the we magnificent ball so far above his feet you know it’s going to go left when you hit those shots and well that might just be one of the best shots he’s ever hit in his golfing career when the heat is on sign to get to 15 under difficult against the collum really inhibited the back swing but what an effort a brilliant week once more surely a win around the corner he’s such a talented player doesn’t really seem to show any weakness he’s learning his trade beautifully another fine week great R Bar 674 and a little blip over there at 50 missed a really short pot but recovered well another beautifully balanced golf swing that’ll do yes indeed it will that’s that’s really good and getting better he’s playing like a winner lumping the pressure on he’s got it what a time what a time to make a birdie on the toughest hole on the golf course all week and what a statement that is right now at 18 we do bank account or the good did it is what a performance out in 35 back in 33 a wonderful little Eagle there to finish for 68 13 under last chance to enjoy the thump that this man creates when he hits it oh he’s walking he’s talking and why not that is the best we’ve seen so far last three holes oh he’s done it look at what it means to him what of finish as you quite rightly said another Eagle on the 18th what a comeback out in 36 back in 32 look at that four under for the last three 16 under in second place all in his own at the moment oh it’s just what the doctor Ed that is a superb putt on the 18 pole you can breathe what a sigh of the Lea there it is what a terrific there for Ferguson he secures 18 under Smith can’t get to that number it’s win number three and his 101 appears look at what it means to him there are tears Goodness Me nearly two years since his last victory in the isps Handa Invitational Yan first of all congratulations for winning the 35th edition of the BMW International open this is your third Victory we could see the emotion there uh right at the end and we know it’s not been an easy last couple of months I mean what does this mean to you I honestly can’t believe it the last four holes I felt like I was in a dream I just didn’t think that I was this was actually happening it was crazy I was hitting it so well I was hitting it so much further than usual um I just felt like I just wanted to do it um for my dad my mom my sister my brother at home like you know uh I just I love them so much and I want to play every shot I hit I hit with him in mind all the time so just um it’s such a hard game you know I’ve been moaning like mad the last two months and was also been sick and obviously the exemption with us um just so much weight off my shoulders and um yeah I’m so happy and can’t believe it I guess you just mentioned it there the exemption into the open it confirms your spot I mean growing up what has that tournament meant to you and knowing that you’re going to be teing it up obviously teen up and TRS just yeah the open championships tournament that everyone wants to play in um and you know I feel like I could I could do well there and yeah the Scottish open next week too it’s just such exciting times for me um but honestly like for right now I just can’t stop thinking about like my mom and dad my brother s and stuff so just can’t wait to go home and see them but you know what I’m sure they’re tuning in right now we’re all so proud of you so well done thank you thank you very much 27y old J Ferguson a two shot winner in the end another 27y old and divid mutzi Sensational finish for him to 16 and Jordan Smith just couldn’t do it when it mattered finish his tied second 1. Super happy for Ewan!! Hopefully lead to even more wins that he deserves too! Be cheering you on at Troon!

  2. Tom Lewis a mercurial type of player ? (mercurial = subject to sudden or unpredictable changes of mood or mind ) I think he has made it into top 30 just once at end of season on 15 years on the European Tour and Consistently mostly in the 100 + position. Mercurial I don't think so ?

  3. There's a pub somewhere with Jimmy Bullard chewing the ear off the regulars at the bar for the past 5 hrs with how he played Gleneagles with Ferguson and shot under par inspiring him to this victory

  4. What an amazing tournament, can’t wait for next year and hope even more of the big names will show up! I was the flag marshal on tee 6 today and really enjoyed watching every single tee shot 🙂
