Tiger Woods’ Chip on 16 | Iconic Masters Moments

It is one of the most memorable shots in Masters history, as Tiger Woods makes a near impossible shot on Hole No. 16 on his way to the 2005 Masters Green Jacket. #theMasters

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

  1. This was by far the best shot I have ever witnessed in the game of golf in the sense that it was no accident or even luck. I will not only never forget it but remember exactly where and what I was doing when it happened. Tiger was magic.

  2. Been watching the Masters for over 40 years dating back to the early 80s, and this and Larry Mize’s shots I’ll never forget! Phils shot from the pine straw, and Bubba’s shot from the woods in the playoff are right up there too!

  3. Awful tee-shot to leave it there! But watching him calculate and re-calculate the spot he wanted it to spin, stop and fall down the hill was awesome-and then he executed it to mm perfection

  4. That is the greatest shot in Tiger's career. He has other great shots before but this one tops all. Great camera work too!

  5. To this day im still in awe by this…i wish i got to see this man play in his prime, im was too young…what were these years like??
