who works for the same Dallas station
that has Jerry Jones on twice a week
during the season Sharie said and I
quote I’m talking about at least four
different people who have told me that
Micah has worn thin there I don’t know
how much is true how much it actually
hurts I don’t know whether this is the
behavior of a typical Superstar but all
I do know is this I’ve heard from way
too many people that if Micah Parsons
were out of there there would be a
decent amount of people inside the Ford
Center at the star in Frisco smiling or
breathing a sigh of
relief hean I’ll let you deal with this
first your
reaction what has he done man he got a
podcast he got a podcast he likes to
talk you he really likes to talk what is
it that he’s done so egregious that
people would be happy that he’s gone I I
don’t understand okay so maybe there is
some truth to a player that rubs people
the wrong way that’s been in the
building for many years that hadn’t won
anything so what happens and what I mean
by that so I’m going give you a little
bit of inside skip who you’ve been
around organizations and you kind of
know how they work when you have have
certain people in the building let’s say
that’s been there 15 years and they
hadn’t won anything and you got a player
that has personality that comes in and
he’s having fun or talking a lot or
whatever the case is that may rub you
the wrong way uhhuh are you speaking of
somebody nearby here right now or talk
about no I’m just talking about just in
general okay I’m just saying but did you
experien that no never not at all we
were sorry we 15 yeah we were not a good
team in the next year we was on our way
to AFC Championship game so I’m not I’m
not talking about me personally I just
know
how people inside those buildings in the
front office and people that work in the
building whether they football people or
just working in the building doing some
other administrative things they’ve been
there so long they haven’t won anything
when a personality comes in and they
necessarily can’t tell that personality
anything at all cuz they don’t have the
juice to do it it rubs them the wrong
way and they may have a relationship
with with um with Shen and have a
conversation with them it could be
multiple guys it could be people at
functions that the Cowboys may have golf
outings that the Cowboys and Jerry likes
to put on and all of the administrative
people are there along with reporters
and they got their little sidebar going
at the bar and they’re talking but what
do you think about Mike ah guy gets on
my nerves he’s always talking he’s
always running his mouth Bill blah blah
that’s how they that’s the conversation
agreed and and
so I doubt that this is coming from the
head people in charge the money check
writers I doubt it it’s coming from if I
if I’m a if I’m a bet man is coming from
people that want to be super important
that’s what it’s coming because that’s
usually where your little your little
slide leaks come from they come from
people that are not in the position of
power but they want to be in a position
of power so this allows them to have
some power because what they doing is
they telling on him they ratting him out
they snitching on him I’m just I’m I’m
being honest I got it I’m telling you
know so in the end you say well is there
going to be a problem Kean oh yeah there
gonna be a problem you know why cuz Josh
Allen the linebacker that was at
Kentucky that win the first round of
Jacksonville Jaguars he just sign 150
million with 88 of a guaranteed okay
that’s going to be the problem the
problem is going to be say man hold on
they just gave this man this money and
you want me to play for 2 and a half
million we just
heard a report come out yesterday or the
day before that if they didn’t get CD
Dam’s deal done CD lamb ain’t stepping
on the field then he he walked that back
he he said he would be there and would
participate but go ahead participa inv
voluntary or mandatory which one see
probably mandatory there’s a difference
yeah cuz I ain’t going on the field
voluntarily I’m going come on the field
mandatory so I don’t get fined and most
players will do that and that’s the way
things go unless you hold in as in I
show up but I don’t do anything I was
going to say in most organizations will
say hey come in let’s continue to try to
work this out because we don’t want you
to run the risk yeah because when you
look at the numbers him and Josh Allen
basically the sacks are the same to me
it’s 17 and A2 versus 14 tackles for
loss 17 and 18 so tackles 43 and 36
fumbles Force two and one and and Allen
got an interception that’s the same
Michael Parson’s going to look for a
little bit more money so Jerry’s gonna
have some issues if that deal can’t get
done that’s where your problems are
gonna come in yeah all right my turn I’m
going to disqualify myself because this
is relentlessly depressing to me about
my team my team has done next to nothing
through the off season and now I have to
deal with this on top of all of none of
that it it
is it’s it’s a dark time to be a Dallas
Cowboy fan because they just got blown
off the field by the youngest team in
the playoffs in a home playoff game in
which we Trail 27 to nothing before
halftime it’s incomprehensible
it’s it’s unacceptable you know it and I
know it and now this on top of that so I
I almost can’t get my mind to go into
this the Cowboys I guess it’s just the
Cowboys look I I was mic’s biggest fan
for those first couple of years maybe I
overreacted I’ll be the first to say
maybe I overhyped maybe I ected maybe I
did engage in conversations about could
he be Lawrence Taylor could he rise into
the
conversation not yet and I’m starting to
think not ever because I haven’t seen
enough when it mattered the most so
here’s the point why did Michael
Parson’s fall into Dallas’s lap with the
12th overall pick what was the pre-draft
knock on Michael Parson play his junior
year I understand because the the co
year yeah he set out okay but the the
book on him at Penn State was he was
difficult to coach that’s all I heard
before the draft difficult to coach I
didn’t put much stock in it or care that
much about it because I didn’t think
there was any way he was going to be
there for the Dallas Cowboys who were
fixating on the the two corners were
available remember it’s ceran and uh JC
horn and it’s one or the other whoever’s
going to be there were taking a corner
and then once both were taken off the
board the the second San by the Denver
Broncos right ahead of us then Jerry
went backwards with Philadelphia which
wanted um uh what’s his name Smith um
Devonte Devonte Smith yeah where they
they just said well we need the receiver
and Jerry trusted that they wouldn’t
take somebody doubt that that ho Roseman
said I just want that receiver period
into the story in jur he said okay we’ll
swap with you and then Micah fell into
their laps at 12 okay well you look at
it after the first two years and you say
was that not one of the greatest picks
ever and then Micah starts doing his
podcast I know it’s not into the world
stuff but every week we had some issue
that we were talking about well he he’s
antagonizing this opponent or that
opponent or he’s saying things that
maybe some of his teammates won’t really
like about what’s happening in inside
that locker room it’s one thing after
another and I said it’s just too soon
you need to go out and do it first the
the one thing I respect to the most
about Patrick Mahomes he and Lee
Steinberg said no TV commercials until
you actually go win something they did
nothing for their first couple three
years everybody does a different okay
but then Patrick Mahomes went out and
they won that super quarterback okay so
but as a quarterback he does it
different okay but now he’s doing all
the commercials that he has earned and
he deserves
and so with Mike I’m saying just show me
something he had the worst pass rushing
stats of his career against Green Bay in
that home playoff loss that’s not
showing me anything look he there are
been there have there have been games in
his career that he has disappeared in
okay but you can’t tell me his
production for the four years that he’s
been a Dallas Cowboy no he’s very good
that he wasn’t worth the 12th pick of
the draft I got it he has been very good
but I can’t say he’s been been great
because you got to show it to me in the
big playoff games we haven’t seen it you
got to take it home for me down the
stretch and you know and I know you’ve
brought it up to me before the last four
or five games of each of the last two
seasons he has faded it’s it’s in part
because he’s not a big physical player
he doesn’t carry the most weight he said
he put on 10 pounds of muscles going
muscle going into the season last year
well you know what happens over 17 games
it just gets worn off you worn off you
and those 350 lb tack are just beating
on you and beating on you and just
hammering away and after a while you
just get worn down and then I had to
watch Micah go to the celebrity All-Star
basketball game and dominate would he
score 42 or whatever it was he shouldn’t
have played and beat his chest after the
game look at me I’m the MVP of the
allstar game to play bad move yeah could
you could you at least be the defensive
player of the year in the National
Football League I’ll take that I I don’t
need you to be the
MVP understand your feelings as a fan
about Michael Parsons and this is the
same thing I’m saying about whoever it
was that decided to or several people
according to the the article that have
have spoke on him being a pain in in the
rear end look players are going to be
let me tell you something let me tell
you I I’ve written three books on the
Dallas Cowboys and I spent Seasons
inside the the dynasty teams of the 9s
who who are my best sources assistant
coaches
Scouts trainer understand uh PR people
for that matter okay so if he talked to
four people it could be any one of those
any any of those people that’s what I
said it ain’t the people that got to
write the checks no that’s for damn sure
although every once in a while it could
come from on high every once in a while
I’m never going to I’m never going to
say that it will not come from upstairs
but in this case I don’t I’m with you on
this one it comes from yeah those that
want to be able to win a championship in
the worst way and him being a young man
getting on their nerves to the point
where they just tired of it Hey listen
if my team had beaten Green Bay as it
should have and then beaten Detroit at
home as I thought it would and had gone
to San Francisco and at least played a
respectable game against the 49ers even
if they lost this story wouldn’t come
out because there there wouldn’t be that
catastrophic feeling inside the the
organization of oh my God what just
happened to us where you’re doing this
you’re you’re starting to say somebody’s
got to pay for this somebody’s got to be
blamed for this well how about our
defensive quote unquote Player of the
Year candidate and a guy who is who
wants to be paid the most money of any
defensive going get paid that you should
move him then won’t y’all move him I’m
just saying W you trade him to like but
this is is the one where I don’t want to
trade him but it’s just disappointing to
me it’s depressing to me that he hasn’t
lived up to what I thought he was going
to be or what a lot of people but that’s
your fault well I don’t know if it’s my
fault it’s your fault because your
expectations yeah are too high in a
short order of time okay but who
wouldn’t after what we saw the first two
years but he’s been consistent well he’s
been consistently fading at the he’s
consistent at doing the same thing since
he came in the league what’s changed
you you decided in year one that oh my
God year two oh my god oh year three
he’ll be better than year two yeah well
he faded I mean you guys decided that
y’all the ones that set up here is said
following all these old analysts and all
these dudes at these networks running
with instant evaluator oh he’s going to
be the next Lawrence T like what are you
talking about law took Lawrence Taylor
17 18 years
a body of work however long it was was
there okay it took him forever it didn’t
it didn’t he didn’t he became Lawrence
Taylor overnight but he consistently
throughout his career was a Difference
Maker where they didn’t run at him they
were scared of him they set the ly to
him all of those sort of things they
found 56 wherever he was at yeah y’all
immediately jumped on this and made
Michael Parson something that he hadn’t
arrived to yet this is what happens in
sports media they do it all the time oh
he’s the next he’s going to be the next
like the dude played like a handful of
games I know but kean’s called being a
fan too yeah but slow down this is what
I was trying to tell you since well I’ll
tell you what my eyes told me right away
that Michael Parsons is quicker and
faster than Lawrence Taylor ever thought
about being but that’s not all that goes
into playing that position that’s very
true okay because Lawrence Taylor was a
man’s man and to your point nobody even
wanted to run in that
they were scared of tlor were they look
what he did to Joe thyman on literally
scared of him they were scared of Reggie
White yeah they were scared of Charles
Dallas was not scared of Reggie White
but go I’m talking about the league I
ain’t talking about one team yeah I
understand that you guys had a hell of a
offensive line and KN knew how to
neutralize it neutral I’m talking about
the entire league what happen the league
was scared of him because they couldn’t
block him this happens every single year
in sports the first thing that happens
is a guy has a good year and y’all go
crazy yeah y’all go oh this guy’s going
to be the greatest it’s like wait a
minute man you getting ready to put this
dude in C before before he even gets to
play in a Hall of Fame game okay but out
of one side of your mouth you say that
and out of the next side of your mouth
you say he’s going to be and he deserves
to be the highest paid defensive player
ever yes because he’s young and he’s
next in line and that is the way it is
can he be great can he be alltime great
has the makings of being one of the best
to ever do it you got to coach him out
of it you got to put him in the right
positions the other players have got to
show up all of those things is true skip
okay it ain’t just michah Parsons he’s
got four or five other guys on the
defensive line at the linebacker
position that’s got to do their jobs for
him to be able to free up and do their
job okay what gets
revealed over time over three or four
years in the end is football
character it’s what I call being a
coldblooded football killer do you have
that in you obviously at the highest
level Lawrence Taylor had that at the
highest level trust me Charles Haley had
that the the these guys are these are
bad you know whats right yeah and I’m
not seeing that yet in Micah because
that’s the final piece to the puzzle I
see the explosion I see the quickness in
in the off season I see the speed cuz
he’ll line up against cornerbacks in the
offseason and run 40s against them and
beat them this is his this is going on
his fourth year in the National Football
League this is going on his fourth this
isn’t his fourth yeah his fourth starts
in September yeah but listen I I was
there all I need you to do after two
years of laun Tor I said hey your first
year I need you to know how to get to
the damn Stadium y your second year I
need need you to show me you can play
professional football he’s exceeded both
of those years yeah your third year I
need you to be a Bonafide Pro Bowl type
player he’s exceeded all those three
years yeah now in that fourth and that
Fifth and that sixth year I need you to
be something totally different where
every single time we step on the
field they gonna say uh oh okay I I
understand but what did CJ strad show
you last year that you going to take
that that’s an outlier okay CJ stra is
this an outlier or not CJ stra this year
may Tinker down his legs skip we don’t
know we don’t think so what did puka AA
show you last year I saw Aaron do said
the other day he is going to be alltime
great because he will sustain this well
and that may be the case and then again
puka May flame out okay which is it he
may flame you don’t know it’s too early
for that assessment but is your what do
your eyes tell you what’s your gut tell
my eyes tell me he’s in the right
situation to succeed but here’s what
else I’m going tell you Matthew Stafford
is getting ready to retire in a couple
years now you’re going to be having
another quarterback and Michael penck or
one of those dudes that now what now
what it’s going to look like I don’t
know if he’s that dude he’ll be that
dude for the next
guy y’all something else man when y’all
go to evaluate players do me a damn
favor stop putting them in Canton after
after two and three years man let it
develop it wasn’t just me it was a lot
of football people y’all I didn’t say
you I said y’all I didn’t just say you
yeah I said y’all okay which means many
people but sometimes you show and Flash
that potential and then all of a sudden
the spotlight gets real bright on you
and all of a sudden you wilt under the
spotlight and all of a sudden you start
doing podcast because you think you have
arrived and it’s just too much too soon
and you can’t live up to it everybody is
different
because you keep painting that big
Target on your back and offensive
linemen are saying I’ll show him a
podcast and hopefully for him I’ll show
him a podcast hopefully for him this
year when he steps on the field he will
finish all 17 games like he started
that’s hopefully for him well hopefully
because he will be the highest paid
defensive player in the history of the
league when his time is when when they
finally get a deal done cuz he ain’t
playing for $2 and5 million I can tell
you that now I’m going to restate my
position I got one football player on my
team who has earned that kind of money
top dollar and that’s my receiver CD
lamb it doesn’t work that way he’s made
of the right stuff doesn’t well that’s
just the one guy I trust I’ll take him
to my bank as I told you before why
don’t you trade him there just trade
trade him and Dak and then go from there
this is what you call bad luck where
you’re stuck with overpaying a player
who has not lived up you’re not St you
can go get at least three ons for
Michael Parsons I’m sure if y’all put
him out there it’s going they going to
line up well who knows so yall should do
it maybe since he’s such a bad guy in
the locker room and in the facility and
they can’t wait to see him gone I dare
you to he played the whole game in which
we were down 27 to nothing before
halftime he was out on the football
