Point like four shot lead always looks big man there’s so much golf to play on a golf course that the punishments are usually Two Strokes not one Strokes when you hit a really you know one stroke when you hit a bad shot it can change really really quickly he is leading the

Field in Strokes game putting uh he he’s not just leading he’s like obliterating the field buting I think he was third yesterday and first today like it’s it’s it’s he’s rolling it right now that is exactly right third with three Strokes gained on in round

Almost tend to point like at some kind of uh weaker venues you know guys that just can can totally bomb and gouge and take over weaker venues that don’t really have a defense to them uh and and kind of classify somebody like that but man not the places he’s doing it I mean

Qu Hollow does kind of fit that category but LACC didn’t Pebbles completely different profile me top of this last night and Bay Hill completely different profile and TBC obviously an extremely different profile I think it’s just time to say like I mean I I’ll say this right

Now I think winham Clark right now is the second best player in the world like Scotty’s a clear cut number one but Windam I would not put anyone else above Windham right here right now you’d put him ahead of ROM as soon as I said that

I was like damn it second best player on the PGA tour I’ll say that I think you know I’m such a big live fan I have to stick up for the live guys Sor I didn’t see what ROM did in live Hong Kong uh like but I mean Windham is playing

Better golf right now than uh no that was last week oh real wait what sorry windham’s played better golf than ROM in 2023 that’s not up for debate I mean if windham’s winning PJ tour events Ram is not winning Live Events like that’s that’s there’s a big big difference

Between those two things but um wind he’s still 40 to one for the Masters like the as of the last I looked I mean how much more do people need to see to see that this guy’s a big- time player he’s literally never played there though

You see today where he was talking about how he purposely decided to not go visit Augusta until qualified which is pretty sick yeah I like that block that block seems like it pops up like once once a year once every couple years like I’m not playing till I qualify for the

Tournament that’s a good one I’d like to think if I was ever a tour player I would I would Embrace that block I I I do Embrace that block I I think all three of us Embrace that ball you know until we get to compete there time is

Out of respect I won’t touch the Stanley Cup until I win the stle cup and I won’t play Augusta until I qualify yeah windham’s windham’s an interesting one I I was thinking about it today and you know should he go on to win we can maybe have a little bit more

And I I do agree with that but it also is interesting to watch him win by five and to watch him shoot under par every day and to like a lot of this stuff is so results based and that’s where I think it is with Windom is like

If he’s a guy that goes out and wins once a year then he kind of becomes like a Xander type of like oh nice player really good player hell yeah but like I don’t know that there’s too many people wearing like Xander t-shirts right whereas like it’s more interesting to

Left it’s I think like the rder cup shook me a little bit because I was like oh maybe this dude isn’t like gonna be the next great player and then he comes out this year and just starts kicking ass like oh wait like I now I remember like success actually doesn’t just go

All I was having lunch with my friends today played a little golf this morning having lunch with my friends and they were like hey man like what do you think about the blow Pig and I was like what and they’re like yeah yeah the blow Pig

And I was like I have no [ __ ] idea what you’re talking about they’re like oh you know when you make the Emojis like wind ham like the Emojis of the wind blowing and then like a pig is blowing like that’s what we call wind man the blow Pig I was like

Augusta uh live show moment I think um right behind him we have uh noted kill Xander Schley we have Nick Taylor the Canadian uh there at 10 underpar Fitzpatrick and Maverick mcne at nine underpar we didn’t get really good chance to talk about this last night with Fitzpatrick and that um he

Had put weights in the grips of his irons as via Shane Ryan put weights uh in the grips of his irons in 2023 he tried it for several weeks and decid didn’t like it um all sorry liked it and then added it to his driver and marchie

Decided he didn’t want the weights in anymore and took them out but forgot about the driver until pH is that Phoenix of this year that he forgot about it it was more than a year yeah so a lot of people a lot of like why were

You driving it so bad for the last year he’s like well check this check it out I had a bunch of Weights in my grips to him for telling that story yeah be like this is really dumb I saw someone was like well you know you won twice

Like you you couldn’t have been that bad and he’s like yeah but I probably would have won four times if I didn’t have these like weights in my driver I follow him for a few holes today and it honestly like no pun intendant to either

Of this it looked like he had just taken the weights off the donut off of a weighted bat he’s swinging it so fast so fast even like his takeaway like you could hear the sound of it on the T boox and he was playing it was like Mario

Kart golf it was like when you when Mario gets the star and the music starts playing really fast like he was playing really fast he was just stepping up and pounding these drivers on every hole way down there like it was just it was a 10 out of 10 maximum confidence on every

Single shot of course I had to put the Tweet out of course when he gets to four he hits it right into the water and makes double so I again I apologize to him and his family for putting the cooler on him but it was seriously impressive and I he is not anywhere

Close being out of this golf tournament I’m I’m not saying this literally like I know other people have swung it fast as fast or faster but the only person I’ve seen go that hard like or at least like look like they’re going that hard at the golf ball is Bryson Bryson like every

He’s hitting these like low burners that are just rolling out to where I think he’s almost like leading the field and strokes gained or not Strokes gained like driv roll out he’s first Strokes gain off the te yeah he hit 75% of his Fairways while being second in driving

Distance on the two measured holes it’s a weird week for for driving distance and measuring it but um yeah you hit like those low burners that are like holding the fairways out there you’re going to make a lot of birdies obviously it’s like on the the player to know and

Check these sort of things but I I would be like mildly annoyed with the equipment people would be like oh we just forgot that the weights were in there for like you know 14 months no that’s on player that’s totally on the player he put it in like yeah you have

Mistake but like forever I thought like the I can’t even as I go to read it back I don’t even know if I would get it right but the draw and fade setting I had backwards as in like which one you’re trying to you know are you try

Exate something or you trying to help yeah exactly yeah Neil a young Neil Shuster is chiming in the comments saying that his Rangefinder in meters I’ve had that happen before of course done that um before the I used to pride myself on replacing my own grips uh last summer I I signed up

In a course I went and played in the Texas midm qualifier and I showed up and and had a great warm-up session everything was fine I go to the putting green I go to pull my putter out and it’s just shaft only there’s no on

It so I run had to run into the pro shop and be like please any butter that you have I need to borrow it for the day how to go it was not well probably it pretty average for me that’s a different that’s a different video series all together

Yeah like that sounds like a great idea like I’m gonna bring my old iron C nit and I literally got out there and just was like and I was like this was such a terrible mistake what was I doing so that ranks high Serge like I don’t think

I hit a good iron shot the entire time in Frisco uh this should not be happening in this day and age right because we should be dialed with everything and if we’re not we have a new partnership to announce that we are excited for a few

They’re playing and how they are figuring out spin rates on six irons and all this stuff and that is what I cannot wait why I cannot wait to get my hands on a GC quad uh because I need to learn how to hit uh the shot that you know

When it’s into the wind the six iron doesn’t go too far and the seven iron doesn’t spin too much that’s the shot I need to learn I need to figure out a way to put spin on that six iron I also need to learn about flyers I really you can’t

Like I don’t know of any other kind of devices that you can just take out in the golf course throw down in the rough and like learn how your spin rates are going to change every time I hit a a ball with a fly like what I think is

Gonna fly I just guess how far it’s going to go i’ like to put some science behind that one but uh Cody you’ve been experimenting with one already I was lucky I think this is part of uh you know Neil and I on the bizop side we’re

The ones usually get some of the first the first goodies that come in but I have the quad so’s going to be in the mail to you on Monday morning uh you’re welcome for that but it it’s truly uh kind of revolutionalized like my practice I DJ joked about it earlier

About the stack this is a big year for me I’m I’m actually uh working on swing speed and everything like that but just the basic numbers and like the most basic settings that it has truly puts out stuff that’s like oh that’s why it felt different that’s why it flew

Different that’s why it spun different and it’s finally like marrying up two and two and in my brain making things work I love it primarily for short game stuff as well like trying to figure out what all the differences between Spin for chips pitches everything else it’s

Been it’s been awesome D yeah I’m I’m you know lock step with all that I think it helps video stuff a lot too it just adds a ton of context so I’m really stoked to use it for a lot of the upcoming video projects we’re doing just

To have graphics on screen and numbers and all that stuff but the big thing for me I was uh I’m in Wisconsin I was hitting indoors I’m not shouting this is not a reverse shout out this is not a uh I’m not coming at anybody but man if you

Have a bad launch monitor inside you might you truly might as well not hit balls uh it’s miserable you’re you’re spending all day wiggling the golf ball around trying to get some thing to notice and say that the ball’s in the zone I spent half my time doing that it

Was miserable uh not a problem with the quad picks up picks up the golf ball right away so lots of good indoor uh functionality as well we’ll be giving you all kinds of great options and offerings that they have over time they’re going to be uh with us for quite

And waiting for Champions Tour these are the kind of injuries that that will pop up from time to time so I’m surprised it’s taking this long for Scotty but are we worried about this you know anytime you know a tournament Contender is saying they’re having a hard time quote bringing the

Club back uh yeah I think that’s concerning but still picking him to win but also like yeah I mean he what what did he what did he shoot 70 69 like I I think it’s like I don’t know it didn’t seem to affect him that much I mean finish going

On I was this the greatest golfer in the world what amazing like truly visual that this is like I unbelievable that’s why I think like when you say his personality is boring like yeah he’s a little bit milk toast but just like everything that he does is is kind of

A play they’re going to get put on the clock and you know they they would have to pick back up there I don’t think you just get a total pass on that but uh yeah gets the gets the little massage and and gets back out there a few

Minutes later so odd scene very odd scene him sitting in the chair uh while he has the physio just you know getting a little getting a little treatment uh on him but and uh the rest of the playing partner standing by but steps up hits one in the Fairway right after it

Hits it on the green and and continues moving on he does have a full-time chiropractor it’s also his uh full-time physio unfortunately he stopped traveling with them this year because he took a full-time job for the Dallas Stars so I don’t know if you guys if you followed

Scotty on social but he’s always like in this little tiny Boutique gym it’s actually the chiropractor Studio where he he works out on yeah very uh very tied in with the hockey organization but um you could maybe you make a play throw your throw that Cypress Point hat in the

The past couple of days I don’t even know if it was technically sold out but like if you had a ticket you were there I mean everything was 15 20 rows deep around the greens everybody hang there’s just so many cool areas outside of just watching the golf first of all the

Stadium views of everything are just fantastic you can see uh SE shots on every single hole that you go to you can even follow guys way better than you can in other tournaments and then you venture out of it and there’s just like oh there’s a awesome like dining area

Right here with like bean bag chairs and picnic tables and chairs to watch a live feet of 17 and a live feed of the NBC broadcast going on all at once and a leaderboard right there it’s just it is called The Players Championship but it is like the most fan-friendly thing I

Think the PGA Tour does and to see the weather hit the way that it has uh in these past this whole entire week it’s just been it’s been 10 out of 10 it’s been awesome and I I’ll save this for we’re going to do serf Pro mea culpas on

Sunday but I definitely got you know I got a little little sour on this event just like knowing what it was to what it now is like the whole strongest field in golf and it not being that you know just kind of as like this is the this is the

Event that has been hurt the most by everything going on on the PJ tour at the same time you truly don’t feel any of that when you’re out there in person and like do I of course wish DJ and Rah and cam Smith were all playing in this

Would it be even better sure but like the vibe has been awesome on site and uh I’ve really had a great time and I’m gonna have a great time these next couple days as well did anyone ask you about the owgr while you’re out there cou people had Pro what are we G

Do about this [ __ ] man the I didn’t even want to come today the rough was just like I can’t I don’t understand what they’re doing with the rough over here s what do you think over here that was the only negative feedback I heard I do love that you can like on

17 if you just want to go sit in the grass and see like shots all day you don’t have to pay $6,000 or whatever you can literally just have a general admission ticket and hang out there and I think that’s one of the cooler things in golf period because at you know at

Phoenix or some of the other sort of famous holes in the world you those are all kind of corporate buyouts and there’s actual energy at 7 throughout the day because of that because there’s actual every men there and that’s what made the happy hour thing I think kind

Of fun and Lively and stuff is that we were getting crowd reaction we’re getting the jokes felt kind of fun and it just felt sort of like the right Vibe for that it’s not forced fun either like I don’t know if Waste Management’s like forced fun but it’s just like people

Just truly it’s not chaos there it’s just people truly enjoying themselves right and um it’s not like look it’s overly manicured it’s a little creepy out there in terms of how much incredible green grass they have everywhere it’s in the similar vein as Augusta without the same course Mystique

Like I’m not elevating the players anywhere near that Augusta is but I would say it is a tournament you should probably make an appointment to come at some point in your lifetime right I mean I I think you everyone would probably like to attend every major championship

Excuse me at some point in their lifetime and I would add the players to that list if you if you catch it a good weather week if you catch on a bad one it can be a pretty hellacious week but man this has been this has been freaking phenomenal

One of my best ever is like if if you could bring your like full rain suit like watching I I will never forget it gets weirdly brought up all the time but JT’s round during that like horeshit players was like some of the best golf

I’ve ever seen in my life so it can get fun both ways you just got to lean in either way JT or kend du’s round dud for one of your alltime players rounds it’s up there God I think the kend duuk day I uh I think I was out there with my guy

Big play Ray and we had uh gone down A1A to uh the Chili’s at Mar Landing where I believe they had uh some sort of bottomless beer situation I I think I like almost blacked out the the kuk day it was so A Day to Remember and not

Remember for for many it’s a tribute to kuk you blacked out he was blacking out throwing birds and you were blacking out well and then we went to solid do they still have the little mini replica of 17 thing over by like the the turn stand

There because we went there it’s such a stupid story but we went there and like there’s this little mini 17 it’s like largely for children I believe and uh you get to go up and like hit a little whiffle ball up there to try to like

Make an ace on 17 and we like I like heads out of the way like trying to not at all it’s very C my guy big play Ray wanted to do it and so we’re like oh God okay like let let’s go do it so you know

We’re waiting and uh they stop us when we get to the front of the line we’re waiting in line for maybe like five minutes we’re like oh we’ll be up there and we’ll we’ll leave and they stop us when we get to the front of the line

They like hey we got to pick the balls off the green you guys got to wait here if you want to wait if you if you want to hit uh hit balls and so we’re like this is so stupid we should leave we should leave we should leave like no no

No it’s they’re going to open it back up it’s not going to be long it end up being like 20 minutes we just we got all these bottomless beers we’re just like super wobbly it was awful but there now there’s like this huge line backed up

And big play Ray steps up one Swig we’re both kind of like wobbling over the ball one Swig makes it Ace everybody go everybody goes nuts it was it was unbelievable so uh shout out to Big play R I thought that story was going to have

A let down you had had a crescendo exactly that’s the only reason I brought it up thank you D what what we’re saying is you should go to the players and Chiles if you have time all that it’s it’s hard because like I I struggle to marry up I mean I

Don’t love overseed you know all the mega green is the part that again that creeps me out a little bit like do I think this course would play better if it was just dormant Bermuda of course I do do I understand why they don’t do it

Of course I do it the same time it just feels like when you’re out there it’s like I’m not mad about this if I had to watch it on TV from you know a thousand miles away maybe I’d be a little annoyed by this is it too soft out there yes

We’ve got s multiple sources have told us that the uh the Precision air system AK the subair system uh there is is has been decommissioned it it no longer functions and they they no longer service it and do not use uh the Precision air system which uh may have

CA on me as well for reporting that they had one and they would be using it this week because they really could have used it this past week because balls are still back spinning way too hard and uh has led to some of these bumpers that

Are set up you know around the 17th green that people are having some issues with this is this is a you know a popular refrain I feel like on a Friday show is like just you know just have a little patience you start you start to

See it on 17 this afternoon like the bounces start to get a little bigger the tournament tends to go like this as as the week goes on Saturday Sunday I think it’ll it’ll still be firmed up I’m picturing some like poor like a vice president having to go into manan’s

As much money as they are on overseed and maintenance on all the rest of the course kind of seems like the most important thing out of all of them but I’m not anonomous what do I know uh what else we got uh I I just put a note in here most most disappointing

Person to see Miss the cut I mean these are you know we kind of talked about this with with beay Hill you know I think if we’re going to say these are the events that matter then these have to be the events that matter and there’s a couple couple pretty notable MC’s I

Think mostly just JT and spe uh I don’t know if anybody else you guys wanted to wanted to add to that list but I think two guys like both of us were kind of expecting to see play some nice golf JT’s been playing pretty good uh spe’s obviously been like playing pretty good

As well and uh just kind of a bummer to see both of those but if those are the only two names on the list then largely I think you know our stars are playing like uh but are kind of uh that that take is kind of withering which is good

If I offered to give you you a million dollars if spe would win a t this tournament at any point in his life but you have to give me a million dollars if he doesn’t would you take that bet no no definitely this just not it does not you own the bank situation

There I mean I’m sure look I don’t gamble so I maybe didn’t think this true but I just I’m baffled at how bad he is uh at this this tournament you know You’ think that Precision iron shots would be rewarded here may just it’s too many

Things that can go wrong kind of can I stop you there yeah there are no Precision iron shots right now that’s a big part of the problem it’s I think there’s something to like this is a flat golf course this is you know thick rough and things like that he plays well at

Augusta which is not thick rough very not flat golf course there’s a golf course it inspires a lot of creativity it inspires hey with this ball below your feet can you hit a little draw nineiron Skipper that doesn’t spin off the front of nine green like yeah spe

Can do that now when he has to gets it dictated to him what he you know go through these Moguls or whatever on this double Black Diamond golf course it’s not his not his strong suit and he just doesn’t doesn’t seem to have a lot of positive energy right now um around him

And it’s I don’t know I’m not buying right now I hope to be wrong Kam austa time but it’s just it’s there’s not a lot there right now for me feels like I mean Strokes gained we we trending up we and we talked about that a little bit

Overnight like that takes a really freaking long time to build this tournament into what it is and I think that’s always been like the knock that I think we’ve had on it is like when the people who organize the tournament the people who work for the tournament

Whatever try to skip to the front of the line of just like telling you how important this is and telling you that this is the only thing that matters and why are you not you know what did Jay say when he came in the other day why

Are you guys all not wearing your hats I don’t know what that was but clearly some sort of like media giveaway thing 50 US 50 hats players yeah but that wouldn’t have been that much of a joke maybe 10 15 years ago uh and it feels

Like they have kind of like gotten a little hands off on the messaging and a lot Hands-On on just like making the tournament a little bit better every year and I think it really shows and so that would be my one answer to that question and the other answer is just

Like I mean you can’t have it all can’t be the same volume right or otherwise everything’s nothing is that volume I think that’s like the Fatal flaw is like trying to make all the events the same is when they all feel you know kind of

Skippable so I I I don’t think it’s like totally possible to replicate this that much and also the golf course is awesome man and everybody knows all the holes and it’s just really fun to watch I think too D that any golf tournament can feel fun in person but most people are

Consuming the golf tournament on television and the way that the TV product is during players week versus other PGA Tour tournaments is just so dramatically different like other than the Colin Mora Shooter McGavin commercial that that it’s like imprinted on the inside of my eyelids the TV

Product is so much more pleasant during players week because they’re just basically limiting the commercial load they’re being like this is our signature thing of the year we want this to to shine as a product and you can see how different it is on the other weeks how

Just it’s not as fun it’s just you get absolutely punched in the face over and over and over again with commercials in a way that you do not during this week it it definitely like to build off this I’ll really want to get this question because I think it is like very

Very very important for the future of the PGA Tour is to say like we said this last night the elevated events need to come up somewhere close to this level like I’m fine with this Tournament being the pristine one and like the best case and the most technology the most least

Amount of commercials whatever but the elevated events need to follow some of the lead on this they can’t they need to look more like this than they do normal events and as of right now they look way too much like normal events they don’t feel elevated at all and that’s why

People are having trouble with the field sizes and the whole idea of these things is is really struggling to get off the ground because it doesn’t feel any different on television and this one always has and it uh I I’d be curious how the finances look for this

Tournament I don’t I don’t pretend to understand them I know they have proud Partners in them but I don’t know if you’re they run this tournament at a huge loss I I I I don’t know how all of that works uh to say like maybe it’s $25 million purse helped right help the

Bottom line I’m looking around though at all the people there I’m kind of like yeah this kind of starting to make sense I mean there were a ton of people out there today maybe you know maybe this tournament is sustainable on ticket sales and whatever all that to say like

If you really want a uh a tour that people are going to you know walk away with with this feeling and want to tune in more instead of w to claw their eyes out it needs to look a lot more like this and uh to to your point like I’m

Not saying on the ground like on the ground and like the community way they’ve they’ve done this tournament is is special and they have a way bigger team I assume that runss this tournament than other tournaments it’s not that easy to replicate everything other than like you guys you got to find some

Television partners that are willing to invest in their product and elevate your product on television so and God it’s the frustrating part is they show you literally this week how it’s possible right and that’s that’s probably why we spent too much time in the past harping

On this on this note Raj Roger Maly made an appearance along with Gary KO of course we gave him shout out last night but uh I don’t know if is this Roger’s last time doing a show ever uh because they were following him get like a little teary tribute as he was walking

Off the 18th green he kind of looked at the camera and said uh this man a ton to him and he misses this a lot totally projecting here could not be projecting any harder felt like shots across the bow from the entire production team back

At the sea suite at NBC and Golf Channel uh otherwise that was just kind of a I don’t want to call it bizarre it was bizarre setting for for that kind of scene because Raj is just back for this week I’m curious if you guys had any

Reaction that was similar to that I was thinking maybe it was because they didn’t really get to say goodbye right like they just sort of like didn’t renew their contracts and then they were gone and so this was at least like their chance to sort of have a sendoff and get

Some sort of like you know the equivalent of a gold watch to be like hey we really appreciate all your years of service and so I think that I would bet you that that’s what the executives were like all right fine you can have your little walk off of the players but

Then you’re gone and I think you’re right I think there was certainly some bitterness a little bit probably deserved the that this is what they had to sort of fight to get this piece of goodbye for these guys who basically gave all this time for 30 whatever Years

To you know NBC golf coverage and I you know they’re just Raj is really like insightful and fun I mean that that you could say that they you’ve said this Bunch s that they worked better with Johnny I think that’s right and true but like they were still like familiar fun

Voices that had a lot of insight in history and you know I used to love just watching Raj you know out there smoking and talking with hands and laughing it up and I saw him once like you know somebody was taunting Bryson at the BMW and Raj just like went after that person
