good I might how are we doing today oh ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the channel something about a Bucky hat that just makes me feel like I should have an Australian accent and that’s right we’re going to do this video and probably every video for the next like month in this Bucky hat now we’re here to talk about the good good uh not desert open the other one the good good tournament that’s coming up and creators in it not in it who’s playing who’s not and why we got some information for you but I can’t help but show off the new summer collection I just got shipped out to me uh I had a bunch of stuff arrive the other day including this Bucky hat Baby Nate bies Nate bies these good good towels also the the white one is already on my golf bag and it looks insanely fresh uh but this blue one right here I mean this is just Terry CL I’m I don’t know if I I mean this is the probably the most excited I’ve been since the last time they sent me a bunch of stuff for their last drop so it’s really cool check it out uh all right uh so we’re going to get into the video today let’s hop over to the old screeny screen what I want to talk about the good good event right before I am halfway through the Wesley and o video right here Brian Bros golf I love me a simple title you know I love me a simple title and I feel like you can tell who’s on top of the YouTube golf world when you can just have a simple title Wesley versus OE and a really simple thumbnail two guys side by side versus and it gets 13,000 views in one hour ran Bros are on top of the world right now I love these guys I’m so proud of them just chatting with Wesley this morning man they are some of my favorite people on planet Earth so anyways go check that out this is this was just what I was watching this morning so I figured I would share it with you but what I want to get into good has announced some more additions to their event the Midwest open there we keep want to say desert open it’s not the desert open it’s I can’t stop looking at myself in this hat R here it’s going a little pouch right here too it’s kind of neat anyway all right uh so we got this event the Midwest open coming up we had Garrett Clark and Austin Reeds announced pretty cool my first hot take from this announcement was last time the first pairing announced was Garrett and Grant that was like big this time it’s Garrett and a guy who plays for the Lakers which is cool he plays golf he’s known to be playing golf but he’s not a YouTube golfer so my first hot take was maybe this isn’t really going to be a YouTube golf event maybe this is just going to be a good good and Friends event something a little different than we had last time well that was semi added to with the second pairing announced which is Brad doy and Marquez brownley Marquez brownley one of the biggest if not the biggest Tech YouTubers in the world someone I’ve been a huge fan of for a very long time so I think this one’s super cool huge audience going to bring lots of people in who are Fringe maybe play golf but don’t know about YouTube golf but watches tech reviews and they’re going to come in they’re going to find YouTube golf great for the space okay well move forward the other one we had that came out about a week ago we did talk about Paige spanic and col no okay sweet again people who are very much in the golf world but very much not in the YouTube golf world like yes paig pranic makes YouTube golf videos every time I say this someone’s like I consider a YouTube golfer it’s like okay that’s okay you can consider PA branck YouTube golfer if you want but paig Bran’s way more like normal famous in golf than she is YouTube golf famous if that makes sense like people know good good because of YouTube golf people know gr horror rap because of YouTube golf they don’t know them for anything else golf related whereas paig branck is she’s just like a golf influencer like a golf personality like it’s just cult like obviously his playing days but now his broadcasting days like he’s known for things in golf that aren’t related to YouTube so they’re not it’s not you know I wouldn’t say this is YouTube golfers even with Paige in this grouping okay let’s move forward we have two new on announced Tom Brothers AKA Bubby and then Mason green mason green if you guys don’t know or don’t remember he’s a good get athlete I think he was a Collegiate guy for a little while and dra either is still in at UCLA I assume this would mean he’s graduating this year so likely maybe going to try to pursue Pro Golf I mean if you just ask me this is just a good-look guy this is just good-looking guy makes a lot of sense why team good good wants to have you know they like having good-looking guys on the roster what can I say especially when they Bucky hats anyway final one we have announced Matt sharf and Jack sock I had to Google who Jack shock sock was tennis player turned pickle baller which is kind of interesting someone I guess they’ve probably connected with cuz I know they like to play pickle ball but but anyways Nate what’s the point point is that’s five groups announced 1 2 3 4 5 and there are no outside YouTubers involved except for Paige but again I don’t Paige is not who I’m talking about in this video anyone who know you you get it you get what I’m saying we didn’t have Grant and Garrett off the rip we didn’t have Brian Bros we didn’t have Michael Morris we didn’t have Rick Shields like Bob the sports so why and that’s really the million-dollar question why why well I reached out to a couple different creators this morning to see even if they’d been invited because that was my first question was like is good good doing this intentionally or are creators just choosing not 10 is good good just being like we’re not going to invite any YouTube golfers cuz we already did this we’re going to go down a different path or is good has good get invited YouTube golfers and they’re just not able willing wanting to attend and so that’s just why they’re not coming so the the first thing I will say is I don’t know everyone I don’t know the story with like everyone if they’re coming if they’re not whatever but I’ve talked to a good amount of large YouTubers who I have connections with and relationships with and I’ve essentially had confirmation that people have been invited this is not a lack of invite people have been invited good good has invited people this is not good good being like we don’t want you here people have been invited and for the most part the responses I’ve gotten from individuals as to why they’re not going is all just scheduling conflicts it’s all just we have this going on we have this this going on we have this going on we have this going on so I think probably on some level it is a mix of yes of course they do have scheduling conflicts but like if this was like hey come play at Augusta National and you can make content about it like they’d probably move those scheduling like we talked about this with Rick last time when Rick was like I have scheduling conflicts it’s like well if this was you know another invite to go play Augusta Rick would probably move whatever he had that was conflicting his schedule so he could go play G National like it’s a priority and that’s fine but this is something that I think you know is an event that all the creators went to the first time because it was kind of groundbreaking it was like the first of its kind but I mean following that event there was a lot of feedback from not only creators but like audience members and whatever that you know it was just due to the nature of it being a live broadcast and whatever it was like PGA Tour the top people people at the top were getting the air time and wasn’t even necessarily people at top cuz I’m pretty sure the grouping that won they didn’t really know they were going to win so they didn’t get a lot of their shot shown at the beginning it was kind of like some select Marquee groups and so the benefit from the exposure standpoint for the creators maybe they didn’t really feel like was there then obviously you’re traveling you know you’re staying in this place you’re you’re is it’s a large time commitment yes you can create content but kind of just like the Myrtle Beach thing it’s like you know you’re you’re going to be limited I know if I remember correctly good good was holding kind of a day on the course where creators who came could shoot their own content if they wanted to do like matches with each other other or whatever but I don’t know I feel like YouTube golf’s in this interesting place now where it’s like creators aren’t really the top dogs aren’t really incentivized to do something by just being able to collaborate with each other because all the top creators have already collabed with each other like 40 times and it’s kind of gotten stale on some level I don’t know how you guys feel about it but like I get way more woken up and excited to see Wesley and OE playing or Grant and that 15-year-old that we had never heard about who’s like the next like Scotty sheffler them play then I do to see like Grant and like Bob the sports play like I’ve seen Grant and Bob the sports play I like both those guys but we’ve seen it before so just telling those guys hey you can come and you know you have an opportunity to collab it’s like well they already get that so anyway what I’m trying to paint the picture of here is I don’t I guess the creators just aren’t seeing the incentive I guess behind it cuz again it’s like I get it schedule and conflicts I get it you guys already have things planned out this was like the Rick Shields thing but once again if this was something you were like holy crap like I have to be there then you build your schedule around it so it’s just interesting man we’ve talked about this before like good Goods doing all the right things they’re putting together these high quality events like they definitely learned a lot from the last one and they’re going to try to improve this one and make this one better and you know they’re they’re they’re stepping out and doing something different and it’s something that we’ve all claimed we’ve wanted for a long time but it’s tough when it’s like at the end of the day you can do all the right things like I think good it is for the most part but it’s still up to the creators to want to show up and this is something I try to tell people all the time you would be absolutely mind blown how many people have come to me over the year years I’ve been doing this whatever and being like hey we want to start like a YouTube Golf League like we have this idea like literally multiple multiple multiple people organizations businesses and it’s just always the end of the day is I’m just like how how do you think you’re going to get these creators to participate like that is that is always going to be the bottleneck that is always going to be the thing you’re going to struggle with the most cuz I guarantee you whatever you think an incentive is for them is just not an incentive like unless you’re just going to give them a million dollars cash like there’s very little that’s going to move the needle enough for them incentive wise to make them want to change what they’re currently doing all creators are chasing the best content possible hopefully and you know that’s that’s just got to be there nor star the bigger next bigger better thing so this kind of stuff is tough like as much as we want to see you know the best versus best on YouTube in these big tournaments like you know we run into broadcasting issues people like to watch YouTube videos people don’t watch YouTube we’ve learned to for you know broadcast style content all the time so you struggle with how to blend those two things and then you also just have again creative participation and willing so I don’t know I will ALS like I said at the beginning caveat like we could just have some big last minute announcements like I sort of think that maybe they an outed Grant and Garrett last time like rated the beginning but maybe they’re saving maybe they’re saving like a big pairing that’s coming at the end but I don’t know it’s going to be interesting Rick did say that I think he was going to try to attend this one cuz he couldn’t make the last one so maybe he would be like a big last minute well he would be a big last minute like he’s coming guys from Bob the sports that’d be a big last minute they’re coming I don’t know if either of those two if they’re coming or not but you know anyway so that’s the update guys uh I’ll keep you posted as we see these things come out as we see the tea time or not tea times but pairings continue to be released and yeah I mean at the end of the day like it’s not a good or bad thing it’s just like a different different thing I’ve talked about it before I like if they’re going down maybe a rout of having whether it be by choice or not having these like you like YouTube golf adjacent or golf adjacent people who can bring in kind of different audiences to YouTube golf I think that’s a a net positive for good good and for YouTube golf but I would love to see like obviously like Rick Shields or something like that there but I don’t know how we’re going to com me your thoughts down below see you next one
