Give me your comments this week in terms of who you like for the Valero Texas open okay last week I had Scotty Sheffer finished tied second I also had uh who else did I have Taylor Moore and Taylor Moore also finished second of course it’s Steve second place Bamford in full

Effect in 202 4 we did get at each way money back at 70 to1 on Taylor Mo so it wasn’t a complete an utter wash out but that is golf betting isn’t it right let’s take you through this week’s Valero Texas open played on The Oaks

Course the uh TPC San Antonio we’ve been coming here for donkeys years this of course is the curtain jerker the curtain Razer for the 2024 Masters right a Greg Norman 2009 design I classify is a Texas golf course it is midcore in length and is long in length uh Texas golf courses

This one in particular lots and lots of not all you know pretty much wide Fairways we are looking at this week at 29 yards wide at 300 yards carry so they’re not they’re not thin Fairways but if you go off the beat and track here and if you go past the actual sort

Of main rough outside of the ropes you are in serious trouble trouble here I do like gritty sorts this week this is a kind of golf course where you can actually make Strokes gained off the te by physically hitting lots of Fairways so short short to medium and straight

Does gain off the tea this week because a lot of the guys that are taking a lot of drivers and are spreading it soon get into plenty of trouble be that rocks be that cat be that bushes there’s all manner of problems here on The Oaks

Course uh 64 sand bunkers 35 Acres of Fairway the Agronomy perennial Ry grass and chewing Fescue the rough is Ry grass and chewing Fescue up to about 2 in in length the greens for the length of the golf course being it 7,438 yards the greens are 6,400 square

Ft so pretty average in terms of the size of the green so a par 72 measuring 7,438 yards this week if you are looking for other Greg Norman designs you can check out the Earth course where they play the DP World Tour Championship on the DP World Tour every year Maya Cobra

Classic used to feature El chameleon and of course the signature course at vidanta where they have played the Mexico open since 2022 weather for this week now Texas golf it’s synonymous with wind we had it for uh Friday Saturday and Sunday last week in Houston that kept the scores

Very honest 12 under winning don’t see as much wind in the forecast this week the gusting day looks like Saturday 30 mil hour the temperatures are at 21° C for Saturday which is 70 fahit uh uh Friday we are looking at 20 mph gusts Thursday and Sunday pretty damn quiet

Temperatures 26 to 27° C 79 to 81° fah so warm apart from the Saturday no real rain in the forecast what you tend to get here in terms of agronomy and what you tend to get here in terms of core setup is the fact that um plenty of run on the fairways and

They water the greens so that’s I’m sure exactly what we’ll get you might get Sunday potentially where they don’t water them because they know isn’t going to be a lot of wind might get a tiny bit more release on the Sunday whether it gets to being able to classify as firm

Of shorter nuggety sorts they’re the ones I’m after this week so average it through of those that made the cut the Champions and this and then we accumulate it across Strokes going off the T8 Strokes going on approach seventh so Strokes going ball striking Strokes G

Around the green 31st this is not the Val SP Championship that Copperhead a couple of weeks ago Strokes T to Green Third very important but it’s made up of off the te and approach Strokes game patting 18th nowhere near The Strokes game putting in balance that we saw last

Year when last week at Memorial part there were pretty much Strokes game TT T to green and pting were dead level in terms of toall contribution from a Strokes game perspective this is far more off the T te to Green warish P uh Cory Connor 40 first for strokes game

Putting last year he was also 26th the year that he won in 2019 but then again you do get Jordan Speed who blasts every known uh set of Statistics into the into the uh into the into the universe he was third for ta to Green made up of fourth
