2,000 people all shout what at the top of their voice tells you that it’s a a pretty suspect call um it’s such a shame because like this league like teams are beating each other the entertainment’s unbelievable these girls are giving everything and I’ll probably get in trouble but the the refereeing is just

Not up to the level and it’s and we we’re getting sucker punched with massive decisions every week that completely turn the game um and yeah it’s h it’s just not good enough that we just need to do better as a league and um why are we putting debut referees on

In round 134 of the season I I don’t know I see an amazing female referee ref in a men’s game last night but we don’t get her in our league so but these are all questions for the a league to answer for me it’s just really disappointing

Cuz the product’s so good and and today it really really affected the the game and um yeah we had to we had to basically hang on for 25 minutes when we were really attacking and going forward it was it was a shame will you appeal the red yeah yeah 100% will appeal the

Red yeah it’s like every angle of every replay sort of like there’s just huge question marks over even if it’s a foul let alone a red card so um yeah we’ll we’ll appeal it um but look it created an amazing moment for Briana and she uh she did fantastic like with the penalty

So uh I’m delighted for her and she came on and stepped up and that just gave everyone the energy for the last 25 I think I think if that had have gone in the the energy would have like been sucked out and it would have been tough

Um but that penalty save really kind of helped us get through to the end there’s obvious Elation at the final whistle among your players um it’s clear this meant a lot after a pretty tough month um how have you assessed the way that they’ve handled the really difficult

Part of the season the last four weeks on me yeah I think overall like when you go through a dip and you’re in the pit a little bit it’s very hard to see out and uh and when you’re going through that you feel like everything’s against you

And you feel like nothing’s quite going right and there’s little things maybe you can do better better and it’s very very difficult when you go through this this kind of period but all the way through we’ve never stopped believing that we’re a good team and I actually

Think this is going to do us good in the long run because we we’ve come out of this a better group and we’re more united we’re more unified the team are so Collective there was an atmosphere today in this dressing room before the game like we are not going to lose this

Game we are going to go out and win this game and there was a steerly determination I think you saw it from start to finish in how we played at the end you could have kept your experienced players on to close out the game instead you put two teenagers on for their

Debuts um just interested to to know your thought process behind that because I think it’s very courageous but also a pretty special moment for those two yeah it is you know we’re asking the players to be courageous and brave the way we want to play and so like we have to be

Brave and courageous as coaches sometimes and look I got a lot of faith in the two of them like you know you see them all the time because you’ve had them in the academy and you see them every day at training like I know they

Can do it and I know they can defend and they’re both very solid with that sort of stuff and I felt maybe just a little bit more energy and you know I wanted to show them you know that we believe in them and there’s no better way to do

That than throw them on into the Lion’s Den with with sort of like six seven minutes to go I’m sure their moms and dads were biting the fingernails but I knew they’d be fine um so yeah it really really lovely for them to come on they’re good mates so at the same time

Too was was awesome um so yeah it just shows you know strength and depth and we got so many players out today and we have like two teenagers making their debut it’s it’s awesome and we were still able to get a good result just one final one on Marana SPM um obviously

Goals are a huge confidence boost for any Striker they’re not the only mid trick I know that you look at but how nice to see her score not one but two today now she’s the joint top scorer in club history with half a dozen goals yeah I look she’s definitely turning a

Corner you know in terms of chance creation and and goal scored she was getting the chances as we know before but look I think for her as well you’ve got to understand you know she didn’t really play in the nwsl and it’s hard you come in as a Visa player and all of

A sudden all the expectations on you and it takes a little bit of a time for a player to kind of get into their Rhythm you know and we’ve only really kind of had like 10 12 games and so I think we’re really starting to see her now

Like kind of go from that first in the team and and kind of finding her feet in the league and a new environment and now she’s feeling at home she’s feeling like she’s got the support of the team and I think you can kind of see it in the way

That she plays now and yeah she’s she’s scored three in the last two and like she’s just got to keep that going now and you know this is kind of a really exciting time for her and for the team so I’m delighted for her cuz she’s
