I have heard Mike C tell this story about Babcock a few times. And every time, it's almost 98%.The exact same story.So you know he is telling the truth one hundred percent..

i came to hear him shit on Babcock. Was not disappointed
Being a Wings fan I always felt Babcock cheated the fans just the same Commodore was the kind of player Detroit fans liked. Played with grit. Fan favorite players were treated like dirt (Chelios & Franzen) Modano being a hometown guy getting benched not getting 1500 in his hometown. It was clear as a coach he didn't respect players or fan base for that matter. Yes he won a cup in Detroit but I always felt that Detroit had more to give with a better coach. IMHO
Don't mind listening to him but his rants against Babcock are pretty much the only defining characteristics he leaves as his legacy.
