11th year starts right now I’m Andrew Zen the host of inside TBT joined by Fox Sports John Fanta and we’re going to be breaking down TBT 2024’s bracket matchups and a whole lot more with some special guests but first things first here’s where we are going this year for TBT 2024 July 19th to August 4th Lexington Houston Cincinnati Butler Dayton Louisville Pittsburgh Witchita and we’re heading back to Philadelphia for tbt’s championship week you may notice that little Fox Sports logo down at the bottom that’s because this year TBT has partnered with Fox Sports and here’s how to watch TBT this year three games on Fox 16 on FS1 eight on FS2 two on BTN and the rest on the tournament.com watch TBT for free of course the $1 million winner take all tournament our favorite part of the summer summer Hoops as mentioned I’m here with my guy John Fanta who’s gonna have a great time with TBT I can already tell John how we feeling about TBT 2024 Andrew cannot wait and at Fox Sports we are thrilled to bring it to the great fans of this event this is a summer Institution for basketball for this sport which is a year- round sport TBT has aided in making basketball even bigger during July and then the first part of August $1 million $1 million and 64 teams in that pursuit in that Pursuit for the City of Brotherly Love to make it there in the semifinals Philadelphia at the Dak the daskalakis Athletics Center great venue for hoops and we’re going to Crown a champion there and I think there’s so many storylines in this event every single year the star power is real the drama is real and you want to know how the drama is real the elim ending which I’ve I’ve had some recent experience now with is absolutely outstanding I think it is the only way to end a basketball game it is the best way to end a basketball game and we get to do it in TBT here I cannot wait my friend it’s great to join you you just fired me up and I got something right off the bat to fire the fans up you ready for this breaking news for the first time in TBT history all host teams and local Regional teams will have an opportunity to have homec court advantage in tbt’s quarterfinals you see here these are the matched up regions Butler Pittsburgh Houston witcha Cincinnati Dayton Lexington Louisville every Monday we’ll be updating the ticket sales because that’s the tiebreaker if both teams Advance the tiebreaker determines where the quarterfinal is important to note that Pittsburgh cannot host due to scheduling conflicts but that’s new this year every team has an opportunity to have homec court advantage personally I think the biggest storyline here is a Louisville Lexington La Familia versus The Ville potential matchup that’s got to have a guy like you excited well absolutely because Louisville and Kentuck fans they’re crazy about one another right the drama never ends between those two so they have something else to compete in they’re gonna be competing in attendance rup Arena Freedom Hall those areas those markets Andrew second to none in their passion for their teams and if you look at those two programs now they got even more passion because over the offseason they’ve had some coaching changes and as a result I just think that the alumni bases have come even stronger together you think Mark Pope is gonna have his La Familia ready to go with this Kentucky team now taking the floor we’ll get to the names but the star power is insane the vill Louisville basketball is ready for a Renaissance right how about the vill starting it here this summer how about it getting started right now in TBT I just think that that’s what makes it so cool and here’s the thing to every Everybody hosting to everybody hosting these games you got big shoes to fill if you’re going to take over the TBT record because there’s no better fans in this event than shocker fans in Witchita they fill that building up they set a record last year with well over 7,000 that we’ll get to it matters and we’re going to see you fans will make a difference in how this event ends up going and who ends up ultimately winning that $1 million prize well there you go fired up if you’re watching this between you and I the volume needs to be turned down because that’s how excited you and I are about TBT but let’s begin our region breakdown starting first with Louisville hosted by The Ville the two seed we’ll get to them in a second up top team diesel yes Shacks TBT team they have the number one seed they’ll take on team DRC the 4 five matchup run DFW vers team fet the three six matchup sideline cancer who’s been in every year of tbt they’ll take on the vbl winner more on that in a second and then the Ville Louisville alumni as we’ve talked about will take on United the bellerine alumni who actually play in Freedom Hall that’s their home court so a lot there but let’s start with first the vbl winner because you have a lot more information on that yes we do have breaking news here on the bracket reveal show you saw vbl well that’s the Venice basketball league and at TBT we’re proud to partner with Puma Puma Hoops awesome well part of our partnership with Puma means that Puma is putting together a great event that the Venice basketball league is doing they’re doing their own tournament right the winner of that tournament the Puma vbl tournament will then advance and what’s your reward you’ve got to meet sideline cancer a TBT state in this Louisville region so I’m fascinating to see who emerges out of the vbl tournament and our partnership with Puma but a really cool added Dimension to this region yeah we’ve had stuff like this in the past and and this is kind of the coolest version of it and you’re not getting an eight seed you’re not having to play the overall number one seed you’re getting the six seed which tells us that there’s some confidence in puma in the vbl that the teams in this tournament are going to be pretty dang good and we’ll have some more information on our socials later of how you actually could enter that tournament and how the fields getting put together but before we get to all the rest of the brackets and even the Lexington bracket we’re going to bring in a few guys that if you’re Louisville fans out there we think you’ll know them Russ Smith and mrees harrold we got to start with this Russ this is year two for you TST and you got this guy next to you getting his hair done as a teammate this year how about that what’s up with it what’s up with it that’s dope that’s dope that’s dope you guys I I’m so excited to see you guys in TBT and and Russ I was talking with your coach Rick patino on Sunday and he immediately texted me back and said Rus diulus and I I agree with him that’s that’s an all-time nickname you know the the passion of Louisville fan speaks for itself and and obviously coach patino and you guys were part of a very special time for Louisville how much does that matter to you Russ that that that history and now writing some new history while still wearing a Vil Jersey I I think it’s a I think it’s a lot of fun I think it’s uh I always say nostalgic for for those watching um that’s that’s been like a key word I believe when we all played hooped with each other last year we were out there having a lot of fun with each other and that that kind of was at the Forefront I I think I believe this year is a little kind of a little different um we we for sure want to have fun with each other but uh this time we want to try and get it together and see if we can do something something special again this is a competitive tournament we understand that that’s why we playing so uh we want to have fun but but also we want to keep it competitive now montre you’re new to the equation you’re a new addition here and and by the way we can’t wait to see the the finished product I think this is the first time I’ve I’ve been in on an interview while somebody is uh is getting their hair done but as you go as as you were thinking about this tell me tell us the behind the scenes story who reached out to you how’d this come down for you to say you know what I’m done watching I’m going to be part of the vill who recruited you how’ it happen um well I actually went to uh the games last year um was able to get out there and actually watch and support the guys man to get back in there and see Russ Payton um shanu Shane uh Wayne you know a lot of guys I actually came up with playing you know this Collegiate game with um so just being out there able to support and actually you know see those guys get out there enjoyed and just um you know leave it all on the floor playing the again basketball man that’s always how it always been around the Ville that’s how it always um it’s really going to be man you know even with all the the setbacks that they have and stuff like that man that that’s a college town that’s a college City and um the fans rally behind it you so uh for me to go out there and actually watch it um with them to be in the region in Louisville man it was a great experience man I love uh being back in the field every time I’m back there um my kids um grandparents are you know from there and actually still live there so I go back there Faithfully a lot um but you know to be a part of this team um and to you know try to do something special with these guys it’s a tremendous honor um you really the owner of the team um Jordan who was coach P’s assistant and you know I keep in contact with Jordan um throughout my many years that I’ve been in the league um you know he talked to me uh kind of presented me with the opportunity um and I talked to him with you know coming off the injury of where I’m at and you know working to get back into the league and to get myself back into the position to you know come on and help another NBA team um I’ve been out of the game for a year and a half man so um it’s all just a a building aspect to you know get me back to where I’m ultimately trying to get back to which is the NBA um but to actually you know be able to come out here and play the game of basketball and um be a part of a tournament that I’ve watched for so long because I have so many friends and you know teammates that have been a part of it um it’s just a great feeling man so it’s going to be a lot of fun and I just can’t wait to get out there and just get out it with my guys well well I got to ask you what give give Louisville fans a taste because all I hear these legendary stories about you know hey The Ville practices right what was the coach patino practice like it’s different man it’s definitely one of those things and one of those situations where you’re you know you’re going to be coached and um you’re going to learn how to play the game the correct way um I mean it’s it’s crazy that you know when I tell people that you know coach ran the practice with a microphone on man like he sat at the top of the you know his coaches um balcony and Overlook the practices and um our practices was treated like games man uh everything that we did we did it in in game shape in game form man so we practiced the the same press that y’all seen us do all games um whether it was a three-point shot made or a two-point shot we practiced that the end of the game plays that we had we practiced it I mean everything was Lally like structured and drilled to a t um and you know it’s one of those things that you know Coach P has a reputation that he lives up to it um he’s a he’s a real true coach coach and one of those Old School coaches that you know he don’t really care about all the aspects and the things that you did um coming into his program you know once you’re inside um his program is is his way of the highway man I’ve seen it happen with a lot of people um sh I seen Russ get kicked out out the team at halftime so before we get you guys out of here Russ last year I asked you the same question this year it’s back and bigger Mr and Mrs bourbon there’s going to be some celebrations if you guys win TBT and according to my sources you can now get Mr and Mrs bourbon across the country so before we get you out of here you talk a little bit about that and how people all over can celebrate if the Ville wins TBT this C before the bille win let them know Russ no dog it’ll be it’ll be amazing uh we you know we have the uh we were able to ship to you online through our DTC um we we have the the the labels for fans and we have the the special uh Single Barrel that that we did for the the TBT the labels are amazing Al so all the TBT fans and supporters and and higher ups can can go and get that but throughout the city uh we’re I we’re doing both regions right so we’re doing Freedom Hall and rup Arena so it’s going to be really big for for those who haven’t tried the the product to to now try the try the product so we’re we’re very happy about that we’re very happy about our our and um if you support the TBT you must get the the TBT official Single Barrel label is going to be amazing if the Ville or when the Ville wins you got to get your hands on a Ville label and if somehow by the the the basketball Gods we come up short maybe vers D2 way makers 36 woko Showtime wford alumni versus the no and then the big story here La Familia the Kentucky alumni will take take on 305 Ballers formerly Athletics Miami how about this Kentucky team though Willie colly Stein Eric bledo Andrew Harrison Maris Teague I mean what a team of absolute Legends yeah you’re talking about All-American Talent Here Andrew you are talking about Willie colly Stein was a consensus first team All-American in 2015 he was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year I mean that that’s just amazing for him to be part of this Eric bledo you’re talking about a guy who is just uh made a living as well off being a defensive pest off playing so so hard I think one of the interesting things about this too lot Familia they’re gonna have rup on fire it’s going to be mustsee TV on Fox across our networks you notice that they’re a two seed and this isn’t the only time that you see the host as the two and that’s because of tbt we like to to pay off those teams who have had success Rich success in this event so so as you saw there heard that the Marshall alumni they’re one of the fan favorites and most exciting teams in TBT they’re coming off a year in which they went to the TBT semifinals JP tokoo Xavier Munford mford is a guy I really like in this event uh was with Rhode Island and and had a lot of success there at the end of his college career a Dan Hurley guy as well know they’re the one seed for a reason they have had a lot of success in this event you could get a Kentucky versus wford woko Showtime wford matchup in the second round so that’s really interesting could there be some Revenge there that lot familiar is looking for uh woko led by wford Legend Fletcher McGee a lot of excitement and hype there but just to give you a little more here’s a quick message from Willie colly Stein what’s up guys this Willie colly Stein oh hly Stein with a spectacular I’m excited to to be representing La Familia um and the Kentucky team and the TBT I’m just getting back to the roots and um putting in some work and then also you know having a chance to play in front of all them fans again it’s going to be amazing well there you go there’s a message from Willie cystein I’m excited the fans are excited let’s move on to the Houston Regional of tbt you just mentioned John that we reward teams who have proven it and no better example of that than we are bleed green the north Texas alumni getting the one seat here despite forever cougs Houston Alumni hosting in their first ever year we are bleed green after their championship appearance last year they’ll take on the LA ignite in the 4 five matchup program NYC for autism will take on Challenge ALS Challenge ALS has had Darren Collison coached them in years past but this year he’s playing and then in the 36 matchup we’ve got the enchantment New Mexico alumni against one a Bronco Boise State Alumni a lot of alumni teams here as we round it out with the host forever cougs Houston Alumni they’ll take on Austin’s own the Texas alumni the battle for Texas happening in TBT Houston Alumni versus Texas alumni what what are your thoughts there well that that is going to be a lot of fun I mean you’re talking about forever cougs and they’re making their debut led by former Houston players Rob gray gayen Robinson Fabian white Devin Davis then know you turn the corner to Austin Zone you’ve got Kerwin roach and Jacob young this is Big 12 City and it’s not the only Big 12 alumni that we’ve got and if you know anything about the Big 12 it’s this Rich passion great fan bases tough hard no guards that is a theme but we are bleed green if you’re going to take this region title you’ve got to go through we are bleed green they are the number one seed for a reason they’re coming off a run to tbt’s championship and Brandon Jefferson the TBT 2023 MVP Jordan Stevens back as well uh you’ve got to be able to find a way to go through them and of course a staple to TBT in this Challenge ALS led by Shawn Marshall and you got Darren Collison suiting up so tons of storylines in that region and if you get through it congratulations you might have to go to Witchita and play the best fans in TBT the aftershocks fans witch State they’ll start off against Midtown Prestige but this loaded region look at this Kansas State Alumni in the 4 five matchup Purple Rain against team Colorado Colorado alumni Florida TNT versus LA cheaters in the 36 and Mass Street the Kansas alumni will take on RAM up the Colorado State Alumni new addition to the field this Kansas alumni Team new as in a week ago they weren’t in now they are headlined by Frank Mason making his TBT and Mass Street Kansas debut we got to talk about that team we have to talk about that team and for good reason Mass Street yes you said it they are in fact back but some tweaks to who they’re going to be as a team and to what they’re going to do with with in terms of their leadership Frank Mason I mean this is a guy who played several years in the NBA uh spent last year in the French league and he is someone who has had just an illustrious career a guy that that turns into a really really special Town one of the best players in the Big 12 and then you look at Thomas Robinson not one but two El amending winners in his career he was the consensus National Player of the Year a consensus All-American selection during his senior season at Kansas so that team is absolutely stacked Andrew and I just I’m really intrigued to see a couple of guys who have won Big 12 Player of the Year honors Mason and Robinson Mason a Bob Koozie Award winner uh multiple all Big 12 selections that team take the floor but I I think in this region what I’m looking at is Purple Rain versus Team Colorado that’s a 4 five match up that’s gonna be a lot of fun Jacob Poland and purple rain on one side and man I think the team Colorado a team that’s led by Evan baddy who’s got length who’s really just a a stout player Andre Roberson as well that’s a headliner game that should get some great attendance and of course the aftershocks they broke tbt’s attendance Le record last year 7,22 fans Not only is the entire region competing to keep up with Witchita but the Houston region is GNA be competing to try and host that quarterfinal but I got news for you it’s going to be tough to out sell the Witchita fans and aftershocks fans fans because they blow it up every year good luck good luck doing that and with aftershocks Connor frankamp Marcus McDuffy rashar Kelly these guys were a part of Rich winning at Witchita State and witch State the aftershocks 11- two in their last 13 games at their friendly confines 11 and two that place will be rocking good luck to the Houston fans you got a tough tough act to go up against in the attendance Department absolutely and speaking of friendly confines and home court and cool Arenas in college basketball TBT heads this summer to hle fieldhouse for the butler Regional but all good dogs the butler alumni are not the number one seed that belongs to assembly ball the Indiana alumni who will take on the crew Valpo alumni in the first round and how about the 4 five matchup another local draw men of Macky Purdue alumni against the Fort Wayne Champs team Arkansas Arkansas alumni against everline Drive who after this year will have played in 10 of 11 tbts and all good dogs as we mentioned the butler alumni will take on fail Harter who’s led by Kyle guy he’s gming the team but how about this not only does Butler have a team in TBT not only are they coming home to hle Fieldhouse but shelvin Mack will be leading the charge and he joins us now shelvin it’s finally real how do you feel with as us being this close to TBT man I’m very excited opportunity to go back and play a hle um it’s one thing I’ve been wanting to do for a while know leaving my junior year I didn’t have a senior night so uh I’m excited to get back there and and play with the guys play with the fellas shelvin it’s great great to see you love your work as well uh on TV watching from afar you do awesome work uh now you’ll be back on the hardwood here at hankle field house this this tournament you know it connects the the present and even the future to what was in the past and it gives people great Nostalgia they get those feelings when they walk into hle Fieldhouse every time I walk into hle Fieldhouse I feel it Define to the fans what is hankle Magic it’s so so a feeling you can’t describe especially when I played on a Saturday afternoon the sun beaming in hitting the court you just can can feel the energy I know some updates that’s been there beforehand it wasn’t a Jumbo Tron so you just had to focus on the game and you just locked in the whole time uh now they have a jumbo try it’s this a it’s just a lot of unseen hours that you just get and feel when you walk into that gym you you think about this region and you’ve got men of Macky you’ve got assembly ball we were talking last week Andrew and I and I said I thought that the the crossroads classic which which hasn’t been back in a couple years was one of the best basketball events because all these Indiana fan bases combine at the Fieldhouse downtown for a great day now all these all these Indiana hoop fan bases are going to combine at hle Fieldhouse but when you think about these other teams those rivalries even as Al Lums how real is it you know if if you’re to meet you ball or menami yeah it’s very real especially when I was in college uh I don’t think those schools went to play us you know they didn’t want to lose to the underdog and have an opportunity so I never had an opportunity to play against a Purdue or IU uh I’m definitely looking forward to that matchup try to steal a few players from Fue me and Ian mois really good friends so uh it’s gonna be great just to get out there and compete at a high level but I don’t think anything’s better than playing summer basketball in hle I think everyone is going to enjoy that whether you’re a Purdue fan or B fan or IU fan this coming there and just having a good time and playing high level basketball should be very exciting some people spend their summers in Hawaii some people you know go up in New York we’re looking forward to spending our summers at hle and some of the guys playing with you this summer shelvin Rodney Clark Paul Jorgenson sea mcdermit how about the team that’s been put together for all good dogs I think it’s a a very good team uh get back to the get St the butler way party players some flow a lot of ball movement but we got guys who are specialist and uh every category you know Rodney’s one of the best three-point Shooters of all time in college basketball um you also have B Hodes athletic get out there and the fend but it’s great to see all mix and styles coming together from different generations to play u and I think we have a a really good chance of um know winning some games well shelvin we appreciate you coming on I agree you definitely have some chance of winning some games as John alluded to that hle magic is going to help out so we’re looking forward to seeing it can’t wait to see you and talk soon uh yes sir I think I might only lost two games in my career hle if I’m not mistaken so now hopefully the referees know that as well so he get there you go appreciate it shelvin thanks man and as we mentioned they will take on the winner of the pitch B Regional and let’s see that bracket the one seat here though the stars of stores Yukon alumni they’ll take on the eight seed Herkimer Originals 4 five matchup to boy dream Happy Valley hoopers Penn State Alumni 36 matchup best Virginia West Virginia Alumni against brotherly love and the 27 Zoo crew pit alumni against million dollar worth a game I skipped over him briefly but that’s because there’s no better person in the world to talk to about Yukon Basketball than my guy right here John Fanta this is the back-to-back NCA winning champions they now have a team in TBT led by Ryan boat right what are you hearing about this team well this team you don’t have to hear it you just know it you’re talking about national champions that are on this team and and I’ve heard from Mark demilio his team that that Yukon they’re not pulling any punches they’re not going to be part of an event H and not put together a roster that can win a championship Ryan Boatright and you look back at his career a guy who was first team all a a guy who out of high school’s Illinois co- Mr basketball won a title in 2014 you’re talking about Joey calcatera Joey California he’ll be hitting some threes from C uh even though he’ll be in Pittsburgh because this guy’s got in the Jim Reigns Jerome Dyson DeAndre Daniels talking about a Yukon Legend and Chris Smith Jr but I I really like that they’re in this Regional because if we were to get a one versus two region final people don’t fully understand or at least the old-timers understand but you might not fully understand the atmosphere that we can get with the zuk crew Jam artist Nelly Cummings these are big-time players who are gonna help lead zuk crew I really like the makeup of this team as well this is a fascinating one too you get best Virginia you get some some great players in the Bob hoggins era which was legendary in West Virginia basketball history so there’s some real story lines here there’s some old Big East ties Andrew to this Pittsburg Peterson Event Center Regional it’s an exciting one and best Virginia they’re assembling a good roster they’ve become a staple in TBT we mentioned the Yukon Stars of stores you mentioned Mark Dello here’s a quick video from him explaining why this year was the year to put a team in TBT someone on on uh T Twitter actually back a year a year and a half ago was told me about TBT and he actually hit me up recently and was like hey don’t forget I was the guy that told you about TBT I always thought about it I mean even back 20 years ago I was like Wow imagine if players from different eras even even one or two years par could play together how awesome that would be and you guys have been doing it you you’re the leaders you’re the only game in town that’s been doing it and you know we’re excited to be part of it I think over the last couple of years my involvement with Yukon Basketball has gotten stronger and and I’ve really tried to do a good job um bringing in um ju just really connecting alumni fans and and players that a lot of schools Yukon hasn’t done in the past like doing events to bring in players and and current students and fans Al together is kind of what I’ve been doing with the collective and outside of the collective over the last couple years and it’s it’s been awesome great stuff there from mark excited about this Yukon team but joining us now is someone who’s going to help us break down both the Butler and Pittsburgh region because they’ll be matched up he’s calling games in the Indianapolis Butler Regional and he’s an absolute college basketball and Purdue Legend Robbie humel another year of tbt how about Indie and Butler being a host yeah you know it’s interesting for me I have some poor memories of hle field house losing in the 7th grade AE State uh semifinals there so going to be some PTSD for me walking back into this place I I’ve been there since uh the bubble Nate tournament I did some games there for West one but it is uh a historic building you know as someone that that grew up in the state of Indiana in val perzo you know hoers is such a big part of the fabric of anyone that plays basketball and certainly in in the movie hooers Hinkle has a big place in that movie um it’s kind of like being in a time machine you know like you get in there and and you do you feel it so we we’ve got great Arenas in college basketball in the state of Indiana whether that’s Assembly Hall or Mackie arena hle is right there as well and uh yeah looking forward to another year at TBT glad I’m not playing because I suck so it should be good to be working with you guys and and good to see you both Robbie Kelsey Barlo back for manam macki Sasha stanovich playing for the first time you think about those guys you think about the menam macki can they put something together here what do you make of him yeah I mean I I think Ryan Kay does a great job you know year in and year out he puts together a good roster last year the menam macki were we’re knocking on the door against Friday beers almost finally kind of got over that hump to get out of the second round um but Kelsey is certainly a player that this team is built around uh there is no denying his talent you know he he’s shown that the last couple years in the TBT at just how effective how athletic uh he still is and you know I played with at Purdue um he’s a great teammate he cares a lot about this event and uh I’m sure he’ll be ready to go Sasha stefanovich really excited to see what he’s able to bring to the table he’s one of those guys and we’ll talk about a couple of these guys in this preview that have now joined College staffs and I’m sure get thrown out there in practice and are like part of the scout team and Sasha is definitely one of those guys can really really shoot the basketball um you know Bobby plenus being back I think is a good pick up for them and then I’m interested to see how these Florida State guys fit in you know Ian Miller and Malik Osborne are two FSU guys have gone overseas and played and we’re on good Florida State teams and uh you know unfortunately I think for metam macki we haven’t been able to get some of the guys that play overseas and it’s hard because like the the summer is short when you play in the finals of whether it’s the Turkish League or the Russian League or Spain or Italy or whatever country you’re playing in the finals don’t really get over until around now so summer is short when you got to go back over in August um and that’s that’s kind of hurt I think this team’s chances of really putting together a Deep Run is that we haven’t been able to get the guys like Carson Edwards or Jawan Johnson um Vince Edwards Dakota Maas those guys that are still playing at a high level you know I I see Yogi frell’s name and and immediately just greatness comes to mind for an all big 10 first team player y you see some of the names with men and Macky between between IU fans Purdue fans and then you’ve got shelvin Max Shawn mcder and those Butler fans you’ve played in this event you you you know the impact of it we talk about attendance what could hle Fieldhouse be with all of these Indiana basketball fans with in July they’re always thinking about hoop but now they got something to to attend yeah no I I think it’s great and you know this would have been now shoot three years ago we played we played over in Columbus and we played Ohio State in the second round and we had a phenomenal crowd I think we were in the volleyball wrestling uh gym we were not in Value City Arena which is good because that place seats like you know 20,000 people um but that was an awesome crowd and it was really fun to play in a game like that because Jared Selinger is the coach and you got deer playing you got William Buford who’s my teammate in Spain and someone that I played a lot of basketball against in college uh you know David Lighty so it’s going to be like that but I just feel like kind of on steroids right like you you get the fact of all these Indiana teams are here and and you can throw in even Fort Wayne Uh the Fort Wayne Champs are there you know valo University I’m gonna say the Crusaders because I as a valo native cannot call them the beacons it’s it’s against my blood uh they’re they’re the called the crew in this event you know there’s just a lot of Indiana ties to this region which I think is awesome because basketball does mean so much in the state of Indiana to so many kids growing up and I think the alumni bases understand how cool it is when these teams get to play during the season and let’s face it we’re in the dog days of baseball summer already so um I guess with the Olympics this year there’s going to be some other things to watch but I know that that that place is going to be rocking and uh when ankle’s going it’s about as good as anywhere we have some crazy potential Regional final and then semifinal or sorry quarterfinal matchups with this combo when you got best for Virginia obviously Zoo crew and stars of stores Happy Valley hoopers Penn State Alumni in the Pittsburgh Regional but the big one that’s on John and eyes radar is we could see a Yukon Stars of stores verse men of Mackey Purdue alumni rematch from this year’s National Championship how fun would that be well that’d be awesome because that means that the men of macki are are you know making noise and and getting as far as they they’ve ever been in this event and you know I just feel like Yukon this point is an embarrassment of riches you know at the final four we I was doing some stuff for Turner and we had a lot of guests on it was like a Manning cast and our Purdue guests were like Brad Miller good guest etan Moore good guest Drew Brees really good guest but the Yukon guests were like Rudy Gay RI Hamilton Karan Butler AA oo you’re just like dude they’re their history is insane their national titles are insane um even I think you look at this roster that they’ve put together you know Chris Smith is the coach he’s he’s a legend of Yukon and Big East basketball and then I just think that they’ve done a great job of kind of bridging recent players with like Joey calcatera or even Ryan Boatright and you’re putting those guys together with dudes that are My AG in Jerome Dyson and Jeff Adrian I played against those guys in the sweet 16 um Dyson had a torn se he didn’t play but Jeff Adrian I played against and actually was one of my teammates with the Timberwolves um so yeah they just they have so many good players it’s like man Yukon they got everything they out bid the Lakers for their coach you know they’re they’re rocking and rolling and I hope for the men of Mack get to play them because that means that uh you know we’re going up against one of the better teams in this thing and we’ve found a way to get out of the second round well Robbie thank you for joining us last year we saw you walk off the court to the broadcast Booth I got a feeling this year you may be walking off the golf course into the broadcast booth in Indianapolis but looking forward to uh everything with you and and TB this summer I’m sure it was a real highlight for TBT me eating a hot dog Courtside post game of zero minutes zero points uh dnp CD absolutely it was content City so thank you yeah there you go good to see you guys Robie all right and we have two final regionals to wrap this up first we’re going to head over to Dayton the Dayton Regional Dayton’s become quote unquote the home of tbt and the home of TBT basketball the one seed here heartfire the defending Champions if TBT had an overall number one seed it would be the defending Champions who are back again they’ll take on the eight seed rise and grind 4 five matchup we are D3 against Sweet Home Alabama 36 matchup carman’s crew Ohio State Alumni they’re back once again the 2019 Champs they’ll take on purple hearts but then the home team the host Red Scare Dayton alumni they’ll take on the guys STL Red Scare is looking for a revenge tour this year after getting upset in round one in watch which many called last year the biggest upset in TBT history John I’m told there’s some potential big carman’s crew names that could come out of the woodwork where do you think this Regional is going to lean yeah I I think that I’m really intrigued to see how Red Scare gets Redemption because they need it they need it with the names that they’ve got you’ve got a first team all Atlantic 10 player in scoi Smith you’ve got another all eight1 type of guy and Jordan cybert Ryan Mike cell and Daryl Davis that’s your dayon alumni that is Red Scare and and they’ve added West Clark who’s been one of the best players in TBT the past couple of years had a TBT Championship with blue collar you in 2022 the Buffalo alumni so they got winning experience in this event to help bolster their roster but the number one seed the defending Champions and we’d be remissed to not bring them up because you have to look back at what they did last year heartfire story was fantastic and Marcus Hall Craig sword rapael Putney Eric Griffin Davin white Tevin Mack they’re all back and they’ve added an NBA champion in Jordan Bell they’re coached by lonso Ellis and lonso did a terrific job with hard fire last year I expect them to be right back to run this back and when you’ve won you know think of of of a Davin white 41 years of age Andrew he was in a heartbreaking loss to overseas Elite back in 2015 and last year he makes the game-winning bucket to give them the target score for their first TBT title they’ve got experience they’ve got winning if redcare is gonna find Redemption you got some tough tough paths here because carman’s crew could be sitting there waiting for you in the second round and we know if if these names all come together for carman’s crew keep it locked at the tournament you should be following us already but keep it locked at the tournament if we get Carmen’s crew and we get Red Scare in the second round oh baby do Ohio State and Dayton have history with the Flyers having their fair share of moments remember when shelvin ma said nobody wanted to play us when I was at Butler red scared they used to get that vibe from the buck guys I would love that down at UD that would be exciting fire also has the leading scorer in TBT history Marcus Hall but there’s another guy in the TBT world that could be the TBT leading score if he keeps playing how he played last year in TBT and that’s nasty natti’s Jacob Evans let’s take a look at the final Regional the Cincinnati Regional headlin and hosted by nasty natti the one seed Cincinnati alumni they’ll take on team about billions in round one the 4 five matchup Brown Ballers versus red rose Thunder Brown Ballers that’s who pulled off the massive upset upset against Red Scare last year they’re back with their best seat ever 36 matchup team Gibson vers dream 34 and then the 27 matchup zip him up Xavier alumni vers takeover BC I’m sure you’re you know chomping at the bits here rubbing your hands together John because we could see a Xavier Cincinnati ZIP him up versus nasty Natty Regional final and you of all people know how crazy that could get zero love loss and nasty Natty got zip him up last year but the cross town shootout is one of college basketball’s best three or four rivalries it absolutely is and those fans they some some of them live in the same houses as the others some families are divided when it comes to Cincinnati and Xavier for nasty natti got some nastiness to their roster Andrew they got some tough players Jon Cumberland AAC Player of the Year back in 2019 co-6 man of the year before that two-time first team all AAC how about Octavius Ellis always an imposing presence for Cincinnati back in his playing days and and helped the bearcast tenca tournaments this is a guy who’s going to be tough and gonna play well in this event zip him up wow I mean Trevon bitt Trevon blitt is one of the best scorers I ever covered like that guy is an absolute bucket then you add in Paul scrs you got Malcolm Bernard who had 15 points in a regional semi-final win over Arizona about seven years ago was an amazing win in Chris ma tenure there’s so much to like about this region and I’ll tell you what uh that would be something if they’re able to meet but you know what brown Ballers have already pulled off one upset and they’ve got a couple of guys who can really hoop TJ ly is somebody who who I’ve got on my radar but red rose Thunder coached by scoop Jardine look out for them take over BC you got guys from all over the globe and about I is a bunch of guys who are from Cincinnati so don’t forget about about billions they got a chip on their shoulder as well because there’s a couple other Cincinnati teams and they’ve got their own roster they wantan to they want to say forget about nasty Natty and zip them up we’re going to leave our Mark here on this tournament you never know in this event upsets are very possible there’s a strong chance that the quarter final here is between two Ohio alumni teams and that would be extremely exciting now that we’ve unveiled all the Regionals let’s take a look at the bracket in full and there it is the full TBT 2024 bracket how beautiful is that it’s spectacular and it just goes to show you you see all of these teams and all of the talent that we have talked about on this show the the name brands from aftershocks to L of milot are defending champ hard fire to a a traditional organization in this tournament sideline caner there’s so much to like about this Bracken there’s so much to like about the name brands the vill and United in a first round matchup at Freedom Hall are you kidding me Andrew I can’t wait uh I know that you can’t wait we’re going to see some more history and most importantly we’re going to see the cash fly uh we’re going to see $1 million get handed out to a winning team when it’s all said and done in Philadelphia absolutely you mentioned Philadelphia one more time before we get out of here TBT is heading back to Philadelphia back to Drexel’s Dak for championship week August 2nd to Fourth the semi-finals on the 2nd the championship on the fourth and tickets are on sale now for all of
