we’ll get back to the tournament golf soon just wait just be patient but it’s Sunday before the first practice round of my second ever PJ Tour event I still can’t believe this is actually happening and it’s a lot thanks to you guys y’all support y’all’s messages y’all’s encouragement over the years has meant the world to me and has gotten me to this point but I’m exhausted I’m tired I have a big week ahead of me got my golf club still on from uh and I’m probably going to take him up to sleep with me no I’m kidding where am I I’m not sure not sure where I’m going with this but tomorrow morning we’ll see you guys bright and early for the first practice round in the dunes goth and Beach Club let’s go well guys we have made it to Monday here at the Myrtle Beach Classic day one of my second PJ Tour event we have been pelan Pelini Pelican pel um no he’s one of my instructors who I work with the last few years he teaches the same philosophy as my dad Mike Bender so anyway so he’s been a big help of mine he wanted to come this week so I’m excited for that but today get a little range work in a little chipping and then we have a proam uh but he’s going to be kind of a watchful eyee and we’re going to kind of give you guys a look at kind of how he works with me in competition um see what’s up my golf swing he pretty good but again he knows more than I so Ben good luck yeah let’s have ourselves a week let’s go don’t no don’t count you’re not looking that he wasn’t looking at that one promise all right now we go say it’s like a 7 out of 10 we’ll see Ben thoughts thoughts comc yeah I mean it’s early in the week we just want to make sure that kind of his keys are there and kind of always been the same thing with George if his transition is smooth if his Tempo is good he tends to hit it really good and so that’s kind of what we’re keeping an eye on this week seeing if any situations come up that maybe uh that was a good one um if we can make sure that he’s ready just kind of for what the course has for him and uh kind of go from there I’ve told you guys you guys know like my key is tempo transition so like I’m decently loose enough so this one we’re going to get the full judgment here yeah you can you can usually see George’s swing we I you can see it by the way the club kind of pitches around we can see that club kind of look smooth both going back and at the top and in transition he usually hits it really really good so that’s kind of what we’re looking for this week yeah it was a little bit smoother I’d like to see it a little little bit cleaner at the top that yeah and you and for me I think um I’m going know that one uh not really I’m get work but I think for divot if I see like a shallower divot like that it’s a bigger I feel like it’s a big ta for me like when I start getting those big divots that’s you really fast up here and going into the dirt we we’ve worked a lot on getting them wider that wider K some of the curve off for him and like he said you can kind of see it in the divot as well for him so the the smoother he is the shallower the divot then he can just kind of step up and get after it let’s get close up with the divot here it’s a divot cam I see that’s just a I mean again it’s a little bigger div it but that’s still that’s n out of 10 but yeah again it’s all about for him a little bit smoother away this week and then a little less pitch to that shaft up in transition and then he can really get after it and go that was your best one yet time to go chip three parts to the bounce heel middle and toe mhm the more it you get heel side interaction the more the energy goes down into the ground Mr Newton said for every action there’s vle and opposite so there’s down energy produces up ball flight not a lot of spin that’s what those are yeah your hands like to get low so your tendency is to go more heel side on the bounce makes it harder to collect the club or collect the ball and you don’t spin it enough so you got to get a little bit more toe side interaction I almost feel like you’re wiping the number off a little bit more and that’s going to allow you to spin it more not toes Side by like where the club’s inter or where the ball’s interacting with the club but where the club is interacting with the ground that Mak sense sure so a little bit more toe side to much in so that mean just hitting hitting the ground over here no so like this this would be more toe side interaction right this part of the bounce this is more heel side interaction this is what you do a lot of and that’s why the balls come up high with not a lot of spin o that’s close you just nuked it yeah but you have to get a little bit more middle instead of heel you’re heal so much yeah see how the FL came down and spun more yeah so it’s just kind of like this feeling like this kind of a little bit of that but also just a little bit in setup just get just get the handle smidge higher so now your toe side already you don’t have to work as hard there it is see how much more that comes out lower and Spiner and then do your normal one so go a touch more heel side like what you normally do this is going to come out a little higher and a little Knuck CER yeah that it comes out higher with less spin keep the hands up just a little bit cuz that’s kind of what me and Atkins that’s what I did on my in the Q School run I kind of exaggerate we’re always hitting shots like this and just like throwing the ball on the yeah my hands the ball and it actually works okay little hand a little higher yeah see it came out a little lower lower has a much more spin well yeah I mean if I hit that’s just you can feel that’s what I need I don’t need a lot of spin just just a little B harder that pop is than you’re used to nice but this week just hands a little bit higher and just do my normal thing and correct whatever happens happens that one’s not wrong it just comes out different yeah you got to know which one you’re doing that heel side one though is really good out of this rough so you’re going to be really good in the rough with your standard chip and Pitch it’s just these tighter lies that need a little bit of a check just go touch more toe side with the interaction with the ground yeah hands a little higher do same thing and just trust it [Music] [Music] boom [Music] right well front nine in the books uh feel like the game’s pretty good hitting it well swinging in control now again this is only Monday Thursday is going to be a whole different animal putter feels nice but Ben 20 seconds who you are where you’re from your background it’s all literally that’s all you get 20 seconds uh golf instructor out of Nashville Tennessee from the north originally been a college coach been teaching golf for 17 years now so really enjoy doing this this has been a lot of fun today I think we learned some stuff yeah I think put pretty good game plan together yeah good good golf course it’s going to be really interesting for you know there’s not a lot of data on this place so it’s going to be interesting to see how guys attack it birdies could be hard to come by if the wind blows yeah but uh someone always figures it out every week so all right Honest assessment can not hold back scale 1 to 10 front nine for me what you what do you give me I mean the driver was a nine I don’t think we Miss Fairway irons were pretty good I’ll give that about 7 and 1 12 speed speed speed control on putting it’s Monday I’m going to give it to you it’s Monday but we got some work to do what about okay speed but what about the other putting like the actually inside of 20 ft inside 15 ft I mean we we had a lot of six Footers for far and we made them we did but uh let’s let’s not leave ourselves a lot of six Footers for far obviously the guys got game so nice to meet you man nice to meet you too so he’s actually he’s my big competition he’s my number one enemy this week so I’m just kidding no it’s fun to like it’s meet you guys dogs that’s what we do hey and we’re locker room or lock we’re next to each other locker room so smoothies get smoothies let hey nice to meet you man see it just played Brown you guys so I haven’t seen him on the internet heard his name so I mean these got 16-year-olds it’s insane how good they are if I’m playing a PJ tournament when I’m 16 I don’t know if I’d make it I’d be so nervous throwing a all over myself but this guy me look like tour players so shout out to you blades let’s go yep we’re going to the golf course Wesley cams in a full full effect right now think it’s recording oh yeah she is got coffee she trying to sort out georg’s Airbnb situation no power huge sewage leak outside starting to rain don’t know if our practice schedule here on Tuesday is going to be exactly what we were hoping for a lot of mess in the forecast but plan is to get nine holes in today with crashin and George maybe play a little game get a little practice in get ready for Wednesday I’ll be teeing up in the proam George will not just some of the normal stuff here out on PGA Tour for George trying to deal with all the people and autographs and phones and pictures and keeping up with all the Social Media stuff while uploading a video yesterday George’s got a lot going on but uh oh speaking of which oh it’s not going to focus in that’s Matt Atkins calling to adjust the original schedule uh sounds about right forecast does not look great yeah I think that we’ll probably play around 11 would be my guess me and Carney and George and kamiko are in route we’re at least going to eat breakfast and get all stretched out before 10is what’s your ETA 6 minutes our ETA is uh now quite literally now we’re pulling in all right at ainson bucket in route see all the golf course all right it is Tuesday not quite morning anymore the uh rain just subsided we got a little practice round coming today got crashin got George the boys are back and the boys are buzzing here at the Myrtle Beach Classic W should talk more while you’re over the ball oh I mean all day you want him to talk more then what oh boy camera got him PJ Tour times Brian Bros time 2 now I know still doesn’t feel real like playing prats around with Wesley inside the ropes Matt we got crashin here so today’s going be fun today yesterday we got some good working I think today we’re going to not play more like a tournament but really focus on routines having good targets like you would in a tournament but then also probably do some more putting to dial in the speed and have some fun I think you know this week is all about fun for me and the more fun I have the better I’m going to play and so have fun today take in playing prac with Wesley and Matt inside the ropes and uh yeah maybe take some of money playing little $5 Skins game game let’s [Music] go I’m just going to go right over this pine tree perfect there’s no pine tree right there but what do you call those things at the top of those pine oh oh oh oh you’re looking right there’s a Green’s got some fire this week yeah greens are greens are good probably about as good as you could have ever hoped or imagined about as good as meaningful is this connection this part of the world in golf having the PGA tour in Myrtle Beach yeah I feel like as impactful as the state of South Carolina has been in the game of golf really from the existence of the game here in the states um to actually get another PGA Tour event is huge because you’ve seen it uh host Rider cups and major championships and to finally get another uh regular PGA Tour event is really special and here being in the golf capital of the world it it makes way too much sense I honestly can’t believe it took so long to get one here George Wesley it’s great to see you both the Brian Bros my kids going to be watching you this week hoping you guys make a lot of birdies bring home a trophy but most importantly have a lot of fun and thanks for joining us thanks microphones would be a nice touch here so I got to watch a little bitty around not a whole lot of it because y’all’s pace of play was pretty poor to be honest but yeah we waited on you the last hole well I I know but I’m saying I would have liked a little little tighter Group Well Trace did have we had a situation rolls official took off five minutes on nine uh on nine M 18 oh 18 okay so start with your round uh well gosh it was interesting uh hit it really nice hit everything very solid off the te was I would say above average I don’t know statistically what it’s going to say um but actually keep going keep going I mean I I drove it relatively nice I hit it so solid quality of shot was like through the roof high today and it just the score it just didn’t pan out it’s a lot like Dallas last week where I hit the ball great I had a reasonable amount of looks holy cow and yeah you’re were 21 you gain a stroke off the tea I gained a stroke off the tea approach to the green that was largely to do with uh had one little oopsy te ball on 18 my ninth hole and had to chip out to lay up and I laid it up in the rough like too far and with a tucked pin had absolutely no chance let’s see what I did well approach the green 48 hey wait you we wanted to go through my round I’m I’m done with your you’re done with okay so it was average whatever one underpar is what we finished at so George let’s get into yours sorry Strokes gained we were 63rd okay this is disappointing I was all excited to see what were what how many strokes you would gain this is the first time this is the first time we’ve gotten to statistically see how you drive the golf ball as I am basically basically dead last in the field 128 lost almost two strokes off the T and I gained how about how about a flip of the script here 296 driving distance 48th and approach the green is good uh St Strokes gain putting 63r so right in the middle I I mean oh I don’t even want to look at my my Strokes game putting was was poor but but the quality of putt was high quality of no my my quality of putts were great again right you gain Strokes though so that that makes sense but overall two over I got hot early in the round two under par heard some Roars felt some Roars kind of we both were a weird VI on the front nine I mean the the boys were buzzing a little bit um but no the wind picked up missed a lot of Fairways and um was just scrambling and I thought I did great like tour par we’ll probably get into the another a debrief of the debrief um to talk about the first hole because you guys deserve to hear that in enti what do mean what do you mean Deb let’s get into it I want to okay yeah well so you know we’re on the first toll I’m going to look up some of the bombs I hit off the te cuz I mean I hit some good but I’m a little nervous obviously guys I’m the T from Mak South Carolina George Bryan then I hear Annie say little three-year-old hooray Daddy and just the only one talking I’m like Oh my just melted on the tea box about crying everywhere and I’m like well now I have to a golf shot and truly didn’t know how I was going to do it and so I picked a Target don’t remember what it was and I was like screw it doesn’t matter I’m going to hit it awful anyway and so literally hit probably two inches behind it with a three iron but it did go forward and in the rough I’m like hey it’s okay I mean no one everyone clapped for everyone no just not this crickets after I hit my 3 AR I’m like yes I I know bad it’s better than the last time you well one of the last times you teed off and topped it in CA on the first dat yeah know that’s bad but I felt awful the first hole in the second hole but to to the fact that I was able to wrangled it in get a little more comfortable and just hit shots was really cool because again I didn’t think I was going to finish the first two holes and you know we made it through that deep breaths um you guys probably can see just the sheer like emotion nervousness on the on the first T box but we did it the game was good minus the t- balls I feel like I managed the game well I hit it in the spots where he had to hit it to try to get up and down and it was a lot of fun like I I really did have fun I was I was about to show you some of the bombs I hit today so can we get a minute count do we have a ramble counter how how long we going here 5 minutes 14 seconds let’s see go minutes so we’ve got uh we got 3:30 Off full 16 by the way you showed some sauce there that I did not know you had in the bag a sace I I came Behind the Green to watch that and I was like oh get down get down get down cuz I assumed it was going to hit like every other one in Georgia’s W just kind to go and that thing Zing came back to the hole I hit some bombs today so my first bomb was uh 330 on whole 16 that’s 330 was that whole 6 yeah 327 335 335 get in in the rough too imagine if I Fairway okay so what about the on the what about on the second second hole I bombed one well three w why where am I get driver on two 334 to the middle of the Fairway and have 103 yards in hit it to 13 ft that’s all that’s all we’ll see one 332 in the rough too by the way what you have what you hit on 15 what was 15 it was into the wind oh 326 I mean I hit 316 in the Fairway did you hit in the Fairway did you make birdie uh no that was uh that was a bad deal where did you hit how far did you hit on one 341 341 bomb of the day goes to old George no I mean the high fade with the wind the wind whipping left right down I just that was right rough hit a six shot to 25 ft and all right so let’s just go score card how many how many birds did you have today two and then you got then you got blanked I had uh three birds two BS wow so was that far that was round one we’re not hey we’re not out of this like two over par I did not shoot myself out of this you shoot a few under par tomorrow and playing the weekend probably playing the weekend and you get 7 8 9 10 on missing the cut by two or three which when you all watch this video and see that every other hole I was in the rough and punching out or or escaping buryed lies in the rough to only miss the cut by three is pretty wild like I W say I hit 38% of my Fairways I was you might you might only miss the cut by two though you never know if the wind blows although it looks pretty stale out here right now I mean guys what I do let see like what I do well is drive it and the feel like lost on the tea was weird but then you get with the irons as of right now seventh I might be lead I might be leading after after today in Strokes gain with the irons so like I gained three point something Strokes with iron so I that was very elite which is pretty cool because again these guys I’m going against the some of the world’s best players your ball striking is world class like everybody’s told you online in person and it it’s just you you’re just an elite ball strike and I putted it well like I hit quality putts I had a one three putt today but like quality putt I didn’t miss a putt inside 5T this week or six feet uh whatever and so the putter was good so it was just the driver that cost me but anyway overall it was one of the coolest golf experiences of my life like all the emotions I felt all week the sport we felt here I mean it was wild like up and like the galleries we had birdie at the last birdie at the last like it was like we looked on 14 15 Wesley and the whole Fairway had people down it it was pretty cool let’s go I didn’t have that many people watching me and the group in front in case yall are wondering yeah I mean thank you guys for the support I felt it I’m a little sad but also I’m just really thankful grateful and and excited for the future I mean I feel like we could be on the cusp with some really good golf no yeah I mean I kick it over you w well coming off three Bogies my last five holes all extremely sloppy and all extremely disappointing and now we are gently outside the cut finished at one under for the two rounds even part of day Bogey and my last two holes which was kind of a gut shot if we’re being honest cuz I played very very solid all day not a lot of putts dropped couple did here and there but all in all it just felt like like my game was in a very very good spot and I was just scoring miserably and so you’re catching me right after a very poor finish to more than likely uh spend the weekend at home so I mean I drove the ball fine I hit a lot of very high quality Iron shots that didn’t end up great hit a lot of high quality putts that didn’t go in the hole I hit a lot of really really poor poor quality bunker shots and we’re going to have to address the bunker game I mean it’s becoming a problem to where I’m having to like play away from bunkers and the ones that I got in I was one for four from the week hey you want a bunker lesson I got a bunker lesson on Monday that changed my bunker I might just go strictly all nine irons out the bunker no no take a seven iron out of the bunker and hit it until you hit like spin shots and hit hit yeah that’s what I’m saying my n9r out of the bunker is great but I just there was a couple times where I just couldn’t pull out a NR cuz it seemed ridiculous but I had a cupcake out of a bunker on seven and again this is how golf goes I’m a couple inside the cut line and I hit it in the bunker on 17 a very easy vanilla up and down and I just gassed it and then on 18 I hit it this far off the Fairway and it’s the worst line the rough I’ve had all week and there’s water short so I can’t come up short yeah it jumps out of it in a back bunker another a very but it’s still easy bunker bad yeah I you just get it started and just rolls all the way down to the hole and I just framed it and so anyway you live and you learn thank you all so much for all of yall support this week watching this when it comes out in a couple days but then we also I know that there’s a lot of y’all out here that watch this week the support here on site was amazing so to everybody that came out and watch huge shout out to you guys thank yall so much this was special it’s fun obviously I’m a little bitter and angry right now George is is it’s like Middle Ground like I’m happy that I survived and didn’t make a fool of myself but then at the same time you’re going you’re going to beat a lot of tour players um but then I’m sad because of knowing like how close man how close but that’s goof and thank you guys for the support and if this video does end right now it’s because because I missed upstairs okay there’s some things we’ll talk about later because I did some pretty Elite things this week ball striking wise I was top 10 top 20 in Strokes gained ball strike or approach to Green
