Lowry’s score could have been even lower if not for the adverse weather that interrupted his momentum on the 14th hole. Storms halted play, slowing down the Offaly native’s progress. Before the delay, the 37-year-old was on fire, highlighted by a spectacular 24-foot eagle putt. Throughout his round, Lowry racked up birdies on the 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 9th holes, followed by additional birdies on the 10th and 11th, culminating in an impressive eagle on the 13th. His flawless round was a testament to his top-notch golfing prowess.
Since the USPGA Championship, Lowry’s putting has been exceptional. He mentioned that his performance on the challenging Pinehurst No. 2 green during the US Open was among his finest.
