Productive Week at Office for No. 2 Arkansas

Despite constant meltdowns from the Arkansas fan base, the Razorbacks continue to win at a high level and remain in first place in the SEC West standings after a road series win at South Carolina. On the latest episode of The Baumbastic Podcast, Andrew Ellis discusses the week that was for the Diamond Hogs and addresses some of the toxicity in and around the Razorback faithful.

South Arkansas they are everywhere

connection a personal relationship to
satisfy all your banking needs uh you

human being on the phone they’ll take
care of you they’ll do everything you

perfect size Community focused very
personal uh you will appreciate their
services as I and many others do and uh
you know we we love them and appreciate
all that they do here for cinnati State
Sports um let’s see what do we got next
uh guys Arkansas I guess now at this
point I guess I should start talking
baseball since we’re 5 minutes in uh
yeah baseball Arkansas is coming off of
a Road Series win which you know at
different points during the series at
South Carolina and Columbia where
apparently it was really hot and
apparently it was storming on Sunday so
they wrapped it all up with a double
header on Saturday things looked a
little Bleak for a second there I’m not
going to lie I think a lot of people
were kind of getting a little frustrated
that that that frustration was building
and building and you know Arkansas takes
game one 2 to one didn’t into a whole
lot offensively uh than game two they
lose six to3 and it’s like you can tell
people are getting more and more
frustrated more and more frustrated so
who knows what the reaction would have
been like publicly or on Twitter or even
on this show if Arkansas had not shown
up in that game three and not taken the
series taken there I guess it was the
first time they won a rubber match all
year if I’m thinking correctly because
Auburn they didn’t have a rubber match
uh they’ve swept everyone
else Bama they lost the rubber match I
think that was Arkansas’s first time
winning a game three uh I guess Arling
and they didn’t play a series but they
won game three after losing the or
splitting the first two so I don’t know
if that that counts there necessarily
but this is Arkansas’s first taste of
like some real having to battle through
adversity and win a game to uh kind of
decide a series so all that stuff is is
good uh it’s always nice to see and
honestly just the response in Arkansas
scoring nine runs on nine hits was
definitely promising to see uh but guys
we got to we got to just talk I just
want to do a quick little rant here this
is gonna this might turn into just a
little Andrew Lis ramble sesh as I like
to do uh but you know I just feel like
every time I am watching Arkansas play
baseball I either get on Twitter or get
on Facebook I don’t get on Facebook uh
or I get on our Discord server shout out
to the Dixon Street Discord which is
soon to be the official Discord of Natty
State Sports uh we love that there we
have a nice little game chat there just
quick little Shameless plug game chat’s
always popping uh but it always feels
like you know I always talk about how
you have the two people on different
ends and and neither of them are right
but they’re yelling at each other and
fighting over each other and it feels
like they’re both doing straw man
arguments a little bit where you have
one side which is uh fire Nate Thompson
right now he sucks this team sucks and
it’s going to cost this program and dvh
is a is is a fool for letting it go on
and or this team doesn’t have it and
like they just can’t hit and then you
have the other side of people who are
like no everything’s fine this team this
team’s awesome like what do you mean
they can’t hit they’re uh they they they
they they have a gorilla like they hit
home runs and like oh yeah you know they
they’ll try to pretend like everything’s
great and neither of them are right you
know but it’s those are the two voices
you hear just going at it it’s like
people being mad at the team and
overreacting to everything they see
especially on the negative side and then
you have people being mad at the people
for overreacting and so you just have it
be a circle of these people who are like
oh if you don’t you don’t like this team
then leave you know and stuff like that
and it’s like I just feel like we got to
be able to find a nice little middle
ground there where we can acknowledge
everything that’s going on which you
know for the most part is going pretty
well I mean Arkansas is now what like 34
and what are they they’re 14 and four in
SEC play I guess they only lost those
two non-conference games so what are
they 35- six 34 and six uh you know this
is a very good baseball team clearly and
a lot of that is due to them having the
best pitching staff in the
country which they lean on sometimes
sometimes more than others uh is
Arkansas a good offensive team no
they’re not a good offensive team there
is literally no metric no case you can
make via anything real that Arkansas is
a good offensive team relative to their
peers uh but do they have to be I don’t
know I think they definitely have to
have flashes of being good and they have
to be good in certain moments uh like in
game three Saturday they kind of had to
show up they showed up uh I’m not
convinced Arkansas has to have a really
good offense um but we have I mean if
anyone if you if you’re listening right
now and you were thinking about hopping
on Twitter and arguing that Arkansas is
a good offense don’t do that uh they
just don’t there is no merit to that
argument uh this is this is this team is
what it is which is an average offensive
team and a really really really really
really Elite historic pitching staff
frankly um and I I’ve also seen some
people try to indicate that it’s like oh
it’s just Hagen Smith and that’s it uh
that’s not true either I mean Arkansas’s
pretty consistently even if you take out
Hagen Smith stats Arkansas would still
be leing the SEC in erra during
conference play they’d still be leading
the SEC in strikeouts during conference
play they’d still be top five nationally
in ra like Hagen Smith is the best
pitcher in the country uh so I don’t I
don’t get why people would do the
argument of like well take him away and
what do you have well it’s a pretty
pretty big piece to take away but
Arkansas’s pitching staff has answers to
a lot and they bailed this offense out a
lot I mean that’s how that’s why
Arkansas’s record is what it is despite
them being middle of the pack and
everything else and middle of the pack
is probably uh in some cases um but I
just I really the discourse around this
team is almost insufferable at times and
I don’t know what what it is about it
like why that is the case and uh you
know it’s always funny because early in
the year there’s just less people
watching baseball where like a lot of
the people listen to this podcast y’all
are watching but a lot of like the
people on Twitter are either focused on
basketball focused on football or
focused on just whatever focus on NFL
like I don’t know uh but it it feels
like this starts to ramp up here as the
year goes on and more and more people
are watching and a lot of people
watching for the first time uh like not
not calling out my brother-in-law but
the other day I was talking I was I was
at my uh my beautiful niece’s birthday
party and my brother-in-law said that
the Alabama series was the first series
he was able to watch in its entirety now
you know that’s that’s not like a knock
on my brother-in-law it’s just like he’s
a busy guy he’s got things going on like
you know just last week was the first
time he was able to watch this team in
its entirety now he didn’t he’s a normal
person so he was not texting me being
like this team sucks
why can’t they hit ‘re we’re we’re going
to choke again blah blah blah he wasn’t
doing stuff like that but a lot of
people I would imagine were in his shoes
where they just now started watching and
uh they’ve seen some games they didn’t
like and so they’re like hey we’re just
going to uh just going to roll with this
narrative um and look like I said it’s
not that I’m saying you shouldn’t be
concerned about the offense the offense
has had plenty of concerning moments if
you listen to this podcast I call the
offense out like once a week where I’m
like hey they kind of got to pick it up
they’re underachieving like I don’t
understand what’s going on here a little
bit uh it is what it is like I’m not
saying you shouldn’t be concerned about
this offense at all uh but I do think
the discourse around this team just kind
of sucks to be a part of sometimes like
seems like you guys are miserable and
can’t really enjoy anything like uh and
like look I understand there like I said
there were moments during this series
where it looked a little Bleak where it
was like man if you know ark’s really
going to have to to to get something
done here you know we’ll see how it
plays out but then you look back at the
weekend and they win a road series on
the road at a top 20 team who South
Carolina I got to be honest with you
like I was I was talking a little crazy
last week saying Mark Kingston might get
fired uh and he might you know if they
miss if they end up like kind of falling
off down the stretch and missing the
tournament he will probably get fired uh
but South Carolina’s still fighting like
they’re still they’re a talented team
they’ve got some pieces really old
lineup uh so I thought it was a nice
little test for Arkansas’s pitching
staff which they passed for the most
part uh I guess they gave up what would
that be like 12 runs in three games or
something like that so like what didn’t
dominate him uh but it was a nice little
test and I felt like they passed it for
the most part uh and we’ll get into some
of the specifics of that but I thought
that like overall it was like it’s hard
to complain about that a Road Series win
you win the finale scoring nine runs
like you know you there were some some
positive moments there were some
negative moments some good developments
you know up and down here and there but
like you just look at the week as a
whole Arkansas beats Texas Tech twice at
home uh and Texas Texas a pretty solid
team you know I think they were like 27
and 11 going into the series I don’t
know what they did this weekend because
I don’t watch Big 12 baseball CU I’m a
normal person uh but you know Texas Tech
is a solid team you beat them twice in a
midweek series a lot of fans came out
that was fun you go on the road and
really I would say play your best road
series of the of the year uh probably
Arkansas’s best overall performance on
the road this year and they beat a
really good I mean not a really good
team they beat a good team on the road
in their park uh in front of about 12
fans but they did it on the road and uh
as dvh pointed out afterwards to the
team team they had to sit in the heat
during the double header they had to
just between games they just sat out
there and cooked in the 90° weather in
Columbia uh they had to dig deep and
kind of looked themselves in the mirror
and they came out of the other end of it
and they played really well so you think
all these things I just said of Arkansas
winning two games winning on the road
like all that Arkansas baseball fans
should be going to Monday morning work
like with a little pep pep in their step
like hey our team played really well
this weekend like hey that’s that’s
pretty cool right but it doesn’t feel
that way you hop on Twitter and it’s
like freaking Cesspool of negativity and
like you know people being mad at the
negativity which by the way I’ve said on
this program before is just as stupid as
being negative like go trying to respond
to every single comment you see and
forcing people to agree with you like
you’re wasting your time as well and it
just kind of feeds this whole thing uh
good Lord man like can we ever just be
normal and just talk about the baseball
team for what’s happening and just be
like like you know Friday night H
offense didn’t really do like I tweeted
out offense didn’t do much but Hagen
Smith gab G got the job done good job uh
then after game two it’s like hey you
know ark’s offense really struggling
they’re going to have to do something
here they did something it’s all good
like it should be that simple we should
be able to go from A to B to C respond
with to what we see you know normally uh
and just kind of go about our day
because I think if you would you would
enjoy this team a lot I mean if you have
not had fun like someone I’m not I don’t
I’m not going to call the guy out cuz he
he you know backtracked and apologized
later but there was someone in our
Discord thread that was like man I just
can’t wait for this season to be over
with and so I told him I was like dude
if you’re not enjoying like if you’re
not having fun this baseball season then
you’re probably just never going to
enjoy happiness like you’re not going to
be have fun you know like a lot of times
like you
know your thoughts are your reality you
know like the way you approach it is
just kind of the way you’re going to
enjoy it and so if you’re watching these
games looking for stuff to be pissed off
about you’re going to find plenty if
you’re looking if you’re watching these
games looking for stuff to be excited
about out you’re going to find plenty
like there’s all you can you know
there’s this this team there’s so much
going on in a baseball season there’s
highs there’s lows there’s weekends
where this doesn’t happen weekends where
that doesn’t happen some weekends your
pitch and stab has to bail your AR your
your hitting out sometimes your lineup
steps up and bails you out like they did
against Texas Tech on Tuesday like it’s
just es and flows and Peaks and valleys
you got to just embrace the grind and
not be a weirdo and hopping on the TW on
Twitter yelling at everyone that you can
find about Nate like just stop doing
that that’s a weird thing to do um
anyways like I just wanted to kind of
get that out there um also I wanted to
share one quick little uh one quick
little stat with y’all that I thought
just kind of caught my attention which
was interesting to me and it kind of
because if you look at Arkansas on
paper obviously they have the best ER in
the country and I think they’re in in
SEC play I think Arkansas is like e or
ninth in the league and scoring
offensively uh and so you look at that
and you’re like okay does that equal the
best team team in the SEC like I don’t
know and you know the answer so far has
been you know for the most part yes
other than I guess Kentucky still
technically has a better record than
them even though they did lose a series
this weekend so suck on that Kentucky um
but I I found this little number here
that really I feel like tells tells a
story of kind of what’s been setting
Arkansas apart at least to this point
with two outs opponents are hitting 165
against Arkansas pitching which is the
lowest in the SEC and it’s pretty
significant margin like I think it was
like the next closest like 189 or 191 or
something like that like when there’s
two outs Arkansas does not give up that
three-run double that two-run home run
that oh there’s a runner on second and
you know you know we’re doing all right
oh we got two strikeouts oh but then we
gave up a base hit like obviously it
happens sometimes I mean you know 16.5%
of the time uh but Arkansas has been
really good about leaving Runners on
base getting out of those jams and on
the flip side Arkansas has been very
underwhelming offensively in aot of
categories but they’re hitting 281 with
two outs I feel like they’ve done a
really good job of kind of you know they
don’t come through with every situation
like there’s plenty of times Arkansas
leaves Runner stranded I mean that game
one against South Carolina what was it
like 12 13 or was that game two uh they
leave a lot of Runner stranded but I do
feel like Arkansas is good about getting
that deflating base hit where it’s like
oh you know they haven’t really done
much walk hit by pitch whatever oh and
then they get the two-run single oh and
then they get the two-run double or you
know at home they hit the home runs
although I have the gorilla ball here
missing because Arkansas failed to hit a
home run against South Carolina uh which
just and the wind was blowing out too it
was crazy uh Arkansas just doesn’t
launch the ball anymore man this is not
a power-hitting team anymore we got to
we got to go ahead and I mean I love I
love gorilla ball as much as anyone
Arkansas just ain’t gorilla anymore at
least not on the road we’ll see if they
get it going against Florida but uh I
just feel like when Arkansas comes
through with those hits they come
through with him at the right time uh
that 281 batting average is six in the
SEC with two outs which I thought was
notable cuz I mean it’s really hard to
find a statistic other than walks that
Arkansas is in the top half of the SEC
in this was one of them and I feel like
those that walks that I me just
mentioned their second in SEC play uh I
feel like that’s kind of been a big key
factor for this Arkansas offense because
you know we’ve seen they are not going
to consistently string together Innings
you know several straight at bats
although you know we’ll get to it in
game three a little bit they did uh on a
consistent basis Arkansas is not just
going to roll the balls out there and
just hit hit hit hit hit they have to be
a little bit more opportunistic they
have to take advantage when Runners are
in scoring position uh which they do a
pretty like everyone like acts like
that’s like they’re like oh what’s
what’s their runners in scoring position
it’s about what their normal off like
everyone in the SEC for the most part
like their overall numbers are pretty
similar to their two-out numbers to
their Runners and scoring position
numbers uh that two-out number is just
the the one that I noticed that Arkansas
was actually doing really well in and I
was like okay cuz I’m trying to figure
out I’m like how does Arkansas continue
to win games despite really not doing
much offensively and uh you know in game
one against South Carolina which by the
way let’s just uh let’s just go ahead
and turn the page and start talking
about these games and what went on in
these games so game one uh Arkansas
let’s see the numbers on this it was
pretty wild so Arkansas finished with
four hits in this game they did work 10
walks and they were hit by two pitches
and I think there might even been an
error or two mixed in there from South
Carolina uh that’s a lie there were zero
errors in this game but uh 10 walks two
hit by pitches and four hits arkansaw
comes away with two runs they left 14
dudes on base uh it just felt like they
were struggling to get that big hit the
big hit as dvh always says uh so maybe I
picked a bad time to read this stat
because this was the one game that they
really did not get those big hits but it
turned out to be just enough because
Hagen Smith is Hagen Smith and Gabe
gackle is Gabe GLE uh Christian Fouch
and stone H also pitched in this game
Stone hit vultured yet another save but
man I mean Arkansas tests the boundaries
of just how much offense you need to win
a Hagen Smith start uh man it was Unreal
so Hagen himself walked Five Guys which
I believe is a season high for him and
his command has been a little bit up and
down here lately now he’s always been a
guy who like I mean when you throw 98
from the left side you’re probably not
going to be an elite command guy like
it’s just not how these things work um
and he’s got swinging Miss stuff and he
he doesn’t throw the ball directly over
the heart of the plate that’s why he
doesn’t get hit that’s also why you can
lose some guys here and there but uh
there was a point this year where he had
like only 10 walks and I believe he was
going into the LSU game so in these last
few weeks he’s racked up like 11 walks
and three starts uh little bit like you
know raise your eyebrow where you’re
like hey I I really wish you’d stop
doing that uh but in this game against
South Carolina only gives up to two hits
struck out 11 uh really only had to get
himself out of one or two real jams like
he had Runners on in just about every
inning but there was only a couple times
were they really threatened and it
looked like they were going to score
runs uh Hagen man just an unreal pitcher
I’m just going to go ahead and say this
I think Hagen Smith is the best pitcher
I’ve ever seen and when I say that I
don’t know what the criteria is I you
know I’ve been to plenty of MLB games
I’ve been to you know hundreds on
hundreds of Arkansas games and I’ve seen
a lot of pitchers
he’s definitely the best I’ve ever seen
at Arkansas now I’m 26 years old so you
know if if there’s some if there’s some
guy in 1983 that you’re like no he was
way better than Hagen Smith I’ll take
your word for it because I didn’t watch
him but in just my lifetime which you
know includes a good bit of guys which
includes Nick Schmidt Nick Schmid was
like one of the first pitchers I can
remember watching uh he was Unreal and
he’s in the conversation uh you have
Ryan stanik Drew Smiley Dallas Kyo who
didn’t have a tremendous Arc I mean
wasn’t like a at the time Dallas K was
at Arkansas none of us were calling him
a future Sai Young guy or anything he’s
in that conversation Uh Kevin cops
obviously Isaiah Campbell I think the
these guys make up the conversation uh
Hagen Smith is better than them man I
just I don’t know I don’t know like you
whatever the criteria you want to make
it if you want to say who’s the best
college pitcher you’ve ever seen Hagen
Smith up there man I I just can’t
imagine seeing you know I can’t imagine
Arkansas ever having a better Friday
night starter than this guy uh and they
definitely have’t in my lifetime in my
opinion if you want to make the criteria
who’s going to have the best pro career
it’s probably Hagen Smith if it’s just a
matter of like hey one at bat we got to
get a guy out we got to get a punch out
or whatever it is I think Hagen Smith’s
that guy too like I just I and his
mentality physicality like he has the
full package and like I want to clarify
though like Hagen Smith came to Arkansas
as a freshman and was obviously really
talented he threw like eight no hitters
as a senior in high school was a guy
that people knew was going to be pretty
good uh was kind of on that Fringe of
like will he go to the draft will he get
signed or whatever uh ends up coming to
Arkansas and he was a highly highly
touted guy and right away you could see
why you could see the talent you see the
arm and you kind of just see he’s like a
little bit more Pro ready than your
typical College freshman pitcher I
believe Matt Hobs talked about this
where he was like he was coached
tremendously before Arkansas so it
wasn’t like Matt Hobs had to do a ton of
reworking his arm reworking his motion
reworking anything or teaching him how
to throw these certain things like he
was pretty polished coming into Arkansas
but even saying that what he was as a
freshman to what he is now it’s pretty
crazy man just the development that he’s
made and I mean he’s got massively
better from freshman year to sophomore
year goes from like a guy who had like a
mid four erra and was in the weekend
rotation but had his ups and downs a
little bit to a guy the next the next
year who was first team all SEC him and
Paul SK you know starting closing was
clearly the best pitcher on Arkansas
Staff last year took that big step
forward and now he’s taking another
massive step forward his stuff is better
uh mentally it seems like he’s really
sharp seems like he handles adversity
really well uh he doesn’t have those
weird starts where he gets caught up and
his commands out of there and he’s only
going two and a third or anything like
that like he doesn’t have any of those
moments like he usually ends up giving
Arkansas six and they usually have a
lead and usually about zero to zero to
two runs on that scoreboard for the
opposing team the consistency of what he
does and what he brings to the tables
just next level and uh you know speaking
of freshman who came to Arkansas pretty
damn polished Gabe GLE comes in uh so
Christian Fouch came in after Smith to
start the seventh inning which I thought
was an interesting call because it was
was it two to one at this point or two
was it 1-1 2-1 uh I think it was 2-1
arkal goes to Christian Fouch and he
throws a couple really solid fast balls
just dotted on the outside corner then a
guy just kind of pokes a single through
the left side against them like one I
think he was up one two on the guy uh so
right away you get a leadoff single and
then the guy squares around next guy
squares around a bunt and uh Fouch Just
Hits him in the face with a 99 M hour
fast ball uh bold decision uh gab
Arkansas first and second with nobody
out and so they they’re kind of forced
to bring in Gabe GLE in the seventh
inning and uh I I you know at this point
tension’s High the stakes are high
you’re kind of Wen thinking man is
Arkansas about to strand or about to
waste a Hagen Smith start uh they did
not because Gabe GLE was absolutely
lights out
Not only was G geko good I mean we’ve
seen geko be good a lot a lot of times
I’m coming on this program and saying
hey geko is really good this might have
been his best outing as a hog just in
terms of just the way he was mixing
pitches his fast ball was up to 98 so
his stuff was as good as it’s ever been
it’s almost getting better down the
stretch uh his command was Unreal he did
walk one guy uh gave up a base hit I
think it was like a two- out base hit in
his last inning of work uh seemed to
kind of like I mean now he wouldn’t run
out of gas but uh down the stretch there
seemed like it was it was getting a
little bit hairy gave up a double and
they intentionally walked Cole
MSA uh so I guess that was that his only
walk there yeah like he retired the
first two eight guys he faced uh and
then gives up a double and a 3-2 count
the intentional walk and then you’re
done uh man it was just it was unreal
man it was a really big time outing
turns it over to Stone huet who gets the
left on left uh I could not be more
impressed with Gabe GLE and just H the
development he’s had and he’s another
one who like you know he’s obviously
very good he’s a true freshman was was
good the day he got on campus but seeing
what he where he was at in the fall to
now it is it is a a pretty noticeable
Improvement pretty noticeable
development track and I think that just
speaks volumes to the job Matt Hobbs is
doing uh his makeup and and just kind of
what kind of prospect this kid really is
about to end up being and you’re
starting to see kind of the the torch
and being passed a little bit like it’s
not being pass anytime soon but at the
end of this year you see your guy Hagen
Smith and GLE has a guy to look at and
be like that’s what I need to strive to
be that’s what I need to do and to do it
he’s gonna have to bust his ass because
I mean Hagen Smith works as hard as
anyone on this team he’s continually
gotten better year and year out uh and I
think that’s that’s just it’s really
encouraging to have a guy like gcko
who’s that good as a freshman uh but
then also have the junior who has kind
of set the standard and laid out the
blueprint for what he can be now they’re
they’re not completely similar every way
I mean one’s left one’s right a little
bit different stuff and all that but I
just think from a makeup and from a you
know developing a prospect standpoint I
think there’s a lot of similarities
there and uh if you’re a hog fan that
should get you really really excited uh
by the way Arkansas the way they got
their two runs were uh walk walk hit by
pitch wild pitch sack fly so if you
wanted the offensive recap there it was
uh Now we move on to game two and uh
just from like the first
I mean so the first pitch Mason Molina
threw I maybe not the first pitch the
first batter he faced ball was going to
the back stop I think he threw two to
the back stop to the first hitter he
faced ends up walking him uh you could
tell right away like this something’s
going on like this isn’t your typical I
mean and Mason Molina is not a guy who’s
like uh Greg Maddox painting the corners
every single time anyway uh he’s his
command kind of comes and goes but he
ends up walking seven guys and three and
a third just would not recommend that
and uh walks are really not a thing that
I mean Arkansas after this weekend
Arkansas is now fifth uh fifth as in
best fifth least in terms of walks
during SEC
play uh so Mason Molina having seven and
three in a third AR only finished with
eight in that game thanks to Parker Cole
and Cody Frank uh just something that
you know you don’t see Arkansas’s
pitching staff do a ton I mean Mason
Molina had some struggles with command
here and there but he’s usually able to
still power through and get you into the
middle Innings there maybe only walk two
or three give up one or two runs or
whatever uh Parker Coyle saved him from
his line being much worse he ends up
going three and a third getting yanked
after 70 pitches Just the Two Hits two
runs which were helped by the seven
walks struck out three uh just a
disappointing outing from Mason Molina
like no disrespect I mean it just is
what it is like not a big deal we
shouldn’t overreact and freak out and
like try to switch up the rotation or
anything but you really want to see your
dudes show up and be dudes on the road
uh you know little bit concerning and
Parker Coyle did a decent job out of the
bullpen I thought of kind of calming the
situation down and getting Arkansas into
the game but then he started to run out
of gas there uh just doesn’t have the
stuff to really make guy make you know
hitters swing and Miss for long
stretches of time you’re kind of playing
with fire keeping him in there for more
than an inning or two uh and so you know
he he kind of he took Arkansas as far as
he could then he turns it over to Cody
Frank who did a really nice job uh out
of the bullpen goes two and two3 three
hits one run struck out three uh but
Arkansas
offensively just wasn’t able to you know
they had 12 hits which is unreal like
they were hitting the ball I mean pton
Stovall hit the first pitch of the game
up the middle for a base hit felt like
they had Runners on a lot uh but were
only able to turn it into one run only
worked three walks which is you know I
just mentioned they had 10 in game one
against South Carolina pitching only
three walks in this one which by the way
these those two games now Arkansas
scored two in the first game and three
in the second uh didn’t hit for power in
either of those games Arkansas did not
have
a I lied Arkansas did hit a home run
Peyton Stovall hit a home run completely
forgot about that the gorilla lives
we’ll take you know
what I completely forgot about that I
shouldn’t have forgot about it either
because it was a beautiful swing pton
stoval went I don’t even know if the
pitch was a strike it’s like a breaking
ball down below the he just goes down
and golfs it hits it to left center
field for a home run that was pretty
sick uh that was Arkansas’s only extra
base hit of that game too so I do want
to just turn the gun back to you guys
who always tell me that batting average
is the end all be all like oh if you
don’t have a good batting average you’re
not good and blah blah blah blah
Arkansas was 12 of 38 which is if my
math is correct over
300 uh but they didn’t draw any walks
didn’t hit for any power weren’t able to
really like it’s just it’s just not a
sustainable method to just hit the ball
to just get singles and just you’re just
trying to get base hits at all costs I
understand you would rather have 12 hits
than four hits I understand you would
rather get a base hit than get out I get
all that but this is why I always say to
you guys like there’s a lot more to
evaluating a team in their offense and
just overall production than batting
average and this why I think on base
percentage and slugging Ops I feel like
it’s just a much better uh way to
observe a baseball team and don’t say
that in like from a homer standpoint of
like Arkansas’s awesome Arkansas’s like
ninth and 10th in the SEC in on base and
slugging at this point so it’s not like
they’re they’re balling in that
department either but I think people see
that batting average being like 240 or
whatever in 238 in SEC play see that
they’re 13th above just Missouri and
they think that means Arkansas’s the
second worst offense in the SEC not
exactly true although right now they’ve
been they’ve been pretty bad but we did
I I’m sorry I’m sorry pton Stova and I’m
sorry our fellow Guerilla our our
beloved gorilla I forgot that we hit a
home run uh I’m sorry it happens but Ive
I’ve corrected my mistake now it’s just
100 eats missing um but anyways Arkansas
ends up losing six to3 game two uh
pretty crazy looking at the numbers
pyton stoval had three hits Ben McGloin
had a hit alloy had a hit Diggs had a
hit Wagner had a hit pton H hold had two
hits uh Ross lovic started and went two
for two and then gets pinch hit for
Jason Jones who goes 0 for three with
three strikeouts uh that’s a tough one
for the Jason Jones agenda for frankly
um Hudson White had a hit uh will Emmon
didn’t have a hit but he did get walked
once and did score a run and had a sack
fly uh so it’s like everybody on the in
the lineup had a pretty solid you know
there was production from literally
every single spot Arkansa just wasn’t
able to really turn it into any momentum
they weren’t able to flip the game back
in their favor as dvh says they couldn’t
get the big hit uh and so they lose six
to three and that was a long hour
between those two between because it was
a double header on Saturday here so
arkans loses that game six to three and
then there’s an hour before they play
the series finale it felt like seven
hours man it was just like not a good
vibe and look I wasn’t even at the park
I don’t know what the Vibes were like in
The Dugout I’d imagine a lot better than
they were on Twitter and on the Discord
chat uh but man it was like a it was
like you could feel the pressure a
little bit where I was like man
Arkansas’s going to have to show up in
this game if not it’s going to be a
little bit you know a little bit of a
tough pod on
Monday um but you know Arkansas comes
out out uh Brady tiger I want to say I
thought this was a big boy outing from
Brady tiger I thought it was like a not
like it wasn’t like the best we’ve ever
seen him it wasn’t you know oh his stuff
was Next Level it wasn’t you know we’ve
seen him pitch better but I thought just
given the circumstances and given the
stakes and given just how the outing
played out I thought it it was one of
the more impressive ones he’s ever put
together I was really encouraged by so
he ends up finishing he goes six hit six
Innings gives up four hits two runs
walks two strikes out six um so that’s a
quality start there like that’s I feel
like that’s pretty just standard across
the board but he had to battle and it
took the offense a long time to finally
get going I mean Arkansas only had let’s
see they end up scoring three runs in
that second inning to kind of get them
off the off the uh you know off the
ground a little bit uh they got a lot of
lot of help from South Carolina there
but Parker Roland comes through with a
huge two-run double um but then South
Carolina comes back with a run in the
bottom of the third inning and then in
the bottom of the fifth inning uh they
get a huge two-out swing from this dude
brindling who had never started a game
at South Carolina before this weekend
but he was killing Arkansas all weekend
uh it cuts the lead 3-2 and that’s in
the fifth inning and you’re kind of like
man I just I just I don’t know I don’t
know what’s going to happen here uh
Arkansas gets a run in the top of the
six from pton Hol which is a really
important one uh because it kind of you
know gets that run back that
respondibility that we always talk about
I I thought it was big and then tiger
comes back in the sixth inning and uh
gets three quick ground outs through
like seven pitches gets out it finishes
his outing up well I thought those
pitches were maybe the most important of
the game because anytime you score a run
whether it’s one run in the top of the
first or seven runs in the fifth or
whatever when you score a run there’s
just some momentum in your Dugout so
even if you’re down three to one and
your team scores a run to make it 3-2
there’s momentum that goes to your
dugout
and Arkansas getting that two-out single
from pton Hol who by the way pton Holt’s
an everyday player I’ll finish my tiger
rant here but pton Holt’s an everyday
player um but pton Holt gives Arkansas
that momentum right back with that 4-2
lead tiger going out there in the bottom
of the six and retiring the side in
order and not even giving South Carolina
a chance to like work back into it and
kind of like get that momentum right
back uh I thought that was a really
sneaky very important inning uh so it’s
4-2 going to the top of the seventh and
here’s how it went down Parker Rollins
walked on four pitches pyton stoval
singles up the middle for the 14th time
this weekend uh you know wild pitch
moves both of those guys up Ben mlin
singles uh drives home a run uh actually
that’s a
lie what happened here I guess they
brought in Edmonson I completely forgot
about this they brought in Edmonson to
pinch run for Roland so when stoval
singled Edmonson was at third he scores
on that uh then mlin makes it six to2
swinging uh base hit through the left
the left side of the field uh aloy hits
a little bloop single to right field
that brings home another run and then
digs comes through with a huge opposite
field double which I believe made it six
to2 at that point no it made it8 to2 at
that point sorry and that felt like a
pretty much a dagger there uh dig
starting to starting to come out of it a
little bit you know he’s banged up was
struggling there for a while he’s
starting to work his way back relax let
kindall digs do kindall digs stuff he’ll
be all right uh and then Arkansas you
know gets another base hit from pton
Holt who drives home another run makes
it 9-2 and obviously that was kind of
like the gut punch there uh and you know
South Carolina crawled their way back
into the game make it nine to6 against
will McIntyre and then gets a run of or
made it nine to5 against will McIntyre
gets a run of the ninth inning against
Gage wood when Arkansas was kind of
conceding that um but that that huge
explosion there in the seventh inning
obviously turned the game I thought
Brady Tiger’s effort to get Arkansas
deep into the game get them to the
seventh in uh and with a lead and
keeping it you know keeping South
Carolina from punching back and letting
it turn into a back and forth slugfest
you know no notes man I I love that out
outing from Brady tiger uh will McIntyre
not the best outing he hasn’t been sharp
here lately um I’m not super worried I’m
Mark me in the category of not super
worried about will
McIntyre um he’s a guy that just you
know he his margin for error is pretty
small CU he doesn’t have your blow away
play Fast he doesn’t have crazy stuff
that like you know you got to really get
him on the first pitch or anything like
teams you know teams are able to get
some comfortable swings against him
every now and then uh but we’ve seen
this dude show up time and time again in
big moments in the postseason in the SEC
when the games matter the most when the
lights are the brightest that’s when
will McIntyre shows up uh I still have a
lot of confidence in him getting the job
done for Arkansas I think you probably
should too uh but I’d be lying if if I
said I didn’t you know you want him to
pitch better you want every want your
team to always be playing well um but
you know for the most part I mean like I
said there was there were some good
moments from the series there were some
concerning moments there were some
developments that you’re like hey you
know this doesn’t this doesn’t look
great but I feel like Aransas is coming
into its own and we’ve always talked
about the lineup a lot uh and kind of
what’s going to happen like pretty much
every week we’re like who’s going to
play left who’s going to play Third
who’s going to catch who’s going to DH
like we don’t really know the answer to
these questions a ton uh I do feel like
Arkansas is finally starting to answer
some of that I do want to also point out
that Jared sprot was banged up uh
dealing with what dbh referred to as a
back issue that is why he didn’t start
any of these games although he did come
in as a defensive replacement a couple
times which I thought was
interesting uh so we got Nolan Souza’s
got his like first crack at third base
pton Hol also got a start there at third
uh I mentioned pton Hol thinking he’s an
everyday player I don’t know where you
play him every day if it’s left Center
third I feel like those are kind of the
options there I think pyton Hol needs to
be in the lineup every single day we’ve
kind of established that at this point
now we’ve we’ve we we saw what the
lineup was like without him we’ve
brought him back into the fold we see
he’s still still hitting he’s hitting
381 against SEC pitching he’s hitting
like 360 for the year uh Peyton Hol
needs to play every day like he’s one of
Arkansas’s more productive uh offensive
players U he brings a lot of energy
offensively defensively to The Dugout I
I don’t really understand the case
against him playing at this point
I think he’s probably your everyday left
fielder um but Ty wils only had two at
bats this weekend which tells you know
we we’ve talked about it a lot and uh
you know I know some people disagree
with me in the chat the other day I
don’t think they are super committed to
playing Tai whims everyday in center
field if he’s not going to hit at all um
now obviously he’s the best defender on
the team in out in the Outfield so I
think there’s still plenty of room for
him pinch run defensive you know
replacement late uh but if they are
going to have whether it’s Holton Center
or Edmonson and Center you know try to
get some more offense in that lineup I
think if nothing else pyton H needs to
be starting every day whether it’s left
third or Center you can probably mix and
match throughout a weekend you can have
them two starts and left one at third
two starts and left one in Center three
starts and left two at left one at DH I
don’t care get the dude in the lineup
every day we’ve seen enough uh and I
think Arkansas still has plenty of
pieces who are going to continue to help
them down the stretch I mean even
freaking Parker Rolland coming through
with the two-run double uh or I guess it
was just a you know one- run double but
coming through with the big hit that
kind of got the lid off the basket for
this offense uh you know that’s what
that’s what’s make that’s what makes
this team so fun to watch is it it
really does feel like a full group
effort full Melting Pot here of all
these dudes kind of pitching in doing
their part uh but just going through the
the numbers there in game three a little
bit stoval had a hit mlin had a hit
alloy had a hit Diggs had two hits two
doubles Souza had a hit huge double uh
hit that ball like at least 150 miles an
hour uh to the opposite field pton Hol
had two hits once again Parker Roland
had the big hit uh and Ross Lage Drew
three walks Ross loic had some good at
bats this weekend man uh so maybe he’s
the guy you throw in left field you have
holdt in Center I don’t know I don’t
care uh but just keep pton holding that
lineup we we we we need to do that at
this point like we need to I think we’re
all on the same page like nobody wants
to see this Arkansas team play without
pton Holt it didn’t really make a ton of
sense while we why we had to do that for
two months but looks like we’re back it
looks like we’re back and we’re good
here uh so that’s always that’s
encouraging and I feel like Arkansas is
closer to settling on like their
established everyday lineup I don’t
think you’re ever going to get to a
point where it’s just hey here are nine
guys they’re going to start three days
in a row that’s what it is I think
there’s always going to be a little bit
of mixing and matching but the the roles
are be becoming a little bit more
definitive here down the stretch and uh
that’s always good to see and I love I
love Jason Jones that’s my guy uh I
think he’s getting left out here because
I think he just has not hit an SEC play
has not hit consistently and you know
other guys are starting to kind of put
it together I really like Ross lich’s
ABS we’ll see you know against
right-handed pitching we’ll see if they
throw him in there and even Ty wism is a
guy who is hitting I guess like under
200 now for the year isn’t you know has
had moments in his career he’s not that
bad I think there’s still room for him
to get plenty of starts and have some
moments here down the stretch but
overall offensively for
Arkansas pretty average uh not going to
away but you can at least see the vision
of like how this offense could be good
uh and I I still think there’s room for
this team to get hot down the stretch a
little bit now when I say hot I’m not
expecting them to just start hitting you
know scoring 10 runs a game or anything
crazy like that but I mean I mean if I
just read you these names stoval mlin
alloy Diggs soua Holt uh even sprag glot
loic like these are guys that you feel
pretty solid about at the plate no you
know you feel pretty good when those
guys I just listed are at the plate uh
the perfor like the overall numbers
don’t really match the potential and
what you think the production should be
but I’m absolutely not going to rule out
that this offense can do enough down the
stretch to you know win the whole damn
thing and I think we also it’s just we
have to give you a weekly reminder here
that this offense doesn’t have to be
that good I mean I read you the numbers
last you know a couple weeks ago of LSU
what they did in Omaha uh all the the
College World Series is not typically
home to many slugfests uh so so I don’t
expect Arkansas to be in a position
where they’re going to have to slug
their way to annati especially now with
this pitching staff in a big ballpark
like TD mer TR is and I think Arkansas
is going to be really tough to beat at
home so you know we can argue about
pieces we think should be performing
more and have there been plenty of
concerning little developments that
we’ve seen throughout the year hell yeah
there have been uh even this weekend
there was plenty of concerning
developments do I trust that this
offense is going to show up every single
game absolutely not without a doubt no
but I think when you still when you take
a step back and still look at it through
a big picture
standpoint uh I don’t see anyone coming
into bomb Walker and beating Arkansas
twice in one weekend uh at least not
this year not with this pitching staff
and just not with the vibe this team has
I mean they’ve won 20 25 straight at
home we’ll see if they can keep that
going but in a regional weekend
especially if Arkansas’s able to end up
securing a top you know three or four
their their path should be pretty you
know not easy but it’s never easy but
you know they should you know you
shouldn’t have to face a a team like TCU
if you’re the number one number two
overall seed uh even though they’re
number three overall seed last year and
TCU I should clarify wasn’t that great
in the regular season last year which is
why it was kind of just a perfect storm
of them ending up in Arkansas’s Regional
and what are you going to do uh but I
just don’t see Arkansas losing a
regional at home again this year and I
don’t expect anyone beating them in a
Super Regional especially not a team
that’s going to be in that 14 to 16
range uh you know maybe bumped up to 12
like I just don’t see any of those teams
you know outside of the top 10 having a
real shot I mean I think Arkansas would
be like minus 350 against literally
anyone from 10 to 15 in a Super Regional
at home which they are on track to to
have uh and so if you just look at it
from that standpoint it’s like Arkansas
should get to Omaha with the talent with
the pitching staff with the home field
advantage they should get to Omaha and
then yeah Arkansas it’s going to be a
struggle for Arkansas to hit away from
home but it’s like you’re not going to a
Road Park it’s a little bit different
everyone else is dealing with the same
circumstances being away from home being
in a big ballpark uh but not everyone
has to face Arkansas’s pitching staff or
I mean Arkansas doesn’t have to face
everyone’s pitch or Arkansas doesn’t
have to face its own pitching staff
everyone else has to face theirs you
know so I’m not again I’ve I’ve come
full circle all the way where I’m saying
like hey this team could still win the
national title this team could still win
the national title like and if need any
more convincing like you’re I don’t I
don’t know you know I just don’t know
what to tell you I’m not saying they’re
going to do it with their offense like I
understand that the offense has been
underwhelming and is underachieving but
I still think we need to be realistic
about kind of what’s going on here and
what the goal is like what they need to
do the offense doesn’t have to be that
good if they can score five runs a game
in Omaha they’re going to have a chance
to uh cut down the Nets um but guys uh
let’s also now I guess it’s time for
everyone’s favorite segment uh let’s
just take a quick little peek at the SEC
what was going on in the SEC this week
as you can see behind me there uh there
is a little there’s there’s the
standings here we’ll move out of the
way Florida there at 8 and 10 I wanted
to make sure I could y’all could see
that one uh
Florida it’s that’s gonna be a big
series man for Arkansas versus Florida
who just lost a series to vanderbild uh
did not get swept on the road which is
you know no shame in losing a series to
bu in Nashville but Florida is in a
situation where like they kind of have
to play well against Arkansas like if
Arkansas were to put together an awesome
weekend of play and sweep Florida and
extend their home win streak to
28 which by the way is very on the table
Arkansas plays really well at home they
could sweep anyone at home if they were
able to to get by this Florida team and
sweep them the Gators would be in
serious serious serious trouble of
missing this NCA tournament which is
freaking crazy considering this a team
that was in the National Championship
Series last year and brought back a lot
of key pieces offensively and
defensively have a coach who’s been
there time and time again has been there
has as much talent as just about anyone
in the country top to bottom on their
roster this is a their their backs are
against the wall uh and I think Arkansas
is frustrated with the way that they’ve
been playing as well which makes me
think we were going to be in for a
freaking treat this weekend uh with that
series there at home but uh I mentioned
Florida you know loses game one to
Vanderbilt 10 to5 uh in game two
Vanderbilt wins 5-2 Florida was able to
step back uh Step Up on I guess it was
Saturday night yeah it was Saturday they
played and win six to2 to salvage you
know one win from the series which
frankly was a very big win for Florida
because they they need everyone they can
get at this point in time uh pretty nice
pretty nice performance from Vanderbilt
who isn’t you know bad but they haven’t
been super impressive all week all year
it seems like they just kind of do what
they need to do on a given weekend I
mean they’re 10 and8 in SEC play have
had some questionable results but for
the most part you know they’re they’re
pretty solid I mean hell they’re a team
in that 10 to 15 range we’re talking if
we’re talking about Super Regionals of
who Arkansas would be favored against I
think if Arkansas played Vanderbilt in a
series right now at bomb Walker Stadium
we’d feel we’d feel pretty good about it
right uh but moving on a little bit A&M
gez man freaking A&M was down five to
nothing the last time I was in this room
and recording a podcast on Friday we
were doing a live show and uh Alabama
took a 5 nothing lead against A&M and
people were kind of talking about it in
the chat and then A&M scores six runs in
the fifth end up winning 10 to five in
that game one uh you know just a little
bit of a gut punch there they turn
around double header dominate that one
win 18 to n in game two on Friday uh and
then sou and then Alabama was able to
win I believe it was 10 to n let me
check this real quick yeah they wi 10 to
n uh on Saturday to avoid a
sweep man that was that’s an impressive
Series win for A&M on the road uh they
did something that Arkansas wasn’t able
to do and I think when you just think
about the differences between Arkansas
and A&M A&M doesn’t have Arkansas’s
pitching staff but Arkansas doesn’t have
A&M’s lineup uh I really look forward to
that series or That season ending series
uh in the final regular season series of
the weekend or of the year for Arkansas
at College Station mark your calendars
man that’s going to be a fun one I can’t
wait to watch that one play out they’re
the number one and two’re they’re
they’re the top two teams in the country
at this point I think Tennessee is
really good I think ky’s really good I
think there’s a few other teams you can
make a case for in there but I think
Arkansas and A&M are number one and
number two for a reason and uh man A&M
another really impressive weekend at the
office for those guys uh the LSU Tigers
one game one against Missouri 12 to1
then they dropped game two blue El late
uh and then LSU was able to get a win in
game three win that series which gets
LSU to 5 and
13 I think those those are that series
was more about who’s going to go to
Hoover and who’s not because I think I
mean as of right if the season ended
right now Missouri would still go to
Hoover Uh I think Auburn is clearly not
going to Hoover it’s just it’s gotten
away from them and uh I was asked Friday
if I think Butch Thompson’s going to be
fired I still am not sure he is but man
if they continue to snowball I mean they
haven’t won a game in a minute you know
they’re they’re really uh they’re
struggling here uh it’s tough I think
they’re clearly not going to make it to
Hoover and then I think LSU and Missouri
it’s going to end up coming down to one
of those maybe Old Miss could get in
there in that mix but man all I’m going
to say is like it better be Missouri
because if it’s LS if it’s LSU that
misses
Hoover my best friends are not going to
want to be in a group message with me
I’m going just say that and Old Miss
that’s when you fire biano right there
if you miss it and you you don’t make it
to Hoover that would be a tough one uh
it better be Missouri just for those fan
bases sake cuz Missouri it’s no I mean
they don’t even know Hoover exists like
if they miss Hoover it’s not like
nobody’s even going to know uh so that
that actually be kind of Ideal and I
feel like LSU and ear Miss they might
even be able to apply for a waiver if
they end up below Missouri be like hey
they don’t even know this tournament
exists you could just send us it’s fine
but uh as you can see there’s just a lot
of a lot of high pressure in the SEC as
you look around I mean Arkansas’s
worried about are they going to score 10
runs on a game or not you would much
rather be in Arkansas shoes than some of
these bums down here just want to like
point that out uh by the way
Georgia so let me make sure I’m getting
this
right hold on here so Georgia and ol
Miss played in Athens Georgia takes game
one
7-2 uh all Miss takes game two three to2
and then Georgia comes back on Saturday
oh let me I’m messing this up so
bad ah no no no Georgia won game one
17-6 17-6 run rule those dudes in eight
Innings then they won game two as well
Georgia wins I believe it was 7 to2 is
that what I just said yeah 7 to2 Miss is
able to salvage it and avoid a sweep
winning three to2 on uh Sunday which
really you know keeps Old Miss alive in
terms of uh you know kind of working
their way back and they’re not going to
make the tournament but they can at
least get to Hoover they can at least
avoid the the real the real shame the
real Walk of Shame of just not being
able to go to Hoover uh so that’s a
little bit
I mentioned the Tennessee Kentucky
series uh we will just go through that
here for a quick second so Kentucky wins
game one 5 to3 and I bet on Tennessee in
that game fun fact and at that moment I
was just like you know what screw
Kentucky man like they’re just they’re
they’re good I’m done doubting them it
is what it is like tip my cap to him
like it is you know Kentucky is a good
baseball team and then of course they
lose game two 9 to4 on Saturday and they
come back yesterday and just a back and
forth chaotic game three that uh
Tennessee ends up winning
13-1 you know kuy’s pitching staff going
into the weekend was very close to uh to
Arkansas they are no longer in that
range uh statistically after getting a
little bit roughed up off Tennessee I
that was really fun to see though just a
two two high level teams two top five
teams slugging it out um you know very
very intriguing stuff but we’ll see if
that starts we’ve been waiting for the
the other shoe to drop with Kentucky I
wouldn’t say this is that because I mean
losing a series to to Tennessee even at
home there’s no shame in that but uh you
know we’ll see if if Kentucky is able to
bounce back and just get right back to
kicking ass or not we’ll see but uh
let’s see did I miss any other series oh
yeah uh Mississippi State swept
Auburn there you go that’s um that’s
what happened there and I believe that
is all of the SEC games uh was was a
productive weekend of baseball for a lot
of teams and I think Arkansas I mean
it’s it’s nice when you take a step back
and you’re able to see some of these
other teams and what they’re going
through week to week because it feels
like the end of the world for Arkansas
especially with this fan base and just
the way they live and die with every
moment uh but when you take a step back
and really look at the SEC and you see
the bigger picture and see what some of
these other teams are going through uh
and good teams too like teams that
aren’t bad like LSU andz are not bad
teams uh Florida’s not a bad team but
it’s just it’s just hard to win in this
league consistently arkel has been able
to do it and I think that should be
commended
uh so ultimately guys I appreciate you

  1. Glad we won so Andrew can keep doing lives before the series opener. Back to back series losses would’ve been a bad baumbastic curse

  2. I go to all the home games. I was in the stands sitting next to a fan during the Ole Miss series, 2nd game I believe, this was his first game he had attended and hadn't really been following the Hogs. He was insufferable for the first several innings…complaining about strikeouts and not hitting. About the 3rd or 4th inning….I mentioned to him that there is a game within the game. We were taking pitches to get to their bullpen. I told him about the 4th to the 7th, we'll have that big inning, get into their pen….and that's what happened….That's the formula. It's also a 3 game series, not one game, a lot of fans don't get that concept….Can our batting get better…sure….I don't think we've seen their best. Our outfield is struggling to hit. Obviously…the Aggie series is going to be a great test. The Aggies can hit….but they also give up a lot of runs. The real test is tournament time….and we're built for tournaments. WPS

  3. Thanks Andrew, hope to see a Friday Live again as we get ready to whip Florida. Whos the player to watch in the midweek tomorrow, and what about for this weekend? Im gonna go with Ben Bybee as a bounce back from last tuesday and I look for Stovall to have a big weekend!

  4. Parker Rowland is the Hudson Clark of baseball. Once in a blue moon has a decent game (Ole Miss 2020, although everyone and their grandma in the stadium were getting a pick that day), but every season they have piss poor numbers. Batting below .200 past 2 seasons and throwing balls over 3rd baseman's head = 30 tackles and 1 pick a season for the last 2 seasons.

  5. Hog Twitter is nothing but fat, Mountain Dew drinking incels that the only time their heart rate gets above 90 bpm is when their mom buys them a candy bar.

  6. It does feel like the casual Arkansas baseball fans are Natty or bust every year. I get it because Dave usually puts together an elite team, but people really do need to just take a step back and enjoy the ride. The stuff our pitching staff is doing is crazy.

  7. I'm loving this season the ultimate statistic is our record. However, your key comment was the offense is underachieving. Do we see enough pieces come together down the stretch of the season to improve enough to become competent offensively? It's definitely possible, and I think it's more probable that guys like Diggs, Alloy, and Souza start to catch a little fire, especially in the power department. We'll see what happens, but like you, I'm still in the middle, LOL
