glorious because we have got super league a rugby at its very best here today lying I believe third on the log are the visitors they are the Martis the Martis the big mates from stellen bos Rugby Club they are here to be hosted by the villagers Rugby Club it is going to be an experience of Grassroots youthful rugby and ladies and gentlemen wherever you may be watching please s closer and get ready to cheer the teams on my name Barry Wilson and I’m delighted to be able to share the commentary Booth today with my good friend Wayne Jackson and Wayne can you take us through quickly on the block a bit Ryan Manuel and Grant Yer he’s a flyer out there and then the fullback with a fantastic rugby named Kate Croy in the fullback position thank you Wayne and yes uh great to be able to be here this afternoon to enjoy yet another game here at the villagers Rugby Club vages taking taking the rigns for them are their coaching staff headed up by Andrew Kier and uh well known to many and then also on the opposite side the One S springb International the coach there kabamba fls so we have got action here today l ladies and gentlemen it’s wonderful to see the crowd that have come out by two points Andy and his team and now pon they like guys we need to get our score on the board the Martis they would want to cement the rest of their term um they got St George’s next week and then they have about another 6 weeks layoff so both teams uh would really this is a good start for the Martis haven’t played for a while and villagers desperate for that win so yeah they come the villagers look that doesn’t look like Asing it is it is him it is oh my word he’s got quite much bigger than the last time I saw him well don’t forget that the villagers Rugby Club and there’s D Tav there so after every practice you can go in and have a good burger and chips and Coke and I say that with respect to Mr as because uh he’s a great player and he likes taking it on and uh I’m sure that the opposite numbers and Aiden topley and Ryan Manuel will be just up to the TOs some good names in the side I know that there’s one uh in Jean moard I believe as well he played his rugby for the Bulls yeah he played for the Bulls not so long ago then he came back they brought him back for the Varity Cup made a huge difference he was offered about 2 or 3 weeks um he didn’t play injured so today’s his first game back after quite some little layoff but influential player and he starts the game right Petra says let’s get the game going and that is a beautiful kick from the man in mention Mr Mustard recycled Kan he’s a good one at scrum off and onto that reliable but of Joshua from mam but it’s down the field inside will come referee will say that there’ll be an offside infringement in a go turned over turned over twice a little scrummy and then for also there’s been a couple of big knocks here hope the guys are okay um they seem to have recovered both the fun the prop forward bason and then the lock um FF but he seems to have recovered so a little bit of a lull after that start of about 20 points but it was always expected the guys are coming back once again T now ready to feed games so no matter whether you are 6 7 8 9 10 learn the laws of the game remember not rules of the game laws of a rugby game there’s a whole booklet too many of and you’ll be able to come and not scared to tackle and we’ve seen him with the balling man so very good player but you know why you don’t have to have bravery to tackle he’s got technique he’s got very good technique so when you tackle and people just think tackling is when running into the wall and putting your arms around he’s got a technique and there’s a skill that’s got to be practiced touch oh goodness here you go with the am managa here he goes again bringing it down to ground stunder now big on to mustard look at the big man Gustafson coming through as a second Center ster again a little slow on the ball coming Ruck and I say this Wayne because in South African rugby in my opinion you know the day when players got cleared out at Rock was the day when the referee didn’t have to put his arm up for lying on the room today it was oh it was it was I mean even I wanted to strap the boots on at 42 years old it was wonderful so um yes we we have been unlucky and on a couple of occasions but also this team isn’t used to go having adversity you know last three years we would just come and we would either win and you know it wasn’t it wasn’t what we what we wanted last year this year we’ built something and you could see it tonight I mean it really we clicked and I mean 45 points to 15 after that first 5 minutes I went to go fetch a ball over the wall and we were 12 nil down I’m like guys what’s going on here and then with then the guys kind of Switched on it was and you know just we’ve built such a fabulous team and they are such a good bunch of guys and today like today Andre F got man of the match and we’ve been waiting that guy’s been itching to have a have a great game and with our Captain Dan was incredible as well so you know we’ve got a wonderful bunch of men and today played for each other and the lead now needs to open up we just gave Martis 45 points you know and one and one all these little one pointers we are a strong side and I I hope that uh next week we can replicate it you know it’s important against Kayla as well it’s not going to be easy yeah see Kayla they beat blackfell just the other day so Kayla are you playing them at home or the way at home at yeah okay so the basically at times when I’ve been here and you’ve strapped them on in an Administration role and thank you for that service sir you’ve strapped them on to support your Club in the game of rugby on and off the field of play and you deserve to to go and pop that check C this evening as well I know you always want to stand back and credit the players but just as you’ve always done which I’ve enjoyed a positive word there for Martis our friends as well oh yes I’ve play I had the fortune of playing with with with the Martis must be what 18 years ago no not 18 not so no I’m not that old about 10 years ago or so wonderful experience and they’re a wonderful Club everybody just wants to beat Martis you know 90% of the time you Martis ran on the field and they beat you just when you look at those Marine jerse so you know to uh to kabamba and uh and Craig you know unlucky also you know sometimes it’s uh you know these breaks between make the guys a bit ring Rusty and so so but but kabamba said to me we got their best so we very proud of what we’ve achieved today and you know we love playing Martis there’s no skull duggery it’s just pure rugby at its best and that’s why I love playing the university so you know it’s wonderful wonderful uh occasion again and we are ready to go and have a little bit of a shinder in the bar so well go and put the kettle on and I’m sure you’re going to
