We’re here with the real reel on the brand new Jordan 9 so for this review we’re going to be looking at three main categories we’re going to first start off with the design then we’re going to dig deep into the performance and for this performance review we’re going to be talking about both indoor use and outdoor on the
Course and finally we’re going to look at Value so we’re going to kick things off with the design obviously basketball shoe brought into the golf space but funny enough not the first interpretation into a cleat for the Jordan 9 it was originally introduced back in ’93 as a baseball cleat so you
Know Jordan had some experience there with that experience they brought in a really nice looking cleat onto the bottom obviously nothing overly complex nothing overly unique but super functional super smart and so yeah results in a really beautiful looking sole on the shoe and kind of speaking about the sole
A touch bulky as you would expect from a basketball shoe you know keep in mind these shoes were designed to have those bases to withstand impact of jumping on hardwood and so you can imagine having that Comfort out on the golf course actually translates really nicely um one
Thing to keep in mind is if you’re a guy like me I’m only about 5’8 adding an extra quarter half an inch to my uh to my height gave me a bit of a new look on my drive I’ll leave it at that felt a
Little taller I wish I was a little bit taller I wish I was a baller I wish I had a girl who L good I would caller but most notably I designed sneakers doesn’t matter but when I sit down to design something what I draw is literally I think it’s literally a
Combination of everything that I’ve done and seen and experienced in my life it just comes back out he actually chose a shoe to be featured uh outside of the United Center on uh a statue dedicated to Michael Jordan and a big reason for that was the original shoe was inscribed
With a bunch of international words at the bottom the real purpose of that was to kind of show the global representation of MJ and so kind of missing that from this one uh it would have been cool if they somehow Incorporated that maybe into the insole
Or maybe on the tongue there was an opportunity to do that but in terms of paying homage to the original Tinker design I mean you’re talking a 10 out of 10 when we look at our next category we’re talking about performance now I was lucky I was able to take these both
Indoors at our beautiful Sim here at pce of play and of course at the golf course we’re out at Cardinal Golf Course here in Toronto thanks man let’s go any any like slippage in the shoe or like like you’re swinging so in the past especially with the Jordan Ones when the grass is a little bit you know on the wetter side I have found that I lose that back foot or
My front foot quite a bit Yeah on rotation here zero rotation pull the cleats not holding up too hard feels money and uh they look kind of dope too first sand trap of the day see how the JS feel oh this feels like quicksand over
Here but grip is good I feel nice and sturdy see if I can pick this out so I was about 15 yards away there I really tried to get under it but on this wetter sand it’s difficult to get under it but shoes felt really stable felt in
Control of the whole swing just need to come down better on the on the ball itself the JS are feeling really amazing grip has been awesome the whole round I have noticed that the base of the shoe does provide about another quarter to half inch to my height
And so it’s actually allowing me to see over the ball much easier on my Putter and I already like looking over the top of the ball so this is actually kind of helping me and you can see again like just it just gels really nicely with the
Green oh baby did all right the Jay’s feel wise are going to be high up there they’re looking at a 10 out of 10 right now what I’m really surprised about is Comfort throughout the round didn’t have to adjust my swing at all to the feel of
The new kicks and other than them maybe being a little warm right now so my feet might smell a little bit uh they’re feeling fresh we did play quite a bit of wet grass out here no wetness inside my socks at all so I’m going to head back
To Pace shortly uh show you a little before and after you know took a beating not too bad and I will say for 27 holes rocking these right out of the box box uh I’m a 10 1/2 ordered a 10 1/2 true to size felt absolute money I mentioned the
27 holes just because after the round no cramps no blisters none of that nonsense that you kind of experience with some of these new shoes overall Comfort performance again they just crushed it I can’t give them a full 10 out of 10 because I didn’t see enough Innovation
On the cleat um and I will say traction was solid but again it could be taken to that next level of innovation this is an 8 out of 10 10 on the performance last but certainly not least I’m going to touch on value you know value with all
These kicks is really subjective but when you get into more of a collaboration more of an interpretation like the sneakers uh coming into the golf space you know the Jordan 9 fits so many different types of collectors um it’s guys like me who love to wear these
Kicks out on the course it’s people who want these as part of their collection because they collect Jordans or you just want you know the freshest kicks that are out there and it’s an a style plates an aesthetic plates a it’s almost like a piece of view and when you’re looking at
That and you’re trying to interpret value you know these retail for about 230 us uh closer to 300 here in Canada um it’s kind of it’s more of a almost an emotional purchase at that point and so for me the value is kind of we’re going
To put that one to the side for this one and uh I mean just look at these things the Space Jams they’re going to come out in a bunch of different colorways let us know which color is you want to see me personally I want to see those unc’s the
Baby blues rocking maybe with the tar Hills Jersey out on the course who knows let’s see what happens last thing to leave you with would I cop it or drop it I got to give props to Jordan all these interpretations from sneaker into golf shoes are becoming
