it’s going to be a great one a little bit wet but I think it’s going to be a good show Absolutely Vanessa of course a former Canadian rep at the 2013 World Champs great to have her along for the session today so we’re going to start it off with the compound bronze medal match in the women’s competition and the two archers just been introduced to everybody here in suan so the two arches toal rajendra salv of India and Cho yuu of Korea these are two young archers particularly s she’s just 16 years of age and has done Terri perfect job to get through to the bronze medal latch qualified in Ninth Place score of 686 4010 in her ranking Round field of 29 for the women’s compound and she’s had a great time here in suan with a silver medal in the teams event two career going on to win that and Cho she has done particularly well to come through as well to the bronze medal match she qualified in 10th place with a score of 682 before she was beaten in the semi-final so it’s going to be sou to begin proceedings you can tell how wet it is there um the target is just completely soaked um I wonder if it’s a tougher to be first in these types of conditions or second to see what your opponent does to start off well it’s a good pointment Vanessa I mean I’m you an experienced that what is it like paint a picture for us here what is it like shooting in Rain like this yeah the rain you know I would take rain over wind any day because it’s quite predictable your bow gets wet your string gets wet your arrows get a bit heavier and everything goes lower so you know what to do for compounds it’s a little bit more complicated because they have these sights and Peeps and if those get wet that’s your the only way of seeing the target that’s going to be completely blocked but these archers look like they are climatizing quite well and these first arrows are just sighting arrows and they’re just going to try and find the middle so the first end coming to an end and there’s another nine for S so she’s going to finish with 28 to start this match and Cho looking for a a perfect 30 from 30 with this Arrow looks pretty good in fact it’s very good I bet what she did was she probably mov yeah I I agree I bet what she probably did was moved her sight low just to start before the competition she knew that it was going to be wet they came from a practice range and all she had to do a little bit more was move her sight a bit higher and that’s what brought her into the xring yeah really good eff from Cho and uh she going take two point lead beautiful you you could just see see the arrows just soaked with water there and of course you know these arrows are so light the smallest strip of water is going to make them go that much lower yeah it’s an interesting observation so adjustments always look at that Target it is drenched unbelievable so these compound archers were at 50 m not a close distance at all and so that’s a lot of room for these arrows to you know be affected by the conditions on the way not only being soaked when they’re being shot but they’re going to be hitting water droplets on the way as well yeah it’s all part of the challenge of elite competition in any sport really dealing with the condition so CH the local Korean archer off to a good start with a two-point lead leading 30 to 28 after the first of the five ends Sal now to start second just starts off with the nine yeah that was a quick shot and she seems to you know be having trouble finding the middle she needs to calm her nerves focus on the Target and just execute her shot n that’s a tough one so what do you do one Arrow’s gone to the left next Arrow’s gone to the right I mean was it you was it the conditions was it was it you know something’s just going on it’s hard to hard to know what to do next well hopefully she can make the adjustments as Cho has adjusted after that first nine that she scored so Sal now with her last of the second end n 39 so she’s going to be playing a bit of catch up particularly if Cho here can get another 10 and continue to build on this lead as she does so brilliantly that’s excellent archery from her so 29- 27 in that end and it’s already a four-point lead for the Korean compound is such a game of just precision as soon as you open up the door with one points two points it it really really does create create a different game and now with a a four-point lead for Cho it’s going to be really tough for Sal to to make up the effort we’re going to have to start seeing some some 30s from her yes absolutely just 110 from her six arrows so far for the young Indian remember she’s just 16 and uh it’s been wonderful Vanessa hasn’t it over the last well I’m trying to think 12 to 24 months to see the growth and the the rise in the number of world class archers coming out of India oh my my gosh yeah they’ve just been completely dominant and and you’re right salv is only 16 so this is just the start um what a way to start at at a semi-final at the Asia cup so despite her having these nerves maybe and trying to acclimatize we’re going to start to see more of her on this International stage this is really just the beginning for her absolutely and she looks like she’s thoroughly enjoying it too look at the determination she’s uh very very keen to do her best which is just awesome so fourpoint deficit here the South yeah I was going to say I love the way she just settles into her shot you could see that she draws back and then kind of just eases into the string Cho has a little bit more of a rigid shot very characteristic of Korean archers and it works there’s another 10 so there’s that settling I was just talking about just eases in and continues the move movement in another 10 beautiful well chose definitely feeling good right now that’s five four in a row now just dropping the one n so far on her scorecard and now we’re seeing the best of seven with three T and the last was a Jim just took her a bit of time but she looks like she’s settled in I would love to see her continuing that let’s see if Cho gives her any space no wow so four-point lead is going to be preserved by the Korean that’s excellent response from her good pressure created by selfo first there Vanessa but Joe was right up to it wasn’t she yeah and again like this is this is archery you you can’t really tell what your opponent’s going to do and it doesn’t change anything at the end of the day you have to shoot your own three arrows at a time and it really doesn’t matter of course you can put pressure on them but if your opponent’s just as mentally strong as Cho is right now then you got to just shoot your tens that’s all you can do at this point exactly and that is the key to being a great Archer isn’t it vanesse you’ve just got to take the opponent right out of the equation you can’t really do anything or to up upset your opponent the best way to upset your opponent actually is for you to just keep scoring tens you that’s kind of the frustrating part about archery and it’s also the beautiful thing about archery the frustrating thing is that it’s all out of your control the only thing that you can control is really yourself and if your opponent is shooting 10 after 10 after 10 what can you do you just got to try and follow along and do it just like [Music] them so it’s 89 to 85 two ends to play in this bronze medal match don’t forget we have the gold medal match coming up straight after this in the women’s compound and we’re looking forward to bringing you that match between uh another Korean and another Indian so looking forward to that match here s starting the fourth end and she is really starting to find her groove now that’s four on the Trot for her yeah really dialed in let’s see if Cho can keep it up as well oh yep they’re both dialed in at this point now it’s just a game of you know who’s going to let the ball drop can they keep shooting tens under these conditions they know where their sight needs to be who can continue to execute five in a row now for S choing time is trying to line up her eighth here in fact her seventh in a row she’s got a line so that’s another 10 for her yeah if your arrows just barely touching the line it always counts as the higher scoring Point ooh see right there just the smallest little Gap and it’s so unfort just a game of millimeters and that counts as a nine really unfortunate yep that can be the difference between winning and losing for sure and Cho continues with another perfect in that’s three out of the four that she scored Vanessa she’s really going great yeah and what a match up India versus Korea in recent years they’ve just been getting better and better and these are two countries that have just been so dominant in in compound archery I’m not surprised that we’re seeing a bronze medal final with one representative from each country and coming soon with the gold Final as well um they’re just making each other better and constantly setting the B are higher well these two are certainly of high quality just going back through their previous results here in this Asia cup self did drop a 149 in her quarterfinal win over the top seed simu in of Korea so she was really uh going great in that match and Joo she is definitely On Target here for her best score she had her highest winning score so far is 147 so she’s Is On Target to beat that by two points here and uh good time to do it too when a medals at stake so here we go with the fifth and Final End toal rendra s to go first I I find Sal’s shots are often quite quick it’s almost like she doesn’t have enough time to settle and really aim as you can see with Cho right here it’s often a bit of a crap shoot when that happens cuz the less time you have at full draw your arrow could either you know your your site might not be on the exact spot that you want it to be let’s see it’s going to be a quick shot yeah I mean sometimes that’s a good thing because you don’t want to get in your head being at full draw too long but then if you don’t have enough time to settle and really aim it could it could be a gamble there’s another one Santa from show that’s his second of the contest and uh with one Arrow left s needs an absolute Miracle here to win the bronze and she finishes in style but Cho all she needs to do is get this one on the Target and she has a bronze medal here in suan and she finishes with another 10 she’s just dropped the one point in the contest outstanding performance from Cho yuu to win the bronze and she’s going to win it by a decent margin as well not bothered by the wet conditions whatsoever in fact she thrived in the wet conditions outstanding performance for her to win the bronze over to xal rajendra Sal of India and you can tell right after herself she had a big smile on her face you could see that she’s happy to be here again only 16 years old she really did pull it together halfway through the match and I was happy to see her shooting a lot of T I think she shot a great match for sure so there is the win Cho yuu of Korea getting the win remember there was a field of 29 archers that started and we have the fifth and the third seeds coming through to the final Park the fifth seed with six 89 in the qualification s of India third with 693 so just four points above p so interesting routes both archers have taken to reach the final we’ve had uh sey winning all three of her matches by decisive margins by Five Points each match won by Five Points so she’s been going particularly well Park well she uh needed a shoot off in the semi-final went over Sal who we’ve just seen beaten in the bronze medal match and so park needed to go dead center there to win that so well done to her her other winds were couple of tight ones too one pointers so this going to be interesting the S need to go first another young Indian coming through the system she’s just 17 and speaking of youngsters Vanessa Park is only 18 oh my goodness you know this makes me so jealous they always say the you youth is wasted on the young um they what a future both of these archers have ahead of them um it was an interesting shot from puck right there it went quite high in the eight uh we’ll have to see if she can okay and maybe the damage wasn’t that bad it’s always when you I I was talking about how you can’t control what your opponent does but when they do something like that and drop an eight after you shoot an eight you do feel a sense of relief well there must be some nerves at play you’d think with both of these archers fairly barly inexperienced at this level rains falling gold midle at stake it all adds up but s settled nicely and there’s a second 10 for her she’s going to lock in 28 out of 30 in the first end Park needs a 10 here to stay in touch doesn’t quite get there so a two-point deficit for the Korean after the first in yeah and you you could see from that last arrow that she knew exactly where it was going probably her sight was dipping a bit low um you know you never hold completely still at full draw you’re always kind of drifting and if you can feel that you’re drifting low at that last moment and that’s exactly when you let go she was overcompensating she was pulling her arm to try and bring that back up you just see the rain just falling down so hard here yeah it’s a uh oh there’s that there’s of arm yeah obviously made the adjustments there Vanessa because uh well she needs to make adjustments rather no tens in that first end for her and she’s going to have to start scoring tens to stay in touch because the Indian looks like uh she settled fairly well yeah I think that’s the toughest part about shooting on shooting a match like this a gold medal match it’s a finals you know everything that you’ve worked towards has come to to this moment can you settle your nerves and come out you know like as soon as you’re out the gates that’s what’s going to set apart the winner and the loser here you got to just come out ready to shoot 10 longer hold that time from Park just to start the second energy still not able to score a 10 just yet yeah she looks very you can tell just why she’s exactly exactly she looks very confident finally a 10 there for Park it’s taken five arrows okay and without a doubt s dialed in I wonder if Park can really trust that previous shot and just recreate it right now there we go oh she’s got a lock in 55 S can extend that lead by another point with another 10 and look at those groupings of arrows there she looks really good at the moment siny 30 from 30 looking fantastic three-point lead off two ends the contrast between these two archers right now I mean you could even you can tell her nerves right now she’s feeding her chest you know she’s trying to calm herself down archery is all about confidence it everybody knows how to shoot tens it’s a matter of can you let yourself do the work to shoot the 10 can you trust yourself to do it again and again and right now S without a doubt has has that confidence she’s trusting her shot and she’s able to do it unfortunately Park’s having a bit of a harder time and after missing the 10 again and again it’s harder to trust that you could really do it in your next Arrow and the other thing to Vanessa is that it does it get into your head too you know you start a match and particularly in compound where tens get scored regularly by everyone you know and and she misses four in a row does it start to get in your head oh I’ve got to get a 10 with this one I’ve got to get a 10 with this one yeah it it’s such a tough thing because you can’t just you can’t try harder it’s it’s so frustrating because you almost just need to tone it back and like let yourself just do it because the harder you try the more you almost get further from being able to let yourself do it you got to just trust your training you got to trust your process and just let yourself execute it I tell you what it’s really nice to see Pac Just sh hearing a joke there or a relaxed conversation with her coach there that uh I think is going to help in that aspect such an important part of the sport dealing with when you’re not shooting because there’s a lot of downtime in competition yeah exactly and these coaches need to know their archers so well you know maybe maybe previously Cho didn’t like to joke around and she wasn’t that type of Archer but they need to know what these archers need at a given time and help calm their nerves well Park certainly looking more comfortable on yeah looking more shooting comfortable rather on the shooter line now it’s three T in a row for her n and there’s s just missing one their first and Five Arrows [Applause] you could see some wobbling in her arm it’s almost like she’s losing some tension there but I’m happy to see that she’s enjoying herself and seems to have calmed down a bit where was look at that bow arm so solid continues to push towards the target but is now opening the door for Puck a little bit yeah just those last two just drifting left for S adjustments to a bow required oh only just missing the perfect score door there so 29 but she is going to take a uh she going to cut that deficit by at least one and it will be just one because s comes back with a maximum that was an inevitable almost wasn’t it so park 2928 lad two with two ends to play I can’t help but notice the holes on their target and on s’s Target all of her Miss shots have gone left whereas with Park shots they’ve kind of gone a little bit all over the place so it’s tough to be the Archer where your arrows have gone all over the place because you don’t really know how to put your finger on your mistakes whereas with siny she knows that she’s doing something to make her arrows go left every single time it’s easier to catch your mistakes in that sense that last replay was telling too the need to see the the water coming off the bow as it release the arrow yeah these archers are shooting close to 60 lbs of weight that’s that’s a lot of weight to be carrying luckily for compounds they’re actually only holding a fraction of the actual weight because they have those wheels and pulley that you can see um so they can hold with a fraction of the weight but that that water is just being splashed off their limbs as soon as they let go it’s just being shot out just as fast as the arrows well it was a three-point deficit after two in now it’s just two Parker Begins the Long Haul back after a a lowc scoring start to this to this gold mdle match and that isn’t going to help ni longer holding there’s another one left Vanessa interesting yeah so what makes arago left there’s a couple of things um if you’re maybe aiming to the left of course if your arm starts drifting to the left but I wouldn’t think it’s that necessarily because it’s so consistent um it could also be that her her arm tension is you know constantly going towards the left as she’s breaking maybe she’s putting too much pressure and breaking so her arm drifts towards to the left um an arrow could be shot quite strong with a lot of force uh causing it maybe to go to the left you need some good balance and um what she’s doing right there was moving her sight cuz maybe her roof was quite good but just going to the left well Park hasn’t been able to get a 10 in that end that’s disappointing for her so Sig with the last Arrow of the fourth end now looking to perhaps build that lead up to Four Points she’s done so brilliantly yeah so we don’t see any holes on the right side of her Target so you know what maybe her arrows were actually quite good she was just getting a group and all she really needed to do was give her sight a couple of clicks move her sight to the left and then her group would start Mo drifting towards the right don’t forget folks you’re watching the gold medal match here at the Asia cup in the compound coming next we have the men’s bronze medal and then the men’s gold medal matches in the compound and we conclude the session a little bit later with all the action in the recurve it’s a wet morning in suan with that temperature around about 22 23° so it’s not cold but it is humid and wet archers seem to be enjoy for archery yes indeed and uh well siny just seems to be handling these conditions better in this match one end to go four points is the advantage for her it’s going to be tough for Park to to haul back a four-point deficit but she’s going to give it her best to see if that can happen that’s better she needs three of those in this end to have any chance and she’s going to need sign to drop her level Just a Touch Too let see if she can handle the pressure here in this last end doing her best to try and catch up signing now very important arrow for her oh down it goes so this is interesting it’s still a two-point Advantage for S last Arrow of the match oh PK just could have nailed that 10 so s for the win needs an eight or higher and she wins brilliantly putting it right in the middle of the X zone that’s brilliant what a finish from kumut the 17-year-old Indian and she is the winner of the compound women gold medal match here at the Asia Cup in suan for 2024 and finally we get to see some emotion on there her face that’s quite an achievement for her Vanessa yeah what I love to see about her shooting was that it was just so consistent you know if she did have a mistake it went out to the left but all she had to do was move her sight that just speaks to how much confidence she had and how much she trusted her shot she was dialed in she continued to execute and she has a well-deserved gold yeah brilliant effort and the Indian Camp thoroughly delighted with that and so they should be and in the end it’s going to be a let’s have a look here if I get my maths right 143 to 140 I think was the final score there a threo win there for can one of these archers that got to 40 in the world rankings back in 2022 but he’s uh fallen off that level just trying to reestablish himself now and Mizuki his W ranking at the moment is 26 he’s been as high as 20 that was in December last year well Mizuki was the top qualifier in the ranking round in a field of 36 he finished with 710 it’s just four off his career best and it’s a great effort from him to top the standings was beaten in the semi-finals though by Andre tuun of Kazakhstan the Asian champion from last year beaten by two points and then K on the other side he finished second in qualification just one point behind Mizuki he was beaten by his compatriot Lee Yun 148 to 147 just a point in that one pretty highs scoring match too so let’s get this match underway Muki to go first from [Applause] Malaysia you can see he’s making adjustments right away he knows that was a good shot but for some reason it went to the left so he’s just going to move his sight hope it goes in the middle local fans in the stands they love that start from Kung it was right on the money and that’s another funny thing so he’s moving aside again Archer is also kind of frustrating in that sense you move your sight and it goes in the same spot so then you move your sight and then it goes to complete opposite side so we’ll see if it goes in the middle for him I’m hoping he doesn’t have to deal with that kind of frustrating uh sight adjustment let’s hope it’s not one of those days for Mizuki Vanessa no going bottom left there for him so 39 he’ll be disappointed with that start now Kung can really make a flying start with his third straight 10 oh and he’s only a millimeter away from it looks like it’s just missed hasn’t it yeah but I I would love to be K in this position right now starting out with two1 I mean that’s the kind of confidence that you need in in this type of a match that really sets the tone for the rest of the arrows that you’re going to shoot because you’re no longer guessing if you’re cited incorrectly now you know that you could just execute and continue to shoot them the way you just did well Muki too he he will have that knowledge just going through his resume here too vaness he’s very successful on the Asian on pre circuit five Golds four Silvers three B bronze and various competitions going all the way back to 2018 so uh he knows he can do it that’s the thing he’s got some experience and some success behind him yeah for sure and when you can shoot a match like this with having all of that experience behind you uh these types of arrows when you start off with aren’t really going to affect you that much uh you you know that you can do it you know that you just have to pull P it together um and you have the experience to uh remind yourself that you do know how to kind of do this thing it’s a two-point game after the first end Kang the Korean in front Mizuki to go first again and that is hopefully going to get yeah exactly but hopefully that 10 will get Mizuki off and flying here 10 and there’s a 10 response by Kong he’s not giving him much of an opportunity yeah K looks like he’s got the look in his eye hasn’t he he’s going to give his opponent absolutely nothing in this Final in this bronze medal match rather n just out there again just counts as a nine unfortunately um not touching that 10 Ring 10 well that is an excellent response from mazuki perfect 30 from 30 now King Kong preserve his lead n oh another Miss so we’re going to have a tied match after two ends 57 all yeah and I loved how you’re talking about his experience there this really does speak to mizuki’s experience if it were any other Archer who who didn’t have that wealth of experience behind him he might be really worried right now by giving giving a lead to his opponent but all he did was move his sight unfortunately he has a a low group still the site seems to not be responding as he wants but still managed to get those arrows into the 10 now he just has to continue what he’s doing and now the the mental challenge for K is completely different isn’t it to Vanessa from the first end you know two-point lead has been eliminated after the very next end and it’s going to be fascinating to see how he responds here yeah and you could see his response right there he seemed frustrated he knew exactly where that Arrow was was going as soon as he shot it um and you know you have to remind yourself at this point that arrow is gone you can never take it back all you can do is now shoot the next arrows that are in your quiver and you know try and do the best you can that’s all you can do am Muki fantastic last end three1 interesting to see them all just drifting low again yeah gravity can be a pain in the butt sometimes can it yeah I don’t know who turned up the gravity for Mizuki but it seems to be unfair to him today K back on track that’s his fourth 10 from Seven Arrows so far 10 oh yes finally an arrow that is above that Center Line he’s still a bit left but I just be happy to be getting a little bit higher again you can see that he just wasn’t happy with it he could feel that it was going left so he broke his shoulder and tried to just push it to the right but it just wasn’t enough got on from Mizuki another 10 to win that end 86 for him K now let’s see if he can keep the scores locked n oh there is another drop point so a two-point Advantage after the first end now is a onepoint deficit for the Korean Mizuki has his nose in front yeah the tables have turned really quickly um you could you just see the frustration on kung’s face everything is just and he’s just looking very I mean that’s a big sigh right now and you can tell that Mizuki on the other hand looks very calm I I just want to draw your attention to that release Aid that’s just off the screen now but they oh and this was when Kung his Arrow just fell off the rest but you can see that both of these archers are using the same type of release and we could watch it in the next end they have a button that they press with their thumb and so as they’re pulling back there’s added tension between their release Aid and their thumb and it just serves kind of as a as a trigger pretty much when there’s enough tension on that button the release SE will open and the arrow will go flying off the [Music] string well this match is very nicely poised nice start for K in this [Applause] four so as I was saying earlier that thumb is off the release he but now he’s just adding pressure unfortunately another low shot luckily for Mizuki it just stayed in the nine Zone KH looks like he’s got his form going again oh my goodness it’s just going back and forth this is a tight match and now it’s just a matter of who’s got a tougher mental game a that’s an excellent End by Kung at just the right time as well perfect 30 from 30 the first time he’s Ned it in this match now can Mizuki keep Pace with the Korean yes he can and it’s apt this match is all locked up with one end to go oh what an exciting match so a nine is it it really opens up the door right now these guys are shooting tens 10 after 10 at 50 m that’s really not an easy feat we don’t see how far 50 m really is on the screen but I’d like to challenge anybody watching you know Pace out 50 m and and imagine shooting a 10 it’s just like the size of a of a of a baseball really with an arrow at 50 m that’s not easy to do and these guys are just incredible absolutely identical scorecards too seven T from both of them and they are really can’t split them at the moment this match is kind of balanced on the edge of a credit card at the moment and which way is it going to fall will it for Malaysia’s way or Korea’s way that’s the question you wouldn’t pick it I’m certainly not game enough to pick ituki against K here for the bronze medal in the the bronze medal match let’s see Mizuki going first and this last end 10 n oh who yeah there’s an opport oh he just looks very frustrated he knows how important it is there’s only a few arrows to go you need to be shooting tens at this point which is exactly what Mizuki is doing that could be the bronze medal gone for Kung he needs a 10 no matter what nice come back from him he looks frustrated still doesn’t he but it’s nothing he can do about it so Mizuki for the win here a 10 will be enough yes what a finish for Mizuki and he’s got the bronze medal started a bit rough with a 27 in his first end trout by two points but he’s come back and K well he’s finished with a 10 to but unfortunately Ely he’s going to be one point short and Mizuki boy there was tension in that match just gets there 145 to 144 oh it was just back and forth the entire time Mizuki you know really dropping the ball when when they started but he pulled it back together he had a beautiful group and all he had to do was try to bring it into the middle stay calm and that’s exactly what he did well well done yeah effort from Mizuki he’s now got two medals here in suan he got a gold in the men’s teams and they beat career in that final that’s a massive achievement for the Malaysian team winning that 236 to 234 and Kang well he unfortunately is going to finish not with three again a couple of teenagers out to compete for the gold Here Comes Lee Yun ho 18-year-old from Korea another one just coming through the ranks and Andre tun how good was he at the Asian Champs last year remember his performance very clearly winning the gold medal at the age of just 17 [Music] [Music] is well there was a field of 36 in the men’s compound and toon only qualified in 13th Place so he’s done brilliantly to come through beat the second seed in the one8 eliminations and had a a good win over Mizuki who we just saw win the bronze in the semis 147 to 145 and Lee Yun H the 18yearold qualified in third place the score of 707 bang donon 148 147 in the semifinals it’s going to be the Korean to go first it’s going to be a great match what an opening for him ooh interesting it’s a very high draw towards his forehead and comes down yeah he’s a good Archer Vanessa just keep your R to your knee he knows how he knows what he’s doing on the shooting line don’t worry about that you know and despite his form being so unique all he needs to do is you know recreate it’s it’s such an individual thing you don’t have to shoot like the best person you don’t have to look like them just got to shoot like yourself the thing I remember about tun from those Asian Champs last year Vanessa is how mentally mature he is for his age he was he just handled absolutely everything in Bangkok with great skill but the way Lee has started here he’s going to need all of that skill to keep Pace with this 18-year-old Korean wonderful start there is the first Miss in the match so it’s going to be a onepoint Advantage for Lee after the first end these young guys you know coming to the Asia cup and and being in the gold medal match it must be nice to you know have these experiences at such a young age and having you know a whole career to look forward to I really look forward to seeing what these guys are going to get up to in the next couple of years hopefully in the next 5 10 years I’d love to see a lot more of them both of them look Fearless don’t they oh they really do and you know I wonder how much of it is like ignorance is bliss but you know you know toan already has a success sometimes it’s harder for Archers to win their second title but because they know what it means to win they have that pressure now but you know maybe it kind of speaks to his mental fortitude he seems to look like it has never affected him and he’s just going for his first win he looks so calm and confident well Le obviously driven to he knows if he can win here he’s taking out by the current Asian champion and that’s no mean feat he’s one point ahead let’s see howun can handle the second end n so all his arrows are yeah just a little bit low he needs to move his sight a bit Lee has a very very quintessential Korean form looks like he came from recvery oh but it’s working for him he looks like he’s having a bit of fun out there I saw a smirk X there we go up into the middle definitely needed that did the kasaka Le just going fantastic at the moment five to start the the match five in a row 10 okay and there’s another one he’s really minimizing the damage as much as possible but if Lee can shoot a 10 here he’s going to open up that Gap a bit more and put more pressure onto it and for sure NOA there we are the first Miss there for Lee in the match he going back through there he’s trying to get that hand in the same position every single shot this is the men’s gold medal match in the compound here suan about an hour and a half south of soul on a wet morning but the Archer’s been compelling so far he takes us a look to the right every time before he comes to full draw I find it interesting let’s take a look next time he shoots again toon has this this pinky finger that’s that’s kind of moving there and and then look at how still he looks yeah despite all that movement when he’s at full draw he’s just completely still yeah he’s a strong L isn’t he oh it didn’t like that one n no you could see that he just wildly pulled his arm towards the right hoping to get a little bit of an effect on an arrow that’s unfortunately already gone you can’t change it after he shoot it brilliant archery there from tootu and he is right back in the game now fantastic that’s his per per first perfect score now Lee desperately needs a 10 here see he recovers from that Wayward nine and that blasty arrow and he has now the interest is that first one which is just beside that agents here who uh score and and get the arrows for The Archers who are shooting and then those arrows are then delivered by Runners um so you don’t have a lot of control over the score all you have control over is how you shoot him well we can tell you that Arrow was a 10 the first one from Lee so we are at a tied match with two ends to [Music] goly just showing a few Signs Now that he might not be able to maintain that really brilliant start where he scored 51 in a row at the start of the match to is starting to look more and more comfortable with each Arrow the middle end uh the middle part of the match is is a really interesting part because it’s five ends can you maintain that pressure on the opponent uh in the middle of the match because this is sometimes where the tides start to turn and and Lee’s really opening up the door now it seems like he’s letting go of you know that that consistency he had with his shots to start off with and we’ll see if toan can capitalize on these opportunities yeah that’s just grabbed the line too by the look of it very close though but toon just going back over the last six arrows Toon’s got six t in a row assuming that one’s upgraded and Lee has just two so there’s been a big shift here nice come back by Lee so can toan get his eighth 10 in a row at a critical time of this gold middle match there’s your answer yep there it is was as I was saying you know it’s the middle end that’s so important it’s hard to you know Focus for in entirety of a match and the winner so can Lee put some pressure on him and shoot some tens here Final End of the men’s compound Andre to Yun of Kazakhstan up against Lee yunho of Korea it’s to yut Yun in front by two nice from Lee that’s a fantastic start yeah that’s exactly what he needs let’s see if toan can really start to close in on his gold medal opportunity here okay this is super impressive from tun long hold for Lee there and again he didn’t like it as it went low and left yeah exactly long hold and what does long hold do that it it means that you’re just not executing as as comfortably as you want to and when that happens you start to get into your head even just for that fraction of a second so it’s a three-point Advantage with one Arrow left Lee finishes strongly but to yuton for the win needs an eight or higher and it’s going to be another gold in a major event for him n well it drops below the 10 Zone but it doesn’t matter Andre tun has got another title the impressive 17-year-old is just he has nerves of Steel at the moment and Lee well he gave it a good shot but there’s your winner Andre tootan of Kazakhstan who wins 147 to 145 what a great match by to and he just looks so calm and and composed throughout he looks like someone who’s been shooting for about 40 years but he’s so young without a doubt we’re going to continue to see uh a lot more of this guy in the future well as will ranking is 25 finess and the way he’s going that’s he’s going to be inside the top 20 after this I’m sure and he’s going to be racing towards the top 10 yeah and with that I would love to see Kazakhstan as a
