new brand alert at Embers what do we got Wilson Staff golf is now available at Embers oh gentle gentle baby so new brand we just brought in Wilson Staff and part of the reason we did is they I don’t say we did like like we have all the power and control over everything we inquired about bringing them on and it worked out yeah but part of the reason we wanted to was what’s happened with Wilson Staff lately they’ve completely shot up the charts in almost every category extremely underrated dino power was awesome the irons all the iron categories of categories or ton of hype and then their balls are getting a ton of hype I don’t and I don’t I haven’t heard really a lot of downside of Wilson lately no not at all and the iron videos are coming you guys have probably seen a bunch on good too like in your hand logo isn’t that logo kind of their new clean Wilson logo looks really good yeah very crisp and clean really good let me cut one of these open that’s my favorite part now these supposedly are going to compete with the Prov ons is that what you are seeing yeah that’s what I’m that’s what everybody’s saying all right how many piece ball four piece right there one two three four yeah so this is the regular one the X model is uh red red numbers for the X model so the red is the higher compression model yes the harder B yeah so Wilson has kind of gotten away from to me they kind of turned into I mean they are a sporting goods company but a sporting goods like big box type product yeah like a full box set type or tennis I felt tennis and basketball and they’ve totally changed that now the Wilson Staff is like their higher end stuff and it’s getting really cool supposedly same thing four piece ball different colors um yeah so here hold one in each hand so what are we what are we looking for with wedges let’s put them up against the prov1 see how they can you just cut it apart talk to it about it it’s four pieces I showed them that’s all they need to know that’s all they need to know yeah we don’t need to bore them with any more details come on Tate okay so what we want to see in a in a wedge is just spinny spin yeah so Tate’s going to test the X cuz he hits a higher compression ball so he’s familiar with that I’m going to test the regular cuz I hit the Z Stars right now um so feel wise I mean nice urethane cover oh yeah grab baby how’s it feel off the face not bad give me initial feedback it sounds a little clicky you think so yeah just see if it sounds the same for you okay let me listen this time I mean a little bit but not terrible last one can I make this yeah make one do it baby all right let me have a go I didn’t make it but not upset about it oh how about a Scully is it going to grab when you skull it did a little bit little bit that felt really hard but I think it’s more of the skull didn’t like the feel of that one you weren’t digging it it’s a little [Applause] heavy this is your prob one now all these premium balls grab nicely yeah from a wedge they should be okay oh is that two two of them yeah I’m know for that it’s kind of my trademark they’ll sneak out of you better better okay all right we’re going to test it against the Prov all right here we go prov1 X for me all right you good all right Trevor with the Titleist let’s go there a nice little CL crisp one yeah a little bit it kind of reminds me of the Titus logo in the sense it’s just like classic like old school not a whole lot going on kind of understated Old School logo I’m still at my skulling ways there we go finally grabbed one okay so here’s a contradictory side point 50 yards in in are you wearing a glove no I like all my feels same as soon as I’m inside 75 Ys 75 and under 75 is my Max glove shot for me and I don’t know why that is I don’t know if it really makes a difference let us know I’ll go hundo and what’s your glove number yeah nice is that good for you yeah I’m good let’s check out some data let’s take a look at the numbers pretty comparable between the two and again I’m looking for more I think as we go along higher in the bag the balls start to separate themselves a bit launch is exactly the same ball speeds near identical spin was higher with the Titleist that’s cuz I struck it better um so not a lot to conclude on this mine were almost identical and I think for mid-handicappers you’ll probably notice it the least difference between balls around the green yeah right okay yeah I agree I don’t think you start noticing a big difference around the greens until you really become a better player yeah so I don’t have a lot to comment on so far I couldn’t tell you if I like one over the other in fact if you put a Wilson label on the Titleist or vice versa I probably wouldn’t know the difference okay Wilson with a seven iron okay that’s a good one to start on caught it a little heavy but now we’re kind of going in blind a little bit cuz we don’t play either one of these balls no sounds good doesn’t sound as clicky with this club no little pull draw how’s it feel you got a little more feel for it yeah it feels good it it honestly do feel too firm no I can feel it a little bit better with this that’s probably good it’s doing the same thing every time yeah and that’s really what I’m looking for is consistency not from me the player but from the ball yeah cuz if if it’s going to be inconsistent it’s going to be the ball’s fault yeah it’s not your fault it’s not my fault no I’ve nothing to do with it never has been oh yeah there you go there we go felt really good yeah that one was ped oh yeah no I actually really like the feel of it feel good there yeah that’s enough I’m mostly looking for launch ball speed on my seven iron Titus prov1 here we go oh that was Cash Cash Money what that’s three in a row that’s three in a row and that’s all she wrote for me get out of there I put my glove on that one sounded nuked yeah the Wilson feels maybe it’s just me touch softer which I don’t know is necessarily a good thing let’s see yeah oh yeah there you go still a little towy but I felt like I and this is pure feel I felt like I had more control with the provy let me try one more yeah called that thin I’ll be honest and this is why why we do some of the golf ball review videos from a mid handicap perspective from guys like us you don’t know I just can’t tell a difference yet it’s really not till driver driver and putter I feel like are the two biggest ways for me for me and when it comes to when you’re doing the same class of balls now so super softball versus a firm ball you know a tour Ball versus like a qar something yeah I can tell the difference but Apples to Apples on tour balls man man it’s tight okay Trev let’s check it out okay so I’ll go first ball speed almost the same 2 mph difference 2 and a half mph difference so that’s actually significant um the Wilson carried further by four yards and rolled out further by three yards but better spin with the Titleist so both had better ball speed yeah better ball speed with the Wilson but it could be an isolated test cuz I nuked a few of those Wilsons yeah what do you think about yours do you see anything that stand out at this level I mean the numbers are all better with the Wilson yeah for you but again I I really ped those ones yeah so I still think it’s close yeah but the Wilson is holding up there’s no question about it it’s hanging for a ball golf ball that two years ago no one would ever play yeah they would never even think about playing it the fact that it’s hanging but now it’s time for Hulk Hogan versus Andre The Giant WrestleMania three baby this is to me the one that matters so Tate and I he was trying to switch off of the Srixon XV dude I’m and this is no joke it happened to me and I I played strix on and we he tried to switch to this ball the said ball that he wanted to change to and the ball was just moving a lot off the t- boox for him and I said just just play your XE put the XE back in play that thing was like just a bullet down the Fairway could he have been striping them maybe but I do think certain balls fit better players or or I shouldn’t say better but mid- handicap players even off of the t-box and if you hit a ball that can still have a lot of ball speed and not over Spin and keep it straight that’s the ball for you for me so far that’s the strickson for Tate so far it’s the stck on XV I haven’t found a ball that moves less off the T box let’s see if the Wilson does it okay here we go green set at 300 yard you know what that means here at Embers golf that’s Cream City a little shout out to the Milwaukee Bucks there 300 yards driver engaged versus the Wilson okay well that was uh that was sweet spotted yeah how’ it feel fantastic that’s Cream City sounds good I have no complaints with the sound if if I can do that one more time that’s all the data I think I need yeah you’re done yep get out of here goodbye back to back cream cities all right let’s see if I like Old Wilson oh I love it it’s really good I could have teed it up a little bit higher even he told me if I could save that to do that so I saved it and that’s a good shot for me for anything with a ball speed over 160 is good for me anything over 150 is good that was low on the face at 151 that Ball’s hanging let’s try again that’s toe that’s high toe let’s see what it does it’s staying online I like how much it’s staying online 290 for a Miss that’s pretty good 144 ball speed but I almost missed the club didn’t over spin on me either which it wouldn’t on a toe ball oh yeah that’s a good shot high in the face again I think I need to use a lower T but it is this ball is out 300 dude it’s flying 150 two out of three were over 150 that’s rare for me 150 ball speed yeah it’s pretty good um I’m impressed I’m impressed okay here we go Titleist Pro V oh roasted that one is roasted just a low bullet that’s Cream City I don’t even have to look let’s check ball speed cuz that’s what we’re after is ball speed numbers let me get one more go ahead one one more and then and then this driver’s going away yeah 161 I mean we we already know the Prov is going to do that oh yeah that one’s not Cream City it’s too spinny but I hit it good as I say that I carried a 293 it’s just one of those days and then tomorrow when I’m on the course shank City all right where’s that proie for me you guys heard it here you heard it here also blew a hole in my glove so she’s got to get retired sounded fantastic yeah that’s the best Drive I’ve had out of everything all season no 294 carry 156 ball speed but that’s center of the club oh just that’s going to get there too now it’s it’s not one more not bad though that was a low heel oh that’s nuked yep two for three cream cities nothing wrong with that no 313 and 36 153 um I don’t even need to look at the data we might as well I liked them both a lot um prov1 is going to show up good cuz I hit my best dries with it um but I’m I’m already going to tell you the Wilson hung around like I said for a brand that wasn’t even in the mix a few years ago I’m surprised it hung around yeah okay so let’s look at the DAT yeah look at that see I roasted those okay so for me 162 ball speed with the Wilson 159 ball speed with the Titleist better spin with the Titleist um and same finish number 309 so you were right Trev is exactly right the fact that the Wilson is is head-to-head with the Titleist I understand what people are all raving about yeah so the numbers are better for me for Titleist but um I was high on the face with the Wilson and I hit like the my two best drives of like my life with the titles just now real quick price point do you know price point it’s just under the Prov it’s priced as a premium ball so I think it’s around 50ish dollars a dozen it’s not 55 I don’t think it might you knows a good value at 50 these guys are probably right there um but I’m impressed with it I would definitely consider gaming it if you asked me last year to play a Wilson I might spit in your face yeah right just a just a slap just a RI Fair slap across the chest a chop yeah no that’s a Ric Flair does backhand who does the overhand chop I don’t know question that’s the Wilson golf ball that’s our initial impression it’s definitely worth a a pie oh yeah definitely find one hit it around see what you think or go buy buy buy a pack definitely impressed it’s a brand that people need to be talking about more I think the two I’m I’m already going to say the two most underrated brands in all of golf are Wilson and Srixon yeah I would agree Big Time sleepers and you shouldn’t be sleeping on it it can definitely hang with the big boys there’s no question about it hang and beat sometimes stay tuned for Wilson iron
