We headed down the GOLF ZERO on the Gold Coast to test some clubs for Richo. We talk about the Haitch irons and enjoy a coffee from Cafe 47

Did you want me one of those clubs no you can go get them whenever you want right here we go here we are Monday show where are we uh we’re down the Gold Coast as you can tell go zero down at gol zero we’ve just uh popped down here

Had a bit of a look around exactly um hit a few clubs and bits and pieces Well you certainly have I’ve hit a couple so yeah had a variety of uh different things cuz yes so down here at gol zero now lot of secondhand gear so a lot of

Secondhand clubs a lot of them have come from Japan some in stuff we’ve hit a few there was one set that I wanted to have hit of the uh Munos because the Mir yeah I hit some Myas so you so you hit Thea 101s one1 tc101 beautiful Golf

Club very similar I felt to my current a grind Club just small um they had the mauno 66 MP6 now cuz I was born in 19 66 I was always Keen to have a look at a set of those um they were never sold in Australia no Japanese only so Japanese

Only um but yes look if you’re looking for a decent set of quality IRS bag’s flying away for for a reasonable price um definitely worthwhile coming down here and having a look because like I said a lot I was very surprised at how many they’ve got but there’s a big Market in in

Secondhand Japanese golf gear in Japan Y and one of the few places that’s been actually importing them so like I said if you’re looking for that little bit good quality gear good quality you and Japanese only you’re quite happy to I I’m always a bit the same to to me you you can

See how much of a hard life or an okay life a set of irons has had of course right you can look at them and go yep whoever’s had these theyve left them in the backyard you know the shars are all rusty you know like so you can instantly

Sort of see whether they’re worthwhile correct yeah getting but uh lots of different stuff a couple of the newer ones some the new ail baham driver look the the brand new ail baham very very nice we sort of had a look at the 14

Stuff as well the 14 stuff so we had a hit with that um same thing very very nice stuff as well probably as close um blade you probably get as far as getting some distance and a bit of forgiveness out of them um but very very they’re very nice

You if I didn’t have my current set cuz they like I said they feel similar the distance is about the same you look at it and go if I didn’t have that and I was in the market um probably that’s right it all depends on where what you’re coming from

Right if if you’re coming from a bigger headed cavity back from any company and then you hit something that’s especially the Japanese stuff that’s what I was saying to show before is that how well the Japanese do it they they’ve got stronger lofted smaller headed fully forged golf clubs which pretty much no

Other company has no you know as in and and not just oh it’s a forge face or they weld it on a steel face or whatever it’s it feels like a blade as in a Foy forged blade but just stronger lofted and it looks more Japanese are the only

Ones that do it no no never quite been well for someone like yourself right who who wants the feeling of something really soft but but need a little stronger lofted so you don’t just hit it through the roof yes yes good and that’s been one of the problems and like I said

That’s hence the reason why the the on that I have at the moment cuz you’re still getting some punch with them yeah but you still get that beautiful soft feel when you when you hit them out the middle so um do you want to race in there and grab whatever you going to

Grab because we’re down here for a specific reason or do you want to explain that yeah yeah well you got a hot mic so don’t say something stupid while you’re in there because it’ll people don’t go to the dunny is what I’m saying yeah anyway we’re D golf zero to see

Show for in in the first place we haven’t seen show for quite a while Rich’s mucking around with some so he’s going to keep his isons his a grinds but he wants a set of ISS to actually practice with uh because he’s building a net at home so he’s building

A a practice Matt and a net to not a net as in the girl a net uh but he’s actually building a net in his front yard with a mat and he’s going to muck around with some irons that aren’t his own to make him a better ball Striker so

This is seemingly the direction which makes you’re in frame but yeah yeah go go for it yep so yes so looked at another set just to hit with like you said to make yourself a better ball Striker rather than so the set that we’ve come across so this come from

Japan as well yeah so suppose the Japanese version this so realize there’s not a lot of forgiveness and they certainly are better Club shorter than mine so we did hit them and we realize that because they are weaker losss you got to remember that the pitching W in this is

47 uh in M about 45 yes so it is also when you Mish hit them though like so Richard hit a good one which which was only about I know 8 m shy of uh his yep but when he mishit it it was more like

18 short yes yes so the idea is not necessar to put these in my bag it’s to I’m going to have a driving n at home it’s to work on striking the ball better so I feel that I feel that 716s yep so they are a couple of years

Old but you know what I love the sh they’re just they’re shiny mate see that’s what you like sh you know what they’re they’re beautiful like I said looking set of vs but um that’s what it’s about I just feel that if I bought I could get a more forgiving iron and

Just practice and hit with those I’m hoping that this will bring my ball striking even with my current irons better yes because if I can nudge this out and and hit some good consistent shots with with a set of blades surely then with mine it should improve better so that’s that’s what it

Was about it wasn’t necessarily about finding a set put to replace or anything else I said I’ll take these out I’ll go and play nine holes with them and bits and pieces and well play as much as you can play as much as you can with them

But that’s what it’s about starting to rain just saying is it was raining out I know you can just go out and just get bigger more game improving eyes but I want to strike the ball better correct more con consistently better and I feel these I’ll have to work really hard with these

To strike them really well well you’ll have to and that’s what it’s about so yeah I mean that’s go for you you know it needs it needs to be struck better like Rich hits the ball fine but it’s just that just basically makes you have to hit them better yes yes and so

You’re right you could go to a bigger head and M hit it all day and still get away with it or go the other way and go I want to actually be better and strike it better and I think that’s the smart yeah yeah and like I said so so there

Was a point in them and rather than just getting one7 on you might as well have a whole set MH do you know what I mean so but um that was the idea of it rather than just so like I said we’re just still going to keep those on but we’re still

Going to do some testing with some new drivers and a few other things like that but um so so yeah probably driver probably hybrid will have a look at around the place mine are all uh a couple of years old so starting to get a

Little old y yep so time to sort of have a bit of a look so bit of a marck around it’s nearly flying off but uh but yeah so I did go the other day I went out to uh the uh golf Expo yes so the golf and

She said uh Al and I will really enjoy it so I’m not sure if I’m getting on that I might have dumb your out of a trip if she wins it yeah place um oh black bull or something down Victoria yes the Black Bull is down there so they were there doing some

Stuff uh it looked really nice as well heard so so we do have a ticket in it and okay so they’ve got some accommodation there um it looks really really nice so it used to be obviously a bull start or something yes so where that’s where they come from the black

They had a big um net there so I went and hit one um you know like most golf clubs de do you know I hit I reckon hit a dozen balls or so my wife reckons they they pretty well hit the same spot each time so you do hit the same spot every

Demo days so if you if you really want to have a look at him if you go to their website have a look um if you contact him he’ll take you meet up somewhere you can take them out and have it certainly looks good CBS mb’s combos well it’ll be

Good for us to be able to get them up close have a hit with him and then people can sort of see him a little bit more because there hasn’t been a lot of them around I know Dave did a review on them yeah I think sometimes right golf

As well did something on it yeah he’s he’s down here somewhere to get him out and about shown and bits and pieces but um they were they were pretty good A little bit little bit thicker sole than some of the clubs so they Blade no they do have that bit more forgiveness

They’re about 200 bucks an N they’re abouts just under 200 bucks an n y but they Australian they’re right and and it was good good good opportunity to hit one agreed because I’ve seen them a bit I’m like gee they do look good and yeah

But I want you know you still want to see them you still want to be able to hit them like that’s the thing I think so cuz like I said there something there’s something different about hitting some clubs where you look at and go yeah well it’s relatively easy to go

What your specs are your lengths your Li your Shar like that’s relatively easy to figure out so even when I bought mine so there’s the bxi pro and the bxi the bxi was very similar to the stricken ones I had where they were forged and had a

Welded face on the front to give you a bit more ball speed I think even show felt that that would be the one that that’s the way to go for your the way you hit a golf ball but there’s other factors there’s preferences when I hit them both the pro

Was better well it would look a little better it feel a little better it’s probably not any shorter no even in yeah ball speed and distance and everything else it was all similar so but you know if you had have just bought that off the top of your head May well have bought

The others correct and then may well not have been necessarily happy enjoyed it as much so there is definitely something about hitting some stuff you know drivers make different sounds oh yeah um so you know there is that driver you hit and you go I can’t put up with that

Sound and there’s other drivers you hit and you go oh I really like that I mean most drivers aren’t there anymore you know what I mean there are a few that got a little bit different sort of sound and and like I said feel and stuff is is different

But yeah very good but um but that’s but that’s basically kind of the Monday show I mean we’ve got this going on Richard you might see let’s do something with it we’re still going to do a bit of a series on fitting richer for a new

Driver and whatever else we still got to test all the new stuff I mean I’ve hit the stuff richer hasn’t I think Rich’s even seen the new gear yet not in person new tail made or anything no no or apart from when I bought I li at Raw Pines
