That great man who was one of the best Venezuelan Sports narrator : Delio Amado León told an anecdote of Pete Rose in the ocassion that David Concepción invited some of the team players to enjoyed a lunch in his house because He was coocking a beef soup like the one we coock in Venezuela ( sopa de hueso de rabo – I do not know how to say in English ) , when Pete saw what He was coocking he said he was not going to eat THAT , Concepción told him to wait untill He tasted : He loved it so much .

I grew up in Pittsburgh as a Pirates fan and hated every time they played the Reds because Pete Rose could beat you any time. But I'm so glad I got to see him play as much as I did. The greatest ball player ever. And a Hell of a guy too.
