if you’re like me and you’ve struggled in the past with your takeaway got a great little drill here for you to do at home maybe to get an understanding of some feelings of how to get that Golf Club working back in the takeaway like the first three feet in a much better fashion so I’ve got a gear tie here that I picked up at a local hardware store wrapped it around the shaft here a couple of times and made it basically like airplane wings so when I set up here to the golf ball my tendency is to roll my airplane Wings to flat to the ground getting the club head a little too far behind my hands the handle a little too far out which caused me to pick it up and get it across the line too much so I like to feel it come back with my hands in the club head stays outside of my hands and if you can see those airplane Wings pretty much point right back at the Target line creating that nice shaft plane angle we that we set up at a dress if I can get the golf club started back in that fashion all I need to do is just fold my right arm and that golf club’s going to get in a really good position at the top conversely if you’re the player that tends to take the club back a little too shut where the hands work too far in the club head works too far out now you can see the airplane wings are tilted too much towards the ground or towards my feet that club face is going to be shut causing me to have to do some type of reroute on the back on the down swing to get it back to the ball so I like just feeling the upper body work keeping the airplane Wings on plane I also feel a little tug of my left shoulder which sets my shoulder plane really nicely as I keep that handle working in and that club head in relation to my hands on the outside so try our gear tie drill local hardware store great way to get a feeling for a great takeaway in your golf swing
