[Music] [Music] [Applause] hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to Championship Sunday here at the 2024 Music City open presented by Lone Star dis I’m Jeremy coing he’s Paul eberry we are big berry commentary bringing you the conclusion of this six stop on the disc golf pro tour for the 202 for season and Simon lazat just put a stamp on it eight down on the front nine blistering performance if somebody wants to make a race out of this they’re going to have to get on the horse and ride they’re going shoot they’re going to have to shoot 11 under the back nine no they’re just going to have to put a little pressure on which they haven’t done at all they haven’t done it they need to start birding and birding a lot in a row if that happens maybe there’s some sort of possibility but if he keeps making 30f Footers there’s just no chance I I don’t see a lot of trouble he can get in on winning is cool man winning is really cool Simon’s done a lot of it in the last 23 months he’s won six times in the disc golf pro tour in the last two years it’s been an incredible Run for the veteran from Germany but man what a performance he’s putting forward here and coming into this event he was two for two at the Music City open one in 2015 I believe so yeah and then last year at 2023 different layout this year but still the same performance thus far it has been impressive to say the least the putter has just not hit the ground this disc right here won’t hit the ground for a long time one of the things I love about Simon is he makes it just looks so simple with his angles it’s just like okay Spike Heiser here yeah just soft anheiser with my mid-range anyone could do it you know you could do it yeah and then he just putts it in there really nicely too all right after further consideration those are leaves on Chris’s shirt I will not bring it up again I thought that was kind of weird that you said that but I I believed you believe they were chicken they kind of looked like the the drumsticks or the wings good shot for Chris good lift here for genon this is going to push pretty dang far oh stay in bounds okay it does now that opens up the big forehand Flex Shot very good as well right in the center perfect if you want to go forehand for your second shot Simon’s been throwing great back hands up this uphill window just got to M miss the base I don’t know if this is gonna that got real sticky yeah there’s a big old log right there he hit it he’s not quite sure what’s going on there it’s not out of bounds don’t worry does he want it to be out of Bounds at this point is he like advocating for it to be out of bounds I think maybe somebody over there gave them an X like bummer yeah but they don’t know what they’re talking about if this has the distance to get through it’s perfect oh and it is Flash and change there for a moment I saw somebody in the comment saying you should never say perfect unless it’s in the hole well that’s just a matter of your opinion this one is going to get the Skip and this is dare I say it wait close to good now that was a great shot for Chris wow I haven’t seen this one does this have enough to get up the hill yeah kind of does hasn’t been ganon’s number one putting day of his career but he has another chance to change the tune of this round Simon getting aggressive for no reason I mean he’s got pretty decent reason the putter has not hit the ground how’s it been his day has been his wild to see him get a par Chris for a nice birdie earned yeah it’s it’s a solid birdie it’s one that you feel good about it seems like it’s on the easy side but it is tricky oh for sure I mean the t-shots kind of awkward you have a little bit of low ceiling um it’s pretty wide open once you get past that but there is a big second shot that you have to throw up to 12 I’ve got mortar into the basket Bullseye maybe just outside no Bullseye yeah that’s I was like just too far to drop it in with no CH he it guess yeah it was so weird how he did that definitely trying to avoid the [Music] Hees okay anybody making a move anywhere Anthony BR and yesi all Yona hinding in playing good but not pushing for for the lead that’s what I was seeing if there’s anybody like 12 under and then Simon had to catch up to him or something you know what I mean like catch up as far as the holes go but he’s Far and Away clear of everyone by six shots now it’s it feels like a couple more birdies a couple more birdies it’s over it’s just a yeah done deal he can start playing as less less Paul guitar yeah we’ll start talking about that Podium action Chris this needs to get lucky it kind of does so wow that was a big t- shot yeah playing for the behind the basket stall to Heiser back play and mcbeth’s been loving this forehand down the left route and this is a I mean this is like a full grown man forehand this is a big shot to get there and he knew exactly where I was going to land as soon as it left his hand he said that’s going to be under underneath that tree and that’s pretty much exactly where it landed Simon gave us a treat in round two almost aced it is this high enough get around it oh boy go in like weird good gon skying this one does it have enough it just doesn’t quite it almost got to that hole started breaking back to it but now he’s got a little nose up and that will do and Paul underneath the tree it’s a fun little horse shot oh no that’s oh no that was so good he deprived of us okay well no slowz but we do get to nomz this is so good J stripe back out yeah man as a commentator I say man that’s a bad break as a player I say let’s standardize our Target whoa what’s this little misc so what was going to be a great day for Simon is now a sad day cuz he’s missed a putt here 11 it was a sad day on this screen for these guys honestly we had Ganon started off by a wo as me layup Paul with a dead center pop back Chris just didn’t really give it a chance yeah but boy come on do your job eat it up come on you’re hungry I was on the Strip man and you know that gets down to five shots mhm we got seven holes left you know we can start talking about some stuff but instead it’s whole 12 par 4 763 ft over the top flex play some players have intentionally been really sending this out far right which is all safe and then playing a backhand back door play Heiser over the trees the ideal play would probably be the flex play that pushes that left side OB line for the straightest forehand approach into the basket extremely overstable disc this one is fighting back that is Monster oh you did you miss it I saw it okay poor guy oh Paul oh he fights through hardly even slowed down I don’t think it did slow down I think it just went through everything nice little break certainly time making sure he gets this one high and over the trees this might be an uh interesting place he’s gone too far to have a good angle over the trees I don’t really know what he’s going to be left with this one looks really good as well does it go too far though everyone stays on their feet and G his Drive finds The Spectator rope line it’ss around the corner it’s great oh did that hit cage I don’t know it looked like it hit the tree then maybe the basket yeah let’s take another look at this one this is awesome tree oh the wheel okay caught a piece of it so so Simon’s looking to go big anheiser so that’s the Simon line for this hole oh just takes off that could have rolled forever but now he’s he’s going to catch some trees on the green and he’ll have a look for the birdie he just intentionally throws a roller and it and it works that’s hilarious to his credit it was a uh accurately thrown roller into the green and Ganon spikes this one up the hill that’ll be a fast putt back down and Chris beautiful got just enough ceiling opening right there for Chris to access it on a nice high Spike iser that’s the Ganon that’s the Ganon we were expecting to see [Applause] today birdie almost a 30 under par it’s been a while since we’ve had a a player really run away mhm it’s I mean it’s just it’s difficult to deliver a a dramatic sequence of words when a player is just been so dominant trying to find a way to keep it engaging as far as the competition goes really I it’s just more of an awe like right now I’m just enjoying what I’m seeing man yeah and I mean and it’s great to see when the player is getting the breaks and capitalizing and making putts and throwing great shots and that’s what Sim’s doing cheers to helping new players to high fives and encouragement to being a positive light while helping grow the sport cheers to you Ranger team thank you well things can get interesting on this one a lot like eight this one has a lot of out of bounds it’s very tight par 4 741 out of bounds left right the whole entire time and you have all these little trees in here that can kick in and make you have to earn it so big numbers can be had on this one but if you play it correctly just throw mid-range down the middle throw another mid-range and it seems pretty simple but this one I I see a lot of big numbers being this is another great hole Yeah it’s one of my favorites for sure it’s just for me it’s a it’s a unique hole design it doesn’t really emulate anything else we play with the way it’s sloped the wide open shot going into the tunnel and the interesting ground play that really exists once you get down there with all the rocks and the sticks and The Roots and whatnot and the OB line to keep you honest at the end very good right in the middle Simon going with very overstable disc he just wants to dig that’s what he does this one’s lifting germ it’s okay yeah it’s just going to be longer into the pin 400 plus perhaps but it’s all downhill what a oh my gosh slow down maybe oh wow puts the brakes on in time almost catches a skateboard ramp into into the basket that was that was killer Shred the Nar dude wow that it’s a good thing it hit that tree not that it would have found out of bounds but that that’s as close as the disc was going to be to the basket you agree oh absolutely your spot on it’s a little tricky in there those are both really top- notot shots from Chris and Ganon Simon pulling this one a little bit right hits a tree knock straight down that’s just fine here on 13 so if Simon gets the 30 under par it will not be here on this hole but he is still bogey free for the event Paul no zero bogeys how many does Paul have not too many no I it would have to be first round I guess maybe second round yeah whole nine first round for for MC Beth okay good approach there this will be the first time that Paul will not birdie whole 13 he played this one very well thus far far Simon’s just trying to get funky from everywhere that’s awesome and it just sticks underneath the basket that’s kind of cool it is cool as a cool guy move look at this wide stance I like this oh pretty putt that’s a good birdie Canon just inside the circle been having some struggles from this distance and you called it man once again can’t believe it it’s just not been gur’s day that being said maybe the worst product we’ve seen from him this year and he is still in 10th Place yeah I mean it’s just like couple birdies away from a nice like seventh to yeah sixth place finish and it’s just all the work he’s oh okay so he’s saying it went through chains it didn’t seem like that great of a putt I mean there’s spit outs and then there’s chain outs that was more in the chain out side if you ask me but Chris Dickerson’s getting things going now he’s 400 in the last five keep an eye on that he’s still trying to stay in his top five streak that’s something that you know I’m sure he’s very proud of gotten top he’s taken top five in every single MCO he has ever played and right now he is on Pace for another one in fourth place currently tied with Jake keimer I believe as we fly over the very short technical par 314th 294 ft requires an just a Flex Shot you got to start off left bend it to the right and have it heer back just in time very fun hole once they removed that tree that was in the middle of the Fairway last year that being said the tead is still faced in in a weird Direction how good is that this is going to be three for three for Chris [Applause] Dickerson just never leaving the Fairway from the middle see that that yeah you couldn’t possibly hit anything got the he got the nose angle perfect he got the the disc selection the angle of release everything height oh well he’s going to have to make that to continue the trend of the accordion scores that he has Paul has gone birdie par birdie par birdie par as far as our scorecard will let us see overturned double kick back to the middle I’m sure it won’t be penalized for sure that was really smooth it’s I okay we’re going to play the game we’ve seen Chris go three for three on it but the world is going to be attacked by aliens and destroyed if you someone doesn’t birdie this hole do you put Ganon on the line or do you put Christ those are my only two options well who do you put in the world let me think about it that’s a big decision man okay the world’s relying on you pal MC Beth from 55 and he continues the trend I’ll take that guy whoever that guy is he’s my new favorite if he can make it from there he’s given us a really good chance good these guys are just parking it no the stipulation is you got to be in the circle oh you got to throw it all on the t-shot it’s all on the t-shot yeah not that guy then he’s out I ain’t taking that guy well then you have your answer folks Chris Dickerson our planet savior yes and everybody celebrates and the event is taking place in Tennessee that’s also a very important note oh yeah we’ll take Chris all day through this whole great this week nice anheiser right through the Gap and he did it with a stand still which is very unique up on the par five 15th Ricky Waki with his approach two good shots are needed to get to that place and he leaves that going a little short four Pars in a row coming into this putt here and the putter remains hot Ricky currently in third place trying to chase down that Podium so he had an opportunity for a scorcher oh yeah it’s Ricky final day yeah what do you expect a scorcher look at the top three it reminds me of that amazing playoff we had all those years ago I think maybe was 2018 at in Augusta when Ricky Simon and Paul McBeth were the top three players in the world and they had a three-way playoff yeah pretty incredible Stu cut roller on the first hole Yeah Yeah flying over an 1100t hole folks par five t-shot just want to push that left side OB to give yourself a good angle to get over the creek and two that’s a good looking shot for Chris very controlled not a lot of movement once it lands and it’s on the far left well not far left but more left than center of the Fairway which is where you want to be gives you a way better angle this needs to sit if it does does this is going to be I think great it’s fantastic yeah that’s that’s extra nearly ideal I mean if you’re straddling the line over there that’s where you really want to be on the OB line to the left and Sim’s really been trusting just starting it off left and just throwing a shot that’s not Heering much but he’s just forcing the issue early making sure it goes left and once again he executes a really nice throw what a has been to be able to see all three of his rounds this week absolutely skip uh okay it’s fine but it’s a harder second shot than the other fellas and flexing right through the middle that is a touch of class good distance controlled distance but again just like his t-shot in the last hole never in any danger of hitting any of the obstacles in the way once again Simon is just glued to this idea of going Spike Heiser over the top for a second well why not pretty good A little tight right there and you know I mean it just opens up another 400t shot that bridge is roughly 430 to the pin and I just the big anheiser shot does potentially find out of bounds and I think Paul is going to be finding that OB unless this gets down quick it does bounce OB so Simon does take that out of play just giving himself a longer approach to the pin there you can see the angle that you’re left with if you don’t get the disc left enough off the tea and that I believe fell into the creek this is turned over is it going to heer in time he does have that boogy free he’s got one bogey oh this round no not this round he’s bogey fore this round but he has not Bogi since whole nine round one fantastic yeah works out great amazing starts off on Heiser does he get through those trees this time of course [Laughter] Paul can hardly take seeing it anymore another good shot with a good result very good that will get him to that 30 Mark he’s been dancing around that line for a little bit he makes that putt he will finally get to the number yay Nice Shot Chris yeah well played hole and that’s going to be six under in the last seven yeah Chris has really come alive on this back part he needed to he very dull front nine there’s a bogey poor MC Beth Canon see if he can get the putter right shocking Miss back there on 14 and once again it’s just a hasn’t been able to figure it out today some days be like that but it do Simon’s got to be like starting to feel it you know starting to think about the what’s going to happen and what’s the first riff you’re going to play dude cuz Simon jams it’s the idea of a guitar as a trophy is just awesome yeah but the idea of a guitar as a trophy to someone who plays a guitar is also just awesome it’s just really cool it’s going to the right person up to 16 Ricky on his second shot looks wide enough right straddling the line whoops was was wide enough I was it was you got it right and nailed it h great PT just a lot of that in round three for Ricky [Music] Yaki beautiful cold day yeah it really was it’s a pretty day the clouds were making some really pretty formations up in the sky today absolutely I need to take me home I can’t see when my heart gone I think about you all the time and I just can’t see you [Music] now H 16 I’m excited about one one particular player on this card seeing what he did Ganon bur going over the top play that we’ve seen in the past Legend has it he gave himself a 40 foot look for Eagle in practice so maybe to kind of have some fun on a not so fun day maybe he’ll go for that big shot you think I don’t know I hope so I saw him do it in round two that’s why okay that’s what I’m hoping everyone else is going to go forehand off the tea even Simon I think so okay is that too short that’s a little short yeah but man remember the big anheiser oh never mind so I’m going to be going backand and that’s fine when you get wide like that you really open up your options it’s just the the shots just a bit lengthier that’s what he does on every hole he opens up his options MH yeah he’s throwing shots at nobody else is throwing too look at this oh he does it he gets the window and the camera operator is not prepared for this moment oh he finds out of bounds but Paul he’s so close to the basket it was an awesome shot you stand on the you look up there is one leafy area where you can imagine a disc punching through and that’s the exact spot ganon’s Drive penetrated through just needed to fight back a little bit more over stability at the end to find the Fairway that’s a silly shot it is a silly shot but I would be lying to say that I haven’t tried it myself oh I used to do it it was a a bigger area much a bigger area yes Paul coming up short don’t know what he’s going to be left with Simon actually got this far enough oh look at this thing turning over Paul Simon is going to be out of bounds short of the corner and he’s going to be in danger of taking his first bogey that’s what it’s come to that is what it’s come to I’m just sad I wanted to see a full bogey free event mhm he can make that I wonder what he’s going to be left with what angle he’s going to have meanwhile Paul having to play the turnover layup shot very similar to what oh gosh that’s so good that is really knowing the sport knowing how to do it right good shot there all right where how early did Simon go in very okay so you know he’s not going to just lay this one up he’s going to give this a bid ah he wanted it but in the end it will be a drop shot so he’s going to get back to 29 can he get back to 30 30 is a sweet magic number to win this event the streak continues yeah this has been awesome back nine he’s just been nearly Flawless holding down that fourth place spot currently and it’ll be par for Ganon once again he’s only dropped to 11th Place not many people on tour can sets up through two rounds to have a round like he’s having and still manag to have a potential top 10 finish he’s got two holes left if he birdies those he can finish still in the single digits and not only that though the conditions are actually really tough out there you’re not seeing it really with this card but watching genon like there’s a lot of other people doing that yeah I mean right now he is one shot back of t7 and that’s any player getting top 10 maybe not Ganon who’s had top four finishes all season but any other player would be just ecstatic to have a top 10 finish as we fly over whole 17 par five 972 ft uphill t-shot really just want to keep it in bounds put yourself in a spot where you can reach The Landing Zone that you want to be on the second throw that’s all that really matters good angle flying back does it have enough to get oh it does to get into a nice spot that’s a great drive there is a very strong wind on this hole headwind which means we are going to have a headwind on whole 18 Again oh jump in the corner that’s just fine you know genon wants to get into a spot where he can try something I don’t know if it’s possible today I know we saw Anthony Barilla get it in round two but the wind was completely different maybe not completely different but definitely wasn’t blowing as hard here Simon nice little jumping up and down through the wind and that is again perfect yep you can see it’s getting a little cold out there too Simon’s hands in his pocket as MC Beth lines up the sidearm Spike Heiser you know need much you just need to get into a good spot yep and that should be fine the crosswind the head crosswind is pushing discs right more than you might feel from this particular spot but that’s not going to affect MC Beth very much it’s good for Ganon pushing that out- of bounds line but he’s going to be left with a straight great shot there it’s going to be tough to throw the flexx or the big spike Heiser from there mhm Simon going with a turnover getting a bit aggressive with this one really that is way more aggressive than you see almost anyone else get it it’s that like in between play where the eagle shot actually goes aggressive and then everyone else lays up to 100 feet short of that yeah maybe 75 feet short of that but still and Chris’s Back N Onslaught continues another shot right into position so he does decide to go with the high stalling sidearm Circle Edge sit sit so that putt would get him to that 19 under Mark that would mean a lot to him I think points cash there a lot of things on the line other than just who wins the tournament yeah obviously he’s going to be disappointed with this play today but once you see get a nice little paycheck like you said the Seventh Place finishes is Big because they’re playing for points and there’s a big battle with a bunch of people right now for that lead and he’s one of them so any points matter here’s Simon going to be running this I’m guessing no oh man what a shot [Applause] though that’s a tap in birdie get back to already under can Chris keep the momentum going from 65 ft oh good line yeah really good line oh boy so it’s going to have to be a birdie on 18 for Ganon if he wants to get back in the single digit placement it’s a good putt there textbook birdie and he’s in second second place 100% bounceback percentage for the tournament for [Music] seven he will lead in that category unless he Bogies whole 18 well then we have to find out what he does next week on whole one we got Chase car check in Podium on the line Ricky right now tied for second place at 24 under and the big headwin turn turns Ricky’s drive over and look at this skip here the disc just stops miraculously and I think it may have collided with an unfortunate volunteer and keeps it out of bounds JM you’re sitting in sixth place need a birdie here to move up a spot this is getting the full Flex can it get in front of those Pines oh wow yeah pretty dang short Ricky leaves a little too much heat on that one probably not expecting that ground play what is this about 60 yeah right at the 60 foot marker you don’t run this do you you run this in wow what a putt through the trees nose up I just found out that I was one shot shy of tying Nicholas anula for fifth place oh my gosh what a that is one I will not forget for a long time Ricky to save the bogey and he does a good hit but that’s going to drop him down to 23 that is currently tied with Chris Dickerson so potentially costly bogey for Ricky as Paul MCB Beth is at 25 [Music] under well it’s final hole Simon gets to March down the Fairway the Victor just one left 520 ft into just a ripping headwind there is OB right there is OB left be interested to see if MC Beth goes with the forehand play that he’s gone with in round one and two yeah not really needing anything I I wouldn’t expect no he’s decided to go back to the back end yeah anything but a very steep Heiser which is what we’re getting and it’s getting a good ride out of it actually yeah similar to you you think he runs it no it’s not a psych not fair Simon doesn’t need it but you know he’s going to try to get it because an ace gives you another guitar that’s that is correct I don’t know if he knows that or not oh that’s such a good shot yeah I was expecting it off the through the tree off the rock Annie skip dead center rolls up the cage in in wins two guitars one week what a special week it’s been for S absolutely it’s been one of those weeks for him this will be win number seven in the last two years time insane that is absolutely insane this needs to get [Music] down it’s been a magical run for Simon and it does Chris Dickerson I said tied for third place right now with Ricky gon really wanting the birdie going low that’s the way to get there in this headwind overstable disc low the flex play look at the skip here Paul okay by that stump he’s going to be circle’s Edge another challenging putt coming up for Ganon very and he has secured another top five finish at the [Applause] MCO second place finish for pal MC Beth and he holds off Ricky and the rest of the field it’s got to be nice going into the major and Simon doesn’t on any part of it you should yeah 30 is a nice number have a seat perfect throne for the king of Nashville to get to 19 under and tie for seventh place Ganon Burr would love to have this putt what a finish through all the Mis putts through all the the air is still able to finish a get a top 10 [Applause] finish how many high fives is this guy going to give how many autographs is he about to sign bunch of bunch of those the people love Simon for good reason [Music] [Applause] [Music] he into the ring oh he’s just going for the [Applause] [Music] hug2 city opened by longar Champion Simon I can’t explain how it happened I just didn’t feel like I was physically ready for this track even last week was challenging but then suddenly everything goes in it’s just I don’t know how it’s wild I feel like everything went my way the sloppy putts went in the other guys got bad luck I got good luck that’s how it goes sometimes it’s a wild game and uh I got to see that guitar on Wednesday Thursday morning man if I want to do it for anything it’s for that guitar my wife’s N9 months pregnant and we’re having we’re having a baby on Thursday morning um now in this form obviously it’s a bit sad to skip on the first major of the year that’s just the timing how it worked out I’m okay with it I’m excited to come home shout out to the wife who’s uh dealing with a 2-year-old boy at home 9 months pregnant I couldn’t do that so thank you [Music] so no Simon for the next two months folks but haven’t you got enough of them I think we have here on tour I mean what better way to bring another child in the wood in the world you know just coming off a great win absolutely dominating the field watch them do their thing for a little bit and he’s going to be able to sit at home and bring a new human fantastic week here just outside now and Antioch Tennessee the sixth stop on the tour has come to an end and Simon lazat is the man once again three for three here at the Music City open and we have a major starting in Just 4 days in Poria Illinois so we got to wrap this up so we can pack things and start driving you’re not wrong man and and congratulations to you two on your fifth place finish man that’s Inc incredible play Feel incredible it’s been a long time since I’ve had a top five on the disc golf pro tour it’s tough to do and some of those yes it is but hey all five players in the top five aside from Nicholas anela in the 30s so we brought we brought it back for the old guys let’s go baby it’s been a fun week like we said that is fun I mean through the long season you’re going to see a lot of different kinds of winners early on in the year we saw just the youngest players you know dominating the sport and then Simon gets one and we might see
