night off in the association Conference Finals action begins on this Tuesday in Boston between the Celtics and the Pacers a full-blown breakdown and preview of that series and game one tonight inside TD Garden with some major league baseball thoughts in this third and final hour as well yeah some really good baseball thoughts coming up here a lot of guys I picked out for some RBI chances which means we should be seeing some runs some weather conditions to keep an eye on in the windy city of Chicago winds blowing out at close to 20 miles an hour so something to keep an eye on but that’s also Assad on the mound today can he keep the ball in the yard so some good things to talk about which does incl the NBA action back on the court tonight do we see blowouts do we not can we cash in on some tickets we’ll cover that now we’re number three for sure 10 and a half is the total tonight inside the friendly confines because of where the win is in Chicago I believe it’s a Tuesday I believe it’s Donnie 2 to four is actually the winning sele election all Miss fade the public poll at about 51 12% 512 two to four wins for Indiana was Rick horos signing in what was that behind the somebody’s somebody’s moving the pole around behind the scenes man what’s going on here jeez oh man we’re having fun to start this third out so two to four games though DRS winning the vote we do not think it’s going to be a sweep that was in last by far about 7% gentleman Sweep with the Pacers winning one game and Boston Victorious about 41% 51 a half for the Pacers to get at least two and I think two would probably be where most of that vote is focused not Indiana forcing seven games or even winning the Eastern Conference now I appreciate the poll I do but it is set up incorrectly here behind the scen zero should be there absolutely one should be there but the or one to two should be there the fact that it’s two to which leaves you like some teams might think Indiana could win this some people think they won’t even compete in it like two to four is way too wide of a margin here and no doubt that that’s actually leading because you get two three and four we don’t even know the opinions four means that it’s a major upset at this point so it’s a wild wonky scene but I voted for one at 41% but there’s way too much leeway out here between two to four because what does that mean if you win two you got blown out if you win four it’s a major upset what is it here what are we voting right so so you know how I said I love the phrasing I said that ironically and tongue and cheek because it’s crazy and then one of the things that’s also great Twitter polls don’t give you many options but you can have at least four options so you could ask this question even with another option if you wanted the Pacers to do it three to four would be seven games or the Pacers pulling off a huge upset two I would be interested how many votes for one win for Indiana versus two or you could have done it rather simply how many games does the Eastern Conference Finals go four five six or seven and there you go you have every option available yeah exactly and also by the way I’m looking at the hashtags in there boom baby is the Pacers like who even made that up like where did that come from at this point I don’t even know how that like you one thing like you could you should like the inia shouldn’t be the pacer it should be like an am you know the AMC Pacer one of my favorite cars out there which I routinely repost but the fact that boom baby is in there as the Pacers who ever thought actually you probably don’t even need to study just ingrain knowledge in your mind yes yesterday Craig the Yankees were the hottest team in major league baseball seven consecutive wins but that win streak was snapped last night as they were looking for eight straight because of an uncharacteristic performance out of Kay Holmes today once again up in the Bron it’s the Yankees and the Mariners does a new streak begin as the Yanks are a minus 162 favorite at home yeah I mean look it’s very possible I I will say that on the flip side I do guys wonder what this does for Seattle I know we don’t talk about them a lot here but I kind of lumped Seattle and Toronto in the same category to start the season which was if all went right it could be a postseason team and maybe go deep and if all went wrong you could be on the flip side of that now all has gone wrong for Toronto they were you know one of those teams maybe middling around the wild card last year you thought maybe they had a chance I think that’s done Seattle because of the pitching they have and you wonder what a win last night beating the Yankees what that can do for the psyche of a team can that propel them a little bit because that division is going to be formidable Houston as we’ll talk about uh seemingly is turning it around Texas we know is going to be there in the end they’re going to get some guys back from injury too so I guess what I would say is I’m more curious to see where the Mariners head uh right now because the Yankees are you know obviously playing good baseball through the first two months of the Season yeah just to bring up the Houston Astros quickly with the Craig the one thing that nobody’s running away with the West which keeps the Houston Astros right in the mix but that was a big win by the Mariners and also the Texas Rangers due to tangle with the Philadelphia Phillies we’ll see where they wind up but if we are taking a look at the Yankees themselves Aaron judge heating up same thing as the weather another two base hits yesterday hitting over 270 and since May 5th how about this a 438 average seven home runs and 13 RBI the big man is back Craig in the middle of that lineup yeah and on FanDuel if you want to bet to you know to win the MVP you got to take a Yankee pretty much at this point because both stto and judge are right there at the top and so look there’s narratives that sometimes these guys split the vote and then somebody else will win and so maybe you should take a Wht or Henderson or someone else uh but no I I I think look the season that that judge has had has predominantly been the last what three weeks Donnie and the season that stto has had has been from day one getting in the Yankees uniform so my estimation would be if Soto continues to do this that he would win the award I I guess you would leave a light on uh for wit because of the Season he’s having it’s going to be fantastic tougher Market but look if Houston does come all the way back to win the division or something insane like that guys Kyle Tucker has 15 home runs yeah I mean is this the most understated player right now in baseball potentially so who’s going to be do a huge contract coming up too I don’t know how Houston’s going to handle this thing uh so I I think the odds are fair first Five Guys my estimation would be one of those five probably wins the MVP rather competitive too just about five bucks separating the top five prices and players to win the Alm M VP Kyle Tucker at late RBI yesterday as Houston tried to Rally but an implosion in the Bronx an implosion in htown as well a seven run fifth inning for the Angels over Houston yesterday including three home runs the Astros lost as a greater than $2 favorite but that’s where Houston with Christian Javier finds themselves once again today on this Tuesday Craig against the Halos do you expect a Houston bounceback today against the angels yeah I I generally don’t lay the run and a half with a home team I like to do that with the road team to ensure that extra at bat so probably more of a staya away or pair Houston with another team today Ben you and I have talked about the Angels a ton uh they’re going to lose either 100 or close to a 100 games and every once in a while they’re gonna win a game I mean that’s what baseball is but naturally what you got to see is this Houston Bullpen get itself right I know hater little bit better but he’s had a tough season you know bullpens are so hard to figure guys every year you know the end of the season you look back at the postseason teams and you’re like you look at Philly or somebody say wow that’s the reason why they won but then the next year I mean remember how bad Philadelphia’s Bullpen was for several years too from year to year you just don’t know Houston is having that trouble this year they got to get that fixed if they want to go far so Craig when you looked at Houston what have you seen from the Astros in the last week or so they’ve won eight or nine of their last 12 games what have you seen out of Houston that maybe gives you some confidence that the Astros are starting to find it yeah look I I I think their pitching isn’t going to be as good as it was in the past there’s no Cole there’s no grany verander is not the same framber Valdez is not the same or Kitty is hurt Garcia is hurt I mean there’s a lot of that going on they got the best pitcher was suspended for using some stuff so so for me guys it is it has got to be slug in their way like Texas did last year Alex bregman finally has seemed to figure it out and he’s a free agent at the end of the season I’m a big fan of that player if he continues to hit along with Altuve and Tucker and Alvarez it’s formidable a lot more coming your way Major League Baseball and saying it’s GNA get that high today no because the pitchers are actually very good today Charlie Morton’s on the mound he’s been great against right-handed pitching all season long but he does struggle a little bit with left-handed bats which is why we bring up Mike talkman and Cody Bellinger on that list now here’s the issue if there is anyone today wind we usually like to blow and typically blows at Wrigley it’s straight in or straight out in center field today it’s actually blowing up to left field which means you probably want that right-handed batter to sort of pull that baseball up in the air get in that jet stream not to say lefties can’t do that but right-handed batter is probably a little bit more advantageous SE Suzuki batting second the lineup for the Cubs 267 ISO Power number against right-handed pitching this season I should I say over the last 30 days has been hitting very well but as I just told you Mort susceptible to lefties not to righties Let’s flip it over to the other side for the Atlanta bats who finally picked up a victory yesterday in the double header against San die go Assad’s going to be on the M he has been tremendous B against both Lefty and righty batters take a look at the last 30 days an 040 ISO and a weighted on base percentage of 228 which is absolutely incredible now granted both of these pitchers coming in with some decent pedigree these lineups really should be able to get after them but it’s one of those where boy I just wish it was more tomato cans on the mound as opposed to really good pitching today it’ll be interesting to see where it goes RBI shots as I told you more like coming from the Cub side of those first four guys in the lineup but I’m not in love with this game I just want to watch this because it might have be five to2 Ben at the end of three Innings like man you really should have taken that over Dinger Tuesday on this Tuesday on FanDuel sports book as well inter league Intrigue almost the World Series matchup from a year ago but the Phillies falling short in the NLCS to the Arizona Diamondbacks the reigning World Series champs the Rangers a Soo start quite literally and even 500 to begin this year a day off for the Phils yesterday now back at home starting off a new series at the bank this week Ranger Suarez on the bump for Philadelphia they’re booked as a heavy minus 172 home moneyline favorite with a total of eight and a half DRS you know this well the Phillies have not lost a series since early April the second of their year against Cincinnati will that Trend continue into the midweek set against Texas it probably will continue because the Phillies just keep on sending out good pitcher after good pitch here and they’re at home and finally a day of rest after playing such a long streak of back-to-back gam so let’s take a look at this one which is kind of a shame we just talked about the game in Wrigley winds blowing out Optimum conditions but two good pitchers on the mound and not great matchups if you’re just looking from pitcher to hitter we’re getting that same type of thing today Ben in Philadelphia 80 degrees at first pitch with nine M hour winds blowing out to right field this should be perfect because that Phil Le’s lineup loves to absolutely Hammer the baseball at home we take a look at John greay a right-handed pitcher look at his last 30 days been 127 batters he’s faced and 074 ISO and a 251 weighted on base percentage that stinks because why we would have loved to picked on some Philadelphia Phillies bats same thing vice versa on that Rangers lineup that hasn’t done all that well against left-handed pitching maybe going up against the best pitcher in baseball and Ranger Suarez who is damn near being unhitable for the season and the past 30 days it’s a shame to waste this environment in that ballpark to get wind blowing on 80 80 80 uh excuse me 80 degrees in 8 mon hour winds blowing out that’s a shame right here so I am predicting an under but you know I’m not betting that this game could pop off but it’s a shame that these two pitches really match up well eight and a half is that total the Phils have won 11 of their last 13 series they have not lost in 13 consecutive series they have split a couple of four game sets now we go to St Louis yesterday it was a gray day sunny gray and the Cards win as a home moneyline favorite 6 to3 over Baltimore today it’s the other birds the O’s as a road favorite under the arch yeah by the way L comes into this game struggling this year against left-handed batters 111 total in the season it’s a 180 ISO and a 359 weighted on base percentage if we just take a look at a snapshot of the past 30 days that’s actually in elevates to a 216 ISO and a 412 weighted on base percentage so look no further than the first part of that lineup Henderson and Rutman two really good shots at home runs today and if we take a look at the temperatures here boys 84 degrees with 17 you guys excited to break down these games and what we saw last night I tell you as a Calgary fan not the outcome I wanted no certainly not but a Canadian team still in the hunt for the cup does that mean anything to Joe Madden we will discuss in just a moment but it was the final two Canadian teams in the National Hockey League postseason facing off last night in a winner take all game seven and Joe as the story has been in this series decided by simp simply one goal Edmonton wins in Vancouver 3-2 over the Canucks but it was anything but easy three goals in the third for the Oilers the Canuck scored twice in the final 9 Minutes of Regulation and then it was a mad Fury to to the very end how will you look back on this seven game set between these two Canadian foes well firstly I want to say the Vancouver conects played an incredible season and series here versus the Edmonton Oilers but it really came down to the fact that Edmonton came out so strong and so committed to playing that defense that’s something that Edmonton hasn’t been known for they haven’t had that strength and they did give Stuart Skinner that support in net they also did phenomenally strong on the kill and that was what ultimately got them the win in this game they were able to convert on the power play as well they went one for two on the power play and they killed off a four-minute penalty out there Vancouver was high sticked Elias pson got the high stick out there and they went on that power play for four minutes they weren’t able to get anything done you guys they weren’t even able to record a shot on goal the defense for Edmonton getting those block shots stepping in front of the net of Stewart Skinner was pivotal for them to be able to take that series if Edmund had had just relied on their team offensively in that one like we saw in the one game of the series where Conor McDavid and Leon dry sideo both got six points a piece they wouldn’t have got past Vancouver but because they committed to that defense play they’re sitting here and they’re going to move on to take on the Dallas Stars I have to tip my Hat to Edmonton not the way I wanted to see it but it is great to see Canadian team making it into the Conference Finals here I’ll tell you what’s interesting about this too I sort of equated it sometimes to other sports show at the NBA where you can get a game seven and have a guy like Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota timberwol not play all that well I’m not saying Conor McDavid didn’t play well but you also take a look at Leon drve CLE only one point combined between both of those players and they won on the road in a game number if we just take a quick look at Edmonton moving forward here is there a lot of support for Edmonton do you think they are the best team in the Western Conference and how that winds up I really don’t think they’re the best team because you look at the Dallas Stars and you look at their depth this is something I’ve always questioned for the edmenton Oilers and they did bench actually Corey Perry for the last two games he wasn’t out there it’s not official that it was Bench but in my opinion it was we did get that secondary scoring in that last game and in the game before which is something Edmonton hasn’t been been able to do in you know the first round and the first couple of the series we were getting the main impact here from Conor McDavid and Leon Dr sideo so we’re seeing a little bit more of their depth out there we’re seeing those back checks and for checks out of that Top Line so they need to continue to play that way because the Dallas Stars their depth is so Elite they have scored uh bullies or people who are able to score across the board out there for Dallas and they have the stronger golender so there’s going to be with them and Edmonton if Edmonton doesn’t play that defensive battle Dallas is going to pick apart Stuart Skinner six of the seven games between the Oilers and the Canucks decided by just a single goal and the oddsmakers expect more competition in the Western Conference Finals Dallas is the favorite at minus 120 in that series outright price as you saw and Joe Panthers and the New York Rangers no surprise here for the New York Rangers a second consecutive series here Joe they are The Underdogs to win this series Florida currently at the fu Sportsbook now priced live at a minus 146 price to win the series and a game total of over or under 5 and a half games do we agree that the Panthers should be favored or are the Rangers getting disrespected here Joe he you know what the Rangers have been disrespected in every single matchup so far we even look at them versus the washing capitals I don’t think they were big enough favorites in those matchups either and versus the Carolina Hurricanes they were the underdog in all of those games except for one I think they are getting disrespected in this match up because their goal tending is stronger I do believe than the Florida Panthers you look at both of these teams though this isn’t going to be an easy series for either of them both teams have the depth both teams have the elite uh goendale teams of the New York Rangers and this team even on the kill can score with four um short-handed goals so far in the playoff series so the Rangers I do think they’re getting disrespected I do think they can take this series but it’s not going to be an easy one because we look at the Florida Panthers and the depth of this team is Elite we got Sam rart Matthew kot we’ve got Playmakers across the board and story for Boston throughout this postseason run has been Domin when they have won games and what the odds makers expect entering a game Boston has been at least a seven and a half Point favorite in all 10 of their playoff contests tonight it’s 102 double digits in favor of the Seas with a total at 221 and a half what do the numbers the RS as we see them pregame tell you about what we can expect for the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals I think we get points and also it’s telling you that this is supposed to be an easy Celtics victory now also in the past game one in the Celtics building in round number one game one in the Celtics building in round number two have been nice victories for the Boston Celtics it’s game number two Ben that maybe we should be watching at but this is always a tricky environment because we know the Boston Celtics will be rested and ready but what are we actually getting out of the Pacers two things can happen in this environment which is always tough to work and these aren’t X’s and O’s but we don’t know officially how the Pacers are going to come out in this game are they getting that game seven jump excited got that Victory momentum is on their side as they go in and try to upset the Celtics in round number one or is it w man that was a nice little comeback to finally beat the Knicks in an exciting energized environment in Madison Square Garden and now we got to stay on the road here and take on the Boston Celtics because that could mean a 15 to 20 point blowout or the Pacers get that bump that’s why I’m staying away here from the side itself but the one thing I do know the Pacers can score they don’t play any defense the Celtics can score we’ll see what their defense has but as you pointed out earlier in the show that 115 I guess around that price point here of the team total for the Celtics that’s really what I like the best year but also I do think the Pacers will be able to score and I like the over 221 here and also gets back to the point Ben I make so many times overs for me earlier in series unders as the series gets underway for sure we often see the highest total na Series in the opening game and then the market resets itself Night by Night throughout a playoff series 221 and a hook the highest number we have seen for Indiana since the second game of their Series against Milwaukee one of the higher numbers for Boston in this postseason now I agree with the idea of momentum carrying over from just two days ago inside Madison Square Garden not a far trip for Indiana from New York to Boston but they remain on the road I think that offense is there not sure what it means for the side we have seen Indiana go over in eight of their 13 playoff games Boston over in four of the six inside TD Garden where the Celtics have been booked as at least a 13-point home favorite in all six of the playoff games in Beantown now Indiana on the road not great in fact that was one of the stories of the series against the New York Knicks a round ago the first team to win on the road was in game seven when the Pacers were victorious in MSG Indiana just two and5 straight up away from Indianapolis throughout this postseason three and four against the spread booked as a dog in five of the seven Road games they played again for Boston 8-2 straight up in this playoff run seven of the eight victories by at least 13 points six of those eight they have covered the number and they have been booked as a favorite in as of at least a seven and a half Point number in all 10 games if you were going to highlight Don you think we see some points out of the Celtics 115 and a hook is their team total who does the scoring for Boston to push us over that number I really think Tatum’s going to certainly could change shots but he’s not going to play now Horford is a good Defender but certainly not a shot blocker I think seak is a guy that you can lean on if we looking at secondary options T.J mcconell is always fun Off the Bench he’s going to play 20 plus minutes and probably shoot close to 10 times in a game you see his assist prop there on that uh on that graphic at four and a half I think he gets five assists wide because I think we’re going to get a lot of scoring tonight from both sides but if you’re trying to take a look at one of those B players outside of like a seak or a halberton or a Turner I take a look at ni Smith last three games here 28 minutes 31 minutes and 28 minutes so you know he’s going to get close to 30 minutes but also you hear me talk about this so many times Ben ride the hot hand no better performance in game number seven from an efficiency standpoint than n Smith 19 points eight of eight from the from the floor which included two of two from three-point land under those 28 minutes you take a look at the FanDuel sports book today for n Smith nine and a half points is his prop I think he can get the double digits here so if you’re looking for somebody outside of those top guys ni Smith for me tonight for Indie I almost under tyres halberton 182 points prop I think j y made a great point about the matchups that we are going to see develop in this series and Drew holiday the best defender for Boston probably starting off on tyres halberton who has been slow to start in these Series so far throughout both to reach this point of
