You found it your home for the best content on your favorite team the fighting tigers of LSU do us a favor subscribe to the channel leave your comments below and be sure smash that Like recruiting calendar never really stops our buddy Shay Dixon good enough to join us for a couple of minutes here how are you dude hey Matt how are you doing awesome um let’s start with Micah deos uh LSU for the class of 2025 has already gotten as we know the

Number one quarterback running back receiver in the country U Micah deos the number one interior offensive lineman in the country and apparently is trending toward LSU first of all give us a little bit of the thumbnail on on deos and what the story is there yeah this is a massive kid I mean

6’4 well over 300 so he’s an interior offensive lineman we rank um a combo of garden center as an interior and then an offensive tackle would be ranked separately so he’s the number one interior offensive lineman right now top 40 player um consensus top 100 player so

Early on uh he became kind of a who who guy in this 2025 class which are guys who will be seniors in the fall and he was committed to Georgia for a long time he’s coming out of viager and mobile um he’s Alabama’s number two overall

Prospect in the State and they have a stack stack group of Alabama prospects this year but committed to Georgia in January backed off it and he had already visited LSU a few times then right before the Dead period uh which began earlier this month he came in on that

Final weekend for a visit and then Dead period all the way till March meaning coaches can’t have face-to-face contact with people and or with recruits and a lot of the times Matt during that stretch like it’s a month long you’re reorganizing the board you’re talking to

The guys and on their end the dust is sort of settling from the season visits everything and now I think you’re starting to see people like Chad Simmons who is on Three’s National director of recruiting and covers it all who interviewed the Bose over the weekend

And covered it and said hey look I’m moving my pick from the instate Auburn team to LSU for now and while there’s another decision date set he felt like U was turning in the right direction and a combination of a lot of things but let’s hat tip the hope line coach Brad Davis

One more time who did they have his commitment no but boy does he just continue to put them in the mix with kind of the best guys in the Southeast each year how is LSU um over the past couple of years Shay just trending so well with with offensive

Lineman I I think it’s good evals and the combination of everything from your personnel apartment to giving the coaches whether you know Brad Davis a look at hey look here’s who the early guys are I’ll give you an example um the T he’s now a full-time but Carl Saint

Sier at the time was a student worker had found Ethan Callaway and he’s a guy who just signed with LSU the top 10 offensive tackle he had offers from everyone found him very early on Ninth before 10th grade and Brad Davis took a look at him got look at him in Camp I

Believe uh but they were his very first offer and when he committed and signed out of North Carolina out of all the kids that they just signed he’s from furthest away and he said look I chose LSU because I fell in love with it but I never forgot they were my very first

College offer and they’re not a border state or my home state school they found me very early so I think they find a lot of these guys early they make good evals and then between what Brad Davis and the staff can do recruiting and tossing Brian Kelly who you can now pitch

Historically what he’s done with offensive lineman and turning them into NFL prospects that it’s almost like the perfect marriage um yes your starting left tackle is from Louisiana and your starting right tackle but look they went to Michigan to get now it will be a multi-year starter at guard they went to

The port or excuse me to what FIU was where Miles Frasier was to get a multi-year starter um and then at Center you went to Georgia who the air parent now is the Charles Turner um is a guy in DJ Chester who was a four started Georgia wanted they just went and beat

Him out so I think it’s kind of a combination of great EV Valves and really good recruit and then the program just being on an upward trajectory yeah Shay Dixon’s with us on three the Bengal tiger he’s on Twitter at Shay Dixon speaking of early evals Shay LSU uh

Dished out an offer to a quarterback for the 2026 class Troy is it hon or hun huh hn oh you’re gonna do that to me I’m oh man who Troy Troy H let’s go let’s go Troy H uh Troy H hn I’m going to go hun

On I’m going to go Troy hun hn let’s do that um apparently Jo Sloan uh doled out the offer here to a 2026 quarterback you know anything about him um yeah well he’s from Mission Hills California but he’s got some family connections to Louisiana which makes it interesting obviously but 63 he’s

Already pushing 200 and this is a 2026 Prospect meaning he just finished his sophomore year um but he’s also not a big- Time sleeper at this stage I mean Texas Texas A&M uh Oregon Penn State I mean his offer list is certainly Coast to Coast when it comes to SEC teams LSU

Is joining that kind of A&M and now Texas group that’s offered him it’s not like he’s got every single offer in the SEC so this is the benefit and joed offer to 2026 corack last week this is the benefit of them early on they had things figured out with Colin Earley and

He was committed and by the time he signed it was well over a year they turned that Focus to Bryce Underwood and George McIntyre they got rice Underwood and now it allows you to look ahead to 2026 and get the eval in of kids who just played as sophomores and for

Instance a guy like TR Hune orun uh he’s not even ranked yet he’s got a bunch of offers but trage not even he’s not ranked yet got a bunch of offers and and that’s not like he’s some off the radar Prospect again but you’re ranking 200 kids 30 kids nationally

Maybe at this point you haven’t have that second release of rankings and won’t be shocked if this kid pops up and he’s a top five quarterback I just think that they’re making solid evals as we saw at the time when Underwood uh and McIntyre were offered there were no

Rankings at the time and nobody in that class had a ranking and they debut as one and two in the country so I think what slow now OC has done is a really good job of eval in quarterbacks and now you’ve gone from getting that huge

Number one guy to how can you can kind of stay red hot on the trail and that’s just having extra time to recruit these guys because most everybody else is still trying to find 20 25 quarterback yeah it’s incredible it’s a great point about how how much they’ve gotten ahead

Do you by the way just one quick followup do you think that it’s uh an isolated uh instance because they were in and so solid with Colin Hurley so early or do you think that’s something that is just how this staff plans on on trending at that position in

Particular both and I think that a product of Hurley and getting him on board is they knew that if he got on board he would be solid he wasn’t the it was going to waiver once he committed and that’s why they went ahead and made

That you know move to get him in and you remember at the time it was him and Julian saan looking at LSU and both were kind of coming down to decision dates so I think this staff just SL specifically recruiting quarterbacks wants to stay on this trajectory right where of course

Anybody would love to Li land price Underwood a generational talent but time frame wise you get it in to where before their senior year ever even gets rolling if not right as their junior season ends you’ve got them on board and you’re already focusing a year

Ahead all right Shay Dixon’s with us got a couple more for you shay instead of looking at the future let’s look at the current um LSU is going to begin Spring football here in less than a month and they’re going to have some early enroll

Le on campus who are the early enrol Le that you’re going to be keenly interested in watching as spring gets started yeah there’s double digit of them this is a good question and I almost feel like I have to choose a position that we want an or like you

Know you’re looking for answers at so I’ll go dine I Dominick McKinley is not an early enroll Le so he’s not in this conversation I think Gabe ORD is kind of maybe where you began can he fit in as a freshman somewhere because he’s just as talented as the big time freshman

They’ve brought in recently so him coming out of aangel would be one of them and then I’d be intrigued what Sean Washington can do for you as a defensive tackle given he’s been out of high school for multiple years and he was on a Georgia National Championship team he

Just played on a Juka National Championship team or a team that went to the juk national championship and played high level ball in New Orleans at waren Easton so he’s had the experience he’s seen it at multiple levels like it’s not he’s he’s like a portal guy you would

Expect him to come in and be able to transition maybe give you something right away so I’d probably pick D line if not it’d be someone at corner just to see if someone’s like jumping in the mix more reps and you thought and that could

Be a guy like PJ woodland who end up signing out in Mississippi and it didn’t you know they flipped him from State at the time and there wasn’t a ton of Fan Fair and people were like look this is a three start well he finished his seven

Eight Defensive Player of the Year in Mississippi he won a State title he was Max Preps player of the year on defense in Mississippi so uh his stats are Gody playing offense and defense so it guys like that can just sneak up on DB and we

Look up in a few years and he’s one of the better players in the conference Shay I think it’s a great point and listen when they and I talked about it here and I I I don’t know if you agree with this but I’ll give you my sort of

Outside looking in Viewpoint of that they had Andre Evans and Kai Bates committed and processed those guys out of the class in favor of Woodland and uh and and help me from Kennedy in new orle say it again uh Bernard Cy Cy thank you out of out of Kennedy in New Orleans

Like it’s pretty clear like what they did they took out that they like better right I mean am I I’m not am I misreading that no not at all I also think that the two guys ironically or not that they took fit what Cory Raymond likes better

Than what I mean corter Raymond wasn’t in on Kates and Kates was a Florida was from Florida he’s a Florida recruit so point I uh I think that they also kind of fit a little bit better that they aren’t going to get completely swallowed up it it’s almost like they kind of go

Right in line with the type of Corners uh that Cory likes to play all right last thing for you what about um and maybe you did answer this I mean maybe a guy like Woodland is the answer like a a sleeper in in this in the signing class

For LSU would would that be the answer yeah know Woodland Cy is another guy who you know finishes as a three star but does he end up you know giving you real reps at corner and you end up looking back at how big of an ad it was um you

Know for me Michael Turner coming out of Curtis is intriguing because he was a four-star yes but you when you play receiver at Curtis you’re not in that beer you’re not getting a ton we saw it with Malachi D you’re not throwing up Gody stats but then again there’s been a

Lot of Buzz about how good he is at DB and if they flip him over and play him at corner and they’ve got plenty of receivers and why not at least I mean we’ve seen that happen a million times I mean jacobe Stevens travius white I mean

I could go on and on of guys who in their first Camp did both if they give him a shot at both I won’t be surprised be stuck at corner and then ended up like being a good player for them if not starter and you would look back and be

Like gosh I completely forgot he was a receiver at Curtis that’d be my pick uh we’ll go ahead and clip that one I look forward to digging that back up for posterity sake here in a few years Shay Dixon on three the Bengal tiger he’s on Twitter Shay Dixon always appreciate it

Man thank you oh yes and uh if Michael if you’re listening I hope Matt didn’t just jinx it there thank you for that I have I I have want to do that all right thank you shay we appreciate it all right I’ll talk to you next week hey thanks so much

  1. Nah! The kid sounds confused and very unsure of his decision. First GA, then Auburn, now reportedly an LSU lean.

  2. Great takes as always bro. I don't believe bates or evans were processed out. They chose Georgia & Florida State over us. I think we got solid guys in replace of them, and when it is all said and done, may be better guys. But both of those guys were blue chip prospects at A position of need.
