So the biggest difference I see between the elite players in the world and everybody else is just the ability to strike the ball consistently and powerfully now with the best players in the world what you see is from a good setup position they make their swing they hit ball and then ground
First a nice centered strike they get their low Point ahead of the golf ball so the club’s moving down they dof the club in to impact and they hit the ball a long way because of their Club head speed now it’s not only that they swing the club quickly but by delofting the
Golf club they get more energy from the club heading to the golf ball but unfortunately with most golfers certainly that I see face to face and on any video stuff that I do from golfers around the world you don’t see this impact position you see more of this
This impact position and then the shot we tend to see even from a good setup position the ball launches much much higher so we can see there well over 30° launch angle the low Point’s actually behind the ball so the club’s traveling up and a massive loss in distance even
Though I’ve still generated great speed now even though that one wasn’t massively offline when the golfers are coming in this way into impact we can see how much that club face is moving around so they struggle with strike they struggle with Direction and struggle with distance and if you struggle with
Those things as a general rule it makes it really hard to hit good consistent powerful shots so today I’m going to talk about how the trail arm the right arm for the right ended golfer and that right wrist position is a really important thing for you to master and by
Working on what we’re going to talk about in the video today I guarantee you’re going to hit better shots so the first thing I notice is at a dress golfers get that right arm in a very poor position so you tend to have that left hand on top and then the right hand
Comes in on top and it’s very very straight and almost the inside of the forearm is already looking down over there so because that right arm’s straight in the back swing it’s very very straight and as they come into impact the right arm straightens too early and
They release the club early so the first thing we want to talk about is the different position so we’re going to set up with the left hand on the club and you’re going to get the inside of the forearm looking more out towards the camera there and then all you’re going
To do is just rotate the wrist to get that hand on position and you’ll notice straight away there’s a little bit of Bend into that trail arm as opposed to that right arm being straight and the shoulders being open so we’re going to get that forearm looking towards the
Camera rotate the hand round and straight away as you make your swing now it’ll be much easier for that right arm to fold in the back swing so the first thing I want you to do is just hit a shot with that feel and I think straight away you’ll
Tend to notice a bit of a difference in the way you deliver the golf club you’ll find it easier to keep a bit of Loft off like I’ve done there the low Point might not move quite as far ahead but should start seeing that low Point move ahead
And if you’ve not got Tech like track man you’re going to notice the difference in the sound of the ball and then ground but straight away the ability for that right arm to fold in the back swing is huge so the next thing we need to feel is that as we’re going
Back we want to feel that that right hand now stays a bit more on top of the club on the way back the arm fold s and then in the down swing you’re now able to get that right elbow moving towards your body whereas when that right arm
Gets in a paw position you’ll notice that the elbow stays out so down the line you’d be seeing more of this movement whereas now right arm folds that right hand’s more on top so the elbow can stay nearer the body very different position for that club on the
Way down and as you keep turning out of the way the first thing you’re going to notice elbow in turns out the way much more shaan so I think the right arm folding in the back swing is all about getting set correctly to begin with then
We want to feel that that right hand stays more on top of the shaft on the way back and certainly as the elbow moves in keep that right hand on top almost so the Palm is looking down to the ground and maybe just do a couple a little bit slower than normal
To begin with and you can hear the difference straight away there you can hear how the club made contact with the ground a little bit more Beauty with trackman it was still 3.2 in ahead Club traveled down 4° launched even lower at 19° and again even though I took speed
Out a great carry at 161 so this right arm and right wrist so important if you’re going to start delivering that club better so we’re going to do one more slightly slower one good position at a dress let the arm fold let the elbow get into the side and again very consistent good
Strike low Point ahead clubs travel down launch angles down a little bit further and then once you obviously you’re going to hit a few more balls than I’ve done in the video but once you’ve done a few taking speed out then you can start building that speed
Back in you might find as you put speed in you lose a little bit of awareness as to what you’re doing so make sure at aess everything’s good let the arm fold and then elbow in to the body on that down swing move now strike wasn’t quite as good just a
Fraction towards the toe but clubs travel down again launch angles down and again even with a little Mis strike still a great pick up in distance now I do appreciate and I’ve done videos about this about kind of that lead hand but sometimes for the right-handed golfer
It’s a little bit easier for them to focus on what they’re doing with the right hand cuz that’s their dominant hand and most right-handed golfers would probably say I’ve got loads of idea what to do with this and I’ve got no idea what I do with this so again make sure
That setup’s good get the forearm facing the camera rotate the hand on that’ll take care of the back swing the only thing you need to think about is keeping that right hand more on top then elbow into the side and keep that right hand on top to compress the
Ball and deliver the club in a consistent powerful fashion and I love that feel again we can see good strike low Point ahead clubs travel down really deloft in the club and again more distance and it’s almost for me I suppose doing this video kind of reminded me about this is something I’ve
Worked on in the past cuz I was definitely as a kid much more this way as I released the club and I think I was pretty good with it but I used to hit the ball quite High not very far whereas as soon as I able
To get that feel impact and that’s the key can you match that thought with that feel initially in practice and then taking it to the course so that you can stand up there change that routine of how you set up have that thought have that feel and start hitting some of the best
Shots of your life on a more regular basis get those scores down and it does make golf so much more fun

Excellent job Ali on explaining and demonstrating the right arm move in the swing. This is something I've really been concentrating on and this video will help me through the process. I have archived this video for future viewing! Well Done As Always!
VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTION I CANT WAIT TO TRY. But i do have a question: I struggle with getting height with my irons so wont this make it even worse?
