e e hello and welcome to the raw preview Live on YouTube We Are The dadly Boys of what culture I’m Adam wilborne joined by Michael Michael srick here’s a look at to tonight’s episode I said I was going to screw up of Monday Night Raw it’s hard having a kid get enough sleep um but before we get into it if you’re a fan of this sort of thing make sure you subscribe to what cult wrestling on Apple who’s joining us live on YouTube as I said we will get to your questions in due course but it’s the go home show ahead of King and Queen of the Ring tonight I don’t mind asking the big questions can the FED bounce back that’s what I want to know after a difficult Smackdown can the King of the Ring I found it easy the tournament of the year can it recover the form it had before Friday night’s disaster that’s what I want to know this Gunther J Uso match does Gunther work a miracle or does J Uso drag gun through into the sewer with the rest of his singles opponents I cannot wait to see great M last time uh I think it was overrated but uh I think it was one of Gunther’s week of matches he hasn’t I don’t care I don’t care one bit but I don’t think it was one of his stronger matches um so I think the pressure is on a little bit with gun here to have that like middle of the IC run shamess adjacent magic with J Uso can can he do it that’s the I think he’ll win but more importantly the test of like how good this match can be that I I’m glued like I cannot wait to see how this turns out um length that’s why you’ve got to treat WWE to do this I was I dead dead put WWE over at the expense of aw’s TV booking at some point last week I think whenever and he got to keep WWE at arms length at all times I’m sorry because I was talking about how kind of bold it was to have Jay Uso who’s incredibly over to the vast majority of WWE fans who are actually in the buildings and parting money with their cash vastly more over right now than Ilia dragonov there was that weird fake feror this bad faith madeup thing about how dragov shouldn’t have done the job and I said it’s good that a WWE booed this TV match because every now and then on TV you need something unpredictable and dare I say it bold and that weekend way it felt like you know what WWE deserves credit for just going out there clean finish someone lost someone Advanced whatever then what happens on Smackdown which does have a point because it informs my cynicism which I should never have let go of ahead of Monday Night Raw tonight of well there’s always another option you can either and WWE and aw went to these extremes across the weekend you can either just do well this guy’s goingon to lose so why we watching it or Well’s going to do a really cowardly terrible finish that makes one or both of the wrestlers involved in the singles wrestling match look like morons La Knight succumb to a distraction finish GH terrible looks like an idiot his stock isn’t where it was last year this sort of finish will not help and then Nia Jax looks like an idiot for introducing a weapon and missing because she would have got herself disqualified or she should have got herself disqualified on Smackdown and then Jade car looks like an idiot for using the weapon and just losing even if she was you know um what’s the word I’m looking for here felt like she was 14 years provoked that’s the word cowardly booking on one channel just predictable booking on the other I did not not have a good time with the grabs uh this weekend and unfortunately this tains my anticipation I wouldn’t have had much anyway ahead of Jay Uso versus Gunther because now I’m thinking bad Finish class on bad finish clock s is blaring in my heed I like that you so you’ve had the go W I’ll give you a go and then you feel let down by it that’s the reverse of that a guys are feelings back I should have learned this lesson decades ago every now and then I forget and I just get oh other can just do crap finishes sorry WWE I expected more and more fool me now bars higher like expectations are rising like the tide of the business like it’s if anything it’s getting a little bit flat isn’t it turn out there’s a WWE boom everything Sur they like it they like it that way historically actually we still talking about J yeah who do you think wins well bad finish or otherwise I am going to watch usually like with a lot of pro wrestling on TV these days should be a monthly product in my opinion that’s where I’ve shifted I’ll just watch it like Bley eyed if my eyes are open somewhat like pistol in the snow I watch it like a rodent it’s early hours of the morning like that and then punk red the tiny bit to my eyes that are open I glazed over because I know who’s going to win and quite frankly the matches are better on pay-per-view and I’m haven’t been given enough to emotionally invest in this match on TV roden’s eyes glazed over barely awake this one I’ll be like they’re a little bit more open yeah because I don’t know who’s going to win and there’s a you know a business case for either result either Gunther can be the King of the Ring ultimately um win the tournament outright and it reinforces this dude still awesome he’s a future world heavyweight champion it’s inevitable it’s just a case of when not if or they could go full ball with this new bloodline and king of tamatanga right Dad Dr dad has got that royalty and that’s a nice touch the problem with that is the new bloodline stink and I want to talk about that briefly because this is going to be a three star match with probably a bad finish there that goes my preview this new bloodline is uh rapidly approaching joke territory for me the idea and it got Meed to death because tamatanga sounded like an [ __ ] doing his H well do you want to do an impression we did it on their Smackdown review as well like I just described it as um Joe pesi in Home Alone not being able to swear [Music] yes the idea and it is laughable to me is that tamat Tonga is meant to be this unhinged Aura of violence is imminent be scared he’s going to get his M to distract you that is how unhinged this guy is I think you are are meant to receive this new bloodline in much the same way as you would have received Terry Funk Prime as a heel yeah Mick Foley you don’t know what you’re getting like you don’t what you’re dealing with when he’s on the loose you’re meant to think these guys are scary abroad he stiffed on a payout yeah like you’re meant to fear these people you’re meant to worry about that which they’re capable they’re they’re crap and they’re not intense and they’re not scary and it’s comedic and that’s your big soer on Smackdown really not into it at all I thought this week was terrible I backed it for the most part really like the developments most important thing was even if you don’t feel it it wasn’t like the booking wasn’t doing a good job of obscuring that these can kind of be goons and Geeks and then in one week I just saw so much of it in one go the backstage segment was cringe worthy just found the whole thing embarrassing not just the Tonga noise the the interaction between solo and Paul Heyman I thought was really weak as well Paul Heyman is really abusing his scared of Roman Reigns face badly with this new bloodline I don’t even mind the story and I think the fans I think the story is we Roman chance there every week solo Lon we assume the they are opening the door for all performance this like the really cool baby face pop that people anticipating for Roman for the reunification of the Usos for Usos there’s so many versions of these pops it’s like all this cool stuff again one after another after another you’ve seen the way that Triple H books to suggest that you’re going to get them like Bit by Bit by Bit there’s loads of cool weeks of Stories the story is not bad establish them but this for me was a major misfire of a week that I was 100% don’t disagree with anything you said about La night as well like uh it’s all there on the smackdown preview any you want to listen to it like a really terrible week all the way around for them um especially because the tamat Tonga deal was well if you’re going to do smoke and mirrors every time like the backlash match we might have something here like don’t do a god tag match that’ll that’ll immediately reveal the reality of these wrestlers the Jacob Fatu debut already feels like it’s got more pressure on it like those happening well those that know know that if and when he comes in he’s going to kick ass from the off the whole story that went round around solo seoa having to be primed in such a way as if so that fans don’t go out of the way you as soon as they they going to anyway and they’re going to anyway yeah um but this was like the weirdest pivot this week for them to become I like Bor Line Comedy goon heel stable and it kind of inadvertently they I thought it was a really nice detail at the end of this Smackdown but it wasn’t it isn’t worth it if you don’t keep them violent Randy Orton basically was saying I’m not afraid of this bloodline as if to imply you’re nothing compared to Roman and The Usos those were guys that you had to worry about these are not you are not those people so now I guess what he’s doing is daring them and there’s clearly multimatch coming down the line probably featuring La Knight um and a few others you were suggesting for like a four on four or five on five at some point that is your opportunity to put them across as an actual threat but you have to be really careful in the in room that you don’t reduce them to Comedy running buddies of tamama or Solo or whatever inadvertently they want you to take them seriously impossible really really bad week for them I think to to fold it back to the raw preview I think there is a chance they run in tonight cu the but there’s a draft sadly sadly there’s a you know where that’s coming from s the door being left open for the bloodline to walk right through right Jimmy was there to interfere on gun’s behalf last time we already know that J Uso can come this close to beating Gunter and just can’t get it done so I think they might lay that on quite thick and say well Jimmy we know Jimmy’s not around j’s got nothing nothing to worry about this time like Ludi Kaiser has been taken care of or whatever and the bloodline could interfere to allow Gunther through and then you tell the story in the background it’s not about just screwing Jimmy for screwing Jimmy’s sake they think they they doubt themselves against him and I think that might be like what they’re trying to do with having them as like like Randy Orton being able to stand them off it’s like what is the threat of this bloodline like I think at the moment Tonga makes mad noises I think they’re trying to tell the story but they got that all wrong this week for me it’s one of those the opposite of the problem I usually have with wrestling I can never be happy I don’t mind the story yeah in fact I think it could be quite good this bloodline Civil War deal the the performances are so bad like wretched yeah I didn’t I didn’t like the Tonga no well I did it funny but uh I I did argue that I’m going to let it play out on this week’s Smackdown because I think Gunther wins tonight I think you’re getting Gunther Randy Orton uh King of the Ring final uh in Saudi love that by the way that’s a good that’s a final that’s a match we booked for the IC title for a period at WrestleMania yeah if you’re not getting Brock the only way that people will buy gun B you be losing his an RKO out of nowhere by the way Sports Wass worked yeah um correct it does but I think I think uh yeah so I think Gunther wins tonight Randy Orton and they they’ve established as throughout this tournament Tonga only wins his matches not for me I won’t be watching will be Tong has interference in every single one of his matches think of big Keith in the office there that’s um Angelo Dawkins lost because they Simone spiked uh TZ on the outside La Knight was distracted by that I think they’re going to try and run it again in the semi-finals and this is where Kevin Owens La Knight people they’ve wronged in the past maybe even the street profits get involved to draft cost tamatanga they’re all in SmackDown yeah they’re all Smackdown all Smackdown um cost T not tonight next this is so you’re talking about as well um and uh and then Randy ought in advance as a result of it and you can set up some multi man match maybe for clash at the castle or something which they have to win yeah that might be where you debut Jacob Fatu arguably um in the Queen of the Ring semi-final it is lra valky versus EO Sky uh with the Spectre of damage control and obviously Becky Lynch ly’s mate potentially getting involved we assumed off the back of some uh decent Eagle eyed reporting that it was going to be L valky versus tiffan Str um in the final that’s not the case Nia is going to be the queen but who’s going to lose to her in Saudi so who wins this match still L yeah yeah um yeah the the Tiffany Stratton thing all speculation feels like a punishment and they’ve gone with the next best thing and like n Jax is a you want to slot heal in that spot she gets she’ll my God probably beat Bianca B because this injured KNE yes she’s Adam willne’s favorite wrestler on and they’ve already made the render of L valkiria in a Saudi Arabia gear and didn’t free o Sky yeah so it feel and like look all that aside cuz it did feel like accidentally revealed that this SL valkia push has gone better than we probably all SL like sloppy photo shop good nice like bird persons had a good run on Raw who saw that coming like like they’ve had a tied to Becky Lynch as a way to get a little bit of the rub from a star by mentioning that she’s beaten her in the past she’s just like fans back winners we’ve always said this stars are ready for the big time she’s arrived looking and feeling like a winner nice brogress trying to do my bit on the camera the the office bit Jim look this [ __ ] got to work with all time like perception dog over perceptions reality and hard dog more like all get to it uh I reckon obviously Li of alier relatively new to the main roster having been in and around WWE fans so many nice ones in Philadelphia take me back they do what’s wrong with the ones here that’s him you just talking all the time about Smackdown how great it is it’s crap affecting the Integrity of this podcast and the good taste havs on it um they tend to go right impresses yeah it’s a it’s a that’s a difference between a WWE Fan and aw fans I’ve heard of you and I’ve watched you welcome to Dynamite’s class that you here the main Rossell was very much like who are you wait till the end and he might impress us draging off perfect example of that where’s my mafia guy valkiria will have a little while yet before she gets fully embraced and over there’s just no such thing as like oh God I love you you really impressed me in that match it just it will take a while it’s how WWE wrestlers historically get over but what I’m getting at is that we she was really impressive against Zoe stock the most you can hope for if you are a live your type at the stage in your WWE run it’s that you can hear a red piss and C for the first seven minutes of your match and then the last five it’s like I’m going to get up for this um this will not be a star making performance such a thing does not exist with the way that these NXT wrestlers are presented in WWE pretty half hardly quite frankly uh it’s a weird Triple H one um the best you can hope for is a hot 5 minutes and I think the talent is there for this to actually happen and I just love watching EOS Sky wrestle so great uh I think they’re going to try and kill two birds with one stone here although they’re not going to kill her because she’s going to win lra valky is going to win but there will also be damage control involvement SL Shenanigans which will be counteracted by Lara vy’s best mate Becky Lynch who’s going to get chinned by Liv Morgan because they’re also F wait a second you’ve promoted two big matches for the pay-per-view of using that M Dove tail him with a bird character as the crow flies watch it watch it that’s why you have to watch NXT am I right wilborne exactly because if you watched NXT you would see the Friendship form between uh Becky Lynch and Li valkiria and you get the funny moment of Li valkiria going look at me Becky am I doing great in the ring and Becky on commentary was just like yeah yeah doing great really cringe it was really awkward was it yeah you would have never imagined the whole plan was she’s going to beat her for the title when they were setting up that way would you yeah um the other match advertised for tonight is Sami Zayn versus Chad Gable ahead of uh the triple threat obviously for the uh IC title but my question to you guys is Will alfha Academy embrace the dark side why is 2012 Kane The Velvet Underground of pro wrestling it’s very true I no but they’re not going to obviously but that’s in service of a better thing we reckon s what the AL Academy creep oh oh oh my God here’s something when you podcast every week every day in fact Monday or Friday is that you realize how Bloody slow the WWE booking is when you realize how many times I get asked the same question and give the same answer yes it’s some point chard Gable is going to um align with the Creed Brothers what you reckon Rock s prz are going to do on the main roster though that’s the big question it’s like Christmas is it you know when like you’re a kid and you’re just really excited about your favorite present so you kind of keep bringing up in conversation every day like that’s w be all it’s awesome that man like honestly my youngest getting her a foot spot I got her a foot spot for the birthday for the month it was like still getting a foot Spar yeah I know that’s like we see how good you are like talking about the Creeds joining Gable or whatever cool WWE stories taking place that week it’s one of the few you know when you get like a physical object for your children you’re like batteries oh you have to get up from downstairs and do it YouTube’s right there YouTube’s always there the foot spot every single weekend morning boom let’s have a relax finally get your bloody money worth out of that freaking Foot Spa going to make an effort you know I told you my youngest is still plowing through those diary with Wimpy Kid books I just like keep those books coming cuz like’s like oh great reading like he’s finally found that like one series of books he loves also means quite time for us so uh just a bunch of Dubs keep at it dubs dubs dubs yeah how do you see this match going what match is this well it’s going to be awesome but I hate it yeah it’s it’s going to be what match is this Zan Gable Chad Gable versus Sami z a Tade a Tade but again finish this is it because back out of a good finish for a worse match like who cares about that triple who cares about who cares about Bronson Reed like a do I yeah I like him like a tsunami every now and again I went to the raw after WrestleMania and I know the answer zero he’s harsh that is Harsh I I mean I heard it he’s been pushed loads he’s had he’s never connected he has every Big Man match he has every secondary title match he does all these things I’m not saying there isn’t a role for Bronson R there the roster is not so stacked that you can’t yet find that just clicks like wrestling’s weird stuff just clicks he can be good and not click yeah and that’s probably where re is set at and as a third man in this for he’s got offline ah yeah he said about this I haven’t seen those tweets awward online like the just very gotten to wasn’t this match the thing that you were preserving by including Bronson Reed in it this singles match is kind of what you were able to save by having Bronson Reed in the middle and if he wasn’t looking like the most powerful of the of the three so that when Sami Zayn beats him Gable like Gable’s got Brunson beat with a suplex whatever and then Sami Zayn mops up and he T G’s like sh have been me like was it not in the preservation of this specific singles match that why hang on why talking about Bron is it Sami Zayn versus CH Gable tonight yeah and the triple threat existed to delay this didn’t it that’s all we thought why why we talking about Bronson re I’m confused cuz that’s happening at King of the Ring yeah so you got the threee King of the Ring but in the meantime you’ve got the single Watch which what this is it it’s I don’t get it Chad G was going to kick the crap out of Sami Zayn tonight and try and get the alfha academy to help him to weaken him ahead of the pay-per-view well own go I and I think that’s the whole point is tonight this is that’s that’s po booking that does he care about this he should I think it’s no booking he should care about this S I was thinking on own go of Le was thinking like because he’s an OG DX yeah I think maybe tonight’s the night that the AL Academy say we’re not doing this anymore he’s say you need to kill him and he then o is going to get upset and he’s going to slap him because they got such sympathy for o last week yeah that was one of the few good things about raw and then hang on and let’s not say things we don’t mean uh and then I so they’re not there at the pay-per-view and then Gable loses so he has to get the Creeds and then things he says all right off the back of that we’re having a meeting on Raw CU you not being there is probably the reason why I didn’t win because you could have stopped Sami Zayn from getting back in whatever it may be uh and it’s a swerve so he can kick him out of the group I love it we’re back stick with me you’ll do well speaking of embracing the do side though uh as we continue to all the time the final Testament they’re going have the questions they’re going have a Kofi questions now I’m talking about carrying cross they any questions about caring cross I don’t think so he did a video um a little while back then it was just after WrestleMania so he’s like he’s sitting in his dark room and H how did WrestleMania go we lost how did that other big match we had we lost and he’s just like recounting all these losses but he says let’s take a look at the clues and it’s like what happened to Drew McIntyre what happened to ro any wrestler he’s ever shared any screen time with he’s basically tied like their losses to at one time we brushed up against him that one time he saw my leather jacket from a distance and now look at him so he’s like claiming all of these scalps he just working his own bit lame I mean Kofi won’t turn heel will he well but you know what I think we’re going to be left asking that very question tonight after an interaction with a one Mr Cross [Music] final question about raw and then we’ll get to the the wonderful questions in the YouTube Community are we going to get Braun breaker just killing someone tonight feels like he’s going to snap any time because it keeps getting feels like there’s a a story incoming but I can’t work out what it is it’s not uh psco and you know what I realized was best for you was tag wrestling so here’s Baron Corbin cuz he went to SmackDown they would have had him on the quiet beond like the you know that non-drafted wrestler list that randomly exists on ww.com they at least had him there but it’s not going to be a wolf dogs thing as he found him a new tag partner does he think does he want to put him into the Tag Division like is he preserving him for for what for money I don’t know like I be good money in the bank challenge he would be but that’s like another sort of month yeah two months away whatever it is it’s feeling illogical and I’d like that I’d like the reveal this is the thing we review every week then sometimes there’s a a plot Point like oh yeah that makes total sense now I’d like it if whatever the point was tonight made sense of this last two three weeks cuz it it just doesn’t you’ve drafted like a top tier guy and in the KFA rules at the moment over on Smackdown yeah he’s lost to Randy Orton but he’s like Carmelo here is putting in pretty credible Shi in this new version of this character he’s a total [ __ ] like an obnoxious [ __ ] it doesn’t matter that he has these mid like two and a quarter star matches anymore because that’s his like his gimmick is that he believes himself to be the best he can buy it way more than this Brun breaker who’s like how was Postman pce and an office door stopping that Bron breaker I need a reason I need like something to make a bit more sense here yeah it’s around Christmas is good because then you can start lining up your baby faces you want to see challenge at WrestleMania and what potential bit of fantasy booking you get to do around Rumble season if gun’s got a title that’s an instant potential night one headliner if gun’s got a belt and the way to be fair the way Triple H has lined up baby faces the last couple years they’ll probably be a handful of them we talked a little bit about this on the the smackdown review I said Queen n should uh immediately challenge bayy because then you’ve got bayy versus n Jax in Glasgow good stuff United Kingdom sort of cheating but it gets there eventually yeah I’d just have Gunther winking in the ring and say I’m not going to call my shot clash of the castle or money in the bank or any of that we’re in Berlin in a few months time that’s where I want my title show whoever’s the champion who was that Matt Reign’s question that was kaz’s question what did Matt Reigns just say hello he just was upset choice Keith you want to fight for both belts great choice you want to drop one of those belts had no idea what was going on desperation like Cody’s motivation was proper ultimately like I know I know I said to finish the story turns out it’s the second story it’s a Twist I want to be a grand slam Champion I haven’t done that and this is a great way to do it uh and then this week seen as they had to come up with a reason why so like Logan Paul just tears a contract and all that Cod he’s like now I don’t like you because you’re not a wrestling fan did you even know that war games 92 took place here Yeah it’s you’re just a gatekeeper that’s why you want to beat Logan Paul it was better when Cody wanted to fight for a title like’s he’s good at that really good don’t they all say the same thing to Logan Paul ultimately and he literally said that I’ve heard that I’ve heard this before and then he kicks ass and then he kind of belongs more even if he was outclassing people in certain respects the most important respects from day one yes the first time his eyes CL like caught the hard camera at WrestleMania like oh okay you’re better than 40 guys yeah I did like it though because that made me think okay he’s probably holding that us title till SummerSlam which means he’s not unfortunately going to be missing money in the bank however Sami Zayn’s probably going to drop the IC title before money in the bank ifo facto money in the bank I love that he still shooting for that it’s so [ __ ] he’s just beating gun through at WrestleMania it’s like I think it’s time for the Money and good foreshadowing a device wrestling often messes up the FED storytelling has graduated past basic and trumped aw over the last 18 months in my opinion I agree but I think it’s less of a bad faith argument than it might once have been with those end the year review podcast last year I said it then I felt it I still believe it now like I think the last 18 months have been strong I think about them as people are winning people are losing it’s not killing careers um it’s not for everybody this is the thing as well the Triple H booking patterns are not for everybody does make you wait but the more Pops that have been revealed from some of these massive the the bloodline thing sums it up it really does the stuff that people are expecting to happen that almost definitely will because that’s how that’s Triple H is pretty predictable but you look forward to it nonetheless like these Pops that were speculating on are the reason to get this bloodline heal group hot and nobody thinks like that unless you for me nobody thinks like that unless you’ve had the last year plus of like good to like Great Moments similar to it I don’t know if I’ll feel as hot on the FED as I did for like the summer of 2023 on those RWS couldn’t wait for them to come around haven’t had that as much this year but it’s it is still good let see how long it lasts it’s funny you said it was going to be the season finale at Wrestlemania 40 but well I mean it wasn’t the evidence of SmackDown I don’t disagree broadly that WWE has done a fantastic job of energizing and growing its base nor I disagree that AWS left me personally quite flat I however would struggle to find a better example across both companies of the use of force shadowing then what the books wore to come out for the entrance at Revolution the business cards falling from the rafters no one was saying I definitely aarda then a few people started to make the connections and they used to fall shadowing with the idea that they would be the EVPs and oh you can’t go on like that you cannot behave like that we’re going to find you we’re going to find you we’re going to find you then Eddie Kingston being the guy who is in fact
