Welcome in to the Lead Card of the Front 9 of the second round at the 2024 Doo Dah Open. This is one of Wichita, Kansas’ biggest tournaments of the year. This second round will be played from the Blue Tees at Herman Hill Park. The lead card features last years champion Nate Allton, the silky smooth putter Tate Galloway, Emporia State University Disc Golfer Caden Stucky and Discin’ Deal sponsored Keehnan Ford.

[Music] [Music] yo what is up welcome back to disc and Deals coverage I’m Lucas deal here with the onetime World Champ Chris Smith this is one time deal commentary and you’re looking at round two of the 20 24 D open first round we had some hot scores Nate Alton Leading The Way with a nine under we going to see Tate Galloway Kaden Stucky and Keenan Ford really excited for this card we’re playing the blue T’s at Herman Hill tournament director Jimmy joerger assistant TD Damen Davenport and of course we have to mention the air Capital dist Golf Club the title sponsor and the reason y’all are Ducks 19 wins and I tell you what if we got this guy on coverage we’re going to have some laughs no doubt man we are starting right off with the a must get the easiest hole on the course this baby comes in at 2.41 240 ft of just simple shot you can go higher off the te if you’re a backhand specialist I’m guessing several guys on this card are probably going to flick it off of the out to the left and bring it in off of the road hopefully hope they can all miss that dang curve I think we also might see two plays you might not always see today Spike spike Heiser over the top yep seeing it that just means you can’t hit gaps yeah okay here we go Nate this probably a n just flicking it out there letting it fall in playing for some tree love and hope you don’t go in the street yeah so he got caught up he is in bounds but he’s going to be right on the trunk of that tree our guy Tate here that disc has a few signatures on it so this got this one dialed yeah maybe a little wider little wider a little more Hiser than NES and absolutely pinned so Kaden’s gonna go that crazy crazy Spike Heiser it is a very very high Heiser Kaden can put a move on a disc pretty good he’s part of the empor State team so and looks like that worked out well that was perfect catch cam Kyle got just the end of the flight there dipstick says hey if you can do that I gotta do that and here we go and he hit early and not anywhere close easy up and down for him though yeah I think Keenan was saying that he told him about the line Kaden didn’t know about it before you know classic Keenan things and here’s uh Nate here from a knee kind of obstructed probably just maybe outside the edge of the circle doesn’t look comfortable I’ll say that yeah he’s probably hot in those pants well the Putter’s hot yeah baby look at that one lofted that sucker right in there yeah I like the pace on his putts he has just enough where he’s never gonna have a huge comeback yep that’s that leads to success Tate just drills it and Tate’s got a different type of putt he’s always got good pace but he always hits the the heart of those chains Keenan after leaving it short to take the par and Kaden with the absolute Park job welcome to disc deals coverage anytime you can putt with your driver you know it’s a good throw we’re going to start out with a disc’s Double Take right away oh boy you’re just giving them out this time well look at that come on the way it rolled around would you have given that to Tate I will say I think I am a pretty lenient um this tournament you’re going to see quite a few yeah hole two man I love this hole this hole’s straight up the gut is the play something that’s going to maybe flip late I guess if you have a straight flick you could try to flick it down there if not you’re going to have to turn it over and bring these trees to the left on the left side in into play a little bit at only 305 ft this comes in as the uh the fourth hardest hole with Nolan yeah fourth hardest hole wow that’s crazy this is not this is not a hard hole no it’s not a hard hole at all just throw it straight and pick a fairway driver your best mid-range and Let Her Fly so Nate predominantly a flicker pretty much all of flicker is going to be a tough angle for him but he’s really good at these uh inside Flex shots like this but brings in those trees yeah as the last one he’s got a wide open putt you’re gonna see a lot of those Flex forehands out of Nate can’t believe Tate’s biting off of that line man Tate should just take a straight flyer and just rip that sucker yeah and he didn’t get his turned as much but he beat everything and he’s going to be out in the open and have a look oh my gosh no wonder nobody birdied it spoiler [Laughter] alert well sorry I mean obviously if it’s the fourth hardest hole there’s no birdies oh yeah that’s fair that’s fair so here we go Ken put his down yeah way too early Keenan going with the more traditional shot I don’t know what Keenan throws for a straight flyer this might be his logic oh my gosh oh goodness that’s a bad spot what’s he lined up here Spike Heiser yeah now he’s gonna go over the top he wouldn’t be the first person to hit that fence or get those trees above it they’ve been blown up a few times he got just over in the tree and he’s gonna have a lookie 30 foot or probably yeah I I think a little outside to save a par not where you want to be no definitely not little forehand here out of Caden just misses the tree good shot yeah that was nice yeah so he’s still got quite a bit of meat still on the bone he’s good at these putts bounce that sucker in there yeah we got two holes in a row where we got some some bouncing in off the cage Tate Tate’s a little closer than I thought he was H just a little low here’s Nate just a tad L there as well and now we’re going to have some par tapin there we go and there were a couple of birdies on this hole on the day Nolan and Ron KH were both able to uh secure a two nice guarantee you Ron Khan didn’t flick that sucker no no all right and then there’s some pars and oh my goodness did I do it again I sure did I gave Keenan one oh you are generous I am oh that’s a good angle though that’s that’s F yeah it’s just because Kyle uh Kyle stayed a little bit longer than Kindra does because he ran to the next hole while Kindra walks so we’re going to have some different angles we can use for some double takes that we don’t usually have okay good hole three 334t comes in in the uh harder half of the whole strength this is a cool hole man you just got to rip one down here and clear this little hump and if you get over the top of the hump you’re going to have a putt this is playing from the short te on uh on this hole I remember last year tapate blew up that short basket they had both baskets in and Tate hit it oh did yeah well thanks thanks to you and you alone for clearing out some of these baskets and helping everyone out because I hate having some of these two pins in during does Nate have a disc in his back pocket it’s his mini he’s like got a Ronnie unre mini it’s those huge Minis that they have oh okay the junior discs yeah so he got it out there for a putt I will say Nate has more stuff in his back pocket playing than I’ve ever seen anyone yeah all right so keep following this flick line that looks pretty good yeah it looks real good little short let me see a backhand here out of Caden some action on the sidewalk yeah there is a a public bus stopping I didn’t get to skip just a smidge low yeah the right line though Keenan probably going to throw this Hiser seen lots of people rip a Heiser around this little bushy tree here just to the left of the Mando and it’ll get on that dry ground and Skip right around that corner yep that’s my play that’s what Keenan is going for he’s a little tight he’s gonna hit the hill and not get the skip he wants but he stayed in bounds so that’s good but he’s gonna be out I so so far away he’s got to throw it instead of give it a little jump go s it off a little bit but that should be fine yeah he shouldn’t make that Kaden just little bit longer than you want to be that it’ll be right behind it if you hit the basket or anything from this length man you could catch a wheel and roll right out of bounds and he wanted none of it oh we still got a little roll out though yeah that wouldn’t kind and Tate will be giving this a little bit I think yeah but again kind of the same concept that you were talking about with Kaden is it’s a scary one to run and he did have that a little bit floatier than normal but that was a great bid so Nate just outside of the circle again oh my goodness lofted it in there holy moly what a shot that was great that was all Heiser the whole way I’m telling you the pace on his is just pretty impressive to me he has just enough Keenan to clean up par oh little right side corner he’s like he did not like it’ll he’ll be telling him about it for a while he will all right so Nate with the lone bird and taking three Strokes on the card these boys better kick it gear he’s going to run off and leave them oh but we got to have another one I mean look at that look at that angle o that’s not a normal butt it’s not normal great putt there by Nate you you are giving out the this is making up for the rock yeah yeah I told you I’m being really generous there we go hole four R3 380 ft classic Herman Hill hole you got to get up this hill through this little Gap that’s continuously getting smaller and Tighter and once you clear the top of this hill you have to be going right a lot of old school guys will throw rollers I don’t know that we’ll see a roller on this group we’ll see Nate flick it over the top of the hill and probably park it I bet you will see four flicks all right let’s see what we got flick number one oh yeah we can we can usually assume that Nate’s gonna flick that looks pretty good great height and you called it parked yeah that’s right in his comfort zone yeah that sets up well for his little force over you have any idea what Tate’s flicking here I think this that Helio quazar that he throws okay that looks pretty good too yeah just touch lower it’s going to catch the hill just F fine line between getting over that hill and parking it and being buried inside with a death butt and this is an orbit ride at a Caden little low as well little low yep and didn’t get the scale y I mean Nate didn’t even play with the top of that Hill dude he was 15 16 feet over the top of it oh dipsticks trying the super Heiser yep so Keenan’s going for the force overhiser up top at least that’s what he’s lining up we’ll see it used to work I think those trees are growing a little taller it looks like a pretty good shape it is g to work yeah well Nate’s disc oh and ends up on the edge of the circle yeah dang that was that was sweet though yeah that was a good rip yeah Kaden is just snookered by this Lone Tree oh that’s too high isn’t it not bad oh that’s good uh this is another one where he’s probably gonna have to get a little lofty the back side of that green is SC car yeah yeah you pretty timid for Tate y you don’t this will be full send wow there you go good putt that was awesome little tap for the basket and then Nate 12 right where you want to be y there you go that one had some zip on it yep there it goes Kyle right into the next basket maybe she a segue you know I think one one wheel I I was telling KRA about it she’s like oh my God I would crash she’s like I fell walking to a hole I can only imagine all right so two birds there and we’re going to move into hole five whole five up top tead pull place down here through the Gap you have to go left of this tree the tree is the Mando not the sign yep I’m assuming it’s left of the trunk I don’t know what that means up top and another left to right hole here so probably see a few flicks these little trees here at the back can really knock down discs this thing comes in as the seventh hardest hole okay for the open field on the day yeah road is behind it sneaks up on you if you actually make it through yeah it comes into play real quick and I am in tight here and Nate is going to go the high forehand I don’t know if you’ve seen this play that’s pretty crazy F lost it but then found it and wow he’s just in that’s a pretty crazy play yeah that’s pretty cool yeah I haven’t ever seen anyone go over the top like that I don’t know if it’s the smartest play but it works for his game and this is a turnover truth he hit and he’s going to be straddling the curb and the grass so he’s going to be in bounds and I’ll I’ll give you a picture of that here in just a second here’s the Draco down low too much High a little high yeah oh it didn’t get through it all Kaden with that RI again nope it’s not I don’t know what that is that looks pretty sweet though yeah little early isn’t it yeah a little early but he’s he’s down there putting he’s gonna have an open look pass the last tree looking at about 30 feet and then we know this is Tate needs to just throw the oh oh my gosh he really Z on that thing yeah and there’s safe by a mile usually when you hit those trees and then go left like that you end up walking up to it and it’s laying off the edge of the curb so Keenan’s got to be a little careful with the face of his putt it would be real easy to cage out and go left out of bounds yeah he locked that a little bit and liked it oh what a bed so yeah Kaden is right about 30 feet isn’t he yep have a real look here he putch with the pin rose oh just a little short all right and this is par saver car save yeah you’re right wow but we know it’s Tate though so no Double Take and Nate get a little relief from the sidewalk or the curb excuse me and move him to about 23 feet yep he took the bird got her yeah that’s a great start first five holes are well played yeah it’s a fantastic start Keenan tapping in his [Music] par man I thought that was in man Y and so we’re gonna see a disc deals first oh it’s a disco deals Double Take but let’s see what happens here no our first No Deal heck yeah I think you got to save that for a basket error though not just miss butts we’re gonna see that a lot all right so this is a mammoth of a hole here 734 feet I think this hole probably eats more discs than any hole in the state of Kansas anything that is not moving left to right is going to possibly go off the edge of that uh Bank you’ll see a lot of rollers you’ll see a lot of forehands you’ll see a lot of people go mid-range off the te and then go big this is a scary hole and man if you thre this baby you are feeling good about yourself oh yeah comes in right in the middle is the ninth hardest hole this sets up well for Nate as well although that one’s low and that Creek area is B and he just got past it shot through it yeah shot through got to the other side but all that tall grass there there’s a ditch and that’s L OB marked OB too I’m surprised it doesn’t have trees growing up out of it like the other end of the Park yeah the Keenan lining up roller or anheiser anheiser anheiser committed to it g to get plenty of distance be plenty safe great sh both sets andos that’s yeah that’s that’s really nice Tate looking to do the same thing little higher but plenty turned I think oh did he miss it they have a conversation about it and looked like he missed it I think he missed it but they said he hit the tree on the other side of the Mando and oh boy made the Mando oh kayen just perfect but yeah so they gave Tate the spot they said he hit the Mando so he’s good he did not hit that thing freest stroke yeah that’s seal I don’t want to make the call on you type deal there that’s tough when you can’t see it yeah and it’s so far down there and of course they’re not using our video evidence so we had the luxury of seeing it from a different angle and go yeah perfect lay it up from there and walk off with the four and you’re making Strokes on folks Aiden nice he’s gonna be about the same spot as Nate isn’t he a little inside little roll down yeah he’s going to be a tad bit shorter but that’s another just t yeah so they’re saying that he hit the tree past the Mando and then kicked back to there it doesn’t matter dude if you if you are past the Mando and come back past the line you it’s no good there’s where his disc was it didn’t come back past the Mando on the backside so yeah that’s whatever just happened there I don’t know that is all correct no oh gosh Canan hits the tree yeah I think Buddy was standing there and he actually asked me about it later he’s like I think they played that wrong and I’m like well they said he made the Mando so and then and Kaden just with the pitch up and that’s all you need he’s going to walk away with the four Nate also pitched up just like you said it’s all you got to do Tate’s Pro Tate’s going to give it a little runy oh looks like it came out of his hand a little early and now he’s got even further putt now potentially yikes that’s going to happen when you run one of those longer putts down the hill doesn’t matter if you Tate though nope and then here’s Keenan yep gets his in and we should have a star power here one would think all right TAPS at home and then Nate should do the same wellow yeah I’m still I’m still not sure that was all correct man the good thing about that scoring app is the rule book is attached to it you can always open it up and look at it there’s no I mean it’s just there for you so so yep bygones or bygones here we go hole seven comes in as the sixth hardest hole just under 400 ft at 399 you have to rip the the stamp right off the disc to have any shot at getting under this low ceiling and over this hump uh the Mando trees are on the right are still into play you have to go left of them and do you remember what the wind was doing it should be a headwind if I’m not mistaken so that’s it’s not a ripping head win that’s not the worst thing that you it doesn’t look like the leaves don’t seem like they’re blowing much though I don’t think there anything it doesn’t look too bad so Nate trying to go big over the top wow put a pretty good move on it yeah that should be a look at a two yeah little little less than thin High but well past everything that’s going to be dangerous and Keenan puts a rip on this one yes he does wow yeah that was sweet little basket yeah yeah he hit that line perfectly Tate looking to follow suit I’d say he’s got the pop to get it there but that looks a little right out of his hand maybe yeah hit that came up a little short but he should still have a solid attempt at that one yep he’ll have a little go if he wants it and then Kaden also has enough backhand pop to get it there yeah he does little higher just hit that stuff yeah that’s I’ll bet you there’s a lot of people that played from this exact spot that Kaden is at here yeah that’s that’s usually the Miss is a little too high touchy little forehand here yeah Zone here well done yep yeah Tate does have a little outside look see if he can make some magic happen oh he liked it yeah he did Nate also just outside of the circle like said never has too much zip on it leaves it real close to the pin when he misses Yep this will get past the pen if he misses this will have some heat on it oh off the top and now he’s coming back from outside Circle again yeah bummer man oh that’s the worst and such a great Drive hate to see the the bogey on the hole yes sir you [Music] do woo oh and it spit out this a high the No Deal Lucille right here okay that’s where I should have done it I was thinking if someone starts walking it in oh I got you you can roll with it that way too but yeah no I didn’t give him one there I feel I feel a little bad if it’s for like a par maybe we should get a uh a spit graphic oh okay yeah yeah because that that looked like that putt was good enough it should have stuck to me agreed okay hole eight comes in as the fifth easiest hole 324 feet it’s uh you got to put a move on a disc man you got to get a little lucky coming around or under this tree unless you’re Nate and you flick it out over here to the left where all this air spaces and just fall on top of it yeah yeah there is a a low road skip too if you want to try that you can go o over the top the force over like you mentioned crooked basket let’s give that baby some love folks yeah so Nate’s thinking about it but we all know what’s gonna happen here thinking about what flicking yeah yeah he stepped up like he was gonna maybe backhand it oh little left yeah she’ll come back that’s not bad yeah the same doesn’t allow too much skip here little little left little flatter than he wanted I think T’s GNA follow that line again isn’t he yep that might be trouble that’s trouble quazar stay in baby oh great tree great tree here we go the more traditional route right out over the uh Far Side far curb and let that baby Heiser right back to the yeah I don’t like the high play though I’d prefer just to put it about P High he’s going big though what the heck and bounc in bounce oh my go if there is anything that is a Keenan Ford shot it is getting hitting on the other side of the OB and the is coming in that’s that’s as greasy as you get and I like this shot I like this like it a little wider that’s fine though it’s still good yeah you got you got to put a move on it and keep it low if you’re gonna go over that street this is not easy no this is a logic little patent pending anheiser he’s got it turned wow what a shot Keenan great shot and Tate has absolutely no ceiling here Panzer or is that his tank that was the tank so is that what the other one was Panzer yeah okay yeah I think the red one’s a Panzer Nate with the another one of these 35f Footers right on line wrong on height that time ah ah just a little high so surprisingly we’re going to have no birds where did this play um hole eight was the uh fifth easiest hole on the course yeah surprising for the lead card not to get at least one yeah for sure we had two dudes that had pretty good looks at it and both came up just a little bit little bit off Target but good run so poll nine part three 219 ft this baby comes in is the third easiest you got to get this one yeah this is a for most people going to be be a putter through the Gap this drone is flying um I’m not sure what Nate’s going to do Nate may try to flick out high and wide or we might see our first backand out of him yep and then you can see the sidewalk there that does play OB and it comes into play I think more from this teapad than the other one for sure if you have any any kind of a fast Edge disc and it hits on this dirt it’s G to have a good shot at going OB and you called it he’s going high and wide with the forehand showing me so I repositioned and just got through and right there I didn’t see it it was right behind the tree yeah okay Tate looks at that for a second says I’m gonna go this other way he goes putter oh early releas is it early release and a little bit of an air balance on it dang and Keenan’s a good putter thrower too yeah he looks like he’s looking at this little bit smaller right Gap though nope also just a but little bit too much higher yeah just barely too much though that’s just a little flatter that’s getting over there yeah but he’s still within Circle so he’s in a good spot and I don’t know what this is looks like suspect what do you think you would know that better than anyone well looks like a red disc that’s all I know Lucas not a suspect probably all right yeah they didn’t bite too hard he threw it hard enough to keep it flat and was on the edge of the circle and here’s tape from way downtown that tree is so cool though that dead one now oh yeah oh just got the tree a little meat left on that bone too all right Caden from the edge of the circle this means Keenan is inside the circle because I thought I saw a pink flag when Kaden threw this yeah was right under his toe see so Tate still yeah 22 23 feet man this basket looks crooked too wonder if it’s Kyle’s head yeah and there’s those baskets you talked about they do like to catch things best baskets in town here’s Kanan h these boys better watch out that’s the first time we’ve seen Tate get the old pep in the step oh yeah he did end up that was a good shot he ended up real close I never could see that thing come in yeah it came in right in front of that tree so Kyle was standing there when he did it so you could barely see it come in but yeah another birdie for Nate and he’s taking what is that four five six Strokes on on the card hey look at there’s jib in the background heck yeah what up Jim all right well that’s the front nine and as we mentioned Nate got that six-stroke lead on the card but the back nine definitely plays tougher I would say it’s a little bit longer for sure yeah we have some tough holes there make sure you come on
