[Applause] well there you have it a pretty simple and seamless yeah threaded the needle nicely dear Fernandez I find the return position of Fernandez really interesting because even though those serves are coming at north of 170 km an hour it’s still quite an aggressive positioning isn’t it it’s [Applause]
Better little bit of loose swinging there for Parks I mean to me she does but the feet just look a little sluggish and maybe just yeah that’ll do [Applause] nicely well done that’s about her Court positioning here you can just see up in the court now this one pretty short and
Can be hit back behind that’s better play isn’t it just a little bit more assertiveness and self-belief on that maybe excellent onew [Applause] tennis that’s great play just stretching the court there and that’s the one that did the damage backhand crosscourt just opening this one
Up and a minor blip and focus seals the deal for Alicia parks around the world it’s better good preparation there stays low [Applause] and gets very early into that preparation position there very similar to the Williams sisters where they got the hands back quickly that’s the first point of the match [Applause] That well a very big twist in the tail of this and in her debut Australian Open appearance she takes the first set against the 32nd seed and what a Twist in the tail this was she was down a [Applause] break that’s better this Parks was a
Long way behind the Baseline the Gap was in the front section of the court I think this is what she’s got to do more of just start to really mix it up a little o that bounced a little bit higher luckily she was able just to let
That come down a little bit more assertively I think she could be very dangerous on the grass hope that doesn’t blow on top of her head that skirt is a very light fabric yeah that’s a lovely [Applause] return that’s the type of tennis that I thought
We were going to be watching Today l as well they’ve came to watch this match they’ve come to watch this match to see more of this from Leila a young country woman beautiful te just haven’t seen enough of that today great play from [Applause] Fernandez now this is the the kind of
Serving that’s been really eluding this young player here Lea Fernandez she’s a lefty and she likes to swing that ball wide open up the court and then this backand down the line we just saw that shot that she miss missed oh think she should have perhaps
Let that one just drift long little bit of a breeze down there oh my goodness should have recognized the end of this match she should be in the locker room now this one this was in a perfect position here oh well there she has it gets there
Eventually two 75 64 took her a couple of attempts but into the third round she goes for the very first time well what a phenomenal turnaround here for Alicia Parks the American up against the more highly ranked player of Players

Serena is that you?!
I can see serena in her groundstrokes
Needs to work on her footwork as it affects your timing on the groundstrokes. I see her shanking a lot of balls for this reason because her footwork is way to relaxed. If she can learn to stay off her heels and move her feet constantly it'll help her power game immensely.
Looks like serene Williams back…
New Alycia Parks fan here, can’t believe she had to win in match point #3 that took a lot. Such compact and directed swings.
I still don’t like her! If she was herself, I would!
Alycia : New Serena
Coco : New Venus
Mirra : New Sharapova
I hope she works on her ground strokes and second serve. Having a plan b and improving her consistency will make this year better than last.
Parks first serve is insane
Get money Parks! Looking fierce 🎉
patay mga seeded player pulos pildi sa mga baguhan😢😢😢
commentator "..very similar to the Williams sister there where she got the hands back…" commenting on Alycia Parks. Hmm what, really?
Well done Alicia.
Future number one 😊
She still can get a bit more squared in her return stance towards the court. She also will be exploited by more aggressive return stances from the top players who split step into the court. Leylah played below par so Parks in the right place at the right time RN. She'll learn to take the ball much earlier on her return as she develops more hopefully with better coaching.
Let's go Parks ❤❤❤. That serve is LETHAL 🔥🔥🔥
This is my first time seeing Alycia Parks and I like what I see! It will be interesting to see the match up with Coco. I personally enjoy Parks's style way better than Coco's defensive tennis. But Coco may have an advantage, simply because she has more experience…and is familiar with Parks's style. I definitely want to see more from Parks. Finally, a player who doesn't just get the ball back and wait for an unforced error.
I feel like the crowd is being extremely partisan in favour of Leylah for reasons only they can explain.
Alicia played far better than Leylah but somehow they seem to want her to lose.
I can't wait to see more from Parks. I love her ground strokes. I think she needs to play doubles as well to get net game skills. But very impressive against the firecracker that Fernandez is. Kudos!
Parks made a lot of progress. Maybe, a rising star. Well done. I will see her again. 👏👏❤❤
( A french west indian. Martinique)
strong serve from park
Great performance by Alycia Parks, whose play has been inconsistent lately❤
All or nothing with Parks.
There is no medium.
This no name player did good against Leylah. She has grand slam potential if she can maintain this form.
3:46 Park's serve for the set looked way out.
I even slowed it down – didn't see it anywhere near the line 🤷♂
She reminds me of Serena. Awesome player. So talented. Love watching her game.
Serena’s daughter
Parks is so young and pretty
Leylah lost more than Alycia won IMO
Her style like serena
is it me or does Parks play a similar game to S. Williams: her preparation and all
shes going to be great
Her fierce attitude will give her so much for tennis! Hope she can build momentum on her career. Women’s tennis still have so many ups & downs! 🫣
Parks here look like Serena's style. Very beautiful.
Her serving style, her outfit the tule skirt, her hairstyle everything reminds me of me the GOAT SERENA WILLIAMS !!!! Even her waving style 😮
The last time I watched Alycia play, I thought, ' aside from the serve, what the heck was she doing? ' Now, this match shows me, she really worked on her game. congrats to her.
Very impressive.
alycia’s idol is definitely serena… as it should be!
Thought this was an easy win for Leylah. First set should’ve closed up quickly. Well done Parks.
I like the fact that she moves forward quite a lot.
😂😂😂…Another one they want to bite the dust!!😮😮 Keep going sis!!!..
Parks needs to move a little on the court and she will be serena's replacement 😂
She has that serena fierce.. she'll get better and then we will all be finished.
I noticed some improvements since last year, including a smoother backswing on the service motion and keener senses on coming to net. Keep up the great work! 👍🏾
Wait…did Alicia Parks just serve at 196 km/h? (122.5 mph). WOW!
On of lol type player in tennis history no control in ball
